Having played over 200 hours and reached Icon level 1000, I can confidently say "The Crew 2" stands out as one of the best multiplayer racing games. The game’s flexibility in play style, alongside its rich visuals and engaging events, sets "The Crew 2" apart as one of the best multiplayer racing games available.
amazing game, after long hours of work this is a perfect game where I can go for long drives and watch beautiful scenery
I have to be honest here, I was never a hardcore player of The Crew 2 and I got this game on sale. Since then this game has been gathering dust sitting in my library, until I found a friend to play it with.
I must say that I enjoyed it a lot, had tons of fun, eventhough I make many mistakes sometimes. I would be grateful if some multiplayer features, like playing with your friends, remained intact when Ubisoft decides to shut the official servers down. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to do, if there was enough will. And I would love to keep my Bugatti Chiron Supersport.
But anyway, this is my review and I'm just a dreamer...
One of the best versatile racing that includes almost every vehicles from bikes, cars, planes, boats, etc....
The Crew 2 to me is a deeply flawed but still a very fun game, with the highs being so high to the extant i considered ranking it among my favorite 3 racing games of all times, that was back when i was just starting out, my opinion kept slowly souring the more i played it, but not enough to make me not consider it still as a good game.
Unfortunately, those highs i just mentioned also come with some very deep lows, the lows that snap you into reality & remind you that this is a Ubisoft game after all. The good news is, despite all those flaws it is still very much fun! and is worth it just for the amount of content it has alone, you like classic/hyper cars? motorcycles? perhaps you're here for some rally racing & off-roading instead? how about some boat racing & hovercrafts? planes? no? then surely you like monster trucks! not even that? okay, i know what you can't say no to, demolition derbies!
My point is, there is pretty much something for everyone here, and most of it seem to be pretty well made from what i experienced so far. (Yes, 225h in and i only finished like 60% of all the content)
i'm not sure on how i want to go on with this review, so i suppose i'll just mention some pros & cons.
The good:
+ The graphics are pretty good for a 6 years old game, except for the NPCs, we don't talk about those.
+ A huge selection of cars & vehicles from various time periods, you're sure to find something you'll enjoy, the handling was alright for the most part, and most vehicles felt different enough to drive to warrant switching things up from time to time.
+ A huge map full of all sorts of races and activities, you'll either love it or hate it, there are like a billion icons on the map for you to clear up, typical Ubisoft stuff, you won't unlock it all at once though. (it was a bit too much for me tbh, especially the billion skills & photos, but it's still content for those who care ig?)
+ Some key bindings felt weird on planes & boats but thankfully everything was very customizable with various sliders for everything you could possibly want to adjust, very extensive vehicle tuning too!
+ They also added a few unique fun events in almost all disciplines, with special aesthetics & unique soundtracks, some even form their own mini-stories/events, they're a bit on the shorter side though.
+ When playing with friends, as long as one of you wins everyone gets the same rewards, big +++
+ The game ran almost perfectly for me with rare dips here and there, nothing game-breaking though, i also only experienced 2-3 crashes so far (from what i recall anyways).
The Bad:
- Cars are way too expensive imo, it felt so jarring coming from Forza Horizon 4 to this, depending on how much you play you could end up spending days saving for a single vehicle, i really hate that & it's one of my biggest gripes with TC2, as i'm someone who likes to experiment with different cars instead of directly buying the meta thing and never looking back. (For context, i'm 225h in and i only have 147 out of 626 vehicles)
- No real character creator, you also can't change your avatar once you pick it up so you better choose well!
- The servers will randomly disconnect & kick you out without saving your progress, it didn't happen all the time but still enough to be pretty irritating.
- Although almost everything can be played with friends, some of the coolest & most unique races are solo only, especially the ones where you switch vehicles mid-race, shame..
- The UI is needlessly complicated & annoying, with multiple hidden sub-menus, want to upgrade your loot? haha, good luck figuring it out when you're just starting out.
- The game loves to waste your time, every single aspect of it is built around wasting as much of your time as possible, want to play a race? drive/fast travel to it, waste 15 seconds for it to start, waste another 15 seconds going to your spot! now there is a chance you'll be slapped with an un-skippable cutscene depending on the race/event, waste even more seconds waiting for the game to start the countdown, in a game with countless races, and where you're forced to endlessly grind for cars & parts this can easily accumulate to hours or more!
Want to check the summit? okay, how about we fast travel you to one of the hubs instead in front of a big monitor, now press enter, wait some more, you're still not in, pick the current summit, press enter again, now you can check the summit, you're welcome! (there are many other examples but i digress)
- Gold sets, ah.. where should i even start with this one?, let's say you played enough PVE, and now you want to experience the PVP, let's say you actually want to be competitive & even win sometimes, or maybe you just want to beat some of the PVE races on the hardest difficulty but can't, what you need is gold sets, sets that are pretty much obligatory to even have a chance at end-game content (mainly the Summit), one of those sets doubles your nitro, another doubles your score, not a 1-10% meaningless bonus; double!!
Now to get a single set for a singular discipline you'll have to spend 3-8h farming the same type of races on the highest difficulty over & over & over, you're not guaranteed gold pieces ofc, and you could be stuck for hours farming for the last piece you need, now imagine having to do it for 16 different disciplines, endless hours of mindlessly replaying the same 2-3min races over and over until you go insane, okay, it took me 80-90h to finally get all the sets i need but at least the nightmare is finally over, right?
Get the duck out of here scrub, what are we? reasonable people? ofc not.
Each of the golden parts have 2 other random attributes, want the good ones? you'll have to use in-game currencies to reroll them and hope for the best, the price will go higher each time ofc, you could spend 100k or +10 millions to get the attributes you want, feeling lucky? aight aight you finally did it, you got the attributes you want, but wait! there is moreee! each attribute have a % attached to it, you only got 1% out of 20%, time to spend endless time & currency grinding & trying to max it out! Woohoo!!
You don't have to do any of this ofc, but that means you'll never be able to get any the of the exclusive Summit cars, almost no vanities (which are normally only buyable using real cash atm, but you get some once in a while in Summits provided you rank high enough), your choice!😄
- You think that was tedious enough? wait till you try stories! they're some unique events(?) with some cool rewards like more exclusive cars & vanities, they basically tell a little story, provide you with a photo & a small description and then ask you to find the location in the photo in the huge US map, then you have to drive to it using a specific type of vehicle (mostly ground vehicles), but you can't fast travel cuz that would make things simple, no no, you'll have to drive! fair enough, found it, it's 75KM away!! woah! alright, i'll spend 15 mins or however long it'll take me to get there, done, checks next step, 95KM away, what the duck? aight, another 10-15mins it is, the 4th location, 45km away, oof, how many more steps i need to finish? what's that? 12 total for a single car story? +1-1.5h if you check YT & 2-3h if you try to do it yourself? how many stories are there? +20? ah, alright, do you get any special narration after each step? a mini cutscene maybe? no? nothing? how about some currency, let's say 1 currency, no? fuck off then..
I just noticed i'm running out of space so this will have to do for now, sorry folks, blame steam.
All in all, even with all the terrible parts of TC2 i'd still consider it to be good, one of the better racing games out there, it's 100% worth a try but DO NOT waste your time excessively grinding for anything as it's not worth it in the slightest, just focus on the parts you enjoy & then move on and never look back. 7/10 (but i'm kinda biased since i only paid 0.8$ for it, so maybe a 6? idk)

I'd say this game is worth a try. There’s plenty of racing, though it’s kind of like the towers in Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry—you’re constantly grinding for something.
About that grind: collecting tuning parts (to get bonuses, you need to put together a full set of the same color and type) can be a hassle. Don’t expect to complete a set easily—you’ll likely be replaying the same race multiple times. There are around 200 races in total, each with three difficulty levels. I’ve cleared 88% of the main races and about 51% of the three other categories, and I’m nowhere near completing a full set on any car. But honestly, you don't need a full set. Once you max out your car’s power, you can just blow past the AI opponents and enjoy the view.
And the views here are worth it. The game is gorgeous, and the scale is impressive. You truly feel like you’re driving across an entire country. The map might even be bigger than Euro Truck Simulator's, even with all the DLC. Each state has its own distinct look and vibe, and I loved the variety.
The one downside is that the game kind of forces you to try different modes. I wasn’t really into planes or Off-Road, though the boat races were surprisingly fun. Some modes just feel pointless, like Derby. It’s just cars bouncing around with no real destruction physics. And F1 racing doesn’t really fit either—the arcade physics don’t do it justice, and when you’re driving an F1 car off-road, it’s just weird.
At first, I hated Off-Road races and was ready to skip them. I tried MX, Aerobatics, and Touring Car instead, but that sense of “incomplete” pushed me to finish those 20 Off-Road races, unlock the boss, and complete all the achievements.
Overall, the game’s pretty easy—maybe too easy. To make it more challenging, you’d have to clear everything on the easiest difficulty first, and with a game this big, that can get tiring. I put in 30 hours and only got through half the game. I really enjoyed the hypercars, though; I’d be down for even more long races that last an hour or more. There’s something special about speeding down a wide-open highway, listening to music, and soaking up the graphics.
In short, there’s something for everyone here, so I’d say it’s worth a thumbs-up.
I got it for 1 or 2 bucks. Not as good as Forza, despite having planes and boats and motorcycles and cars. The driving is very confusing and bad in general, but you get the hang of it. There really isn't much going on. You have a boring story, boring quests (aka races and challenges) you unlock vehicles after grinding and that's it. There aren't many players and haven't had a race with any at all. The only people I have seen are "ghosty" in free roam, so I can't even race with them in free roam normally. For 2$ it's ok, but full price is better worth to wait for sale on Forza.
The game has no coherent story, the performance (at least that of the Steam version) is abysmal. The FPS is limited to 60 and the game causes enormous problems on multi-monitor systems. For example, you cannot resume the game if you have switched to another program using ALT-Tab. The game simply freezes or glitches back and forth between the desktop and the program. Stay away!
This was a huge waste of time and money for me, not recommended even if you can get it for free.
- Cars physics are awful and very wonky, it doesn't feel like you are playing a AAA racing game, you might find a better game at roblox or something
- Didn't know that every Ubisoft Single-player game should have an internet connection to be played, No wonder people disencourage dealing with them all the time. I wasted 3 hours just to get it to work Offline but got nothing, in addition of dealing with their horrible launcher.
You'd better go with a forza game if you really want a company that respects their players while making the Best arcadey racing game with real car physics
Btw, the game is capped at 60 FPS and you can do nothing about it lol.
The Crew 2 Review
I first discovered this game back in high school and thought it was very unique at the time, with different mechanics and gameplay. After a few years, the game went on sale, and I finally managed to complete it. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations.
Pros
• Gameplay stands out from other racing games. The game features a variety of vehicles beyond just cars, such as planes, boats, hovercrafts, motorcycles, and more. Each vehicle has its own unique feel, adding diversity to traditional car-based gameplay.
• Race Modes offer a wide variety to keep things fresh. From stunt challenges where you earn points to police chases where you crash into other cars, there’s a lot of variety to enjoy.
• Map Size is extremely vast, covering almost an entire continent of America, from one city to another. It offers a massive space to explore.
• Graphics are stunning, complete with a dynamic weather system that feels quite realistic. It features impressive rainy weather, sunny skies, tornado storms, snowstorms, and many other conditions that greatly impact the racing experience.
• Arcade-Style Mechanics make it easy for new players to pick up and play without much effort.
• Fast Travel is quick, even without using an SSD.
Cons
• RPG System is puzzling, requiring players to grind in order to upgrade all the vehicles. It’s a terrible idea to include RPG elements in a racing game.
• Currency System is tedious. Earning money requires repeating races multiple times just to earn a small amount, making it frustrating to gather vehicle parts and money.
• Empty World despite the large map, feels lifeless and hollow. Even though there are some living creatures, it doesn’t feel alive.
• Character Control where you walk around seems like a poor fit for a racing game.
• Mission Variety becomes boring and exhausting, with activities like doing stunts and crashing into boxes being especially irritating.
• Vehicle Handling is poor, particularly in rally cars, motorcycles, and some non-car vehicles.
• Cutscenes and Voice Acting are terrible, feeling like mere filler content.
• Storyline is bad enough that it would be better left out entirely.
• Music lacks variety, especially compared to competitors that feature more suitable tracks for driving.
• Playtime is too long and exhausting for a racing game. A duration of 15 to 20 hours would be reasonable, but reaching 35 to 40 hours makes it feel repetitive and tiring.
• Race Track Design is monotonous, with inconsistent turns and many narrow passages that suggest the designers don’t fully understand how race tracks work.
• PC Performance suffers, frequently crashing multiple times, which is very frustrating.
In my opinion, this is the worst racing game I’ve ever played. It’s tiring and boring, mainly due to the grinding required to earn money and vehicle parts. A racing game should provide enjoyment without the pressure of a terrible grinding system. Honestly, this game was a complete waste of my time and money.
Score: 3/10
The graphics are mid at best, only got and kept the game since it was $1 but i still don't even play it not even fun with the wonky physics. I'd rather play forza.
Cant run over pedestrians. 4/10 only buy if its 1$
Plentiful things to do with yourself or with friends.
I've played the first one on console a long time ago, this on PC is graphically on another level for a 2018 game.
It's not "OMG that's crazy" but it's enough to make you go "Wow that's beautiful" on those endurance races that takes you go up the mountains and back.
Although they Ubisoft has abandoned this game in their weekly vanity dept.
8/10
I would give it a 9/10 if they update their vanity store and added more cars.
Not bad for it's time, sometimes the weather effects looks nice, other times just like it's a game from 1980. Same thing with the physics/handling, sometimes it's decent, sometimes it's random.
I'm now waiting for my $1 refund, I barely got to play the game and had to contact Ubisoft Support because I carelessly picked a character I didn't like and it's impossible to change it. I learned you can't even start a new game. After waiting two weeks for a response, my issue was unresolved, and didn't even allow me to transfer the game to another new Ubisoft account just so I could play from the beginning again.
The most disappointing feature is the few ugly characters you are forced to pick in a racing game. I was not expecting it. Also the race AI is too rigged, making it feel like a mobile racing game. The story and events are confusing, and the menu is overloaded with animations and sound effects, making it quite annoying.
In my opinion, The Crew 2 is a very mediocre game. The menus are slow to load and navigate, some of the vehicles have simply atrocious handling, the missions are very samey, the acting is dull and uninspired, the car collection is extensive but expensive, and in general it doesn't particularly stand out in any area. It's certainly not worth the £41.99 you'll pay for it here.
Those idiots at Ubisoft should think about how to fix their stupid launcher first before doing their moronic agenda. Fuck Ubisoft and i pray to the universe that your downfall come true.
As for a 1 euro purchase - this game is perfect, nothing else to say. This game surprised me very positively. Great roads, great music, great cars and the variety of everything available in the game.
very good, maybe the best arcade driving game on the market with forza, but turned me into a femboy
After coming from Forza Horizon this games driving just feels terrible. I tinkered with multiple cars and settings but it just isn't enjoyable to drive. I can't remember a single game that feels that bad. Only pro is the big map.
this just isn't for me. grabbed it while it was on sale for a single dollar. it has some cool features and looks nice but the driving doesn't feel good at all, feels floaty as hell and the "nitro" doesn't sound/feel impactful at all. i can see the appeal but i don't enjoy playing this and don't feel like forcing myself to keep playing to see how the late game holds up. if you've played NFS, the street racing is a joke in comparison. using boats and planes feel fine though but it's not really my cup of tea. also the dialogue is corny as hell. the visuals are nice, the UI is nice, the customisation is decent.
This game have a lot of good points to talk about, but, firstly lets talk about negative points.
Physics: 4/10
Too arcade, this game don't have bad physics like other arcade games, that's not bad, but in my case I prefer to play more realistic games. When we talk about all the cars physics it was my opinion. Now about airplane and bots physics I liked it.
Carrer: 6/10
We can finish the carrer mode of this game too ez, because they didn't stay focus on carrer mode, just in the races. We don't have too much to talk about the carrer, we have a short career but for all racing categories, that's good, but nothing special.
AI: 2/10
I think they could make better
Now let's talk about positive things
Map: 10/10
I can say it was one of the bests maps that I already played, because we have pricipal locations of USA to explore and travel to anywhere with different vehicles: land, air or marine vehicles.
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics of this game are crazy,(remembering, this game is from ubisoft) we have good graphics in this game, not just for the world or for the vehicles, but to smallest detailes like interior, animals, some houses, some parking places, etc...
Vehicles: 10/10
We have a good variation of vehicles, not just about brands, but categories too, we can just drive for fun or make drift / drag / gt races / monster trucks / airplanes; and all Wednesday we have live summit to play, win followers and cars.
for now that's it;
it was everything that I remember to say
TNUC, I just want to play the car game. Stop making me sign in to play the game every time. I have constantly had problems just even trying to PLAY your gnikcuf games, FOR YEARS. I've reset my passwords Four times now because of your tihsllub password requirements and even when they are met it will say this password is too common. Cool games. gnikcuf tihsgod LAUNCHER.
Please liquidate, you monolithic money leeching anti-gamer tihs-stain of a company.
Yours Angrily,
The gaming community in general.
Doesnt even let me play, it crashes straight right after i Select continue in lobby, no matter what I do or any change i make in settings
The Crew 2 was a game I already played during the closed alpha, closed beta and even the open beta for around 5 hours each back in 2018, but due to me just wanting a new PC, I didn't end up buying it. Now, 6 years later, with a reason to play it, I can finally answer the question whether it gets any better past the 5-hour mark.
The most obvious feature of Crew 2 is that it's an open-world racing game, where you can take a road trip through the United States of America. Cruising around is generally a lot of fun in this game, because the world has places based on real locations, so you can more or less go on a sightseeing tour, explore different routes and enjoy the freedom.
However, beyond cruising around, there isn't a lot more to be said. The Crew 2 starts you off with the entire map unlocked, so the world is just a glorified fast travel machine with no incentive to actually explore, which is a downgrade compared to the Crew 1, where you at the very least had to unlock fast travel points for the different cities. Yes, there are these mini challenges you can do, but the payout is so low you might as well do a proper event instead.
Additionally, this map has to be suited for boats and planes too, meaning that they had to work on making each place accessible. Unfortunately, it seems like that was too much for the team. If you're off the main roads, you quickly realize that many of the alleys and nature have flat textures, lack collision, or have rain pouring through objects. So the more you explore, the less detailed it gets.
Obviously, the focus this time isn't on exploration, Ubisoft decided to impress with 12 disciplines instead, such as drifting, hovercrafts, monster trucks and more, which is impressive, cause I don't remember a single open-world racing game striving for that kind of variety. In contrast though, there ironically is a lack of variety. Most of these disciplines are just quantity over quality, with most of them just "working", but never going past their initial concept. As you progress, you realize that the later disciplines have fewer vehicles, fewer events and even less customization, making it feel like the devs ran out of steam midway.
Cars feel fine to drive, many are complaining, but they are just very arcade-y, and in all honesty, I played games with much worse handling cars, so maybe it's a tolerance thing. The issue is more that they aren't satisfying to drive. The speed doesn't give you any excitement, and braking, taking good turns or drifting doesn't feel rewarding because driving into a wall is 10x more effective.
There are also bikes, but they feel so bad that bikes in Fortnite are literally more fun to drive.
Boats are whatever, jet sprint is pretty fun, cause smaller boats give you more interesting places to drive in. Even then, the waves are basically non-existent, leading to the one thing that makes boats unique being absent.
Last, are the planes, and they are a blessing and a curse. It's a lot of fun to instantly transform and go to different areas, but the amount of simplification makes them feel so dumbed down that there's no thrill in doing tricks. It's also really frustrating because tricks often won't get detected. What's even worse is that planes are practically worthless when it comes to the events.
Which is a perfect segue to the game's events. There are hundreds of events, however the game omits 1/3 of the disciplines during the live xtreme and rival events, which are the bread & butter of this game since they actually use the transformation mechanic to actively give you a variety-filled event. Beyond these, there are some events that change the game's art style here & there, but after playing all the events, I can say that 98% are simply filler.
The Crew 2 has 3 types of events, and all of them are way too easy.
Regular races are boring, because the track layouts are so unimaginative and barely use any interesting set pieces. It's more akin to "here's some random track I drew on the map". The AI is also stupid; it doesn't feel interactive; you cannot push them; they just drive their line, and if they get stuck, they stay stuck. Even with low vehicle stats, you average a 10–60 second lead, so there's no real competition.
Same with time trials; you basically drive against no one, even on higher difficulties.
Stunt races are also there, but what's the point of stunt races when you can't fail stunts due to the car always landing on 4 wheels? There's no risk to make the reward feel earned, and just like the other events, it's so easy, that the required point amount is so low, that even by finishing the course you win, no matter how "good" your stunts were.
There's also no real story to keep you hooked. In The Crew 1, it still tried to maintain that classic 2000s-esque story, with different families and a crime theme to go along with it. It wasn't great, but it was at least something.
The Crew 2 instead goes for the typical "I want to be a famous racer" trope. It's just really unfortunate how racing games have strayed away from trying to tell a story. The characters that exist are also as deep as a puddle, and they need to constantly yap about nothing just to remind you they exist. With yapping—I really do mean yapping—the dialogue will constantly give you the impression that an alien from the Andromeda Galaxy has written this, thinking this is how humans talk to each other.
Even worse is the music. The original soundtrack is alright, but the car radio is just godawful. It seems like they didn't continue paying the music licenses, so what we ended up with is the worst 3am night drive playlist to grace this planet. I really do miss the old radio from the alpha and beta playthroughs.
Last, but not least (I really want to mention this, because it's just annoying for no reason) the UI.
I like the ideas the UI has. Having a seamless transition between event and open-world is a good idea that goes with the flow of the game. Same with quick swapping between the three main vehicle types while driving.
What doesn't work is the design of the UI. Despite trying to appear minimalistic it just isn't intuitive. It's a bunch of different-colored squares that look like pop-ups. Trying to find anything specific in the menu is so maddening when everything is a giant blob of information.
What bothers me the most is the pause menu. When you pause while driving, it takes a good second for the game to pause. During that time, you can still control the car, which is not how a pause menu should work. Same when exiting out of the pause menu. There's a good second where you DON'T see anything while your car is driving, thanks to the transition animation. Who came up with this? Of course, you crash thanks to this odd design choice when you're going 200 km/h down a narrow street.
All in all, I didn't miss out on anything regarding the full release. It's fun to cruise around for 5 hours, especially when the game costs only a dollar, but after that The Crew 2 feels tedious to the point that even finishing the game is a rare achievement. If quantity over quality was a game, it would be this one. 6/10
I bought this at ₹50, which was a dirt cheap price for the game.
This is a great game for adventure sports lover.
Graphics isn't that great when you compare it to Forza 4 (both released in 2018) but it is enjoyable due to its variety of race types, vast map, interchangeability of vehicles.
I think its having some optimization issues which ruins the experience.
Driving isn't as realistic as Forza games but still a lot enjoyable.
ahhh I used to really like this game and often play with friends
but it's a shame why have to close the server
Ubisoft at its best, servers are potatofest, and the game itself is not too bad, has alot of race modes, lots of potential. And yet Ubisoft does waste it...
Good graphics, good game play and have some awesome cars
Was it worth buying this game at a huge discount?
The Crew 2 is a sequel to the 2014 racing game. It is, of course, a racing game in which we race mainly with bots, and it's better not to comment on the online mode, because it's not done well, so we either race with bots or with friends in a party. Everything is garnished with a boring storyline, about which there is nothing to write too much, because this is a racing game and it is not very important in it. What sets The Crew 2 apart from other racing games is that in addition to classic cars, we also race other vehicles such as airplanes, boats and monster trucks.
Cars and game modes
Let's start, perhaps, with just a large selection of different vehicles. As I mentioned in the game, I have a choice of ordinary cars, racing cars, cars for Drag Race, various types of aircraft, boats. All this results in a large number of game modes, where, of course, most consist of beating opponents in a race. However, there are also time trials or demolition derby. On top of that, there are all sorts of tests on the map, which require us to exceed a certain speed or escape to a certain distance. Plus taking pictures, which may not be something particularly interesting, but it's always some additional activity.
Gameplay
However, the problem arises in the gameplay itself. In The Crew 2 it is impossible to lose. To win a race you just have to drive ahead and not hit the wall, that's all it takes to always arrive in first place or at least in TOP3 (which already gives us finishing the race and counting it towards progression) This makes the game trivial and doesn't challenge us at all, the bots can't beat us if we don't do very big stupid things like driving into buildings at full speed. This game is not a simulator, but it is too simple. On the other hand, we have, for example, flying an airplane, where the very feeling of flying is much more difficult, and sometimes even annoying, but it poses some challenge. This shows that it was possible to create a more difficult game. In general, the feeling of driving depending on the vehicle and game mode is different, but it is no problem to beat every race the first time. The game also lacks proper vehicle physics. For example, in another racing game, Grid 2, after hitting a wall, we were often unable to drive further because our vehicle was useless. And in The Crew 2? We drive on as if nothing ever happened, the car runs and drives even after driving into a wall 300 km/h.
It should also be noted that in The Crew 2 we upgrade our car with parts we get after completing a race. Initially, this may seem like an interesting game mechanic, but when combined with the hopeless AI that we are able to beat without developing the car, it becomes meaningless. Even a minimal vehicle upgrade makes the game even simpler, and the bots are unable to catch up with us.
Graphics and map
The map in The Crew 2 is sizable, but it is not particularly interesting. There are places that look nice and interesting, but it doesn't encourage you to explore and drive from race to race. This also goes for the graphics, which are so-so. Cars and areas outside the city are even nicely done, but already in the city it looks at least poor, the buildings are ugly and there is no pleasure in driving around the city. Again, effects such as water and weather effects are really well done. I'll point out right away that the sound design of the cars is good, and the music itself is so-so, rather nothing special, but nothing annoying either.
It is also worth noting that there is an option to create your own paintings, or use the paintings of other users. This is only a cosmetic element, but I think it's worth mentioning, because we are not limited by a few basic paint schemes.
And why do random animals pop up in random places on the map, which simply run in front of our hood and we can't even interact with them?
Summary
The Crew 2 is a game I enjoyed playing at the beginning, when I still didn't quite know what I would encounter later. The longer one plays this title the more one sees all the shortcomings. This game is simply too simple and doesn't offer any challenge, and everything is wrapped up with poor gameplay, lack of vehicle physics, empty grimy world, trivial races, stupid AI. Is it worth buying this game at full price? Of course not. And was it worth buying it at a discount of -98%? Also no, because this game is not worth any money.
✔️A large and diverse selection of vehicles
✔️Quite a few game modes and activities
✔️Challenging aircraft driving model
✔️Ability to create custom paint schemes for vehicles
✔️❌Graphics (cars, out-of-town areas, weather effects - a plus, cities look awful)
✔️❌Sound - sound effects okay, music so-so
❌Driving model is trivial
❌Stupid AI that is unable to win against us
❌Driving physics is non-existent
❌Empty map that you don't want to drive on
❌Very limited multiplayer mode
❌Pointless car upgrades that make it even easier to win races (even though it's trivial anyway)
[b]Rating: 4/10

ATTENTION!
Please note that this is only my evaluation and opinion of the game. If you do not agree with it or think that the game deserves a higher or lower rating, please leave a comment and I will be happy to respond.
Ubisoft is undeniably awful and I hold no love for them, but this ended up possibly being the best dollar I ever spent. I got it originally because the discount was just too much to pass up but didn't expect to enjoy it nearly as much as I have and will continue to do. This title made me realize I love racing games.
I don't know how deep any of the activities are compared to the competition in the genre but it's pure good fun. There's lots of variety in event types and tons of vehicles with impressive customization. The drawbacks are that the characters are insufferable, just about every line of dialog is cringe inducing and the voice acting is wretchedly bad — but fortunately none of that matters in a game like this. Maybe that's a plus if you can laugh at it, but for me skipping just about all of it is mandatory.
Just turn up the music and drive! Or fly! Or sail.
Purchased for $1.60 and refunded. It's like a shitty Forza horizons. I genuinely really enjoyed my time with the Crew but this sequel doesn't keep any of the good from the original and feels like it's not play tested.
The first "race" I started from the main menu was a 15 min highway drive that was less fun and less stimulating than my commute to work.
I'm not going to take time to write a good review. You should just get off this store page and find a better game.
very nice game, good story and races, just not very optimised
Ubisoft logo is an upside view of sht that's for sure
the game is so RAW
it has an 8gb game graphics but in 60gb !
poor drifting mechanism idk maybe nfs heat raises my expectations
not worth even for 0.98$
Just lost through the start of the game, no instructions, no nothing, you are free to roam around in the low graphics environment from the 2010's. I bought this game on discount, otherwise I wouldn't recommend buying this game.
Desperate attempt to drive up player count, this game is made for kids, I would play it for a while, but the game is just really mid with its content and uninteresting, the menu is also a nightmare to navigate, if you want a good arcade racing game that's actually fun to play, get NFS Unbound.
This game is amazing.
From the gameplay to the lore, this game is for casual and hardcore gamers alike. The lore is extremely rich and deep and it will keep you invested. I recommend this to anyone.
It doesn't matter for how much you get the game. The fact that Ubisoft sells The Crew 2 for 1€ is disgusting. To me it's just a simple cash grab because their new games aren't selling that well and they need to make some money.
Sure, for 1€ the game will offer you a lot of "fun", but the fact that you maybe paid for The Crew 1, which is no longer playable. The Crew 1 is much better than this one, is just sad.
What I like about this game is that I can cruise all over the United States using 3 types of vehicles and I don't care about the racing. The missions in the stories are also very unique but unfortunately they are all the same type, just looking for locations from the map. Lastly, the thing I really hate is Ubisoft Launcher!
Update: I refunded this game—not because I needed my $4 back, but out of sheer frustration. Ubisoft doesn’t deserve it for what felt like an unnecessarily painful experience.
I grabbed The Crew 2 for a dollar, thinking it would be a fun, low-stakes game to enjoy with my kids. Expectations were low because, well, $1. But even with the bar set that low, this game somehow managed to underdeliver. What we thought would be a quick, fun multiplayer session turned into a confusing, frustrating mess that left us baffled.
Here’s the thing—we never even got to the multiplayer. Between the absurdly confusing menus and being forced through tutorial missions that drag on and on, we couldn’t even figure out how to set up a basic multiplayer session. It makes no sense. After nearly an hour of trying to navigate through the cluttered, poorly designed menus, we gave up. And believe me, I’ve had waterboarding training that was less torture than this.
Ubisoft still has the audacity to charge $49.99 for this game. That's $50 for a product that can’t even guide players through its most basic functions. They even have the nerve to offer Special and Gold editions at $59.99 and $89.99, but I can't for the life of me figure out what you're actually paying for with those.
The driving mechanics are another headache. The cars handle like oversized bouncy balls, with physics that are laughably bad for a driving game. Every attempt to enjoy the driving experience feels like a fight with the controls. To add insult to injury, there’s a 60 FPS lock, which feels outdated and unnecessary, especially when better performance is standard in so many other games.
And then there’s the world itself. It’s big, sure—but it’s empty, bland, and devoid of any meaningful interaction. Ubisoft built a massive map but forgot to fill it with anything interesting or engaging. It feels like a missed opportunity on every level.
The worst part is, this game pushes microtransactions like they’re doing you a favor. Even after charging $50, they still try to squeeze more money out of players. If you want to progress faster or get better vehicles, guess what? You’re expected to pay more. It’s clearly designed to milk every penny out of players rather than delivering a solid experience upfront.
In the end, this game feels unfinished and outdated. Ubisoft should be embarrassed to still sell this at full price. I’m writing this not for me—I’ve already refunded it—but as a warning to anyone thinking of buying it. Save your money and your time, even if it’s on sale for $1.
There’s no justifying the current price tag, and Ubisoft should seriously reconsider what they’re asking people to pay for this incomplete experience.
The game itself is pretty decent.
However:
- Premium currency, skins locked behind a paywall, vehicles locked behind paywall, pay to skip grind
- Battleye (no linux support included)
- FPS cap at 60
- ubisoft app constantly failing to synchronize some bs on a 1gbps connection
- No ability to play the game offline
- If you go afk for a few minutes (even if you're paused in a menu screen) the game will decide to kick you out into the main menu
- Lack of tutorials and explanations of core game systems, the tutorials that do exist don't actually explain anything and feel more like placeholders.
- Can't sort vehicles in the catalog, and the filters are pretty much useless.
- Always present mail envelope icon in the top left, which means: "nothing" if only they knew a better way to communicate you have no messages..
- AI blatantly cheating, driving impossible lines, gaining speed on sharp turns, being unaffected by obstacles.
I bought this game, played a few hours - it was okay. Sure the menu layout was totaly nonsens, and the game kinda looks like some college kids made it in their pas-time to earn a few bucks, but what ever - it was only one buck. The shit part is that I was able to use my unlocked cars from the first game at first, but wait: The next day the server crashed while I was playing and when I got back all my cars were gone. Those suckers put them into the season pass or what ever the fuck they are calling it. They are like, "hah our company is so fucked, we dont even try to hide it when we lock free content behind pay walls all of a sudden!"
I am not even angry because of this game I payed literally one single buck for. I am angry because this is clearly how this clearly corrupt company does business and shows how fucked we are if we let the corporations get away with their pointless capitalism. They dont even have the decency to try to hide it anymore. This is how the careless baby-boomers back then fucked us for the next 150 years while trying to fill the emptiness in their lives with making money and trowing it away again for senseless shit they never needed. They fucked up the emancipation of women the same way by still not giving a damn about their daughters, but I am getting carried away now...
This right here was the last straw. I am done with Ubisoft. Fuck their unnecessary and broken launcher and their never-changing franchises! They dont even try to hide the fact that they lock content behind paywalls..! You want me to buy your season pass or what ever? You better bend over for my money. Nintendo faced mf. Who is still keeping those companies afloat anyways?
We should pack those boomers and send them back to the 70s where they can fuck each other all over again to be able to buy their cuckolding wifes jewelry or what ever their stupid motivation was back then.
I swear on everything I know that I am never gonna buy or play any Ubitrash games ever again - even if it is for free! Lets be hones; hey are all C-grade products anyways - so that is not a loss.
"I hope Ubisoft feels comfortable selling their games for $1.00", that's what they're worth - and thanks to anti-cheat this game won't even open on Linux - I really hope your market share sinks like the Titan submarine, Ubisoft! - I will never forgive you for taking The Crew out of my library!
Ubisoft will have to spend a lot of money on bots and immoral YouTubers' trips to Ubisoft Land
even for 1 buck don't buy it ubisoft should be paying ME for putting up with their shitty greedy marketing tactics and none working servers and services
98% off is still not worth it.
Reminder: The Crew has a full single player campaign that Ubisoft no longer lets you play, because they say so.
I'm not playing The Crew 2 so you can do that again in a few years. You don't even get to keep my $1, Ubisoft.
Absolutely unacceptable.
Not even worth the dollar it was on sale for, save your time and play a porn game :(
"You have been disconnected from The Crew® 2 servers. Please contact customer support with the exact following error code for further troubleshooting"
JUST MAKE THIS GAME OFFLINE ALREADY, WE DON'T CARE ABOUT LEADERBOARDS, WE JUST WANT TO PLAY THE DAMN GAME!!!
It requires a UBIsoft account to play.
Then it took forever to update a BattleEye something.
And, the time spent on creating the account and updating counts as my play time!?
Hate this kind of shxt.
------
I managed to get everything ready eventually. However, after clicking on "CONTINUE" on the startup menu, I got a black screen, then after two to three minutes of waiting, an error message popped up which reads "You have been disconnected from the server. ......."
It's the worst-ever game play experience one can get.
Another ubicuck failure ass game , Good thing i only bought it for $2 . If you want to enjoy being dizzy all the time , This game is for you .
The best thing about this game? Uninstalled! Nice graphics though and shetty driving aswell , 10/10 Massive shet 😎
