About the Included Games:
Doom (1993) - Original Version
The demons came and the marines died...except one. You are the last defense against Hell. Prepare for the most intense battle you’ve ever faced. Experience the complete, original version of the game released in 1993, now with all official content and Episode IV: Thy Flesh Consumed.
Doom II – Original Version
Hell has invaded Earth, and to save it, you must battle mightier demons with even more powerful weapons. This beloved sequel to the groundbreaking DOOM (1993) introduced players to the brutal Super Shotgun, the infamous Icon of Sin boss, and more intense FPS action.
TNT: Evilution
The UAC relocated their experiments to one of the moons of Jupiter. A spaceship, mistaken for a supply vessel, was granted access. But when it got close to the base, demons poured out. All your comrades were slaughtered or zombified. This time it's not about survival. It's about revenge.
The Plutonia Experiment
Every effort has been made by the nation's top scientists to close the seven interdimensional Gates of Hell, but one portal remains open. Alone, you must infiltrate the ravaged base, defeat the demon Gatekeeper, and seal the last Hell portal before the undead take over the world.
Master Levels for DOOM II
This expansion includes twenty additional levels, all with the same hell-spawned horrors and action of the base game. Each level was created by independent designers and supervised by id Software.
Sigil
Created by id Software co-founder, John Romero, and released as an episode-sized mod consisting of 18 new maps, Sigil fits in between the timelines of DOOM (1993) and DOOM II. Baphomet, the gatekeeper of Hell, “glitched the final teleporter with his hidden sigil, whose eldritch power brings you to even darker shores of Hell. You fight through this stygian pocket of evil to confront the ultimate harbingers of Satan, then finally return to become Earth’s savior.”
Legacy of Rust
Created in collaboration by id Software, Nightdive Studios, and MachineGames, Legacy of Rust is the newest episode for DOOM, and the first official episode since DOOM II to feature new demons and weapons. This 16-map Episode is broken up into two 8 map sections: The Vulcan Abyss and Counterfeit Eden.

Doom: Love the enemy sprites. Good weapon variety. I get why people praise the shotgun. I like how Doomguys face is integrated into the UI and changed expressions depending on the situation. Some levels are not as good as others. Boss fights are very easy. It's not a very difficult game until you get to chapter 4 Thy Flesh Consumed. I got a couple levels into the chapter and almost gave up, I did not enjoy some of the level design. Platforming isn't Dooms strong suit. Story is pretty much non existent, but if you've played Doom before that's to be expected. The soundtrack remake by Andrew Hulshult is f*cking fantastic. It's a little awkward in the beginning not having any vertical aiming, but you get used to it. The game can be stingy on ammo sometimes which feels a bit awkward.
Doom 2: Review in progress
This game is so amazing if you dont like these games then its prob from the graphics but let me tell you something
IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE ULTRA GRAPHICS 4K TO BE A GOOD GAME!
30 years after its original release it's still amazing, even for someone who started the franchise with Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal. Play it, you won't regret it
The games are amazing. But since the update it is super buggy. Bethesda, please stop updating your perfectly good games. You just destroy everything you touch
Lots of demos, blood, and guns. I like it
While i was writting this review my steam crashed.
Now you understand how badass is this game.
Infinite/10
An iconic master piece. Now with proper crossplay multiplayer support, this is one of the best way to re experience the classic doom series with friends.
Doom is an amazing shooter. It may be from 1993 but it still kicks ass! I recommend you play it.
One of the best games ever. Shotgun and super shotgun is satisfying. Yes.
this is soo good amazing game and its been that way for so many years lots of great fun of these games and modes
Game is legit impossible to play, as it crashes consistently when using the automap. Many people are having this problem, and there is no fix for months now. I recommend waiting for an update to buy it. I still don't know how a port for an engine from 1993(!) manages to be this unplayable but well, here we are I guess.
Excellent port. Usually with games that are even 10-15 years old you have to go and download some patches and fixes to get them to run, but here it just works. Surprisingly the games still hold up as well, DOOM more so than DOOM 2, but both still quite fun. It's interesting to see that the very first FPS games were super fast paced, and that the slower regen behind covers slog came later.
nothing about the original doom games jumps out to me. they feel boring. the gunplay is fine, the atmosphere is good for the time i guess, the level design is very overhyped (it essentially boils down to "the level is a big loop" but it kind of doesn't force you to play it that way and it ends up just making you wander around until you find the solution) these games are painfully mid to me. clearly not to most people, though. to be clear, this is not me saying old game bad. the original fallout games are some of my favorite rpgs, my favorite pokemon games are the older ones, tf2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and i love playing old games in general. these are just boring though.
I have played plenty, and I do mean PLENTY of the re-releases of DOOM, from Classic Complete on ye olde PS3 to the re-release on PS4/5 and the pseudo rereleasings bundled into Doom Eternal and Doom 3: BFG Edition. And I have to say, this, of any ways, is the DEFINITIVE way to play classic DOOM. It features: 6 expansion packs (not including the original 2 games) built in with custom achievements for said packs, built in support for DOOM mods new AND old directly into the game (no external stuff required, tmk you can upload mods as old as DOOM itself with no hassle), an optional-to-use fully remastered version of the original sound track recorded with modern equipment (As well as an alternate version of the original soundtrack), a built in "museum" of all the original assets and sound effects, a small section next to each game in the selection menu that gives you not only story details of the pack/game, but also a lot of history and insight into DOOM's release and the modding community. There are most definitely more things that I didn't notice or know about, but those are what stood out directly to me.
Now, I could go into the details and nitty gritty about DOOM itself as a game, but I feel like that wouldn't be necessary. Its DOOM. Its a good game no matter how you spin it. This, this re-release however? This is THE best way to play it and learn about it. And, as a neat bonus, its pretty cheap, too.
Good classic shooter, ages well for a FPS
Good game, worth the like 8 bucks for an hour a dollar. While I never grew up with the old doom games I do love this as a fps game.
I had no idea there were so many retro style doom games in this till yesterday! LOL i used to play the first two all the time back in the 90s. very nostalgic!
I enjoyed the expansions it comes with, this port is worth it to play Sigil and Legacy of Rust. I used Odamex before buying this and I do enjoy the vanilla experience better, also it comes with the dos version so you can be as vanilla as can be. I love the multiplayer, it features a thriving and great community(not just steam players). I wish I could my stats within the game, but it's not the end of the world. Honestly this is the only source port you need. For some mods I still use GZDoom but if you can replace dosbox file for the dos version you're golden for tracking hours. I do think the ZDaemon multiplayer port has one over just because of the different modes, but I still find myself enjoying classic dm in this release.
Classic shooter goodness with modern feature support and all the expansions packed into one game. This is a great way to experience the originals with plenty of demons for you to rip and tear.
Been playing DOOM since 93, and the game is still fun. I'm not talking about extensive modding or freelook, etc. I'm saying VANILLA Doom is still an extremely fun game 30+ years later. If you call yourself a gamer and haven't beaten these games, you're about as fake as they get.
- DOOM : No further explanation needed.
- DOOM II : Has its flaws but it brings the SSG and is still very enjoyable.
- TNT: Evilution : Not bad.
- The Plutonia Experiment : Fucking awesome.
- Master Levels for DOOM II : Mostly disgusting, especially the maps by Mr. CHRISTEN DAVID KLIE.
- No Rest for the Living : Imo the best official WAD out there. Masterful level design.
- Sigil : Extremely overrated, claustrophobic, autistic clusterseks with a beautiful soundtrack.
- Legacy of Rust : Very good, episode 2 overdid it a bit for my taste, but still very good, bordering on insanity.
This was one the first sci-fi and horror FPS games I was ever introduced to long before the game rating system started cracking down on things. A terrifying, long-lasting first impression on me about horrifying monster design, cool-looking futuristic weaponry, and how many bodies you can pack into one map that you're gonna need a lot of firepower, patience, and navigational knowledge for.
It's nice to see how long-lasting and supportive the community has been to this classic. Being able to revisit the levels I missed in past classic Doom releases like No Rest for the Living and Sigil is a breath of fresh air. And something new from Nightdive and Metalgames has been quite intriguing, too, seeing old sprites for new monsters and weapons in this one.
The KEX Engine devs learned a lot from the community when it came to remastering and re-experiencing the classics in their intended format. They still stick as closely as possible to the vanilla formula without the limitations of DOS or the system requirement-stretching extremities of more popular source ports like ZDoom. The default controls set for the new era of keyboard, mouse, and gamepad controllers is also considerate. It's just right!
While this version may be Windows only, what they did to make it compatible and considerate for Steam Play is nothing short of impressive. The same goes for the little amount of resources it tries to save, as it even runs fluidly on my Linux office PC in full native resolution. Depending on how dated your integrated GPU is, though, you may get some graphical issues in menu screens, but only just those.
The way mod management works here is a little more complicated than what you usually do in a command prompt or dragging and dropping in a file manager. While you can bypass this if you're online and have a Bethesda account to log in and download stuff, it takes more than just putting this here and that there to make a mod work if you do it all offline and by hand. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for that'll work with this game. Don't think too highly of anything if you were used to what other more popular source ports were capable of.
Anyone who is new to these early Doom titles should feel right at home with this new edition! Those dedicated will be adventurous enough to find how and why Doom runs on so many devices and different ports and how they made their history alongside these games.
This version of Doom is great, not only does it also include Doom 2, but the plutonia experiment, TNT, and more. If you were to buy a version of Doom, this is the one to buy.
Doom and Doom II are two very historically important games and also very fun to play, then and now.
I give $3 and get to kill anything that moves with sick soundtrack! Just like the 90's i was in. I used to fear DOOM tbh at first stages of my "gaming" career but i now understand i must rip and tear until it's done!
Classic D00M is THE fundamental FPS experience you need to play if you want a complete Shooter collection.
10/10. i would change nothing! doom & doom 2 will always be my favorites. id/nightdive did a great job with these new enhanced versions.
They somehow managed to add bugs to this
The ending slides of e2m8 and e3m8 just crash the game
A Golden game Different than most games out there, Really a deep dive worth.
It's actually not just Doom 1 & 2, so realistically I'd have called it Classic Doom Collection. It's a really good value, but maybe grab GZDoom to use with this
This game is actually very fun, I would highly recommend. I will say though, the mods make it so much better.
PERFECT. every second of gameplay is fun and i could not recomend it enough. 10/10
I can finally say 32 years after the game came out that I beat Doom. It's old enough to drink and is still fun to play. The game still has some nice pixel art graphics that held up pretty well. The guns are meaty and feel good to use. The only bad thing about the game is that the later levels start to become more and more maze like. I only ended up having to use a guide twice to find the exit. It takes a bit to get used to not being able to aim up and down, but after that, it's blast to play.
I gotta say that this "redux" was executed pretty well. On the other hand, the multiplayer is some of the sloppiest stuff I've ever played. And also, I really don't get why you'd even play vanilla doom instead of a slightly better one like Gzdoom. In short, good game, mid multiplayer, decent game
This isn't the oldest game updated to this day but it sure as hell is fun to this day. A timeless classic and 4 euros on discount. This game has so many mods and multiplayer support.
10 / 10 - It is the best PC game ever created, no reason to give it a lower score.
This old retro classic is very addictive and very enjoyable as well! It brings back very fond memories of the 1990's. I like the graphics, the gameplay and also the whole first person element as well. I highly recommend this to anyone who is old enough to remember the 1990's.
It can be buggy- but it's also DOOM, what are you going to do? Not play it?
The updated graphics, soundtrack, and UI are incredible.
It's pretty good, it plays fluently and is generally quite fun. I did however find it strange they didn't add freelook to it. Though I wouldn't recommend playing through it immediately after playing through Doom I and 2 that are packaged with doom 3 BFG. (unless you want a breath of fresh air because of the contrast)
Simply an excellent classic DOOM collection. I have still had some issues with crashes, usually when opening or closing th map, but it doesn't always happen.
DOOM is probably the most influential and important PC game in history... but history is boring and videogames are fun, and this game is still fun to this day. The gameplay, visuals and music are excellent in a way that feels timeless. I think the number of "boomer shooters" that take inspiration from games like this is evidence of that.
The controls are probably the way in which DOOM has aged the most poorly, although they are fine when you get used to it; this version modernizes it to being WASD/mouse. however the fact that the mouse only aims side to side (because the up down is done automatically) is still pretty awkward feeling.
Rolling so much of the classic doom products into a single item and adding things like achievements and other various options is pretty great. The remixed soundtrack is very cool, not necessarily better than the original but its a nice addition.
It's also very important to mention that the modding scene for DOOM and DOOM II is amazing. Brutal Doom and Project Brutality for example make lots of fun changes and additions, such as new animations, weapons, ADS and modern controls. This does a great deal to add to replayability and can make the game feel like a modern boomer shooter, while still feeling like DOOM in spirit.
It's DOOM, man. You can play it on your fridge, on your lawnmower, you might as well play it on Steam too.
When I first started, Doom was a dark magic forest to me, but after a little session of studying maps and secrets, i can say that is a very fun and interesting game even after all these years, and is interesting the fact that the developers have made this masterpiece 30 years ago with only a bad computer and a lot of ideas. ☺
Doom + Doom 2, those grandfathers of the first-person shooter genre, continue to defy the ravages of time, proving that raw, unadulterated gameplay can transcend generations. Even after three decades, these titles deliver an adrenaline-pumping experience that feels remarkably fresh. The core gameplay loop—blasting hordes of demonic enemies with an arsenal of iconic weaponry—remains as satisfying as ever. From the lowly Imps hurling fireballs to the hulking Barons of Hell and the terrifying Cyberdemon, the enemy variety keeps the action intense and engaging. The weapons, too, are legendary: the trusty shotgun, the devastating rocket launcher, and of course, the iconic BFG 9000, each delivering a visceral punch that's still unmatched. The level design, a masterclass in intricate layouts and hidden secrets, encourages exploration and rewards strategic thinking. What truly elevates these recent ports, however, is the brilliant addition of built-in mod support, a feature that arrived just last year and has breathed new life into these classics.
The integrated mod support is a revelation. It transforms Doom and Doom II from static classics into dynamic, evolving experiences. Instead of relying on external tools or complex file management, players can now seamlessly browse and install a vast library of community-created content directly within the game. This accessibility unlocks a treasure trove of possibilities, from total conversions that reimagine the entire game world, to gameplay enhancements that refine the combat, and even simple visual upgrades that polish the graphics. This feature is a testament to the enduring passion of the Doom modding community, and it ensures that players, both new and old, will always have fresh and exciting ways to experience these iconic titles. While the sheer volume of available mods is impressive, I can't help but wish that Brutal Doom, a fan-favorite that cranks up the gore and intensity to eleven, was among the official choices. Still, the vast selection available more than compensates. The inclusion of Final Doom within the package further sweetens the deal, providing even more classic content to enjoy.
The addition of achievements, a more recent feature, also provides a fun and engaging way to revisit familiar levels. They encourage players to explore different playstyles and tackle challenges in new ways. And, for those who appreciate a bit of old-school fun, the classic cheat codes still work, allowing you to unlock achievements in a delightfully irreverent manner. It's a charming nod to the game's history and a playful way to bypass some of the more demanding tasks. There's a reason these games have aged so well: they're built on a foundation of tight controls, satisfying combat, and ingenious level design. The recent updates, especially the mod support, have not only solidified their place as timeless classics, but have also ensured that they will remain relevant for generations to come. This update, in particular, will make people be playing this game for the next 30 years, at the very least.
Enjoying this version of Doom and Doom 2. Runs great, and all added features and levels are great to have. These games never get old and It's totally worth getting them for the umpteenth time here.
It's DOOM!!!! What else is there to say. and the new campaign "Legacy of Rust" is a must play alone.
I came to replay DOOM 1 and 2, and experience TNT and Plutonia for the first time.
I left loving Legacy of Rust to pieces.
Oh, absolutely get this. Probably sort of misleading how this advertises itself as "DOOM + DOOM II" when actually it's an expansive product that also includes Final Doom, Master Levels for Doom II, No Rest for the Living, Sigil and the new Legacy of Rust episode. Currently am playing through No Rest for the Living which is an expansion to Doom II with just super great level design, and I guess like maybe I'll get onto Legacy of Rust later. I mean, it's Doom. What more can you say? People may be mixed on stuff like Master Levels for Doom II but its inclusion is good because it's like if you had a James Bond box set that doesn't include something like Die Another Day, or a Bruce Lee box set that doesn't include Game of Death. Something feels missing when it's not there.
Classic. Worth playing not just for its historic value, but because it's a fun game in its own right.
A solid collection of official classic Doom releases as well as a few some community mods. Currently contains The Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Final Doom (TNT Evilution + The Plutonia Experiment), Master Levels for Doom 2, Sigil, No Rest for the Living, and Legacy of Rust. You can of course also play fan made WADs and this version runs on the Kex engine and has all sorts of tweaks and options with a modernized UI. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some source ports like GZ Doom, but out of the box it's a great value for anyone who just wants to download it and play some Doom the easy way.
There's a ton of content for both singleplayer and multiplayer as well as behind the scenes content, a cheat menu, and achievements. Definitely worth it if you're a fan of the series or haven't really given it a try and want an easy way to jump in and try it.
Obviously its Doom its good. the titles hold up today, with logical controls and stuning graphics.
This is a great port of the oringamel games. All DLCs and new Campaigns are a huge plus!
Multiplayer is fantastic, you will not get bored if you are a Hardcore doom fan.
