Completed videos can be uploaded directly from the Rockstar Editor to YouTube and the Rockstar Games Social Club for easy sharing.
Soundtrack artists The Alchemist and Oh No return as hosts of the new radio station, The Lab FM. The station features new and exclusive music from the production duo based on and inspired by the game’s original soundtrack. Collaborating guest artists include Earl Sweatshirt, Freddie Gibbs, Little Dragon, Killer Mike, Sam Herring from Future Islands, and more. Players can also discover Los Santos and Blaine County while enjoying their own music through Self Radio, a new radio station that will host player-created custom soundtracks.

Story and Characters:
While the three protagonists are interesting, the overall story feels disjointed and lacks the emotional depth of previous GTA titles like GTA IV. The satire and humor, while entertaining, can feel over-the-top and repetitive, making it hard to connect with the narrative.
Mission Design:
Many missions follow a similar formula: drive somewhere, shoot enemies, and escape. While there are standout heist missions, a lot of the gameplay can feel repetitive, especially for players who aren’t fans of open-world fetch quests.
Controls and Mechanics:
The controls, particularly for shooting and driving, can feel clunky and outdated compared to more modern games. The cover system is serviceable but not as smooth as in dedicated shooters.
Conclusion:
Grand Theft Auto V is a well-crafted game with a lot to offer, but it might not live up to the hype for everyone. Its open world and production values are impressive, but the repetitive mission design, lack of innovation, and shallow story can make it feel like an average experience. For players seeking a deep, narrative-driven game or groundbreaking gameplay, GTA V might fall short. However, for those who enjoy sandbox-style chaos and multiplayer shenanigans, it’s still a solid choice.
Rating: 7/10
A good game, but not necessarily a must-play for everyone.
A great game being brought down by a greedy company. until they remove the creepy kernel level anti cheat go spend your money else where, it isnt worth being stalked by rockstar.
I've now played over 8000 hours of GTAV, most of it in GTA Online. The single player story is such a dim memory I can't comment on it, so I will write about GTAO. It's fun to screw around in with friends. But the actual gameplay is awful- missions are all terribly designed, with too much linearity in the newer ones: drive this car to go to this place to kill this guy with this weapon. No don't use that weapon, you'll fail. Stand on this exact pixel to interact with this computer (the character movement is incompatible with such precision). Have a stealth mission, with the worst stealth mechanics of any game ever made.
Skill issue, I know. I am bad at almost everything in this game- I can't shoot, can't fly, can barely drive. But I have no incentive to improve at those things. I collect cars and play with outfits for my character, and do the bare minimum to afford more of that. But R* doesn't want me to be able to afford those things without spending real money, which I will not do (I bought the game itself in 2015, that's enough). Now, in 2025, even the blandest street cars they add cost millions of GTA$.
All the genuine fun I had in GTAO was with friends, trolling random people in public sessions while we made fun of them in voice chat, but the complete lack of anticheat for most of the game's life eventually ruined that. Now they have a real anticheat- that I have no faith in- but my friends have long since moved on to other games. I suspect yours have, too.
Why do I need an anti-cheat system to play the single player campaign? Unreal...
Great game, trash company. I'll never buy another Rockstar game again. Refused to help unlinking an old Rockstar account with an email that no longer exists from my Steam account I use daily.
Grand Theft Auto V – Great Game, But Not Without Issues
GTA V offers an amazing single-player experience with a well-written story, fun missions, and a detailed open world. The gameplay is smooth, and Los Santos feels alive with plenty to do.
GTA Online has tons of content, but it's heavily grindy, filled with toxic players using Oppressor Mk IIs, and plagued with cheaters and modders, especially on PC. Bugs and connection issues are still common, and loading times remain frustratingly long. Rockstar’s focus on microtransactions also hurts the experience.
The single-player is worth it, but GTA Online can be frustrating unless you play with friends.
the best game i played , best story , best multiplayer and its even better if we play using fivem
A modding group took years to transfer the Liberty City map to GTA V Single Player, only for Rockstar to hit them with a Cease and Desist. This rash of bad decisions has gone too far. I won't be supporting GTA 6 until this hostile action against the modding community ends. I bet they won't even release a GTA 4 remaster, making this C&D pointless. Look up The Liberty City Preservation Project to see what they are taking away.
i would say we all should boycott not only gta online but every take two games , if they are going to fight modding community then we should fight back , im asking to who ever see this comment to please boycott take two and leave negative respond ,
our russian friends spend many hours for making gta vice city next gen mod only for making us happy .
i guess we have to help them to fight back at least
Love the game but it barely works because of the terrible Rockstar launcher they force on you. I lost access to the game for nearly a year due to an error with the launcher as well.
Multiplayer doesn't work since Rockstar can't toggle a simple switch button for enabling BattlEye on Linux
You HAVE TO install their spyware, BattleEye, to be able to launch the game, regardless of whether it is SOLO mode or not.
It will scan all your documents in the background and be able to update at any time without notifying you.
I know we can put --nobattleye as a parameter when launching the R* launcher. But it should have been set as the default instead of forcing players to spend time on Google just to find a solution for disabling this stupid, disgusting spyware.
You got exactly what you deserved. -> NOT RECOMMENDED
If your rockstar account is lost or hacked you have no way of ever playing your rockstar games again. your unable to change accounts as its locked to your steam through the launcher, and rock star has absolutely no support, THIS IS WHY I CONDONE PIRACY
can not play online properly their servers always have issues and always have hackers. Constantly getting stuck in endless loading screens. Terrible de-sync between players and teleporting/rubber banding.
Changing your policy to require a kernel level anti-cheat even for story mode is a bad move. I could understand it for Online, but I only play story mode by myself.
Please stop adding in software that could potentially be exploited to do anything it wants on my PC.
I recommend this game only for its single player content, it builds on the older games of the GTA series and vastly improved loads of mechanics, there are more things to do, main stories are more polished, and modding it gives the game more single player potential and versatility, it's a masterpiece of this generation like so many others suggested.
What I'm not impressed and certainly not recommend is the online mode. Online's success seems to have changed rockstar's goals for this game completely. So many assets and stories, characters introduced online could've make amazing DLCs and extend the game's world building. Although Online does essentially the same, a lot of stories that extended beyond the 2013 universe and some crucial game mechanics are locked behind hours of grind or hundreds dollars of shark cards, the only viable passive income source is the night club given most businesses barely break 10k in a days earnings.
The Online's quests for businesses and most of the heists are very solo-unfriendly, Collecting and Selling goods require multiple runs most of the times if your friends aren't online and you are running the game solo, going public sessions and hiring randos to help you is often worse off than doing it yourself because more often than not you'd have bullies who probably got their money off of some shady websites shoot a single rocket and destroy few days worth of grinding, and if you are under level 100 most of the weapons that can be used against them are level locked unless you want to spend a few million and a few weeks buying gun van weapons.
Heists except the Cayo Perico are unplayable if you are solo, and even if you are solo the earnings are limited because suddenly you cant carry more than 3 racks of resources, it is almost as if the devs are proactively trying to annoy you to incentivize shark card sales.
Almost everything online is solo-unfriendly, me and my friends live on different time zones so it's difficult for usto play together, and playing with randos just result in them dying constantly, making you mush PageUp button just for them to call you a slur even though it's their fault and quitting half way. Having friends helps you getting money and level up faster, but it doesn't conceal the fact that the games designers are trying to make it an annoyance to do anything at all, trying to get money is almost like a full time job for people trying to play the game properly and the only ones getting rewarded are cheaters and people who spent a huge sums of money on Shark Cards.
Honestly, playing a game should be a form entertainment, but I don't find online's grinding entertaining at all, it has so many potentials to deliver amazing stories and experiences for players other than being a money pit and a congregation of cheaters and toxic no-life bullies, im sure some of you may have better experiences than me, but well after grinding perico and casino with friends for more than 150 hours, and unlocking mostof the businesses other than the MC ones, I think i'm out.
So yeah to sum up, I cannot in good faith recommend online, it is not made with passion or appreciation of video games as an art form but greed for mooooooooney, the true masterpiece you and most other players deserve is in its offline stories.
fun and nostalgic game. i enjoy the various outfit and vehicle choices. good open world game to get back to after years of not playing it :)
just recently finished the game, it took me like 2 weeks about 3 hour gameplay a day. Best GTA game in my opinion, it's crazy that after 10 year finally i can afford to play it (buy my own PC). Anyway i still play it maybe until reach 90% or something, and then move on to other game maybe The Witcher 3. Second game on PC that i finish after terarria, definetly a good game even tho it's like 10 year old or something.
Slow loading screens (that sometimes don't even work), a community more toxic than a nuclear waste dump, and repetitive missions/heists. I just don't get the hype around this game. Hopefully Rockstar will stop milking this franchise dry and make something new, but they're greedy dirtbags so I highly doubt it. And after all, my dumbass spent money on this game so I'm technically supporting them.
Used to like it, but it is now so full of modders and hackers now that a random guy I dont know just typed "!crash + (my character's name)" and made my restart my whole pc... so even if you are not being grieffed by a kid, you are still being made to have a bad time instead of being able to enjoy the game. Uninstalling after playing on 2 platforms and for nearly 10 years...
I cannot recommend this game anymore. I had fun playing LSPDFR back in the day but the game now requires a rockstar games account to play, even when purchased through Steam. That would be annoying, but acceptable, if your rockstar games and steam accounts were not *permanently linked*. I was informed by Rockstar support after losing access to my old email (they could not give me access to the account even with proof I had purchased the game and knew my old email, username, and etc) that if you unlink your rockstar games and steam accounts you will never be able to play GTA V using either account ever again. That, in my mind, is wholly unacceptable given I cannot even play the game that I paid $60 for anymore. Avoid anything Rockstar makes at all costs.
I already invest 3,000++ Hrs on PS4 and got everything and I tortured myself to get an PC version.
*Tsk* Why im doing this myself?
7/10
-1 for making properties expensives and got like 100k$$ per mission
-1 making millions you need a friend, so not solo friendly
-1 got braindead by grind the same stuff over and over again (Not Cayo, I mean I grind any businesses as possible)
this game used to be decent but i cannot play it on linux anymore and now they have some bullshit extra software on windows (bad enough i have to use windows to play but now extra fucking software just to use) this game is basically unplayable... and why.... i cant log on in linux so why should i have to use dual boot to play one fucking game? and the anticheat software doesnt even work... rock star seriously go fuck yourself
Since 2013, Rockstar has been raking in billions of dollars from Shark Cards and has never released any single-player content for either GTA 5 or RDR2. Now that modders have taken on what fans have long been waiting for, Rockstar’s pride has taken a hit because they’re apparently incapable of producing anything decent in comparison.
Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive hate the GTA community. Taking down mods that are completely free and harmless that people spent years putting hard work into breathing new life into these games. What a despicable company...
I was upset to find out that Rockstar abandoned Single Player DLC for GTA Online but then took the time to make/transfer the entire map of Liberty City to GTA Online, only to cancel its release to GTA Online as well. Now, A Modding group took years to transfer the Liberty City map to GTA V Single Player themselves and then Rockstar decided to hit them with a Cease and Desist. This rash of bad decisions have gone too far. I regret the time I poured into this and any other of their games and I won't be supporting GTA 6 until this hostile action against the modding community ends. I bet they won't even release a GTA 4 remaster so this C&D is pointless. I suggest many others do the same. Look up The Liberty City Preservation Project to see what they are taking away.
Wish I could give more than 1 bad review, Rockstar NEVER fails to ruin the community, taking down the Liberty City mod is a huge slap to the face of not only the players, but to the team that created that mod. This is a huge step back from where this game should be, im sure that mod brought more players to the game than if it wasnt ever created, it brought so many eyes back onto GTA 5
For what it is worth, it is a decent campaign. However, for GTA scale, it is a pretty messed up campaign that cannot or does not want to explore anything, only to poke fun at things.
Completing the campaign felt like a chore for the most part, but just wanted to beat this and have a little box checked — legendary GTAV completed. But turned out that the legendary status is mostly for its Online, in which I am not interested, and the game itself is just not as fun as previous ones.
The next game from Rockstar, Red Dead Redemption 2, is what GTAV dreams of being. Especially on the story side.
Overall, was just not worth 30 hours. Making Franklin the main character would have solved all the issues, imo.
I wanted to play GTA 5, but unfortunately, Rockstar Games disconnected me from my Rockstar account. When I entered the correct email and password, they asked me for a verification code. Unfortunately, the email I have my rockstar games account created with no longer exists, so they sent the verification code to an email I can no longer access. I wrote to their support team, where they required information like my Steam account details, Steam account ID, GTA 5 CD key, and I even sent them the transaction ID since they asked for the purchase email of GTA 5, which I bought in 2016, so I no longer have that email. They also wanted the date when I linked the account, but I don’t know that date either (who would really remember that?).
I think I provided them with enough information, but unfortunately, they said they couldn’t verify that I’m the account owner. I even sent them a screenshot clearly showing that their shitty Rockstar launcher is asking me for an email that no longer exists, and they could see that I can’t use a different email since my Steam is linked to that Rockstar account. Nothing helped.
I contacted their support twice, and both times they rejected my case. Then I logged into my old Rockstar account to use their live chat. The first time, they outright rejected my ticket (I don’t know why), and the second time, I was connected to an employee to whom I explained my situation. He told me they don’t handle this type of problem via live chat and that I should contact them via email support instead. I tried to explain that I already did that twice and was rejected both times, but I didn’t have the chance since the guy wrote, "It was my pleasure assisting you today," and closed the ticket.
It’s been almost a month now, and I still can’t play their games. I’ve tried everything, and nothing works. Their games are great, but their support team is one of the worst.
Lesson learned: If your Rockstar Games account is linked to an email you no longer have access to, change it as soon as possible.
PS: If there is someone who has a similar problem and somehow solved it, please let me know how.
EDIT: okay guys I have an update on my case. I decided to contact rockstar support again and I provided them with all the necessary information. they actually finally helped me to solve my issue. I think the thing that helped me was when they asked me about the date when I linked the account, instead of saying I don't know or how am I supposed to know the exact date, I told them the same date I bought the game and it did passed. please do not lose all the hope, I have still bad opinion on their support team and I've actually even write to them that many people have the same problem as me. please, every time when they will decline or close your ticket, just make a new one and literally spam them. Praying for you to get your accounts back. take care.
I’ve played this game since it came out over 10 years ago. I’ve been on and off for many years and I have many years of this game under my belt. The story mode is great and online is even better. It’s full of toxic players who will whoop your ass and talk shit but that part of the experience and it’ll make you a better player, if you can’t handle it then you should stick to story mode or don’t play it at all.
This game is one of those examples where you can really have fun—whether you’re playing the story mode, going online, or diving into RP. Across all my accounts and platforms, I’ve clocked around 11,000 hours, and I can honestly say it was a blast. Right now, I’m especially into the RP component.
If I had to name one of the best games that exist or have ever existed, this one definitely wouldn’t be at the bottom of the list. Yes, it has its flaws, but they fade into the background once you realize all the advantages it has to offer.
Rockstar added a useless anticheat that breaks linux/proton compatibility with online play. singleplayer in this game is extremely boring so effectively they bricked the game for me.
Every time I launch this title I am required to sign in. This means I have to spend 10 minutes resetting my Rockstar password, which I always forget. Sick of it. None of my other games suffer from this problem, they just launch.
Its a good game but it is up itself. Every time it launches there is some issue. It wants to update the launcher and sign in or something equally pointless and boring. We are talking about a game that released over a decade ago. There is no reason for this hassle. Programs should just execute, simple as.
Also, signing in to Rockstar when you do have the password takes too long for my liking. Fix your server response time please. I shouldn't have to wait.
online is fun when it works 1/50 times... game been online for like 15 years and Retardstar still cant FIX THE FUCKING GAME!!!!!!!
Has anyone figured out how to get GTA online working for Steam? It keeps telling I need Battleeye and sends me in a loop that won't enable Battleye or start up GTA online.
be aware... i got hacked and lost my million dollar account. email service wont do anything about it, nor will rockstar games or steam for that matter. ive had a support ticket open for almost 2 years at this point. steam wont unlink my profile and rockstar games wont unlink my profile. so basically im banned without even doing anything.
Horrible game. Its open world, too many cars, too good of a story, and too memorable. Wouldn't recommend.
GTA V: The Game That’s Stayed Too Long at the Party
(Still Trying to Sell Shark Cards in 2025!)
Review:
GTA V is a masterpiece that’s been part of gaming history for so long, it feels like a family heirloom. I’ve sunk 350+ hours on Steam and probably over 2000 hours on other consoles. And yes, I’ve bought the same game four times, but it was totally worth it—Rockstar should really send me a loyalty card at this point. It’s been 11+ years of chaos, heists, and me wondering, “Why is that guy shooting at me? I didn’t even do anything… this time.”
Why I Loved It:
- The open world is insane. From cruising the streets of Los Santos to hiking up Mount Chiliad, I’ve done it all—including driving my car off a cliff (on purpose), landing in a river, and somehow surviving. I once tried to parachute onto a moving train but instead splatted onto a billboard for life insurance. 10/10 would recommend.
- Heists are pure adrenaline. Planning a mission, yelling at friends, and somehow blaming everyone else when it all goes wrong—chef’s kiss.
- I’ve spent more time customizing cars in Los Santos Customs than I’ve spent changing the oil in my real car. Priorities.
Why It’s Special:
GTA has always been around. It’s not just a game; it’s part of gaming culture. It’s something special that’s been with me since my childhood, starting with GTA Vice City. I’ve loved every game in the series, and I’m so glad Rockstar left the heavy water-tank cars of GTA 4 behind.
As much as I love GTA V, it’s time to pass the torch. The hype for GTA 6 is unreal, and I’m confident it’ll be the next big thing. It’s time to get your crime empires ready—because when GTA 6 drops, the chaos begins all over again.
Why It’s Time for GTA 6:
- GTA V is so old, I feel like Trevor should be collecting a retirement check—and at this point, his beard probably looks like it’s been through an M-lab explosion.
- Updates can only carry a game so far. Rockstar, we’re ready!
[*] After 11+ years, even the NPCs look tired of me stealing their cars.
Final Thoughts:
GTA V will always have a special place in my heart. It’s the game that kept me entertained for over a decade, gave me endless memories, and made me laugh more times than I can count. But now, it’s time for the next chapter. Rockstar, bring on GTA 6—we’re ready for the chaos.
Rating: 9/10 – "A game so good, it’s outlived three of my consoles and maybe even my patience."
I liked this game until the battleye launcher, it just never made the game launch after, I get why they added it so people don't cheat but some people can't even play it (me included), was very fun until it stopped working, waste of money.
it's a fantastic game with good plot, characters and combat/driving. mods make the game 1000x more fun and help with some things/have fun. if you want a good rockstar game... this is where you start.
The hours I have in this game are probably less than half of what is shown here on Steam.
That is for the same reason why 100% of Italian Chefs get heartbrokenly envious when they take a look at the absolute Spaghetti Code of this.
(The task always remains open after you close the game, except if you do the holy trinity of "end game", Alt-F4 and "Terminate Process". Until you do this, it keeps counting time too.)
(not to mention countless other bugs, but who cares, it is what it is.)
Regarding the game itself, there is really no need to say anything about it as probably everyone knows it.
Fun with friends tho.
very gut game.
i spawn in.
get free car.
go too mission.
complete mission.
get money (500k).
thinking i am rich now.
looking at what i can afford.
realising that i am extremely broke.
drives around.
gets blown up.
respawns.
steals random car of the street.
drives that around for a while.
minding my own buisnes.
modder gives me five stars and i get killed by a tank.
go to casino.
gamble half of my money.
walk outside.
get blown up again
10/10 game would recomend
Story is good, in online you can also sink in alot of time, but theres alot of cheaters and you will be just doing the same mission every hour.
After 5000 hours of gameplay maybe it's time to write a review :) Great game, met some amazing people online, a few very disturbed ones, and way too many annoying modders. The big updates are probably a thing of the past, but after 10+ years it's still amazing that Rockstar keeps it alive with new missions and QoL updates. I still find myself coming back every now and then and enjoy the game.
gta 6 about to come out, and i just bought gta v. But its a great game frfr
every online game i played had modders but story mode still great
Some say GTA games are the best city destruction sims, but I play them because of the story. I did cosplay Rampage a couple of times though, and I confess I did some funny things to the corpses (in the game), but the rest of the time, I behaved like a decent citizen. The fifth GTA game was the most story-rich for me and the only game I completed more than once. Also I would like to thank this game for contributing to my music playlist, the radio here is just good.
lovely game if you get off on being constantly greifed. since new shitty anticheat there has somehow been more cheaters. ROCKSTAR LET THIS GAME FUCKING DIE AND STOP RUINING A PERFECTLY GOOD GAME PRICKS.
Story is excellent.
Online is full of sweats and modders.
Anyways its a really good game and a steal for 15€.
This game seems to have a 30% chance of crashing every black screen, and it’s not even my PC. I run 240 in the game. Also, half my heists don’t give me money because of cloud errors. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, PLEASE LISTEN! This game has so many bugs and little places you can get stuck on; if you alt-tab too fast on Windowed, your game eventually freezes for a few minutes, randomly, you get animation locked, your Kasatka randomly spawns on land, your Oppressor can randomly kill you. AND LAST OF ALL! THE MAN TRAP IN THE DIAMOND CASINO HEIST IS REAL! and so so so much more. This game is entertaining, don't get me wrong, but Rockstar, please fix it 🥺
