Absolutely recommended to any Souls fan.
The only thing I didn´t really liked was the fact that there are very few unique enemies. I think there are about 20 different enemy designs (without vounting mayor bosses) in total. Luckily the game is fairly short so by the time you notice its almost over.
The mechanic in which enemy placement change according to the orbit of the Station around the black hole was a nice touch for variety.
The map in general is amazing somehow feeling bigger than it really is. Many times felt overwhelmed by new areas and their size only to find out they were pretty well layed out and manageable. Though sometimes there were some weird empty areas. Still the sense of exploration felt really cool.
The setting I found amazing can´t wait to play the DLC and hopefully see something similar from these guys in the future. Hopefully a sequel or something similar. Would love to explore the station again
Not bad for $3 for the game and DLC. The setting is great, the open world is great (but hella confusing at times), some of the enemies and bosses are awesome looking, BUT the best bosses are in the DLC or at the end of the game, everyone else is just a filler boss thats a normal mob with more health, the game is HIGHLY unbalanced in the players favor, Magic is OP, Aegis armor has no reason to be so OP, some weapons take years to swing making them irrelevant, each weapon has skills you unlock as you use em but theres no way to see what the previous skill unlocked IS unless your lucky to find the info online, some DLC mobs never stagger but always stun you which doesnt matter since your so OP anyways making it just annoying. Wish there was a new game thats faster paced. I feel like thats the one thing that really held this game back. The slow pace is just archaic nowadays.
Trying to rebind controls for keyboard and when prompted to enter a new key, the prompt quickly disappears and the original key bind disappears. unplayable without rebinding. I'm sorry i waited so long to test this as I bought the game months ago and now I cant refund :(
I can recommend to buy only by sale. The story is ok, but too predictable. The locations are huge and empty at some points. Bosses are divided by 2 categories: fat and weak. Setting is done pretty well, though it seems that it is not feat to souls-like games. At some points I really like the game, but at some, especially at running through locations to find the way between equal walls, I don't like it at all. Last boss is too easy.
Also there were some bugs, especially when hero stands without any possibility to move during a boss fight
I could write a 10 page essay on why this is probably the best fromsoft-like game you will ever play. Beat the game 5 times, got all the trophies and it was an absolute blast. You can clearly see the devs poured their hearts and souls into this game. The level design alone is impeccable and the only other game that comes close to this kind of level design is The Surge.
This game has so much secrets and great lore, This really is dead space meets dark souls. Fromsoft games aside. This game on my list, is tied in first place with Lies of P. ( in terms of the quality of the content )
I really do wish the devs continue to make such great games.
Thank you Cradle Games
Excellent souls like, outstanding science fiction setting, incredible meticulous level design, feels like the child of dead space and dark souls. The weapon and armor variety and styles are so unique. The story is very cryptic but interesting, the gameplay does feel a bit janky, very similar to dark souls 1. Another downside is that almost all bosses eventually become normal enemies. Also nobody is playing this, so forget about pvp or coop unless you bring in someone you already know. I did manage to bring someone from the discord.
this game is great
great game, a lil janky and confusing but pretty fun. 8/10 for a sci fi dark souls
this is a great game it is a little janky but honestly the jank added to the experience also if you want free items at the start of the game go to the console outside of the start room (it will have a small pile of bones at it's base) and enter the code 100408 and after that enter the code 642017 this will give you great starting gear with relatively low stat requirements I definitely think you should play with a friend.
I really would like to recommend this, because it does have some nice ideas, multiple build possibilities, and most of the game is reasonably fun.
*Spoilers*
However, I cannot, almost entirely because of the final (well, almost final) boss -- the one that stays on the edge of the arena except when he does his OSK charge attack. If there was a way to restore your energy other than having to get in his face and melee him, this would be different. But there is no way to beat the boss without melee, and since he sits on the edge of the arena where falls are WAY too easy (I estimate 50% of the 50+ attempts I made on him were gravity deaths), I never came close to beating him. I could range him until my energy ran out, and then I always (100% of the time) died before I could refill my energy bar. The other 50% of the time I died to his OSK charge which might be OK if you're on the other side of the arena, but when you're trying to get close enough to melee, there is WAY too little warning for these old slow reflexes to dodge. I never died to anything else in all the hours I attempted him: only gravity or the charge from point-blank range.
Also, the weapon I had built around much of the game relied on running light attacks to rapidle restore energy. However, the arena this boss is in completely prevents running attacks (you have to constantly jump on platforms, which kills your run), my original build was rendered useless. Even after I changed to the Archon Spear, though, I couldn't get more than 1 or 2 hits in before dying to gravity or a charge.
There was no point in continuing since I was never going to kill him, so I never actually finished the game. That's too bad, because if that boss had offered even one other option than melee on the edge of a cliff, this game would have gotten a thumb's up.
awesome soulslike
jank af mechanics and physics. uninspired level design. combat mechanics clearly inspired by souls-likes, but somehow misses the mark on all fronts. just sub-par all around. thank f i bought it on a steeeep discount.
Probably my favorite Soulslike not made by FromSoftware or Team Ninja.
It gets the dungeon crawling aspects of Soulslikes right and does it better than most other games. The architecture and areas are large enough to give hints of a truly massive world, even when those areas are fairly small.
The combat and bosses are the weakest aspect of the game, likely due to the modest budget.
However, it's only in recent years that "Soulslike" turned into "Sekiro-like" with an expectation of fast-paced combat. This game fits more with the earlier Soulslikes that were an expansion of the King's Field series of dungeon crawlers with combat that could generously be described as "functional."
I'd write more, but the final boss makes me question whether I really liked the game or not. It's that bad.
Online co-op does not work for me and a friend. We have tried many advices from the internet but nothing works. Usually we don't have connectivity problems in other co-op games.
I don't think it worth playing single - too boring IMO.
This game is buggy no doubt about it, and it has weird pacing at times, but if you want something thats more like dark souls 1 or demon souls as opposed to bloodborne or dark souls 3 then this is a good entry for sure. the first couple hours are rough in the sense that I feel like it doesn't explain all the systems very well and lets you just kind of flail around but once you get into the groove of things its a really enjoyable experience. I personally only feel like its good for 1 playthrough though so long as you do the side quests with the npc's.
great game reminds me of ds1
Got this for the hopes of a souls like game to play with some friends split screen. Unfortunately its just a bit lacking. A lot of odd glitches right out the gate (almost every enemy I killed went flying, your first and last step sound like 50 occurring at once, odd map design choices, etc). Attacks feel fairly shallow and straight forwards, not a lot of strategy to it.
Is it the worst thing I've played, no. Still felt better than quite a few AAA titles as of recent. Im sure this will find somewhat of an audience. Just with so many red flags right out of the gate I cannot recommend it. It pains me to say that as I really want to support games the incorporate split screen, this just didn't hit right for me.
With this being the devs first game, I wish you guys the best of luck and encourage you to keep on adding split screen in your future projects. Wouldn't have even given this one a shot without it.

game of the century
This is a good soulslike but with considerable jank. Enemy hitboxes are really not clear and dodges feel kinda inconsistent. Still it is very fun to play once the jank shock settles. Otherwise the atmosphere is amazing, weapons and armor are really cool, game has a cool sidearm mechanic where you can just have a gun, upgrade system is great cause you can upgrade just one item and switch it between your weapons, and more cool stuff inside. I think the map has got to be one of the most confusing I've ever played though, with a TON of secrets that are easily missed. Still I'd overall recommend it.

Bought it for the visuals and they didn't dissapoint. The sci-fi design in this game are awesome and the atmosphere aswell.
Good game but definitely needs an update.
Sometimes you get stun locked, but it doesn't unlock so you're just a training dummy for enemies until dead, with a full bar of stamina and no debuffs.
if you let developers who never played a souls-like game develop a souls-like game this is exactly what you would expect to get. This is not the worst souls game I`ve played but it certainly is in top worst 10.
I've played a TON of soulsikes, but this is one of the most enjoyable ones. It doesn't try to invent a new brilliant fighting system or some super next gen graphics, but it's very tastefully done and everything about it just works very well. Especially since unlike with Elden Ring I never felt like this game is a chore to play. It gave me lot's of good memories and I probably won't ever forget it. And the DLC is everything it should be. But if we rate every aspect critically (For me everything above 5 is already very solid):
Bossfights: 7/10 - very pleasant, but nothing crazy.
exploring / advancing through locations: 8/10 - Secrets actually feel like secrets, trash feels good to clear.
music: 5/10 - Observatory theme carries here a bit, but otherwise it's a bit too ambientsy for my taste.
artstyle: 8/10 - One of the best parts. In game it feels way better then on screenshots.
A middling-bad soulslike. Skippable, unless you're really looking for more Souls.
If you do choose to play, you'll find loose combat and far too many bugs & glitches for so long after release. The wide variety of equipment is offset by the fact that most of them are variations on the same dozen-or-so patterns. Boss designs range from boring to broken (especially one DLC boss in particular).
Still, the plot is unique for a soulslike, and the atmosphere & art are pretty good too. Gameplay is not bad, per se, just nothing to write home about. Exploration is fun, and most levels are laid out to encourage poking around in the nooks and crannies for every last secret (and there are many secrets).
Grab it if it's on sale and you're curious, but otherwise hold off on booking your vacation stay on Irid Novo.
Premise: Hellpoint is a Sci-fi Souls-like game where you explore a nearly abandoned space-city/station with little context as to what happened and fight hordes of comic-horror entities to include a variety of bosses.
Gameplay: The game starts out slightly rough as you figure out controls, movement, combat, and jumping. Personally, I was a fan of how fluid the movement and jumping felt and quickly became accustomed to the combat. The ladder system is pretty fun and lets you zip up/down as you traverse the levels, though the fall-death distance seems trivial. Like typical Souls-like games, you start off pretty weak as you're offered a series of weapons to expand your arsenal as you plow through the "tutorial" section.
I enjoyed how interconnected the space-station was and just how empty and desolate things were. The game does give off "Doom 3 and Dead Space" vibes as to just how bleak things are. Almost right off the bat, you're given a choice between your first boss, who was frankly quite easy, or a nasty enemy who will 1-2 shot you if you choose to explore a little in the opposite direction. From there, you're given almost free rein to explore the space station while searching for key cards to access locked off areas in order to get even more lost. You are not given any objectives or clues as to where to go, beyond the Observatory. Just explore, die, and repeat.
Weapons are pretty fun in this game. I started off with fast close-ranged weapons like a sword or dagger but switched over to some slow but heavy-hitters without feeling like I needed to stick to one weapon. The weapon upgrade system is a bit weird but when I realized I could upgrade my "mods" and continue re-applying them to different weapons, it gave me incentive to try different weapons and techniques. As you use the same weapon, you also unlock passive/active abilities on those weapons, giving you a powerful arsenal. You quickly come to realize a lot of these weapons are the same and just offer different damage-modifiers.
Having the ability to dual-wield different weapons is pretty fun. While I used a shield for my off-hand for the first half of the game, I realized just how powerful the ranged weapons could be and permanently switched over to that, though shields were still important for certain boss fights. There is a seemingly-useless shield-slam mechanic which is how you're supposed to stun shield-carrying enemies but it never worked for me. Plus, having to hold LT and LB at the same time while moving forward with the left joystick was just extremely awkward so I never did it. There aren't a lot of reasons to ever use this mechanic.
The major downside that stuck with me was the difficulty rollercoaster and lack of enemy variety. While there is a decent diversity to enemy types, you start running into the same kinds throughout the entire station and it just gets a bit repetitive. Bosses that you kill eventually become regular mobs and have the same mechanics. There is some sort of mechanic where if you accept a quest for (or kill) 1 of 3 cosmic-faction bosses, the station enemies change to reflect the opposite faction. It's a bit dynamic but forces you to face the same enemies over and over until you decide to "reset" the quest/boss, if you can figure out how.
Music: There isn't too much memorable music but I suppose that's the typical Souls-like experience where the tracks just blend into the background as part of the ambiance until you fight a boss. I do remember having this constant feeling of heavy apprehension as I'm exploring a completely empty location while a atmospheric track plays quietly. The Athaneum is probably my favorite zone- there is just one boss and nothing else. The rest is just ambiance.
Graphics: For a game made in Unity, the graphics range from really good to fantastic- especially when you look out into space. Most of the enemies look good, save for a few rushed-looking bosses. The upgrade stations look straight out of a game made in the 2000's though, especially the Occult Stations. The lack of detail on those are pretty glaring and constantly stood out to me.
DLC: The DLC, if you can find it, gives you 3 new zones, 3 new NPCs with quests, and plenty of new weapons/armor to find, though farming for the material to craft it can be a massive grind. 2 of the NPCs/quests seem to be multiplayer-linked and will probably be impossible to complete, given the unfortunately low player base. I could never find a match and the few times I did, the connection to the host failed. These 3 zones are fantastic and honestly give the game and space station a lot more depth, though I wish there was more story/context clues that fleshed out "daily life" aboard this now derelict station. Spoiler: I especially enjoyed the "Mad Jester" hall and the "Black Ops Space Marines" parts of the Dominion Baths that reminded me of the "We got Hostiles" chapter from Half Life. The last boss, The Fear, not only looked really terrible but was not fun to fight at all but at that point, I was pretty ready to finish the game.
TL;DR: Interesting sci-fi Souls-like with fluid yet sometimes janky combat, vast labyrinthine areas that give you little incentive to explore save for atmospheric reasons, fantasic cosmic ambiance, and a less-than-stellar ending. (pun intended). The game offers a multitude of Souls-like cryptitude such as hidden doors, NPC quests, and fragments of context clues for advancing the story. Finally, the DLC is pretty good and gives you three additional zones to explore and conquer... if you can find them.
I give the game a solid 3/5. Though it suffers from a number of gameplay choices and a lack of stronger story, I think it deserves far more players and attention. If you're curious about the gameplay, try the free demo, Hellpoint: The Thespian Feast. It basically just takes one of the levels of the game and isolates it. If you've already played Hellpoint, don't really bother with the demo. It doesn't add anything new.

This mess of a game doesn't even give you an objective then sends you out into the huge ass world and leaves you alone, and you wander, and wander, and wander until you're just fucking lost and don't know what to do.
Also, why tf can you play split-screen but the second player has no agency and can't interact with anything and needs the first player to do everything???
The whole game feels fine at best but is riddled with shit decisions like huge-ass worlds that are empty, bosses and enemies which are unrewarding as hell to fight against, a mirror underworld which I still don't know why it exists, a weird purple light that is supposed to reveal hidden terrain which makes me schizo but we haven't ever found shit with it... why???
A solid little souls like title. Kinda blows player 2 doesn't unlock achievements as you game with a buddy but the coop is sweet from start to finish.
This game came out around the same time as immortal unchained which I bounced off once they introduced teleporting enemies. I'm pretty mad at myself for sleeping on Hellpoint back then just because of the similar aesthetic. Would've been a great a great way to scratch the itch during the great soulslike drought in the years leading up to Elden Ring. Heres hoping they release a sequel even if its just a modest iteration
