Whether you're looking for a fun workout game, or just love slashing blocks to some of your favorite songs, Beat Saber really has so much to keep coming back to. My husband and I both have VR, and we play multiplayer often to have a good time together. There are not enough good addictive VR games out there, but this one definitely tops the list. The continuous updates of new material from actual artists is a refreshing step for an almost update-less and dying genre (VR in general).
Imo one of the VR games with the most replayability - especially if you mod and download custom maps. Get in the habit of quickly looking through 20 or so newly uploaded maps every time you play and you'll have a library full of bangers in no time.
best vr game on the market. fun to 100% complete the achievements. you can never get bored playing. just don't get any dlc. just get the mods.
Fun to workout/be active using a rythm game format.
They make gamers legitimetaly sweat and exercise, if that's not a good enough endorsement I don't know what is
as a person that has been playing for over 5 years (1 on steam) its a really good game (if you mod it) its very addictive and fun if you want to mod i would recomend beatleader or score saber as those give you modded leaderboards
Love this game. Ultimate rhythm game
One of my favorite features is the vibration feedback for when you hit the blocks, and some maps go brrrrrrrr
I just wish it wasn't so graphic heavy on my VR Headset, and it has a tendency to lag even on performance settings.
Fun game to work out some rage to, or get some exercise in while using VR.
It's simply the best, most replayable, most useful (fitness wise) VR game out there.
Really fun game, great way to exercise and develop good hand-eye coordination. recommend getting mods in order to get songs that aren't in the game's store. 10/10
veryvery fun, i just cant play pcvr well due to my laptop being a little weak but i dont blame the game, the game itself is very fun.
easily the best rhythm game ive played, mods make the game even funner. Give this a try. 10/10 game.
This and Half Life Alyx are the main reason to get a VR setup. Simply the best version of any rhythm game.
- Custom songs from mods are nice that you can choose what to listen to, but
- Custom songs from mods are for only for people who have been playing for a thousand hours because they are impossible to play, and the community are in unanimous agreement that you should "beat the base game before trying custom songs" or some variant of this excuse, seriously it was depressing to read most threads.
- Base game songs are 40% nice to listen and actually enjoyable to dance while playing and 60% absolute arrythmic audio garbage that barely counts as music. (I am not joking, there are more than one song with gunshots as SFX and some songs kinds remind me of the "machinegun" hyper fast music a friend actually enjoys listening so, not for my taste I guess)
- Base game songs sometimes have quite nice movements that feel coherent and fun to execute, unlike mod songs, the only catch is that comparatively the first volume expert is relatively easy and fun, (I use it to warm up first song each session), and subsequent volumes gets ridiculously fast and nonsensical where their Hard or sometimes Normal are just as hard if not even more insanely difficult than the volume one Expert difficulty.
- To add insult to injury, (my current comfort flow range is between 3-4 notes per second) and some songs state that they have 2.9 notes per second, so I tried those and some of the songs were silent or minimal notes coming, then an idiotic burst of highly dense notes in a complex sequence comes out of nowhere, absolute misleading, I felt banboozled, scammed, betrayed. This was mostly happening on the later volumes I think.
- Base game songs hardest difficulties do not even match the song, before the melody even starts a bunch of highly dense note sequences just blasts at mach speed, then the song starts and the visuals are barely coherent, I had to install a custom note model shape in order to see what direction I actually have hit because the direction of notes behind is obstructed by the notes in front. It's basically trial and error memorization at that point.
- If playing on Linux, you have to use the launch options OXR_PARALLEL_VIEWS=1 %command% in order to fix the inverted reflections
- I highly recommend always playing with the no fail modifier so when a stupid sequence catches you off guard you don't lose and have to restart, just move on and finish the song for fun, (or in my case just to finish the terrible song out of curiosity and never touch it again), and honestly I started actually enjoying the game with no fail enabled, I can practice the entire song without excessively repeating the start of songs and eventually started getting better at the whole song at once instead of gradually pushing past the defeat point in time each time.
- I have never playing any official DLC packs songs, and will not because I am not sure if I will be able to refund if they are not fun to listen to or fun to play. Considering how the previous base game experience has been so far I do not wish to explore them. And hopefully I'll find the mods custom songs that are actually fun choreograph my moves to, and save them with the few base game songs that are nice to move along with.
Definitely a must have for VR, even though you have to carefully sift through content and tag favorite heart on the songs that are worth playing.
Original and fun, one of the best "action" game for VR.
Totally recommend for new VR owners. Also you can do crazy videos with it, just be safe while playing.
This is a fun game, tho it is exhausting and hard, it is still very fun! Slicing through these notes are pretty distracting but as you enable "Reduce Debris" No debris will appear, Great job beat games, you did a great job!
Fun game to keep active without even realising. Just make sure you have enough room to move because I learnt the hard way !!
Slice blocks, get good, get mods, become very good. Very fun game.
This game is an absolute gem. It has to be one of the best ways to get a workout and have fun at the same time. Especially when you add custom songs it takes this game from a 8/10 to a 10/10. If you like light sabers and if you like music this game is a must buy.
I will never -not- recommend this game. Used to be a huge fan of guitar hero and rockband back in the day, and started this game off on quest 2. Now I pretty much just exclusively play BS on pc now, its so much more fun and a better experience overall on pc, as well as MUCH easier to mod, literally theres an endless stream of content for this game thanks to mappers and modders AND not to mention the fact that updates new songs still regularly come out for even the base version of this game <3
Beat Saber: The game that caused me to break 3 controllers, all within warranty, thankfully, and you would be surprised, because I didn't break them. No. The game is such a good exercise, that my sweat got into the controllers, and messed them up.
The game never ever goes on sale, and it used to be 20 bucks instead of 30, so don't wait, if you want the game. There is good support for the game, there are 40 updates AFTER it's release 7 years ago, and don't get me started on the community side. A wide variety of mods, or just custom songs to begin with. Every update breaks most mods, but hey, if you don't get used to mods, you don't need to wait for them to catch up each update cycle.
If you are a fan of VR and exercise, this is one of the OG games. I can only recommend it, but be warned. Most of the songs are either eastern adjacent, or rave/hard-style/etc. whatever you call that style, yes, I know you are out there, who know what it is, but don't actually know what it is.
So many hours and so much fun, yet I still cant pass songs for my life. 10/10 would recommend.
Probably my favourite vr game. i'm ass at it, but it's so much fun, and apart from the aperture demo game this is probably one of the only things i show people that are interested in vr. Also most vr games make me sick but this one i'm pretty allright in
This game 100 % itches your rhythm game scratch. So much fun, and with mods the whole world is yours,
Rhythmic light-sabers lots of fun and very satisfying
The second game after Nekopara that has me moving my arms and working out. 10/10
Modded makes the game worth playing, one of the best of vr games out there
only worth buying on a platform you can mod it on like steam or gog games.
The modding used to be just a little trinket... honestly.. But now just slap on bs manager and get an effortless mod installation with the pick of any community song AND the install button doubles as a fix it button for if you break something
Modding used to be a subsect of people who play the game. Now it in itself is why people go to play the game.
Great VR game, definitely a must have if you have a VR
modded or vanilla the game is spectacular
its rlly fun with mods and nostalgic without
Hands down the best VR game. Music packs are overpriced but there's plenty of base game content and modding if you're into that.
i bought if for using a vr headset once and forgot to refund it
This game is revolutionary in how it combines block slicing and rhythm. I love this game and it is my go to game for clearing my mind. I have modded this game with BsManager and it made it so much better. I would recommend this if you are trying to get into cool rhythm game.
The Gold Standard of VR Rhythm Games
Beat Saber is hands down one of the most fun, satisfying, and replayable games in VR. The combination of precise rhythm-based gameplay, sleek visuals, and energetic music creates a flow state that’s hard to match. Whether you’re casually slashing through tracks or chasing full combos on Expert+, the game feels incredibly rewarding.
The community support is also amazing—with custom songs, mods, and a thriving player base, there’s always something new to try. It’s also a surprisingly great workout—playing for even 20 minutes gets your heart rate up.
If you own a VR headset, Beat Saber is a must-have. It's one of those games that perfectly showcases what makes VR special.
I love colors, flashing lights and smashing stuff
I can see why this game is popular. If you have ever been addicted to music-based games like Dance Dance Revolution or Guitar Hero, you're going to love this! This game is very addictive, which is a good thing because it actually gets you moving. You'll have fun in this game, and get fit at the same time. You'll find yourself sweating after a couple of songs, and then you'll feel good about yourself.
Though it's a little pricey for a Stepmania-game that you play with your hands in VR. Plus the DLC songs costs a fair bit too. But I guess you should afford it if you're rich enough to afford a VR headset.
This game is fun and active, there are different levels and songs to listen to. Sometimes our vr doesn't work, and idk.
Love this game. I would recommend to def mod it with at least custom songs and some sabers too if your interested in that. You could probably search "beat saber custom songs steam" or "beat saber custom sabers steam" click on a random vid from a year ago and figure it out it's actually pretty simple. When you first start playing I would say wait off from custom levels though until you have like 50 hours bare minimum (and yes you will most likely be playing for that long if not multiple times more than that).
Honesly the best VR game I play, when you're bored, play Beat Saber, when you want a quick workout/Cardio play Beat Saber, want modded songs play Beat Saber, wanna have fun with friends, play Beat saber, It's just that fun. Although you may rage quite a lot. Nothing beats it, Funnest VR game ever.
the game is very fun and a lot of good choices of music not to mention its a fun way to get to move around a lot more.
A must have for any VR game library. Just do customs instead of buying songs tho
Officially became a block-slashing addict, never disappoints
This is the best VR game!
There are mods, custom songs and 7 official song playlists!
insane how easy it is to get basically any song on here. as soon as the music publishers find out about sites like beat saver they’re getting dmca’d to hell
Fun game plagued by performance issues. Haven't been able to set highscores because game just won't let me do that. Game is underutilizing GPU and CPU, and lags and stutters in exact spots on custom maps. This is frustrating experience. Is there no tech specialist who could fix performance issues? Players have been posting about performance issues for years.
The game itself might be a bit overpriced, and since it requires the player to move a lot in order to play the game itself, it can actually be a fun workout game too. I would probably wishlist the game and buy it when its on sale if I didnt buy it yet
Sold out to Facebook, game is fun, but they keep breaking mods to push silly DLC that no one sane should buy because of modding. Best to just sail the high seas for this one.
Best game ever
- 50kg in 10 minutes
would recommend 100%
I haven't been playing this game for THAT long but i can easily say that this game is great for those who like to hit squares to music. I highly recommend anyone out there who hates squares to give this game a go; very fun to finally show those pesky squares whose boss. Make sure to leave no square left alive.
this game is incredibly frustrating for me. the blocks are following no clear pattern and so i can't predict them - yet i must, otherwise i am too slow. my only chance is dumb memorization. practice does not help at all since i am unaware of how i could improve or what my mistake was. i fail at the exact same spots every time since i cannot "see the blocks" fast enough. to me, it becomes just visual noise.
