Craft your Escape!
Being in prison forces you to be creative and work with the limited tools at your disposal. You’ll have to combine everyday objects like soap and socks to craft new weapons and tools to help you achieve your goal. Steal forks from the cafeteria to chip a tunnel in your room, and craft a poster from magazines and duct tape to hide the evidence. You’ll soon learn that duct tape solves (almost) everything!
Prepare for a fight!
The Escapists 2 introduces a brand new combat system to make every prison brawl more exciting and interactive. You’ll have to block and tie together chains of attacks whilst strafing around your locked on targets to gain the upper hand in combat. Make sure your visit the gym first to build up those muscles!

As the prisons get tougher you’re going to have to get more creative with your escape plans. There’s a ton of options to tackle almost any prison escape.
Construct a clink!
With the Prison Map Editor, it’s your turn to construct a prison worthy of housing the toughest inmates! It includes all the rooms, fences and guard dogs you need to build a prison that’s as hard as your imagination makes it – no duct-tape required.
You can pick up those prison blueprints and start crafting your own creations through the Custom Prisons option on the main menu, and when you’re ready you can show the world by sharing them through Steam Workshop where you can download subscribe to fellow architects’ lock-ups – all custom maps can be played either solo or in both local and online multiplayer!

**A great game, both solo and co-op!**
The game boasts plenty of maps, allowing for differing strategy and gameplay, with unique environments and escapes.
The game boasts well designed maps that dont feel empty nor cramped, along with a well stocked library of craftable items, cosmetics, quests and scenery, making every session enjoyable and non-grindy.
The goal of the game is to ofcourse, escape prisons. Every map has multiple ways to get out, fitting the maps environment and setting, some with a larger touch of humor, like shooting yourself from a canon ;). You CAN search up how to escape online, but I find figuring out how to get out via the hints scatterd throughout the map, comprised of arrows, notes in tucked away rooms, dialogue, quests and the crafting menu to be much more enjoyable. Whether you simply want to beat up the entire prison, plan a methodical escape or simply bust through a wall, this game along with its low price point is a great purchase.
The art style combined with the sound design makes the game beautiful as well, while requiring a very low end PC.
If you want to get a preview of some gameplay before purchasing (which you should) you should check out Blitz and BaronVonGames Co-Op series of the game, and if you need tutorials, TheRealGuruMatt is a great channel for that!
Also, sidenote, if you find yourself enjoying the game, I heavily reccomend the DLC's, especially the Wicked Ward DLC. The map along with the escapes offer a great experience.
Game is too hard for newcomers, yes it was all my skills issues.
On top of that sometimes the game get buggy when connection is unstable there's multiple time of prison break impossible to happen because of this bug. It take us multiple games just to diagnose what was the problem.
This bug where the person that have been having connection issues in any given time on the game, will cannot be able to escape later from the prison in the end. Due to some interaction with the objects cannot be met or happens.
Overall not recommended to people who are new to the genre such as myself

Really fun! I really liked escaping some prisons and its a major overhaul of the first escapists

Game of my childhood. Realy recomend if you like chalenges and making strategies.
Its remarkable how a guard wont even lift a finger for doing heinous acts to your fellow prisoner. but if i put soap in my socks its a lockdown.
It's simple. It's fun. It has co-op, and local co-op. My wife and I have had fun playing around in the prison scenarios. However, the game does very little to teach you how to play it. Even the crafting menu is just icons - no names or descriptions. So if you don't know what something is or how to use it, you pretty much have to go to the internet. Having said that, we still had fun building a massive tunnel for no real reason.
The game could use a good polish, but it won't be getting that. If you can look past the rough edges and learn as you go, the game offers some good fun.

Have fun waiting 17 days for some item that you need to randomly spawn in a desk. Fuck this game. Fuck the people who made this game. Fuck anyone who likes this game.
The Escpaists 2 is just one of those games you could spend hours and so on solely going room by room with your friends avoiding the good guys lol, get ahold of a comfy cushion on your chair for hard mode. 10/10 would recomend.
Extremely fun adventure-strategy game. There's a LOT of ways to escape, and you'll have to be patient.

I open up a local game and wanted to play with my controller but all the time id get splitscreen PLEASE ADD A OPTION TO TURN IT OFF, second i dont blame the devs but my solution was open a public lobby and i forgot to add a pin, some people joined and they all started to attack me outta of a sudden, i tried attacking back but they were a bit good and alot lucky and i got my ass woop all the time, play it with this on your mind.

played this for prob 200 hours on xbox before getting it on pc, i would highly recommend this game, my only real complaint with it is the dogs are kind of annoying, also the map editor is pretty limiting (only 2 themes, you can only use 2 floors + roof & vents), but other than that, this game is so good imo. 9.5/10.
Very fun to play both with friends and singleplayer.
This had the potential to be a very good game but there is one major problem, some escapes can only be done in singleplayer and some only in multiplayer and guess what, you dont know wich one is wich until you are at the end of a game, and thats when it tells you that you have wasted your time(wich can be a couple of hours per map).
If i buy a game that says singleplayer/co op i expect to be able to beat it using either of the methods not having a part of the game locked off if playing singleplayer or having to kick a player out so only one of you can complete the escape. Or the developers could have spent couple of minutes to write next to the escape options which ones can you complete in what mode, only because of the lazines of the developers to impliment such a simple quality of life feature am i giving it a thumbs down.
I didn't find it enjoyable, felt kinda like doing chores, just not a game for me.
The craft tree is pretty cool, but the blending in and then sneaking about to get items feels like a slog. I imagine it's much better in multiplayer because you can chat while you do the 'boring stuff'.
commit crime in jail and not get punished. very good strategic game and is very good and cheap. 10/10 would definatly recommened especialy if u have friends

how to scream once the heat gets to 100 and you have items that you need to rely heavily to escape
If you are thinking about buying this game, don't hesitate!
It's really really intuitive, not really difficult but you should pay attention to your materials and what you can do with them. Now, the real experience of this game comes with friends (you can play with random people but of course it's not the same), this way you have to work together to fight guards, get crafting stuff and eventually escape the prison.
Maybe I'm a bit biased cuz I used to play this game a lot with a friend on my xbox when we were younger but now that we managed to buy it on steam I can say that the experience is wonderful, give it a try ;)
Verry fun, but lots of moders... the game is easily modable. but super fun!!! my laptop couldnt handle it but my desktop could.
I would tap one of the Security Guards they were looking a little extra thick that day so i had to slap that gyatt and I ended up getting tackled by her 10/10 game would recommend
Good game, fun to play with friends. would recommend getting game on sale incase you don't enjoy the more lengthy aspects.

Game's fun for some time but it does get boring after a while. I bought this game while it was on discount, it quickly got boring and was a waste of money. It's quite competitive, it is just breaking out of prison every single time. I already played the mobile version of this game, completed everything so there isn't anything I can do in this game. If this is your first time playing this game then it should be pretty fun.

The Escapists is a fun little experience. The prison-escape sandbox is a great idea for a game and the idea is executed well. However, the major sticking point of this game is the repetitiveness of the gameplay. Every prison escape follows the same broad strokes and it becomes a bit boring after a while. The unique escapes are a really good idea, however, which adds a nice bit of spice to the formula. I'm not too hot, however, on some escapes being locked behind multiplayer. The transport prisons are a fun bit little bit of something else, though they don't really match the quality of the regular prisons. I think I'd cut some of the prisons and make the game a nice little 10-hour jaunt. All in all, if you like a bit of strategic gameplay and the prison-escape genre, the game will make a nice little pickup. 3/5
