Really fun gameplay, but I could never bring myself to see it to the finish, maybe that says something about the story.

while the core mechanic is fun, the game is VERY repetetive. after the first zone you have seen it all and the story is not very original,. For hardcore mad max fans it's probably worth the time, but that's about it.

Honestly, it's a really fun but mediocre game. Get it on a discount.

Multiple bugs in scripting, confusing progression, terrible tutorials, imprecise controls (and yet, there's a lot of combat dependent on precise control), constant grind (especially now that online services are offline), boilerplate plot so bare-bones that it might as well not been there at all, horrible races (thankfully mostly optional) and even more horrible level design for those races and some car-based levels (it's too easy to get stuck on a wall during car combat).
Also in a game set in a universe known for car combat, there's remarkably little of it.

Despite all this, the game is really fun and dynamic, locations are varied and the grind doesn't get tedious too quickly. I've also got to commend voice acting and characters, the car combat system (simple, yet enjoyable) and the atmosphere and worldbuilding - these are worldclass and are a strong expansion on the universe of Mad Max

if you like a game where the ending makes the entirety of what you did in game meaningless then its just the game for you

Fun game with a good story, easy combat and great fun in the cars.

A fun open world game, with a mix of Arkham Asylum and far cry. It's not the most deep experience. But it's a fun world to play in, with plenty to explore. The few main characters feel fleshed out, and the challenge threatening.

The game looks really good, the visuals and atmosphere are very much like the movies. The sounds are also fantastic, the bass of the big engines are exquisite!

Overall a fantastic ride, you can get over 40 hours of playtime if you are fanatical about collecting things, but if you are a normal person you should be able to finish the whole thing in about 20. Its just a ton of fun to be had and this Mad Max follows his namesake well.

have beat this game 3 times. driving the car is amazing, and the brutal way you lay enemies out with your bare hands is amazing. Truly a 7/10 game that I like more than some 8/9 rated games.

One of the best ever story games I've played. The only issue is that it lacks difference in the bosses. They are very similar to each other in almost every way. Would've been a 10/10 if it wasn't for this. Still a solid 9.5/10.

On sale, this game is a steal.

Immersive, solid presentation. This game feels like the dev played and probably even enjoyed it.

Having caught the bug for the aesthetic from Furiosa, this game really nails a lot of the feel. While some mechanics will underwhelm, they keep the pace of going along well and don't punish you with janky or frustrating situations.

Though, be warned, the Death Race gamemode is really tightly coded and has some evil racing AI. Just keep in mind that ramming them first negates damage you would take from them, EVEN in the suicide buggy.

This game is incredible. From start to end the story was compelling and the gameplay was exceptionally fun. 10/10 Experience. I got it on sale for 3.99 but is well worth the full price of 19.99.

A rough diamond from 2015. Tries a little too hard to be an Ubisoft game (with all that implies), but the car combat is a joy, and the story is solid.

Some unfortunate design choices in some of the moment to moment gameplay, but well worth a playthrough.

It's chaos and carnage in this Mad Max open world title, and a whole lot of it! The game world is massive and you'll be driving around blowing a lot of shit up. It's very fun, and has a ton of upgrades for Max, your bases, and vehicles so there is a solid amount of content. There are plenty of side activities like races, hideouts, and miscellaneous waste-lander missions, not to mention an insane amount of collectibles. It reminds me a lot of a Ubisoft open world title, say Assassin's Creed or Far Cry. Not only are the control schemes very similar, but is also extremely alike in it's "RPG elements" These devs did make the Just Cause titles after all and it definitely has that same vibe too, a good cross overall.

As for the not so great:

The story is kinda basic, the world while huge is quite barren (which makes sense), and the game-play loop is fairly repetitive, but they still manage to make it an absolute blast just zippin' around through the badlands stumbling upon all sorts of crazy mayhem.

Satisfying vehicle and hand-to-hand combat, though it's a bit repetitive. You'll still enjoy it because of the combos. It has great vehicle modifications and a pretty big map. You should enjoy playing all the side missions before finishing the main mission. This is an underrated game!

This is an excellent game. Worth every bit of the 3.99 that I've seen it on sale for. Even the 19.99 I see it's down to at regular price is a deal. I paid more, and don't regret it for a moment.

As for gameplay, think arkham night with car and car customisation.

Since everything has gotten so bad, I've gone back to the old titles. It's unbelievably refreshing to play as a masculine hetero male and just kill bad guys. It has some jank but I find that endearing. I forgot games were supposed to be fun. I got this on a deep discount well worth what I paid for it.

Driving through the desert. I came across a den of wild ones on a plateau. Killed them all. Suddenly I saw a nibbled body, went to him, pressed E. Some kind of cutscene started. For some reason I thought that it was a familiar person to Max, that now he would sit and remember him with sadness, saying that this is how fate sadly dealt with him

Beside the story itself

This is one of the best games I've played in a long time, and it's almost a decade old! It reminds me of Red Faction and Far Cry. The fist fighting never gets old, seeing bones break, necks snap, body slams, drop kicks, etc. It literally never gets old. This is an amazing game if you like open world games where you reduce threat in regions to weaken the grip the enemies have on a territory. Yeah, the fetch quest such as taking out enemy camps and tearing down enemy signs/towers gets old, but the quest are all unique and fun. Plus the enemy variants are all pretty cool and unique. The Death Runs are really hard and tricky to find out just how the best way to go about them, but so rewarding once you get it right. Mad Max is fun to build and become the Road Warrior he's meant to be. I recommend this game, even if it's not on sale; it's that good!

It's a bit grindy, but the driving is fun, the world is fascinating (and insane), and the combat is - while simple - meaty and satisfying.

Mad Max is an excellent game. It is a beautiful open world with amazing vehicle and body combat. The story is a little lacking, but it holds to the Mad Max movie formula. When you hit someone, you hit them hard. It feels so good to get the harpoon to level 4 and rip the tires off of someones car while they are trying to chase you down. So much fun!!

One of the best open world games I've played. The game itself is beautiful to look at and I am constantly finding myself in photo mode. The main reason why I bought this game was because it has photo mode. As a photographer, I love to capture moments when I am playing. Moving around and playing as Max feels really smooth. Even doing simple things such as jumping feels natural. Oh, and you can harpoon enemies and drag them around in the sand with your car. Mad Max didn't disappoint me. Also, there is lots of sand in this game.

one of the best (and underrated) open world games of all time. the combat is excellent. the driving is fun and there are tons of options to customize. the survival mechanics are simple and fun to maintain. just an overall great game with a ton of content and its almost always on sale for under $10

this game is the ultimate,its still in my top 5 of all time greats and i been gaming for 40 years and for £3 well what are you waiting for.

This game wasn't really known about and i just bought it because it was pretty cheap and it ended up being a blast. Brutal hand to hand combat and a fully customizable car combined with an open world, what more could you want.

most underrated open world game by a mile and its not even close, the world feels desolate and empty and to some people thats a downer but thats how the movies are as well, an empty wasteland where you get to fight others for every scrap of metal, food, fuel and ammo you can get to keep on going.

I wish it was shorter.
But the worldbuilding is top class and you'll screenshot every bleak, desolate, beautiful place.

I love this game! I'm not really a car guy, but I absolutely love the car upgrading and just driving around with the sound of the engine roaring. The world design and every unique location are fantastic. Chumbucket is the GOAT... If I had to choose between saving him or keeping my car, I’d 100% let him survive!

I cant seem to get enough of this game. Its a tad repetitive, but its still wildly fun. The story and characters are great. I absolutely love Chumbucket. And I love being able to build my own Wasteland Roadster and get into car combat. The rest is survival action where you need to conserve resources and fight to get more. They Nailed It with this game. Its practically everything I wanted from a MAD MAX game. This game will still be great 20 years from now.

This is a game I was very nostalgic for, but playing it through again after all these years made me realize this game was shit. Incredibly tedious and game mechanics are boring, fighting is just spamming 2 keys.

The Avalanche studios classic: most of the game is stellar, but it's capped off with the worst conclusion you could ever comprehend and a hellish undertaking for anyone seeking to 100%. Go for it.

I loved the Mad Max: Fury Road movie, and this game let's me live that in a video game. The shader work portraying the heat and wasteland is worth it alone.

I really can't endorse how repetitive this game is. The setting is cool and the character is badass, but the melee combat is sub-par (play Batman Arkham instead) and the driving is so bad compared to others (play Cyberpunk or RAGE instead). What broke me into quitting this game is the damn mission that warns you your vehicle must be strong and encourage you to go and get scrap and upgrade your vehicle. I found that very boring and left it there. The story is that bad that I don't think I'm missing much.

Very solid game. I love any game where spend the whole game upgrading one vehicle. Need more games that have that feature!

This game is OK. Never at any time I have felt that there's goos challenge in this game, kind a casual play. The story could be better, with some kind of challenge its very straightforward. Bosses fight is very repetitive, and easy. Final boss felt very anticlimactic. Would not play again, but probably worth ti get once on the discount.
