Pretty interesting survival horror game that feels a lot like a 2d version of Resident Evil. It's very buggy and clunky but it's still a very good effort from an indie dev.
I only played the first level until i died to the first so take my review with a grain of salt. I unlocked 76% of the achievements in 22 minutes which is worrying. Movement is slow. Any amount of backtracking is too much backtracking. The Simple 2D pixel characters don't match the low res background art style. Non of the enemies felt dangerous or did anything special or unique.
Its a great top down pixel shooter. good simple graphics, easy to control and play. would reccomend. 5/5
Solid foundation that has since been abandoned and remains rife with bugs.
I love getting 30 minutes into a game with no save points or checkpoints and not being able to progress because the game glitches out and won't open a door
For the price of a coffee you can spend an hour and get all achievements.
Kinda Fair price. Don't expect a challenging, long, or polished game.
Helpful tips:
- Press F to toggle your FLASHLIGHT (I didn't realize you start with one)
- Hold Space/Shift to RUN
I like this type of game, and I do actually like this game. BUT... It's clunky, VERY short, frustrating due to poor animations and glitches and I think it's been abandoned. Glitches and issues for me included a zombie attacking me and me not being able to move or attack (this happened a couple of times) and the gun glitching on the third shot - happened consistently for one play through. As this is a permadeath game, both of this were VERY frustrating! - I actually quite like permadeath games, especially if they're shorter, but you can't have glitches in them. This makes it broken rather than just a challenge.
As it's a cheap game, I can forgive a lot of the points I've made, but at a glance it doesn't look like anything has been done on this game for about a year now so I think it's abandoned, which is a shame. I think if issues had been ironed out, more chapters had been released, more achievements included and a few additional game modes, this game would have been fantastic!
If you can get it VERY cheap then I would recommend it. If the devs do all of the above, then I would DEFINITELY recommend it!

It makes me sad not to recommend Deadly Escape. I enjoyed my experience with this top-down, pixelated, Resident Evil-esque title. I was absolutely in the mood to play a game like this, with the impending release of the Resident Evil 2 remake. I found myself rationing ammo, searching for keycards, luring zombies into explosive barrels, etc. After playing for about 30 min, locating red and yellow keycards and finding replacement fuses for a generator, I stumbled into a boss fight.
I pulled out a rifle and attempted to figure out it's maximum range, while the boss then immediately threw two explosive barrels at me and killed me. I then realized that there were no save points in the game at all. This is a problem, especially since success seems to require such slow and methodical gameplay for the majority of the level. I'm not interested in slowly and painstakingly playing the first 30 min of the game just for another attempt on that boss. Perhaps some players are willing to make that time investment, but I'm not one of them - not to mention that the game wouldn't be as tense on subsequent playthroughs, as I would then know where to find all items and where each zombie spawns.
Other issues included:
*The auto-targeting sometimes locks onto a zombie when you'd like it to lock onto a barrel, and vice versa
*At one point after killing a zombie at the bottom of the level, I was able to continously pick up boxes of ammo off of his corpse - at least 10.
*At one particular point, the game is supposed to trigger a door opening - a dead man in a lab coat is slumped in a chair inside. I actually wandered around for a while wondering how to progress prior to this door triggering, despite walking up to it multiple times.

The Short of it: Dark, moody zombie survival game with a plot that reminds me of Day of the Dead. Escape an underground testing facility gone to hell, killing zombies, solving puzzles, and finding needed supplies.
I have more time logged than it says, I had to play it offline due to a thunderstorm I played it in. Extra creepy, lol.
I liked the serious tone and the notes and story bits you find scattered around and on dead bodies. Good fun for the reasonable price and easy to get into.
Deadly Escape is simply a game I happened to be looking at after the most recent Summer sale ended. Despite my reservations with budget/bundle titles, this looked pretty cool and was positively rated overall, so I thought I'd give it a go.
Story
Classic zombie virus breakout story. You are a security guard (I think) trapped in a science facility where a zombie virus break out has occurred. You wake up not really knowing what's going on other than you and others had taken up sanctuary in a sealed chamber that has since become unsealed. Your only real goal (at least at this time) is to escape the facility.

Gameplay
The gameplay in Deadly Escape is actually a lot of fun. The controls are all keyboard and pretty simple. Arrow keys to move, E to interact, F for your flashlight, and an interesting auto aim/manual shoot mechanic using the X and C keys. Holding down the X key shows your attack radius, which varies depending on the weapon you are using. C fires. There is a reload time, so it's advisable to fire and move unless you aren't getting mobbed. Should you take damage, you can use medkits found around the facility to heal, via accessing your inventory using the Esc or I keys.
This is at its core a single life action and lite puzzle game. The puzzles take the place of finding certain items to unlock the various doors throughout the facility. Many of the unlocked rooms in turn feature the next part of the overall puzzle, which is functionally an escape room (although in this case, facility)...but with enemies included.
There are no save points. If you die, you start over from the beginning. This could and usually does seem like an unnecessary chore, but realistically, you will probably only die once or twice before you end up at the boss battle at the end of the game. In fact, once you've memorized the map, which is a simple task, you could definitely speedrun this game in 5ish minutes.
9/10
Graphics
The graphics in Deadly Escape are of the really cool looking pixelated sort. Streets of Rogue and The Way are two other games that have a similar appearance, for perspective, as far as how the pixel art is presented. This is a very dark and gory, but pretty awesome looking game.
9/10
Audio
I haven't found the audio tracks to be particularly noteworthy, but they are effective regardless in conveying the overall mood of the game and of course letting you know when zombies are near.
6/10
Verdict
Deadly Escape is definitely a nice surprise when it comes to games you can find for under a buck on Steam or get in a bundle. In fact, I'd say it holds up against any similarly short rogue-like games. Worth your consideration without doubt.
Basically 8 zombies splattered and exploded with extreme prejudice, out of 10 possible

It's A Great Game. There are a few gitches here and there, but the devs can fix them. 10/10 would get this game.
I played other game of this developer (Endless Horde) and I really like the fact that the setting is the same. In this game we can find some information how the zombie outbreak happened, although it was quite cliche.
Gameplay is pretty good, but could be improved.
Survivial horror returns to its roots. I got a strong resident evil vibe when playing it when I encountered the first undead. A pretty great game to say the least. However there are a few negative things i would like to point out. The character can get stuck in corners quite often and i died quite a few times as a result. The next thing is that the character just suddenly stopped in his tracks while running and won't move (kinda like RE). The final issue i have is that there are no checkpoints in the game so whenever you die you're gonna have to do the same things over again just to get back to where you were. I reached the first boss and got rekted the moment i went in and was quite pissed to find out that i had to play through the entire game again just to get back to fight him. So including a checkpoint system or a save system would help greatly.
excellent game, played it for a short time and it is very interesting. i liked the pixel graphics style.
a tribute to resident evil games.
I really liked the game, has a good feel to it, we need more games like this. Well worth the price.
There are a couple bugs but the devs seem to be fixing them, so no valid complains. Was enjoyable enough :) hopefully the devs will fix the bugs soon and add more chapters.
Got enough fun for the cents I paid, recommended.
Just keep in mind that this is a low budget survival horror game.
Having said that, if you like classic horror games like resident evil, you will like this.
Edit: Yes it is buggy, it just launched, but nothing stops you from finishing the game and enjoying it.
Rather interesting in many ways. Game takes some new approaches and doesn't charge very much. Pixel-graphic cutscenes, defined weapon range, lot of graphical touches, and lot of in-game notes. You can tell this developer put his heart into it. I would recommend this game, only if you are wanting to try something a little experimental. It is still buggy, but that's almost not unexpected here. My main concern is the lack of save feature, except after the first chapter. That first chapter has a lot of gotcha moments, and it has a lot of unskippable cutscenes. It looks like the developer moved onto other projects, so it is what it is, folks. Experimental but also inexpensive.
I played this game on ubuntu linux, with radeon mesa graphic drivers. I have not gotten past the first chapter, yet, but I enjoy adventure style games and twin-stick shooters. This game surprisingly does not have gamepad controller support, so try using the Steam Controller tool to map controls to your keypad. The game uses the Unity game engine (surprise) and it takes up 300 MBs of diskspace.
Cool small game, feels like a small tribute to biohazard. Got the game for less than a dollar, a well done purchase.
Now a quick review.
Pros.
-Classic survival horror gameplay.
-Super cheap.
-Value will increase over time due to new chapters and other stuff to be added like leaderboards
-Biohazard vibe
Cons
-Like with any recently launched game, it has a few bugs here and there, nothing that hinders the gameplay.
-Simple gameplay, which could be a pro for casual players.
-Only one chapter right now
Conclusion
A fun game for survival horror players, extremelly good value for the money spent.
Lovely just Lovely nice and easy to play re looks like to come so cant wait the style is aswome and the so far as i read the papper the story line is really cool cant wail fill in the blank and get more as i play it .
Game is fight the zombie get key cards and gave up ammo and medic supplys so you can keep your self alive also nice toch the exploding barrels cleared that room lol . im given big thumbs up wont play more Child is ill why why lol .
keep great work up bud
TLDR at bottom!
For a game that is $0.99 and was only released 1 day ago for me at the time of writing this, I thought I would jump in with unbias towards the other products made by Ominous Entertainment as their other games were 'alright'. First things first:
The Story:
You are a security guard who wakes up after sustaining an injury amidst a zombie outbreak in an ominous laboratory. As you progress you find out that some serious shit was going down and then that same serious shit went south as most everyone in this facility is infected. You make your way through this facility killing zombies left and right while also finding bits of lore along the way which really arent that interesting as it is just another, "something went w rong in testing" zombie outbreak, nothing too unique or interesting. You eventually confront a silent scientist who injects a dead body with something that turns him into a raging giant of rotting flesh. After killing this goliath, you follow after the doctor, while the giant follows you seconds after. Scene. Really just an uninteresting story that doesnt try to be special or unique in any way shape or form.
-Story gets a 3/10
The Gameplay:
The basic controls for your character are the Arrow Keys to move around, Space to sprint, X to aim your gun/knife, C to shoot/stab, Escape to open your inventory, and E to use. At a glance everything seems fine, which for the most part, it is. My main complaint however, lies in the combat; I really dont like it. It feels awkward and clunky and tries to be different, where it succeds, but fails to actually be useful or interesting. It really isn't that bad but if you're going to try a unique style of combat, at least make it fun. Also, your character has a bar of stamina that depletes quite quickly, which is fine, but you can abuse it's quick regen by just quickly spamming Spacebar multiple times to basically sprint forever. The game is also, unsuprisingly, glitchy. However this is expected in a fresh release game, just thought I'd bring it up. The main glitches you will experience are animation glitches. Dead zombies will still just stand there doing nothing and the boss zombie for me was completely invisible which was just a blast. Really the gameplay isn't awful but it just isnt that fun, in fact it's pretty boring most of the time.
-Gameplay gets a 4.5/10
DLC:
Oh boy, everyone's favorite topic. As the game stands now (February 11, 2018), there is ONE 15 minute mission available and you are faced with the unfortunate, "Coming Soon" prompt as well as I believe 3-6 DLC missions in the future. As a $0.99 cent game, you'd either expect no microtransactions/DLC or a fair amount of them. This game is the second one. I'd much rather have the game be priced around $2-4 with all the content on purchase, and not having to wait for the free missions which might take a few weeks or a month.
DLC gets a 3/10
TLDR:
This game is alright for it's price, but it still needs time to work out all the kinks and for more missions to be added, and I personally wouldn't buy DLC. Story is a mediocre laboratory zombie outbreak with tiny bits of lore sprinkled here and there. There is really no inscentive to keep going. Gamepley could be a lot better, and stick with a combat system that works and feels good rather than the weird quirky system it has now.
Reccomendation:
I wouldn't buy this game even with it's price. I'd rather buy a CS:GO Sticker Capsule. Want a game worth $0.99 that has more content and is well fleshed out? Buy Blood and Bacon. It's funny, controls well, and is just a good time with friends.
