Goldfinger - Superman Ryan George Style Pitch Meeting Honest Trailer for Deadbeat Heroes
Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up
So here I am,
Trying hard to understand,
Holding on to my controller,
But I’m starting to feel like a fool, oh no!
I’m stuck on repeat,
This mission’s no treat,
The game’s got me grinding my teeth ‘til I scream.
The nights are so long,
Yeah, I’m singing this song,
Wondering if I’ll ever escape this meme.
And I’m so confused about what to do,
Sometimes I wanna toss my console too.
So here I am,
Playing longer all the time,
Looking tired all the time,
Feeling like I’m losing my mind.
So here I am,
Trying hard to withstand,
Each level’s a bland jam,
I just want to be a superhero!
I’m trying to sleep,
But I can’t count sheep,
All these enemy waves are making me weep.
But could I do more?
I’m ready to roar,
Just let me skip the cutscenes, I’m out the door!
And I’m so confused about what to do,
Sometimes I wanna rage-quit on you.
With no checkpoints in sight,
Fighting foes, and it’s not right!
You’re telling me to clear this stage,
But it feels like I’m stuck in a cage.
What if all I wanna do,
Is just sit and watch the game bug out too?
Then I’ll have to say goodbye,
To fun times that just passed me by.
To just pass me by.
So here I am,
Playing longer all the time,
Feeling older all the time,
Yeah, I’m stuck in this grind.
So here I am,
Doing all that I can,
Holding on to my plan,
Pretending I’m a superhero!

Scene opens in a colorful office filled with superhero memorabilia. The Publisher, Ryan George, sits at a desk, looking a bit confused. The Game Designer, also Ryan George, bursts in enthusiastically. Suddenly, the door slams open, and All Might dramatically enters, striking an over-the-top pose.
All Might: arms spread wide, grinning “I AM HERE! And I’ve brought the power of friendship and justice!”
Game Designer: almost shoving All Might aside, ignoring his entrance “Yes! So, you have a superhero beat-em-up for me?”
Publisher: “Wait, it’s not just any superhero game. It’s a Deadbeat Heroes game?”
Game Designer: “Yes, sir, I do! Picture this: you play as these slack-off heroes in a 1970s London, where supervillains have taken over. You dodge bullets, steal powers, and crack jokes. It’s basically what happens when British humor collides with comic books!”
Publisher: “So you fight villains, right?”
Game Designer: “Absolutely! But instead of classic brawling, you chain together these insane combos while the world is literally collapsing around you! Super easy, barely an inconvenience!”
Publisher: “Oh, really? What if I just want to throw punches?”
Game Designer: “No, no! You need to impress the audience! They’re watching, like some weird social media experiment. Saving people? Nah, just collect wads of cash! Because why not? It’s like a charity drive, but for you!”
Publisher: rubbing his temples “Collecting cash instead of saving lives? Very considerate…”
All Might: enthusiastically nodding “It’s like a hero’s side hustle! You gotta keep up with the rent for your superhero lair!”
Game Designer: grinning “Exactly! And if you mess up, you get a D grade! I mean, college was hard enough, right?”
Publisher: “A grading system for a beat-em-up game? That sounds... fair enough?”
All Might: dramatically placing a hand on his chest “But every great hero faces trials! It builds character! Or at least builds a very lucrative streaming channel!”
Game Designer: “That’s the spirit! And boss battles? Totally anticlimactic! Just walk into a room and say, ‘Hey! I’m gonna fight you now!’ Very considerate, right?”
Publisher: leaning back in disbelief “Oh my god, that sounds dreadful!”
All Might: dramatically stepping forward “But wait! I have something to make this even more exciting!” He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a handful of his own hair. “Eat this hair, and you’ll become the buffest versions of yourselves!”
Game Designer: eyes wide “Wait, what? Eat your hair?”
Publisher: “That’s the most bizarre power-up I’ve ever heard!”
All Might: winking “Trust me! Just one bite and you’ll feel like you could lift a building!”
They both look at each other, shrug, and take a big bite of All Might’s hair. Suddenly, they transform, bulking up dramatically, flexing their newfound muscles.
Game Designer: now incredibly buff “Whoa! I feel like I could punch through a wall! Or at least make a really convincing flex!”
Publisher: flexing and looking surprised “My shirt is tight!”
All Might: proudly “Now you have the strength to take on the world! Or at least this game’s mechanics!”
Game Designer: “Wait, so if we’re all buff now, does that mean we can take on the bosses without the awful combat mechanics?”
All Might: “Uh, no, you’ll still have to work through that! But you’ll look great doing it!”
Publisher: “What? So, I’m still stuck with confusing mechanics, and now I’m just muscularly confused?”
Game Designer: “Exactly! And the art style? Tight! It’s cel-shaded with jazz-funk music! You can’t not feel cool, even if you’re failing miserably!”
All Might: striking another heroic pose “And you’ll look good while you do it! That’s what real heroes do!”
Publisher: “Wow wow wow. Wow. But if I have to keep replaying levels, won’t that drive people to rage-quit?”
Game Designer: “Whoopsie! But think of the potential for funny Twitch streams! ‘Look at this idiot trying to beat the boss for the tenth time!’ It’ll be a viral hit!”
All Might: clenching his fist dramatically “And when they finally succeed, the victory will taste even sweeter! Just like a homemade meal after a long day!”
Publisher: “What? So the game is intentionally frustrating? What if all I can do is watch time go by?”
Game Designer: “That’s what we’re going with! Life’s too short to not watch your character get pummeled!”
All Might: striking another heroic pose “And what a great lesson for aspiring heroes! Failure is just the first step to success!”
Game Designer: “And then there’s a motivational speech in the game! ‘Believe in yourself, even if you suck at saving the world!’”
All Might: beaming “That’s a spirit! But don’t forget to add a touch of heroism!”
Publisher: “Well, okay then! I guess that works. So, what’s the tagline?”
Game Designer: “Deadbeat Heroes: Where saving the day is just an optional side quest!”
All Might: smiling “With a side of muscles!”
Publisher: “Well, that’s it! I’m sold! Let’s get this thing rolling!”
Game Designer: “Great! It’s going to be a blast! Just don’t expect too much!”
Scene fades out as they all flex their muscles and laugh together, with All Might striking one last dramatic pose, hair billowing in the imaginary wind.

In a world where heroism means taking the easy way out, welcome to Deadbeat Heroes, the game where you can "borrow" powers because why bother developing your own?
Join a ragtag crew of slackers in a vibrant, 1970s London, where your biggest challenge is not the villains but figuring out why you even started this fight! Combat is chaotic and confusing, with controls that make you feel like you’re piloting a blender instead of a hero!
Enjoy over 35 levels packed with enemies that pop up like bad jokes—just when you think you’ve defeated one, another 20 show up! Because who doesn’t love relentless waves of goons? You’ll spend more time dodging attacks than actually landing your own!
With a plot as forgettable as yesterday’s lunch, you’ll find yourself wondering, “Why am I here?” Spoiler: Nobody knows! The story serves up clichés like a cheap diner menu. Heroes, villains, cash, rinse, repeat!
But hey, who needs a gripping narrative when you can collect cash and pretend you’re a superhero? And let’s not forget the character dialogue—cringe-worthy one-liners that make you groan louder than your dying hero!
Deadbeat Heroes: Because being a hero is overrated—just steal someone else’s powers!
I didn't understand anything while playing. But it was fun
look if your going to bother getting voice over artists, then how about an original concept rather than imitating clap trap (boarder lands) without the funny and also if you actually write some comedy material ..couldnt hurt. Plus being English is NOT a character in and of itself, trust me I live here its like giving up all expression and just stringing your nerve sets straight on to your guitar.Forced charisma alone does not A HAHA make! Iam not necessarily saying that it is annoying or boring or even abrasive but I did grind my ears off and put them in a blended health shake to feel better!
The game needs action and intrigue within its limited confines, some WOOO moments, some BOOM BOOM, speed, explosions, A crazy and/or funny story, Then and only then can you charge 11 squidz for button spam and chips.
Great idea and always happy to try co-ops that actually work (wich it does) and that steam didnt get rid of and no longer saves (E.G:sanctum of slime RRRR!).
gameplay.
like playing sensible soccer on the Amiga without the cannon fodder x-over (linear).
buy on big big sale.
wait this is square enix??? COME ON!
Can you make beat 'em up work with one punch combos? - yes, you can!
Joguinho ok. Bom pra passar o tempo.
Its perfect and funny!
I wish I could say I love it - really I want to give it a thumbs sideways.
On the positive side: the artwork is beautiful and watching it being played is really entertaining. The dialogue and color scheme are both really well delivered as well.
On the negative side: there just doesn't feel like there's any substance or depth to it. Also - very little skill seems to be involved beside mashing.
Overall - if you're desperate for a local-coop game that really basic beat-em-up this will do, especially if it's on sale for $5 or less. Otherwise, don't expect anything of depth or really alluring from this.
On a side note, I hope the devs use this game as a starting point to develop a more involved and much more expansive game. They've got a beautiful Viewtiful Joe style going on here and decent game play mechanics. I just want more.
fun game .
a few bugs
like cant reset the level
and
at the end of the level sometimes you get stuck in the fianl room. no results screen shows up
but other than that its fast paced really fun if you into that frantic hotline miami gameplay
