It's pretty much the same as the non-remixed version only with a couple more songs, but without the bonus DLC mode.
The bonus DLC mode is in my opinion worth more than the extra songs, so play the original first, and then if you still want more you can give this version a try as well.
The main reason I'm giving this game a negative review is because it has broken achievements. If you care about achievements do not get this game.
The broken achievements are Destroyer Deluxe and Blockography.
Update: The broken achievements were fixed so I'm changing my review to a thumbs up, however I still recommend getting the non-remixed version over this one.
[Edited this review to account for new changes and response from developer]
This game seemed interesting being a mixture of a puzzle and a rhythm game, but even if you ignore some of the game's current bugs it mostly feels like a much slower version of Tetris with some background music that doesn't impact the game much.
The music itself is mostly bland and too calm. It was putting me to sleep at times, which is typically not good for a rhythm game. This music is fine background music for just a puzzle game but the problem is this isn't just a puzzle game this is also, more so, supposed to be a rhythm game. Rhythm games usually keep players engaged by making players feel like they're performing the music themselves in one way or another but in this game the music is just a timer to the end of the puzzle and an annoyance you have to deal with to clear matches.
There's some small bugs with controller support too, but that's fine because this game isn't listed as having controller support yet. The dev is working to fix the issues it has currently with those it seems and then I'm guessing once those are addressed the store page will list it as having controller support.
The settings menu lacks any option to adjust volumes currently. I've never, in my life, played a rhythm game that doesn't let you change your volume settings. I suggest the dev implements that in a future update but until then players will have to use their computer's volume control on the app itself if needed.
The game has a campaign mode that's a 30 minute game where you play 10 songs that are 3 minutes each and try to not die from the puzzle until the 30 minutes are up. I didn't get to finish it because there's a bug currently where if you fail a song later on in the campaign, it tries to restart from that song but ends up playing two or three songs over each other. It got so incredibly annoying that I ended up opening my computers volume control and just muting the game. Then after playing it with no music at all for a bit and realizing the music part of a rhythm game just doesn't matter I asked myself why am I even playing this and closed the game.
I didn't get to see this myself because of quitting but I also saw someone say when the music plays over itself you can end up with the music ending before the 30 minute campaign is over, leaving the rest of the game in silence until the time runs out. I have no idea if that bug is still there but just know it might happen.
To the developer's credit though, this review used to be a lot longer and listed a lot of other bugs and concerns with the game but they've actually, really quickly, gone and fixed them, so good on them! I'll adjust my review more as these issues get addressed and I hope eventually it gets updated to a point where I can recommend it.
