You know what this is, its great, mod the heck out of it and its unlimited content of mostly great quality (some fan made songs are quite bad but most are at least decent if not great) I finally got the last achievement.
Best VR game of all time. If you get into it, you will hit a wall and you will absolutely want mods. Mods bring it to the next level, I would not play without them - this includes custom maps. The official music release maps are ok, but custom maps are way better.
Amazing Experience. When i have my family's headset, i get a great workout and have lots of fun playing some of my favorite songs, which wouldn't be possible without custom content.
The Beat Saber platform is a 10/10. The developer-created maps on the other hand are mostly awful, poorly tracked, make terrible use of the space and are seemingly created by someone who doesn't play Beat Saber (or getting kick-backs from orthopedists). There are some exceptions, but we're talking a < 30% hit rate.
Mod it, for the love of god mod it. Get new tracks mapped by people who put effort into their work. Get revisions of the maps for the default songs! Don't bother with the official DLC. As sold Beat Saber is a disappointing mess. Modded it's the greatest rhythm game I've played since the first DDR cabinets 20 years ago.
stopped working after last update completely
they are trying SO HARD to stop people from using mods that they finally got it right - entire game just does not work - so they won, nobody can use mods on a game that does not start!
right?
Fun quick game. I wish there was a Steam workshop. But for the price and how often they release updates with new free songs it is not bad.
Very fun and quite an exercise. I love the fact that this game also breaks your wrists (Not really).
Easy to learn, Hard to master
11/10 game
I play this on a meta quest 2 using a link cable to the pc. I have found this game is a very unique rhythm game with lots of community support via mods but also still receiving updates. The game itself is fun and if youre a bigger guy like me, its a great workout. It runs flawlessly without any issues. The list of songs including dlc is quite amazing
Super fun game, awesome way to combine fitness with video games. Definitely wish they had more official songs, but still has a ton. Mainly I wish for a Disturbed or Gorillaz pack.
This is the game that's solidified my interest in VR and am so excited to continue diving into it. The scope of mods and extras to move and groove through means I get to easily dump tonnes of hours into this and feel great doing so
GUD GAME, very fun with a massive skill ceiling, its easy to learn but hard to master, tons of replayability and its incredably fun ( i dont even use mods and i dont get the drama of the bad reviews for "the game being carried by mods")
quintessential VR rhythm game with loads of mods and DLCs
This is the only good game I have found for VR. Don't buy VR. If you have it, this game ALMOST makes it worth it. This game is at least as fun as it looks. The DLCs range between bad and fine. Download songs from mapmakers on websites like BeatSaver.
It's good to buy in steam cheaper, but if you want to fully enjoy beat saber you had better buy it in meta store, because if you playing wireless it can be bad bitrate, but everyone don't want play with wire if they can play without wire.
With all the updates that constantly break mods, multiple DLC not being in bundles, and numerous other things, I genuinely cannot recommend this game. The devs have become money grubby bitches who constantly update the game in an effort to stop modding because people will add whatever songs they want and they can't get money off of it. Fuck them, fuck this game, an alternative needs to come out ASAP
I don't think I would have made it past 25 hours if there were no mods, but playing Beat Saber with mods made this game totally replayable over and over again.
For me, as for someone who loves to move her body, listenin' to good music and enjoys playing videogames -perfect game.
(running on Valve Index)
Absolutely Fantastic Game, pair this game with BS Manager and you have the ultimate Beat Saber experience ever.
It's a good game but the way they do level fails is just plain stupid and unfair. I should not completely fail a level and be kicked out of the song just because I missed a few cubes at the end in quick succession while I was perfect for the last 3 minutes of it.
I came into Beat Saber just looking for a fun way to get some exercise. Little did I know, this rhythm game would transform my entire love life.
Picture this: swinging lightsabers to catchy tunes, I felt invincible. But then, mid-game, I glanced at my reflection in the TV screen—sweaty, exhilarated, and honestly, a little too into it. I didn’t realize my roommate was watching until I heard a soft chuckle behind me. Turns out, the sight of me hacking through virtual blocks like a Jedi knight was somehow irresistible.
After a few sessions, we started playing together. Our competitive spirit turned into playful banter, and before I knew it, we were dodging blocks and each other's hearts at the same time. Who knew that pixelated cubes could lead to real-life sparks?
Now, we’re not just a gaming duo; we fell in love, got married, and even started a family, all thanks to the magic of Beat Saber. Our kids love swinging their mini lightsabers while we reminisce about those epic dance battles. It was a beautiful life—until one fateful day, she announced she was leaving me for a Burger King employee. Apparently, the lure of flame-grilled Whoppers and crowns was too much for her to resist. So, thanks, Beat Saber, for the wild ride of love and laughter, but now I'm left here, slicing through blocks alone while she’s out there enjoying fast food adventures. Who knew gaming could lead to such a twist?
One of the Best VR Games to play! Very Addictive & Fun! Totally Worth its Price! It is somewhat hard to get into the Hard & Expert Ranks but with ALOT OF PRACTICE & PLAY TIME you will get the hang of it! For getting songs though I REALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THE PACKS because of their expensive Price Tag & to that I will say all the packs that you see on steam you can EASILY find for free on sites like BeatSaver.com where THE COMMUNITY create custom songs & their FREE & I also think if you MOD THE GAME (Via ModAssistant) It makes the game 100 Times more fun! OVERALL INCREDIBLE Game! Defentally one of my TOP 5 FAVORITE GAMES!
Best rhythm game of all time. Easy modding, great community, lots of free updates.
Trick yourself into some cardio! Be aware that vigorous play may result in injury, make sure your play space is clear, you will be swinging for the stars after all!
This game is a combination of some of my favorite features: Electronic music, Crazy neon LIghts, weapons, lil customizable charaters, possible violence, and its rhythm based and all in VR! It also can be an arm workout if you play some of the crazy stressful levels, seriously, be prepared.
The best VR game ever made, yet unplayable without mods and the devs release updates for the purpose of literally breaking mod support. Therefore, pirate.
I love playing this all the time, mostly playing this between steam and quest. I've played it all over the years and it's still exciting to play dlc. I consider it like an investment to buy another setlist for workout material. This game is just an essential lifestyle for me now.
I really like beat saber and how easy it is to get mods, i currently have 3 different versions installed and they all work well! (I’m really bad on steam but better on quest)
This game is a fantastic way to workout. Plus, it's fun to vibe to the songs (still waiting for the official release of custom sabers tho :D)
Most physical activity I've ever had in my entire lifetime. Thank you beat saber for helping me on my journey to fighting obesity
This was a journey for 100% although most of my time was spent in mods as well as about 50% of the achievements were from mods but overall great game and can not wait for more.
Great game, its just the issue that i have to downgrade to an older version because of rendering issues with the ole quest 1.
I like it, but RAGNAROCK is MUCH BETTER! got it on quest+, play it rlly often. thought BS will give me the same vibes, but it lacks the ROCK and gives too much BEAT (all the songs are cringy ahh DJ songs)
A lazy game in the vein of all Guitar Hero, DDR, and others like it. That it is fun, and there is music that I like keeps it enjoyable. I'm sure they could do better, what with all the money they probably make.
Recommended only because it keeps the body moving.
I wish they would stop changing the sequence of the songs (the order that the blocks appear/direction to swing/etc.). From what I've played, the changes only make the songs... less enjoyable to play as the general 'flow' the changes make feels terrible.
Not really much to say here. this is pretty much the quintessential VR heatset game. Buy it. Buy the Music Packs. Have hours of fun and get into shape, Challenge your friends. Don't be upset if you suck at first, this is one of those types of games where one day you'll start playing and everything will just "click".
If you want some good ol' fashioned mental and physical torture while enjoying some of the best music you've ever heard in a video game while lights surround you then this is the game for you and if not, why not, it's fun.
In my opinion this is and always will be the best VR game on the market. The unlimited replayablity and the easiness of modding is where this game truly shines.
Swing arm fast, very good. Power of the saber blade is my kryptonite, its impossible.
Awesome game but if you want some more fun go to to the bsaber website and you'll thank me later

Casual play |---------|-| [9/10] Very fun!

I'll keep it simple this game is amazing for listening to your favourite songs while dancing/singing if you play on the lower difficulties.
Sadly the more you increase the difficulty the more you end up just frozen in one spot only using your wrists until they start hurting which completely kills the fun for me.
Multiplayer was disappointing you can barely even see your friends compared to the VRChat version where you can actually be next to eachothers and mess with their sabers so I can't give props there it felt very underwhelming/lonely.
Overall recommended since the game is smooth and it will never be not satisfying to cut a bunch of floating blocks; but still a bit disappointing!
How have y'all managed to make the game less playable over time? First, I couldn't get the game to run over 5 FPS without mods (fresh install, no mods on this PC prior). Then, most of the time when I try to launch the game, the saber isn't connected to my controller, it's just sitting motionless on the ground, so I can't even get past the initial warning screen. All on Valve Index btw, tried all usual troubleshooting steps, the only thing that works is rebooting my entire PC until it decides to work. WTF? Not recommended anymore, at least for Index users. Maybe it's better on Quest given that's what the branding indicates now.
This was my go-to VR game over the years and is amazing to play - IF it slowly is not becoming more and more riddled with performance issues and bugs. Not loading into the world properly (randomly 1.5m down, rotated, moved, etc.), lag spikes and frame drops ever 10 seconds or so, etc. etc. etc.
This happens on 4 different computers and 3 headsets (HTC Vive, Quest 2 and the newest quest). The devs seem to not care about the game anymore which is an absolute shame. Sadly have to rate this negatively.
best music game since guitar hero 2. definitely best vr music game and i have tried them all. i have beat saber on valve index, sp vr 1 and 2. and the quest 2. the only thing i wish is that if u buy music packs on one vr system. that u got a code for the rest of them. pc vr has tones of mod for beat saber that is pretty cool. would recommend to any one with any kind of vr
constant issues with oculus link and bsmanager. trying to run a clean install of both this and bsmanager does nothing. Can't recommend if you plan on playing with a oculus/meta headset since I can't even play the game.
incredibly good game, wouldnt play it as much without mods though
Good except for the pile of drugs youd have to be on to successfully "full combo" almost all expert and expert+ difficulties.
Great game, good cardio, modding is necessary for wider range of fun
Its still fun! especially if you have mods, the library is much much much larger than what you get officially.
best workout ive had even tho i go to the gym ive never had a pump like this and its fun
Fitting to say it's the new generation of DDR. It's got it's target audience, and who could hate them for it? That would be crazy.
For those that are old enough: ever walk into an arcade and there's that one Asian guy who's playing the hardest level of DDR like he's got 12 legs? Don't compare yourself to that guy. Play Beat Saber at your own pace, for your enjoyment and no one else.
Good base game but best played with Mods. The Licensed Songs are good and mapped well but if you only play them it can get stale. So just whack on some Songs and boom bada bing you got yourself one of the best VR Games out there.
I would even say Beat Saber is a must have game for anyone with a VR Headset.
