After failing to thrive in the highly competitive residential demolition industry, mostly due to difficulties dealing with brick construction, The Big Bad Wolf decided it was time for a career change. Unable to resist the lure of entrepreneurship, he decided to enter the restaurant business.
The Three Little Pigs, dissatisfied with their free sample demolitions, are conspiring against The Big Bad Wolf and his new restaurant, The Wolf’s Bite. The grand opening is next week. Will The Big Bad Wolf finally launch a successful enterprise or will the Three Little Pigs throw up a metaphorical brick wall and stop him?

Interactive story with a light hearted two player competition is rather charming (despite a lack of auto save and crashing.)
I went back and forth on whether to recommend The Wolf's Bite. On the one hand, it's harmless; it has good art, the gameplay is pretty fun and it runs like a dream. On the other hand, it's very short and easy to figure out, meaning that there is probably a maximum of 1-2 hours of enjoyment before things get stale.
With that said, I ended up on the positive side because I played this game alone, and I think that there is room for more enjoyment if you play it with a friend. The game is a 1v1 board game essentially, and where the single player experience end up with you quickly learning all the right answers whereas the AI does not, playing with a friend could be more back and forth and thus more fun. With that said, that only stretches the game's length so far and I don't think that it's ever going to be a game you play for a long time.
As a two-player game on a budget, I think that The Wolf's Bite is a fine game. The short runtime might be an issue, so keep that in mind. For anyone seeking a fun single player experience, or expecting a fuller game, I would give this one a pass.
My personal review: ★★☆☆☆
I will be honest, that isn't my type of game, but from what i have played, the game seems pretty fun to play with someone! maybe one or two rounds, maybe could have more stuff than text and choices related, maybe a store would be nice so you could use your money. But in general, it is a nice game, the art is pretty, i love a lot the style of it.
Better alternatives out there.
This is a "competitive visual novel" style game similar to games like The Yawhg and Monster Prom.
The art looks lovely like those. It has loads of possible random events like those.
However there's one thing it lacks: literally any control over those events!
It's absolutely baffling, every single choice in the game is just three options, two out of three will lower your points, with no indication whatsoever which is correct! In the other games your stats would have an influence on what events you got and which option would be beneficial to you, here it's essentially just a game of rolling the dice over and over until somebody wins.
It makes the experience honestly really unfun despite the adorable visuals, I don't think even children would enjoy this because kids tend to be even more impatient with game systems that are unfair like this.
I was wondering why the average play time of this was only 15 minutes and well.. now I know. You play it once, you win or lose entirely at random. You try another game, you still have no effect on whether you win. You look at the massive list of achievements and think about how long it'll take when you have no way of choosing which 'route' to go on. Then you put it down and just replay The Yawhg.
I hope perhaps the game improves in future because a child-friendly alternative to Monster Prom is a great untapped market and if this was just a fairer play experience it could make a lot of kids happy! (Adding online multiplayer would also help.)
Charming and delightful. not a lot of randomization or variety in playthroughs. so ifyou know the answers to certain scenarios then you'll know what option to pick on a given turn. but it's adorable, cute and multiplayer.
play as a bad wolf trying to turn over a new leaf or the three pigs that are going to get back at the wolf.
A fast paced game if you're a very competitive person.
Love the art and characters in the game <3
The wolf is so cute!
Game itself may not be outstanding but art style is very charming.
Very cute, but very little to do and gets boring on your own. I recommend playing with a friend. This would make the game more errrr competitive. Super adorable style though.
I love fairy tales and the Big Bad Wolf is my favorite character. This game is fun, charming, and a lot of fun for my brother and I. The choices you make are interesting and have surprising results sometimes, meaning you have to think about what you are doing and choose wisely. It's a great two-player game that always makes me smile.
Not much gameplay to be had really. It's charming but really every choice should be viable and should give you a percentage chance of success based on the stats that you've built up. [rep/wealth/quality] instead if you play enough every option has a correct answer which makes it annoying to deal with the cpu when you are new. It's hard to call this a game and not an interactive story with branching options.
Very cute game where you try to get an edge either as the wolf or the three little pigs by going to locations and choosing options which may or may not have positive results. As the wolf you are trying to run a restaurant with good results, as the pigs you are trying to sabotage the wolf.
It's a cute game, with quite a few jokes. After all, it's a game about the three little pigs, and the wolf against each other, both for their own reason, of course. The story gets on, and it's always hard to decide where to go. Only because so many random events exist, and yet so little time to do anything.
It's a really cute game with good graphics but it's only got a few hours of play time in it... Wish there was more depth to the game, more choices, etc. Really cute concept... It would have been a really cute mobile game for kids. For PC, it's a bit predictable tho...
A short game, but fun. Whether it is worth the price tag would depend on a lot of things. I got about 2 hours out of it before I had seen most of what I was interested in. So in some ways it is rather expensive per hour played. However, I also only have myself/the AI to play against. I could see this being much more fun if you had people to play against.
So it is cute, fun, and short. Whether you want to spend 8 dollars for a couple hours of fun is entirely up to you. But I don't regret it, even if per hour it is kinda expensive compared to some of my game purchases.
If you like games more about building a unique story than specifically about "winning" then this game is worth a look. Cute art, quite a lot of endings without overly obvious triggers for them, and a competitive twist to the formula makes this a fantastic game for making a fun little story with someone else without spending too much time per session.
I've enjoyed playing this with my son (6) and daughter (8), and they enjoy playing each other, and vs the computer.
The story is fun and the graphics are delightful:)
We've played around 7 hours so far, and still not seen all of the endings.
I'd totally recommend this as a good family game.
I'd agree with the reviewer who said there was sometimes a "lack of transparency" (you pick option X, expecting Y, but Z happens, or, sometimes it isn't obvious how to play to win (I'm still not entirely sure what "quality" does for the wolf, or if, say I need to increase my reputation, which site I should visit), but it didn't really bother me much, I'm not playing super-competitively, I'm enjoying the story.
I actually prefer that the outcomes are pre-determined. Me and my kids enjoy having figured out what the "correct" option is for a given outcome, and there are enough options that the game doesn't get boring.
I think perhaps some randomized variety in the text for the various sites would be good. E.g., if you visit the restaurant every day of the week, you get different events and choices (good), but the "intro" restaurant text is the same each time, so soon you just click straight through it.
This is absolutely precious, it oozes charm and wit, the writing is absolutely top notch and I wish there were more like it. The only other game I can think of that's similar-ish to this one is Monster Loves Me.
An absolute joy for anyone looking for something a little different.
This is a cute game centered around the Big Bad Wolf who decided to give up demoltion work to run his own fancy restaurant, but he has only a week to get the place running smoothly, and that is more than enough time for the Three Pigs to put a big dent in his business plans.
That's pretty much the gist of this game. It's basically a Choose Your Own Adventure where up to two players (as the wolf and/or the pigs) take turns each week to either help your business (as the wolf) or to ruin it (as the pigs). Each area (lake, neighbourhood, etc) helps, or hinders, each side with various choices that you ultimately have to choose from. After seven days, the game ends in a form of a short story that shows the end results of your actions. Whether The Wolf's Bite succeeds or fails depends on you did (or not do).
The adorable artwork and story will make you want to choose every single choice when they come up, just to see what happens next. I will even pick what I know are bad choices, just to see the (often) hilarious result. According to the store blurb, there's over 350-ish choices/paths/whatever, so that's a lot of replayability right there. With that many results though, you will encounter the same ones quite often long before you exhaust them all. The outcomes of the choices (what you pick) never change though. There's also 'over 20' different endings too so it's fun to try to see them all.
I like how the game is obviously in favour of the wolf and he is seen in quite a heroic (most of the time anyway) light compared to the pigs, who vandalize, hangs out with tough gangs, and basically wreck havoc in the city just to frame, or sabotage the wolf from achieving his dream. The media often portrays wolves badly, so it's nice to see a good wolf for once because it's not very common.
I would recommend this game to anyone who likes fairy tales, animals, cute/funny stories, and 'quickie' games. Each round only lasts roughly 15 mins. It's also cheap too, especially with the launch discount. I'm sure it will be very fun to play with your friends. If you're solo, like me, you can play against the AI.
P.S. The wolf looks super cute in the artwork.
I'd like to point out though that there is no online MP, only local, which is unfortunate.
You also can't save at this point in time. It shouldn't be much of an issue though, as each round is short. Just don't return to the menu before you finish.
This is the cutest thing I've played in a long time. Light-hearted turn-based CYOA sort of thing, with a wonderfully charming art style and music.
I can't bring myself to side with the pigs, though. The wolf is too much of a sweetheart
While the first few play-throughs feel a bit slow and confusing, once you start getting the hang of it, it becomes addicting! It is a very lighthearted and fun little game, and will definitely entertain you for a couple hours. Certainly worth the price tag, I can see this being very fun for casual players.
The art is absolutely adorable, the music is whimsical and relaxing. It feels like a very well made game.
PS: the Wolf is too darn nice not to have you rooting for him :)
This game is really different from what I'm used to play and that is really refreshing. For me it is like an adventure game but with a much more dynamic format to it.
You can even say it is "simpler" than your common adventure game, but it has this kind of way where it makes you feel like you are playing a tabletop game which is really cool. It gets you to the story and action really fast with really a fun story and approach to the Three Little Pigs classic.
I would LOVE to see this translated to other languages as the english version uses unusual terms, probably recurrent in classical kids literature, but that can make it hard for a non-native speaker (and reader) to grasp it all. As I'm playing with my son, it can be hard to translate some of the phrases on the spot. I guess that is more a problem with me than with the game itself so no harm done to the experience overall.
In all, this is a really fun adventure game with a more dynamic feel to it, very good writing and is, for sure, a cool game to play with someone on the couch. Recommended!
