Beat Saber is probably my favourite game of all time! Especially with mods and custom songs this game has endless replayability. Even though I can only do Expert, it still is really fun and I love learning and grinding towards expert+.
The DLC is also really good if you're willing to spend a lot of money
The game is great, but every music pack breaks the mods, which are actually over 80% of the reason to buy this game. They know this is happening as can be seen on the comments of every single patch, yet they do nothing and continue to add music packs. 0 QoL features, instead just more music packs that cost as much as the game itself.
Its a amazing game but it really needs to make mods be part of the main game like so many other VR titles
First up, i only play modded, never paid for any music pack or anything.
still this game is the best VR-only game, with the mod community carrying the game.
I had, and still have a lot of of fun playing the game!
Other then that, i would only recemend this game if you like Rythem games. and any knowledge of modding!
8/10 for me!
it was fun but after 10h it just have a black screen when i launch it and it's not a one time sytuation it's 100% of the times so only if i could even play this game i whold recomend it
its very fun, just play it modded though. dont throw your money at all the DLCs, play community maps
I played this game a long time ago on a friend's VR headset and I wanted to play it again, but I couldn't convince myself to buy a VR headset. I finally got one, so now I get to play as much as I want... which is a lot.
Awesome Game, spent so much time into it, even my meta quest 2 works awesome on it!
Although the game is very enticing by itself, installing mods reveals its highs fully. Many custom tracks can make you feel cardio workouts in gym are just inadequate when compared. I'm one of those players who only come to Beat Saber for to play to limits of my body. As I'm writing this review, it's now winter and the temperatures outside are way below zero Celsius. I start playing Beat Saber wearing warmer clothes including hoodie but end up switching it to just shorts and t-shirt after 1-2 tracks each time and then keep dancing. Everything above that is just too much in such an active game, especially if you move not only with your wrists (at which some maps are optimized) but with your whole arms (from shoulders) and your body as a whole.
And consider using some external OEMs or IEMs with juicy low ends since most VR's default speakers may not always be a great option for Beat Saber. It's not about your scores, it's about your pleasure while playing.
After all, if you're still alive after an hour or a few in solo mode and want to finish with something really hot, join the multiplayer. It's a great place to finish your session falling on your floor happy and exhausted.
this game made me realize three things:
1. i’m out of shape
2. lightsabers are cooler than i thought
3. my neighbors probably think i’m fighting ghosts
Amazing game. If you are looking to start playing VR, this is where you should start. It is great for letting your brain and body get used to being in VR. Other FPS games can cause you to become sick if you jump right into them.
If you have a VR goggle, then this game is a must play.
With mods, the replayability of this game is unmeasurable
Absolutly love this game, not as big a fan of the pay for new music packs update but it is what it is
Beat Saber is a lot of fun, but the stock levels and DLCs leave a bit to be desired. If you buy this, download BSManager, install some mods, then head on over to Beat Saver and download some high-rated playlists off there. Anything with a rating of 85% or more is guaranteed to be a good playlist. There's loads of good levels on there which should keep you going for a long time. Plus, it's good exercise - you can get fit playing video games. What a time to be alive.
I love this game. This has definitely become my daily cardio as it's really fun, and new songs are coming out all the time.
I would say old but gold, but the game is still getting updated.
Perfect for rythm- and music game lovers.
Beat Saber is one of the best VR games I ever played. The extensive community-driven content, including custom maps and innovative modes, elevates the game to new heights, ensuring endless variety and replayability. A must-play for any VR player!
It’s fun. Just expense without mods. So just mod it :)
Great game, VR of course is needed. Luckily you can get one without having to listen to a steam moderator cry about how they are going to die single and childless.
Fun as hell. Even more fun if you install mods to get more tracks, don't waste your money on the DLC tracks
10/10 great workout game and love the modding with custom songs.
If you have a VR device, you need to get this.
If you want this, you need a VR device.....
Short and simple, this is a great game once you have several mods and songs added on. The base game is good but the songs get annoying pretty quickly.
So there.... Go get this and have some fun..
Hopefully one day they will add the feature that Beat Hazard has where it takes your music from the drive and makes levels. That would be so much better considering the tracks they sell are quite one sided. The community tracks can be good. However, they tend to make the better songs for higher difficulty.
Fantastic VR title for beginners and veterans alike. Modding your favorite songs into the game is encouraged!
Easy to learn and a lot to master. It's still some of the most fun you can have with a VR headset. The inclusion of community created tracks for all kinds of songs really sells this game.
So it is unfortunate that every patch does nothing but break all the mods. It might make sense if these patches made the game better, but all they are is mediocre paid DLC (226 at time of writing). Great game but horrible devs whose work adds no value to the game. There is a reason everyone plays on legacy versions.
This is the best game ever. If you just got a vr headset this is the best game for you. It will take some time to get good but its totally worth. If you got Beat Saber on Steam just for mods then i would recommend getting an software called BSmanager you can change versions, Get mods, Custom song, Custom avatars and custom sabers. if you just got the game do the how to play and then try 100$ bills on easy or Normal And instead of just using your arms or only wrists you should use arms and wrists. And you need a good gaming pc for good quality or else it might be very buggy. (I got Beat Saber on Steam just for mods) I hope this review was helpful for someone And this is the end so...
THE END
Everythins is all right but i have little problem. When i want to play the game, it shows me the words "Beat Saber" and I have a black screen. I can play on update 1.29.1 without any problems, but on newer versions it won't load. If anyone can help me. leave a comment or send me a private message!
I played a 6-hour session before my Quest died, then I grabbed a battery pack and played 3 more. I would say it is somewhat fun. (I have 1000+ hours of Beat Saber on my Quest)
beat saber is a great game, that's all you need to say. well I suppose it's only great if you want to destroy your arms and sweat like you've never before.
overall great game
needs to be more friendly to modding community and stop trying to break things on every patch
because other features in the game break every song pack you advertise..
and a few features for visibility ..
really fun though mods are needed unless you want to drop stacks of cash on maps
I used to like the game but after I took a break from it and came back, it feels like all the soul has left the game and has been replaced with expensive DLC that nobody wants. I'd recommend modding the game instead of getting DLC if you want to have fun with Beat Saber
fun wacking game made me lose a few thousand pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably one of the best rhythm games ever, performs great, and is such an amazing experience. Easily worth the money 100%
I love this game. So much fun. Fun for the whole family. It can be a real workout as well. I am a little disappointed with the DLC's. You don't get much for the price but overall this is a great game and a lot of fun.
You know what this is, its great, mod the heck out of it and its unlimited content of mostly great quality (some fan made songs are quite bad but most are at least decent if not great) I finally got the last achievement.
Best VR game of all time. If you get into it, you will hit a wall and you will absolutely want mods. Mods bring it to the next level, I would not play without them - this includes custom maps. The official music release maps are ok, but custom maps are way better.
Amazing Experience. When i have my family's headset, i get a great workout and have lots of fun playing some of my favorite songs, which wouldn't be possible without custom content.
The Beat Saber platform is a 10/10. The developer-created maps on the other hand are mostly awful, poorly tracked, make terrible use of the space and are seemingly created by someone who doesn't play Beat Saber (or getting kick-backs from orthopedists). There are some exceptions, but we're talking a < 30% hit rate.
Mod it, for the love of god mod it. Get new tracks mapped by people who put effort into their work. Get revisions of the maps for the default songs! Don't bother with the official DLC. As sold Beat Saber is a disappointing mess. Modded it's the greatest rhythm game I've played since the first DDR cabinets 20 years ago.
stopped working after last update completely
they are trying SO HARD to stop people from using mods that they finally got it right - entire game just does not work - so they won, nobody can use mods on a game that does not start!
right?
Fun quick game. I wish there was a Steam workshop. But for the price and how often they release updates with new free songs it is not bad.
Very fun and quite an exercise. I love the fact that this game also breaks your wrists (Not really).
Easy to learn, Hard to master
11/10 game
I play this on a meta quest 2 using a link cable to the pc. I have found this game is a very unique rhythm game with lots of community support via mods but also still receiving updates. The game itself is fun and if youre a bigger guy like me, its a great workout. It runs flawlessly without any issues. The list of songs including dlc is quite amazing
Super fun game, awesome way to combine fitness with video games. Definitely wish they had more official songs, but still has a ton. Mainly I wish for a Disturbed or Gorillaz pack.
This is the game that's solidified my interest in VR and am so excited to continue diving into it. The scope of mods and extras to move and groove through means I get to easily dump tonnes of hours into this and feel great doing so
GUD GAME, very fun with a massive skill ceiling, its easy to learn but hard to master, tons of replayability and its incredably fun ( i dont even use mods and i dont get the drama of the bad reviews for "the game being carried by mods")
quintessential VR rhythm game with loads of mods and DLCs
This is the only good game I have found for VR. Don't buy VR. If you have it, this game ALMOST makes it worth it. This game is at least as fun as it looks. The DLCs range between bad and fine. Download songs from mapmakers on websites like BeatSaver.
It's good to buy in steam cheaper, but if you want to fully enjoy beat saber you had better buy it in meta store, because if you playing wireless it can be bad bitrate, but everyone don't want play with wire if they can play without wire.
With all the updates that constantly break mods, multiple DLC not being in bundles, and numerous other things, I genuinely cannot recommend this game. The devs have become money grubby bitches who constantly update the game in an effort to stop modding because people will add whatever songs they want and they can't get money off of it. Fuck them, fuck this game, an alternative needs to come out ASAP
I don't think I would have made it past 25 hours if there were no mods, but playing Beat Saber with mods made this game totally replayable over and over again.
For me, as for someone who loves to move her body, listenin' to good music and enjoys playing videogames -perfect game.
