About the Included Games:
Doom (1993) - Original Version
The demons came and the marines died...except one. You are the last defense against Hell. Prepare for the most intense battle you’ve ever faced. Experience the complete, original version of the game released in 1993, now with all official content and Episode IV: Thy Flesh Consumed.
Doom II – Original Version
Hell has invaded Earth, and to save it, you must battle mightier demons with even more powerful weapons. This beloved sequel to the groundbreaking DOOM (1993) introduced players to the brutal Super Shotgun, the infamous Icon of Sin boss, and more intense FPS action.
TNT: Evilution
The UAC relocated their experiments to one of the moons of Jupiter. A spaceship, mistaken for a supply vessel, was granted access. But when it got close to the base, demons poured out. All your comrades were slaughtered or zombified. This time it's not about survival. It's about revenge.
The Plutonia Experiment
Every effort has been made by the nation's top scientists to close the seven interdimensional Gates of Hell, but one portal remains open. Alone, you must infiltrate the ravaged base, defeat the demon Gatekeeper, and seal the last Hell portal before the undead take over the world.
Master Levels for DOOM II
This expansion includes twenty additional levels, all with the same hell-spawned horrors and action of the base game. Each level was created by independent designers and supervised by id Software.
Sigil
Created by id Software co-founder, John Romero, and released as an episode-sized mod consisting of 18 new maps, Sigil fits in between the timelines of DOOM (1993) and DOOM II. Baphomet, the gatekeeper of Hell, “glitched the final teleporter with his hidden sigil, whose eldritch power brings you to even darker shores of Hell. You fight through this stygian pocket of evil to confront the ultimate harbingers of Satan, then finally return to become Earth’s savior.”
Legacy of Rust
Created in collaboration by id Software, Nightdive Studios, and MachineGames, Legacy of Rust is the newest episode for DOOM, and the first official episode since DOOM II to feature new demons and weapons. This 16-map Episode is broken up into two 8 map sections: The Vulcan Abyss and Counterfeit Eden.

They took Doom, an already awesome game, and threw in Doom 2, a bunch of DLCs, and an in-game mod browser. The amount of content here is very worth it for the price.
doom and doom ii are both games, i guess
beat both with mouselook on gzdoom (with mouselook turned on for better gameplay and jump turned off since jumping isn't a thing in vanilla doom) and had both a really awesome and kinda shitty experience with it lol
doom 2 is definitely a better game than doom 1 imo (and i feel like that should probably be a given, since it was released after, and adds better weapons like the super shotgun) but overall both games are decently fun.
only thing i can really suggest is to start on not too rough (the second difficulty) and work your way up in difficulty ranks (doing this led to me being able to speedrun the first 8 maps in doom ii after just 2 days lmfao)
anyways yeah, fun games overall, def. suggested for ppl who like first person shooters
Constant crashes to the desktop. And since no autosave just makes you want to rage quit. Get GZDoom instead. Far superior.
It's Doom. What else do I need to say? A collection of absolute classics for a low price? Perfect! And it's all presented in a modernized, accessible way? Perfect for newbies, vets, people who have tried the new games and want to try the roots, those who don't want to look into terms like "source port" or "WAD file," and so much more! While I mainly got this to play on the Steam Deck, I've played this game so much on my PC already that I know the layout of some of these maps better than the store I work at. Seriously, for an FPS older than me where you can't even look up or down, it's aged remarkably well. Give it a shot, but remember- monster closets can be anywhere, ANYWHERE!
DOOM is an absolute timeless classic, and it's gameplay still holds up incredibly well which is, in my opinion, due in part to the simplicity of it's gameplay and mechanics but also the surprising skill ceiling that it has when you start to delve into the harder WADs such as Plutonia and Sigil. The insanely large amount of custom fan WADs, such as Plutonia 2, Scythe 2 and Back to Saturn X show just the sheer dedication and love the fan base has towards these games, and offers a near limitless level of replayability that always makes it a joy to come back to and play. It's also just good ole' fashioned video game fun, with no BS found in today's modern games such as live service, microtransactions and so forth.
The graphics may be extremely dated by today's standards, but that's also part of it's charm. I find that I actually really enjoy the visuals, with it's sprites and textures that remind me of games I played in the past when I was a child. Despite that, the sprite work and texture work still hold up very well, and all of the enemies telegraph their attacks in ways that once you get used to feel very, very natural. The music is also superb and extremely iconic, and the sound design is excellent for enemies and your tools of destruction. The sheer joy I feel when I blast a gaggle of Imps into oblivion with the super shotgun is absolute elation, and the pure adrenaline rush I get from dodging multitudes of Revenant rockets, Mancubi fireballs and Cyberdemon volleys in a chaotic combat encounter is hard to beat.
Of course not every level is going to be fun to play, but most are a blast to play and beat the few bad apples there are. If like me you completed every WAD on UV, got all of the achievements but are still wanting more DOOM to play, then as mentioned previously custom fan WADs are an extremely fun and gratifying rabbit hole to go down into and will surprise you with just how insanely in-depth the game's combat can truly become. And if you're looking for a challenge beyond the official releases, you will surely find it. Seriously, I can't sing DOOM 1 and DOOM 2's praises enough. With source ports such as GZDOOM and PrBoom+, you'll be able to further tinker with your settings and preferred way of playing the games to your liking to such a degree that it can be overwhelming to the newcomer, but unparalleled to other games once you get used to it. Hell, maybe you'll even start to make your own levels with Ultimate DOOM Builder and Slade which adds an even more insanely enjoyable aspect of DOOM thanks to the simplicity of DOOM map making. With enough time, effort and patience you can craft your own DOOM levels and experience.
DOOM is truly a game and experience that just keeps on giving, and will never not be a blast to sit down and enjoy no matter how you do it.
It's Doom, you know what you're getting. Go slaughter some demons...that's never a bad thing. The music is amazing too.
didn't realize I played this for 13 hours lol. anyway it's pretty fun, very much a turn-your-brain-off game. cheap as hell though so would recommend
Look, I have loved Doom ever since I was a child playing the shareware copy my dad got for me + waiting for the full release to come out. So, I will always love Doom.
This is nice and all, the framerate is the best upgrade. Sound quality and the remade music score are top tier (for Doom).
The issue I have with this game is that it crashes all the time. Like, ALL the time.
I don't know if it is because this version has been blessed by the hand of Bethesda, but crashing every few levels at random (usually when i press the save button, lol) gets a little frustrating, especially if you are trying to beat your best times and have your flow going.
Forgot to mention, it comes with all the official expansions (DLC?) which is quite a treat !
so this is doom huh?
it has guns but balls,, its complex
i do not know if i should count some of the balls here, as most arnt like say basket balls (basket balls are my standard)
6/10, good guns but the balls are confusing
Doom and Doom II were some of the first games my Dad and I ever played together. It's got a lot of sentimental value to me, and they're still a ton of fun even today.
Doom gave me my first experience of PC gaming and I've been hooked ever since. Such a classic, and in these days of high res, high refresh and ray traced gaming, sometimes there is nothing better than firing up Doom to relieve the daily stress and have a absolute blast. Would recommend this to anyone coming into PC gaming to understand the 'glory days' of PC gaming.
Still as good as it's always been, They've added a lot of modern touches to the game. not quite as pure, but normal FPS controls, wide-screen, etc. feels about the same, but good modernization. Yes the game is still increadibly fun in 2024. One of the best aging games ever.
Good old classics packed in a bundle. I highly recommend it, it's a great official port for modern systems. There are some bugs though, like crashes and weird audio errors. But other than that, it's awesome. With all the new stuff and music included, i'll give this a
9.5/10.
Very, very fun and challenging. I only played Doom since I bought the game a couple of days ago. I wanna try Doom 2 too after i finish the first game.
Reccomend
(bought for 2 euros, 3 dec 2024)
Recommend this game especally for trans and femboys, so their testosterone level increases. 10/10
Color me impressed, this is actually a really good official source port. Has everything official (Save for SIGIL 2 but you can get it on the mod browser so it's not a big deal) in one package on top of having some bonus content and having a lot of options for tweaking the game however you want. Pretty much a no brainer at ten bucks, especially if you want an easy way to play Co-op or death match with some people (with console crossplay to boot).
My only real gripe is that as of right now, some mods can be a bit touchy, mainly when they're just gameplay related. I tried loading up a Smooth Weapon animations mod and it only loads in DOOM 1, even though it's made for every game and even most WADs. If we can get a way to load multiple mods at once and choose what game we load them in, this would be a perfect port.
A wonderfully converted emulation that brings back giddy memories of youth.
Plays flawlessly on Steam Deck at 4 watts.
Ideal for Deck: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43052238-Ideal-for-Deck/
Very user friendly interface, has the DOOM II master levels in a sequence so you don't need to pistol start every level (I do anyways). Two style options for the HUD, one vanilla, one DOOM 64-ish. In-game vault which allows you to view unused finished and WIP spritework for the game's development. Over a hundred extra high quality level WADs besides just DOOM I and DOOM II, which can all be ported directly over to GZDoom(source port) if you so wish.
Notice for people coming from GZDoom: These are the original games, ported from DOS, which do not have mouselook, and use the Doom software renderer (not true color). This will not work with Brutal Doom or other advanced mods without using these WAD files in GZDoom, which means you will not earn achievements that way. This will work with WAD files that do not need GZDoom though, such as Ancient Aliens. All of that being said, the retro Doom games do not need mouselook, and play perfectly fine without it.
A wonderful experience, and a wonderful port for game as old as it is. I would also love to see the addition of capture the flag and bots added within the multiplayer aspect of this port. Would also love a little bit more love given to the multiplayer aspect of this port as it is the best way to experience it (At least for me though but thats just my opinion).
10/10 Sourceport would highly recommend to someone new to classic doom. Especially if their first doom game were the modern ones.
Being a huge fan of this franchise since the 90's i can confidently say, Is not a perfect port, but it does improve the overall experience in new systems, feels very smooth now, can't complain about that
DOOM is just a glorious game no matter how or where you play it. Just buy it on sale.
saves are combined for all the games/mods. I just overwritten a month's gameplay in a cinch. don't waste your time
A classic from the 90's revived with popular levels, updated new official content and optional remixed music.
Not completely perfect (some minor bugs by the engine port) but well worth the purchase.
the fact that this game came out 30 FREAKING YEARS AGO and is still getting new DLC and content is absolutely incredible. Kudos to ID for being a great company.
Love all the old Doom games replaying 1 and 2 now. Have a cool Doom book with all the info, Love the cheat codes and stuff I highly recamind this game if you are into real old and cool games like this if you are not probly would not like this game I give it 2 thumbs up.
Doom GuY
Soundtrack updates are top notch, enhanced skins are even better. Old classic with a quick update. Run perfect on deck

The fact that such an old game can still be so awesome is honestly insane!
The original games still hold up pretty well. The modern expansions & map packs is where the true gold is tho
Old school shoot em up game, much fun, not a walk in the park, but fun . Me and my 10 yr old son like playing it.
Extremly fun game! Best port ever of Classic DOOM! The new Episodes: Sigil and Legacy of Rust are awesome to! I highly recommend this to all Classic DOOM fans! + the Mod support. PERFECT!
It's just Doom in all it's brutal glory but now with remastered soundtrack and proper multiplayer. PvP is pretty janky because of the netcode, but it's good enough to be fun.
The fact that a game from 1993 holds up THIS WELL is incredible. Whether you want to revisit some nostalgia, or just play a fun, satisfying FPS game, DOOM is for you.
Its a good Boomer-shooter/FPS Game. I do recommend you play doom, I have lots of hours on DOOM so i bead doom doom 2 ECT. and all the games are great!
Great port of an ultimate classic game which defined so much. Thirty years later - and gameplay still stands strong, a testimony to a simple yet complete gameplay design. This even inspired me to try and develop my own custom levels.
This version contains all existing editions of Doom and Doom 2 released with multiplayer and steam achievements to complete (don't cheat though - you'll remove the enjoyment out of it).
Below you can find detailed impressions:
Doom: Absolute classic and legendary. Running through first episode under par without dying on UV is hard and memorable. Progression between episodes and their final bosses are memorable. Episode 4 is especially iconic (E4M2). 10\10
Sigil: same difficult curve as E4, but more consistent level design. Very enjoyable. 9/10
Doom 2: super shorgun addition for me seems balance-breaking, new enemies also ruin game-pace and annoying rather then interesting (Pain elemental, hit scan chaingunner, arch-vile). Level consistency is gone and you will see a lot of experimental design here, testing boundaries of what idtech can do. It's can be hit or miss, and breaks the pace of the game. Final boss is, should i say, iconic and memorable, an upgrade over first part counterparts. 8/10
Master levels: slump of levels, most of which are below average. Black Tower and Titan's Manor are memorable and enjoyable, Vesperas and Mephisto's Mausoleum are straight up irritating. 6/10
Evilution: TBA
Plutonia: TBA
No rest for the living: TBA
Legacy of the Rust: TBA
I can boot this up open a open coop lobby on most difficulties on any game and get a near full server in a map or two it is worth and crossplay makes it so much funnier.
Even better I don't have to say or communicate hardly at all just me and 15 other goofy people blasting demons and reliving childhoods and sharing that craziness with others who didn't get to experience it in that era.
The godfather of FPS games, now more accessible than ever.
- Slick, modern UI combines all classic games into one launcher.
- Ultrawide support
- Unlocked frame rate
- Steam Deck Verified (fully controller friendly)
- Integrated mod support (no longer just the 'featured' mods Bethesda allowed)
- Online multiplayer! Coop and PvP
- Remix soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult
What can one say about DooM? The game is fantastic. Some levels are better and some worse, but you'll have fun anyways. This 2024 version has enough content for more than 100 hours of single player, not counting downlodeable maps.
The only bad thing this new release has is that the engine has a few graphical bugs, like sprites clipping, random vertical lines and some random flickering, but nothing that demerits a great port with a ton of content.
A collection of the some of the most important FPS games of all time with all of the necessary content and updates a modern source port should have. Once you crack open the modding capabilities of these games though, you'll realize Doom becomes one of the most endlessly replayable and addicting games ever made. With thousands of original campaigns and gameplay mods, it's literally a game that can be endlessly carried just by its community content alone. I've been replaying this game since I was a kid and it still to this day never gets old for me. It's an amazing set of games that is only enhanced by this collection.
Latest version crashes all the time, especially on the save screen (right when you are trying to preserve your progress).
As a Hardcore Doom fan, I strongly recommend this. It's a great remaster for both new fans and classic ones.
These remasters are great and the new soundtracks are great. However, I get extremely nauseous when using a big screen to play this game, so I’d recommend using a smaller screen like a laptop. Overall worth buying.
Loved this series as a child and this is a fantastic collection of games with loads of content to keep anyone happy.
Massive Props to anyone that completed these games on the hardest setting without cheats, Even with no clip and all other mods, some of these levels took me farrrrr too long to complete!
100% with the cheats, but we'll keep that between you and me, please don't tell my friends and family, Thanks xoxox
Theres a reason they call doom a classic. besides a glitch that's making me incapable of getting past DIS (when i kill the spider mastermind the game crashes) it really does keep up gameplay wise
legend one of the best games in the world and also one of the best games on steam deck soundtrack top! 1000000/10
Has some bugs that weren't in the original. Sometimes on respawning doors will only half open, enemies will be INSIDE the floor and/or invisible.
The expansion campaigns are really high difficulty, but proobably doable if you play several levels beneath your normal difficulty.
Other than that it's still a pretty good game after all these years. I'd say the original campaigns are better than any of the expansion content in terms of design.
First Impressions:
My first impressions would have to go back to 1993 when I first played the demo, after only playing Wolfenstein 3D at the time. This game was incredible. Gaming wasn't as popular as it is now, but in the gaming world, everyone knew this game and loved it. I don't remember any game being bigger at the time in the PC world at least. I played it every chance I got, any where I could. It did later came out on consoles but it was super inferior. I also remember some primitive VR setups in arcades or other places you play this in, but I never tried it (If i remember it was super expensive to play even once). The sound design was incredible at the time. Although not fully 3D (you couldn't have rooms above rooms) the levels were amazing and never felt restricted, even though they were. When this game came out it was never in question whether it was good or not, it was universally adored.
This version of the game: Really cool they added the original DOS version of the game as well, and the new menus and achievements and addons, mod support, multiplayer support (not sure how well it works), are all really cool addons, without changing the actual game much at all. Kind of disappointed there's no GZDoom option here though, with achievement support would be great too. Would love to play something like the fan created mod Brutal Doom, or the Black Edition version built in. "Final Doom" in included and includes fan creations as well, but there's probably lots of licenses, perhaps compensation that's involved with something like that. Otherwise, this game is still a ton of fun, and includes all content from Final Doom which is the complete package of all Doom I and Doom II addons and extras. There's user created levels support built in now and other mod options always available. Definitely worth the play through, even if nostalgia isn't a factor on it. I think it holds up honestly. Although if you've never played it, be prepared for a much faster paced game then you might be use to, even faster than the new Doom (2016) based games.
I have played though the first game in this series many times, modded and unmodded and will likely play again in the future several more times. Doom II and all the other expansions I've played either only once before or this was my first time going though them. The extra levels and addons are quite a bit more difficult at times, but all worth playing in my opinion, although if not all the levels, at least and few episodes of DOOM I and maybe DOOM II if you want more. Highly recommended obviously from me.
------------------------------
Control Scheme I Used:
If i was to play the original DOS version, I might use keyboard only, right hand on the arrow keys for movement, without mouse as this is how I played the original. Now however, I use default keyboard and mouse settings. I might use custom controls also, but the defaults feel fine to me. This is funny however, because I attribute this game to be one of the biggest reasons I use custom controls in most shooters today, such as CTRL being my default shoot button instead of MOUSE1 (which is how it was in the DOS version, not the new one). Space bar is the default action button though, as there is no jump.
------------------------------
Worth the current price (CDN$ 12.99)? oh yes
What I actually paid: 3.74 USD (Before Steam accepted CDN Currency)
This copy was originally purchased and converted from "Doom Classic Complete 2012", and interestingly enough bought with copies of Quake, Quake 4, Heretic, Hexen, Wolfenstein, and even Commander Keen. Nice retro collection there.
------------------------------
Completionist Review:
DLC Achievements: This includes everything already
Rating: Depends on how morally you want to complete them... Some challenges are brutal
Can be completed in one run: One really long run of multiple games yes
Chapter Select: There is level select actually, but you start with nothing when you do
Did I need/use a guide? For one achievement yes, but I probably didn't need to.
Achievements for beating every main game, and a couple of nasty challenges, however you can save scum though them, quickloading is instant. One quick one on hardest (Nightmare) difficlty for any single level.

I played Doom and Doom ][ back when it was new and now I get to play it again on modern equipment with some visual enhancements. Love it! Also, the only way I'm ever going to see 240 FPS is on a 30yr old game!
love doom, but wtf?! half the modds dont work or only half work. Also can only get a few pages into the modd browser before it claims there was a problem loading it.
Doom + Doom 2 is a collection of all official classic Doom campaigns along with 2 new campaigns. Gameplay feels awesome after you get used to it. At first you can get a bit motion sick but you eventually get used to it. Storywise the game is extremely simple and is mostly a background for the levels and gameplay. There's also a mod browser that allows you to download more levels/campaigns from independent developers. And all of this for £8. Occasionally on sale for £4 as well. I would highly recommend purchasing this.
Excellent update for the classic game which I didn't even know was coming to PC.
There are some improvements, for example Dead Zone in TNT, where we haven't been able to wake the last few Cacodemons in previous versions of the game without cheating, they do mostly wake up on their own this time around. There's other maps that have known bugs like that, levels you cant get keys in, that sort of thing, all improved across the board.
But now I'm on Plutonia and getting to the end of realm has been fun, but the game crashes on level completion. Not looking forward to pistol starting map 9... Not sure how you introduce bugs to a working game, but with Bethesda all things are possible.
Achievements are cool to have. Can't wait to check out the new episodes. Managed to fight my way through E4, Master Levels, and TNT since this came out. firsts for me. Love the update. mostly.
