In the spirit of our ethos of transparency and integrity we want you to know that our game is at ALPHA stage in EARLY ACCESS and will therefore contain many bugs and have performance issues on low to mid-end machines. We’re really proud of how it plays so far (it’s a lot of fun!) but if your rig DOES NOT meet the RECOMMENDED spec then the game may not perform well and as much as we appreciate your support we would suggest that you wait until later in development before you invest your money. We don’t want you buying something that’s going to disappoint you.

About the Game
Jaws Of Extinction (JoE) is a story-driven, single-player, and multiplayer, horror-survival RPG. Your story begins on a large, open-world island known as Eden-Nadir; a place renowned for its beauty and thriving wildlife.
You will be faced with decisions that you may not wish to make as you battle against terrifying infected locals, brutal armed survivors, dangerous native wildlife, exposure to the elements, and the threats posed by other players.
Play single-player, co-op with up to 4 friends, or multiplayer on a dedicated server. Follow the storyline and uncover the dark secrets of Eden-Nadir or go off the beaten track and simply survive in the huge, open-world, hand-crafted environment.
The infected can do almost everything you can do—climb, vault, run, and even open doors. To get an edge, players must use stealth, cunning and the appropriate equipment to survive.
The infected are not reanimated undead. They are conscious and completely aware of what is happening, but have no control over their actions. Screaming in pain, they are slaves to the fungal parasite seen protruding from wounds on their bodies.
Headshots will spread a cloud of hazardous fungal spores. The best way to eliminate the infected is by damaging the heart. Take mercy on them.
Infected are attracted to water and become extremely dangerous when exposed to it. Every trip to a reliable watering hole carries risk, and be wary of straying too far from safety when dark clouds are overhead. The skies will betray you in other ways too. Beware of flocks of carrion birds that will give away your position.
What will be your profession? You can build, craft, trade, farm, hunt, fight, scavenge, loot, ambush and steal… it’s all up to you! How will you choose to survive?
The island of Eden-Nadir’s diverse biomes range from sweeping lavender and cornfields to sun-dappled forests and beautiful seashores which feed into murky swamps. If you're looking to settle in a more urban environment, then the island is dotted with deserted towns, fortified cities, even quaint villages and picturesque countryside retreats. All waiting to be claimed.

This has improved a lot but still needs time to cure and iron out the issues here and their. Get it on sell and for the price its really not that bad. Just give it time. Will recommend.
It’s unplayable I crash after I pick my character and I’m not playing in a potato at all but the game has potential to succeed and be a great game
Revisited game after years of NOT playing, but to no surprise, still absolute trash! It actually runs even worse than before on my new PC.
What is the deal with this game? It runs so badly and yet even on ultra settings it looks worse than ps2 graphics!
The best example of a game which turns up running on your sound device instead of your GPU, that's why it has same low performance/stutter no matter your spec high end or low, no matter your graphic settings ultra or low, because it uses not your GPU and not even your CPU to render, it blandly using your Sound Card to render. It took me headache pills and 21 hours to understand :D
I strongly believe if production company release this game and code with free licence, modders and community would take this and fix it probably into a really nice survival game. trust me and try it, its 5 years, what to lose on a dead upplayable game?
NOTE: The unreal engine 5 edition is NOT out despite the false advertising on the store page. Apparently it's in beta on discord (rather than a steam beta?!?). Wait on this one.
I know I haven't played much, but at least as it is now, this game is rough. It's got some really good ideas, and the UI looks good, but it has a number of quality of life issues. First of all while they are improving the performance it was pretty bad in terms of consistency and framerate. Second of all the game visually looked like something was off - maybe postprocessing? Third, while the devs have said there is an exit button I was not able to locate it. Other than performance it wasn't one thing, but didn't meet general standards.
This is a game I would not recommend based on what I played, however with the UE5 update, and potentially future work it might be different. The concept of the game is really good, and I hope they can pull it off. I will gladly update my review if that becomes the case.
No communication or update for 3 months, might be abandoned. They claimed they were working on an update, but might just be a scam.
