A Note From The Developer:
First, we should address the elephant in the room - SAELIG has been in Early Access like 7 years. That's a long time. What's the deal with that then?
Well SAELIG is a hobby project I work on after work and on weekends, and there is no set ending or final design. SAELIG continues to evolve over time and is updated fairly often with fixes, tweaks, and new features. So while SAELIG is in Early Access, it's less because it's missing lots of content, and more because I see it as a living project. It's always evolving and changing, and I feel like the Early Access tag is a convenient way to indicate just how much aspects of the game can change between updates.
The Game:
SAELIG is a strategy game that blends simulation, RPG elements, trading, and business management, where your goal is to ensure the survival, wealth, and legacy of your family. Set in the Dark Ages of England, you’ll step into the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Wessex during a time of turmoil. Engage in commerce, manage your enterprises, and make crucial decisions to carve your own path and leave a lasting mark on the world for generations to come.
You have the freedom to shape your destiny and play your way—become a trader, a business owner, a hardworking labourer, a landlord, a cunning criminal, a vigilant watchman, an influential abbot, a skilled hunter, or explore other roles. The choice is yours.
SAELIG features a dynamic, living world where every action counts, and each character leads a life of their own. You’re not here to save the world or play the hero—you’re here to live your life, make your choices, and do your best to thrive in a world full of possibilities.
SAELIG offers many possibilities for how you approach the game, giving you the freedom to shape your story in countless ways:
Begin your journey however you choose—from beggar to business owner and everything in between.
Forge your own path, regardless of your starting point.
Find love, start a family, and build a lasting dynasty.
Rise to power as an Abbot running the church, or take charge as a Town-Reeve, placing yourself above the law.
Take on a humble job and earn your keep with honest work.
Become a gravedigger, earning silver by tending to the dead, or care for the village children at the Learning Hall.
Forage for resources and sell your findings at the market.
Hunt wild animals and profit from processing their hides and meat.
Trade goods between markets and seize opportunities for wealth.
Establish towns and build them up alongside the other civilians.
Adopt orphans and send them to work in the mines.
Invest in properties and rent out homes for steady income.
Run a variety of businesses to supply towns with vital goods.
Buy land and develop it, helping the community grow.
Manipulate the economy, start fires, hoard resources, and create chaos if you wish.
Turn to a life of crime, stealing your way to riches.
Fight for survival against brutal Viking raids.
Win the favour of the King and rise to the rank of Thegn.
And so much more—your story is yours to create.
SAELIG has a living world that deepens your experience:
A living, breathing world where every character is striving to survive and thrive.
Every character has a full life, from birth to death, and the ability to influence the world just like you.
Experience multiple generations—when your character dies, continue the story as one of your children.
Dynamic seasons and weather that impact the environment and gameplay.
A variety of buildings to construct, purchase, and upgrade to suit your needs.
Fires and diseases that can devastate not only your home but entire towns and villages.
A living economy where every item is produced and consumed by the population—nothing exists without purpose.
A knowledge system that rewards practice and mastery, allowing you to improve skills through repeated actions.

The game is regularly updated by the developer. It is like an indie version of The Guild. You can either be a criminal or hold a variety of professions and be a land-owner. It's a fun sim game that fills the historical niche.
Playtrough ruined after all my buildings burned and there was no option to stop it even if all my buildings where right next to water.
As someone who loves the Sims Medieval,, Crusader Kings, Sapiens, Wolfquest and Stardew Valley I have to say that this game is a combination of all my favourite elements!
Adopted A child from the Church.. Put him to work the next day in my gold mine! 10/10! Bravo thanks for a gem of a game!
Paid full price for this hidden gem, and it's worth EVERY penny! I haven't even had it a week, and I've already sunk 34 hours into the game, and have no intention of slowing down. I hope there's still more content and updates coming out for it, but so far, the Dev has delivered one of the best thought out games I've ever played. Graphics may be a little rough, but the gameplay is better than any of the "triple A" GARBAGE that's being regurgitated up by companies who charge $80 for it. It's got a lot to learn, and the game does crash occasionally. So far, it's only happened once, and it was right after I died to a Viking raider. Luckily, it's fun to start a new character and go back into the thick of things! Thank you Dev, from the bottom of my heart, for making a game that I actually WANT to keep playing!
Day 1:
Bought some land, built some huts.
Some people moved to town and started renting
Started talking to them
Day 2:
Caught plague and died.
Absolutely fantastic.
This is from my first play-through so far:
1. First wife died to the plague after only having 1 kid with me
2. I just became a Geneat in the social class, so was feelin kinda rich'
3. Started a corral business and upgraded it a fair bit
4. Hired an eligible woman from a lower social class to be my first worker
5. Slowly raise wages each day, and flirting with her, increasing relationship quickly
6. Her skills at pig butchering were increasing a ton, still she was fairly pricey to upkeep
7. Got our relationship high enough to marry her, she accepted, had 2 more kids.
8. She works for free now and i get free expert pig butchering labour
9. Profit
This game right here is what was lost so many years ago in the gaming industry. I can tell the *1 dev* put his heart into this game. So much content, so many things and or directions you can go in this game. I feel out right lucky I stumbled upon this game. I have been addicted to it since I purchased it. 1 dev puts shame to the whole damn AAA industry! I feel guilty for waiting till this game was on sale to purchase it.. this dev surely deserved full price on this beauty of a game! At my age I almost thought I had grown bored of gaming but it was the way the new games are created. Most of the industry have lost sight in what makes a game fun and or entertaining.
A fun little town management / medieval peasant simulator. The combat is lackluster, but far from the main focus. Live out the life of your peasant and his/her heirs, and just try to get by- or try to become a thane that can hold a vast number of properties tax free. The npcs have their own lives to live as well as the same needs that you do, and will compete with you and each other towards their goals. You hold no advantages over the AI save for any advanced micro managing and planning skills that you as a player have. Socialization is an important part of the game, and there is both positive and negative gossip. It is not always a simple task to kill off other citizens and get away with it..but it is doable under the right circumstances. Far easier to sneakily destroy the properties of your competitors until their wealth dries up. There is plenty to do to keep you occupied, and the events are fairly random. The dev adds new updates fairly often, and this is far from being abandonware. Definately worth the purchase if you enjoy these types of games.
Ok this is a tough one. I love the game style and premise, but the AI is awful... Example, there is no way to tell a family member or employee to rest when sick or injured, case and point my characters wife was heavily pregnant and had a broken bone and yet is still wandering around the town at 3am, tell her to relax, she does for 5 min then up and to the alehouse again... There is alot to enjoy about the game but there are many, many bugs still. Had the game crash 2x from vikings spawning, had skill progressions stick to the screen and refuse to go away unless the game is reloaded, same thing for info popups cant close them sometimes. Had alot of issues with people getting stuck trying to get around eachother and then doing so until they exhaust themselves. The ai doesnt seem to understand what to do with horses on auto, they just sit there 90% of the time, and speaking of auto, you cannot help at a building thats on auto, the game wont allow you, you have to drop auto to be able to help there. Overall, its a good game and I enjoy how skills progress and the ability to teach others and give them medicine to heal them, just needs more time in the oven to be good.
This is the closest I've come to enjoying a game in fifteen years. Fully recommend.
Very fun medieval business Simulator. Would recommend! Somewhat Kenshi-like but Anglo-medieval and more focused on business. If that sounds enjoyable to you this one is right up your alley.
For the developers: I know it's not the mist important mechanic BUT I think it would be cool if you overhauled the socializing in this game to resemble something like 'The Sims' series.
I don't care much about what the NPC's have to say and wouldn't mind the chatting being streamlined by word bubbles in addition to additional ways of interacting with the villagers.
Overall: Fun game - would recommend
a very fun game imo, watch some youtube videos if it looks like something you would like i definitely recommend playing.
and to the developer kudos to you for keeping you passion project alive all these years.
Fantastic medieval game combining numerous elements of that time period, grow your family, your businesses, your whole empire! Live the noble honest life, or take a darker route!!
Definitely a neat game!
What an interesting game! It combines several genres that I haven't seen combined before.
It's a choose your own adventure RPG. I could live off the lands and survive or I could settle towns and build businesses and own homes and rent them to folks.
I can get married and have children, which I sadly can abandon (lol), don't worry there's an orphanage available.
My wife, and assume my children can commit crimes, unbeknownst to me, which creates some funny scenarios. I think my wife got fined for defecating while giving birth lmao.
Basically the sims but medieval, They say game is fully playable in FPS but i have doubts after having tried it.
Not a fan.
Play Kenshi instead, Sure no FPS mode but it's way easier to control and learn.
I'll get into this one another time, I don't have hours to dump into a tutorial to master the control system atm. Maybe after i get another depressive streak i'll revisit this one.
Soulash 2, Kenshi, Adventure Mode DF, Elin, this game. There's a special world out there wherein these types of games are more common, but right now, this one does a DAMN fine job at the advertised gameplay.
This is a fantastic open ended sandbox RPG. I am even seeing some Ruinarch concepts here, before that game died it was nearly one of the legendaries. There are no god powers here, but there's so much to do in regards to messing with the history of your little towns.
A grand focus on the dynamism and reactivity of NPC's would be nice! More, mess with this person in this way and a logical reaction occurs, but otherwise! Gotta say, this game is shaping up to be one of the greats.
I hope the game becomes a linked open world game to make it more interesting for markets and exo markets (thievery) nice system but it can have a lot more and hope to see what comes to pass thank you for the game and hope my words help with something bigger then the current build. i do have fun with the game just localisation is restrictive.
This game is a treat. To my eye the art is perfect for the period. Love the open world open destiny approach. Lots of crafts and skills to master. A social layer that matters. The challenge is to find a way to amass wealth and income in an impoverished community and help build it up. Lots of maps for re-playability. First game. Bought a bakery. Realised I was skill 0/100 in baking! Not a problem. Bread is profitable. That is why they call money 'bread'. Recommended buy 7/10. With the low game price value is 8/10.
Kenshi like UI - very utilitarian, but SAELIG plays nothing like it. It's mainly a game about managing a business.
The execution is not perfect, but it's unique and ambitious enough to be worth it.
Game is fairly well put together. Dev is very responsive with issue. Currently enjoying the game a lot.
Small issue with avatars for people. Sometimes they have no heads, other times they have 2 heads mixed together.
I believe archery should give you a small gain on missing the target as well. Seems like it will take a year to level your archery otherwise. I typically have to choose a few levels in this just to be able to hit once in a while.
Honestly can't really complain about anything at this point except that. Played 44 hours, 4 different characters. Enjoying the game at this point.
kenshi-like. pr good
cannot wait for a more in-depth talking mechanic (I have committed various heinous crimes, why can't I confess or brag/threaten ppl? & just more questions would be fun, I wanna know more abt my wife & kids T-T)
also had an update recently, not had this game long so it's pr regular. big W dev :)
Capitalism is, at it's core, a zero-sum game. I scraped together some silver, and lived the life of a humble bakeshop owner. I had a wife, a house, and two kids. But I wasn't satisfied with the life of a baker, it is a lot of work, and after paying the miller for flour, didn't have a lot left over.
So with a lot of work and saving every bit, I bought out the miller's mill, and then, not satisfied with paying the farmer for his wheat, I bought his farm. For some, this was more than enough to live happily ever after, I was medieval Rockefeller at this point.
But still, I wanted more. Started buying up houses in town and renting them out. But I was tired of tenants renting from other landlords because they undercut me on rent. So I bought every house in town.
Now I own every house in town, and control most places of employment and industry. I daily flood the market with goods, depressing prices, and keeping any upstarts from competing with me. Everyone in town buys the food I produce, lives in the houses I own, and works for wages which I pay. Knowing the price of food, and setting the rent,
I am able to keep my town in a perpetual state of poverty, paying juuust enough to cover rent and food for the day. And the best part is, the peasants show up to work every day, none the wiser, thinking if I just work a little harder and a little longer, i'll make it. But the truth is, I've put everyone on an invisible hamster wheel for the rest of their lives.
10/10 Very relatable to me, as a person living in year 2025
10/10 Great Game
To me, the game feels very much like playing the old 'The Guild' game, a particular itch that was very hard to scratch over these years. Even at this stage of development, it felt very good to play and I would definitely recommend if you are looking or a similar experience.
Fun game if you like simulation games, its not SUPER similar to bannerlord or dwarf fortress or kenshi but if you like those games you'll like this one if yknow what i mean.
Medieval England (imagine the series 'The Last Kingdom') + Kenshi (sandbox world, easy to start but with deep and rich systems) + Mount & Blade world vibes (with the economy simulation, which is waaay more refined here. Albeit, not that combat heavy). A bit more macro than Medieval Dynasty (has first person mode, but its way better to play on third person). Some people say its the spiritual successor of The Guild 2 with a tad of Banished (I did not play both). So far a perfect mix for me. AND THE AMAZING DEV KEEPS UPDATING AND RESPONDING IN THE COMMUNITY DISCORD-ALMOST LIKE HE NEVER SLEEPS! (Please do, we love your work and want you to be healthy and happy as well).
TLDR: If you love medieval 'RPG' with an emphasis on settlement economy & business owning with a dash of survival (not THAT combat heavy). Buy it. Its great. And it gets better. A hidden gem, plain and simple.
I am having a blast with this game. You can pretty much do as you want with character. One day I am hunting with my trusty fox (Freddy) and my chicken (daisy). The next day I am fighting off invaders while I am trying to get a wife. The amount of freedom you have in this game is incredible. I find the graphics and sounds very calming. This game is top notch.
Saelig: Immersive Life-Sim Management Done Right
My god, this was the most fun i had in a game since The Guild 2 Renaissance. I have been looking a life-sim management game with an immersive economy and roleplay for so long, and this game really scratched that itch. Have you ever wanted to experience life as an ordinary citizen, working your way up the social ladder, being a worker, landlord, business owner, or even a criminal? Saelig offers precisely that.
The game also excels at immersing the player in their character's daily life roleplaying aspect, in which seemingly minor details, such as visible building interiors, detailed animations for everyday actions, NPCs with their own routines, ambitions, and lives, and dynamic interactions between characters—both NPC-to-NPC and player-to-NPC—all contribute to a deeply engaging experience. This level of details are, in my opinion, what sets Saelig and The Guild 2 Renaissance apart from The Guild 3 in terms of immersiveness. Granted, some things are still rough a bit around the edges that needs more polishing (rough camera work, economy balance, npc line of sight, etc.), but the foundation for a great game can already be seen. With consistent updates throughout the years, the future of Saelig looks incredibly promising.
It is criminal that only so few knew of this gem, as I myself have only recently found out through one of Splattercat's video. I'm certain other fans who appreciate this type of game will see Saelig's potential, and I sincerely hope it achieves the success and recognition it deserves.
I played SAELIG back in 2017. At that time, the game felt extremely bare-bones, but it captivated me nonetheless. Fast forward to 2025, and I decided to dust it off. I’m amazed at how far the game has come, and it’s impressive to see your consistent updates over the years. I see even more growth potential for the future. Thank you for being a shining example of consistency and progress.
A good watch the numbers go up game. Shouldn't even be in early access anymore. It has a lot of content
fun emergent gameplay but definitely full of indie jank. a gem in the rough that will probably never be polished, but for those who can have fun playing in citybuilders around without the polish, its worth a look. if you are not used to playing early access and half developed stuff, i would avoid it, this is not for you.
Game is very similar to The Guild series, except its not full of bugs and weird off putting voice overs.
Very fun game. Social Economic building your family line a stable means to thrive whether that is through Politics, Economic, or Crime. Choice is yours and this game has HOURS and HOURS of fun to be had trying the different play styles.
I really enjoy the game and would recommend this game to anyone interested
However I do have a bad point that I have to raise out, not sure if it's just me but there seem to have "FPS death" (Seen in other games like Dwarf Fortress) few years into the game which make the game slow down a lot and take long to load my save file.
Would like to see mods support added to the game so that the game can expand further than it already is
Saelig is a perfect game.
It was on my wishlist for about 3-4 years, and I was really skeptical because of the price compared to other great games. Games like Skyrim, KCD, and Anno were often below $10, and even games like Medieval Dynasty and Manor Lords, which are more similar (at least in theory), have much larger development teams.
Forget all of that!
Pro:
This game is a work of art. It made me feel like a medieval beggar at first. I had to hunt, cut wood, and work my way up to nobility. Once you figure out how to manage everything, it's amazing. The way market demand and supply work (based only on what is made in town) feels revolutionary.
Con:
When managing multiple businesses of the same type, there's no way to identify which business you need in the trading routes tab. For example, if I have three fields (1 oat, 1 wheat, 1 barley), I can’t tell which one is which in that tab.
Additionally, in the trade route tab, I have about 15 businesses, and while everything works well initially, after a few hours, 2 out of the 15 stopped collecting.
Overall:
This is a must-have for people who love trading and/or medieval games.
First Impression
This is the ugliest game I have ever tried to play! I started playing after a session of Manor Lords, so this game was a shock. Even after 40 hours in, it’s still ugly—especially the buildings. The menus overlap, the camera is all over the place, and there are some bugs, like automation stopping in the shops, carts getting stuck, or ending up on the other side of the map.
Second Impression
Wow, what a finely balanced economy game! I love it, especially when I realized it’s a follow-up to a fan-based mod of The Guild 2. This game challenges me—it’s all about tweaking, planning, and making tough decisions. From time to time, my economy takes a hit due to overly ambitious investments, and I’m forced to sell things I’d rather keep.
If you’re an old fan of The Guild 2, buy it. Just be sure to change the camera setting to RTS mode and reassign the spacebar to pause the game. And whatever you do, avoid using the “follow person” function—unless you enjoy being completely disoriented.
Pretty solid game, has some bugs and quirks but I enjoy playing it overall. Based on some game play videos I watched on YouTube the game has improved overtime. I hope this will continues, keep it up Atorcoppe!
It just lagged and crashed. Clunky and far away from being a smooth experience.
A great LITTLE GEM for thoes who love games like "The Guild"
Sure, the graphics might look a little janky, but underneath is a game with a lot of heart and soul. This wasn't even on my radar despite being a huge fan of management style games and being a *mild* fan of The Guild series. What made me hit the add to cart button was seeing such an active solo developer. There are regular worthwhile updates and improvements being made and from what I can tell, so much of them were originally player suggestions or based on feedback. I LOVE that so much. There is a bit of learning curve, but not much more than your other detail management style games like Crusader Kings. If you just like to optimise systems and strategies, you can play without having to attend to needs. I now have a few different saves that I play depending on the play style I have that day. One where I can just start sending out my caravans with luxury goods and totally go Medieval Tycoon on it and another where I'm micromanaging my character and the skills their developing.
Some other favourite things I would like to mention:
- The completely fresh start map, Defenascir, makes you feel like you're actually one of the villagers in Banished (a favourite game).
- I actually love that my horse and cart can go to the shops for me. I imagine the horse pulling up to the market with a wet note in its mouth "fruit, eggs, milk, barley, 1 x Leather Hooded Amour (currently on sale)".
- I acquired all the silver coins to throw feasts at my Longhouse, but the only people that showed up were CHILDREN and they DRANK MY ALE and proceeded to drunkenly stumble out.
- I tried so hard for the king to like me, but not even the other Thegns came to my feast.
- Note, these are the same kids that do the floss dance DURING the sermon in church. It comes to no surprise that these children are also thieves.
- I don't care that they are 12 and have no relevant skills, I am hiring them to work at my mines. I think of this as community service in order to keep the kids off the streets.
- I may be the town abbot, but that does not stop me from creating poisonous cheeses to gift to rival business owners. If they are of sturdy constitution, there's always a place for a little bit of arson.
- The routing issues create some pretty funny visuals, like 3 carts colliding and then pushing against each other futiley and kind of spin slowly like a slow horse and cart propeller lol.
- Every other villager has its own AI life. Sometimes I wish I could see what was going on in their heads, like see what their connections are because they'll do things like run across town to just verbally assault someone, and I know it's not random because you start noticing patterns in their friendship networks by with who they want to talk to and who they want to fight. It's kind of nice not knowing and just seeing the drama unfold.
- Everyone is competing for and contributing to the same pool of resources so it makes it both fun to know that you're supporting the town by supplying basic goods, making it affordable for the townsfolk, but it's even nicer when you've monopolised the market and resources to starve off the competition.
All in all, a fun game that has been going strength to strength since 2017 and I'm glad to be now part of the journey!
So me personally i really wish games had demos. this game alone took me 65 minutes to get through the tutorial. I took my time, and i am sick. 1 thing the game didnt mention but i learned. You can rebind Keys for controls like for the camera. I not a fan of the base setup lol. but i was able to change it to what I want.
The tutorial never mentioned or showed any combat, no archery any of that sadly. i was hoping to see what that entails.
so far this game is essentiall Guid game remake. but imo way better more detailed from what little i have seen.
other issue is something most everyone talks about. Inventory management is clunky, i know dev is looking into it, and i was aware of it Before purchase from reviews, and other vids all mentioning it.
overall i wish this had a Mid option. its not bad, not imo thumbs Up at this point of playtime. i doing the review now while its fresh. and deciding if i play more. or refund.... its hard for me to stick with a game when they dont even have demo. Let your product sell its self. i really like to run around for few hours get solid feel for the game. before being commited.
still 15.00 isnt end of the world either.
The better "guild 3" with issues obviously mostly the small stuff and unclear or rather diffculit spikes. I was supirsed how you can pickpocket people but the money gain is awful! However, for example hunting is very punishing where you can end up hiting stuff and it goes outside the map. Uppgrading stuff is also qute confusing for example I maxed out cart and suddenly I needed a horse to pull the cart, but in reality you should be able to push the cart. Another annoying thing that I found was that if you have a wife you cannot tell her what to do or how to get a job.
Besides these issues, the game defeintly has a really cool AI when it comes to compitition compare to the guild. Possbilities are also neat just wish the years were longer I felt like I went from 18 to 25 in NO time.
Fun for the amount charged for this game. Fills a medieval simulation type hole in my heart.
Basically some weird mix between Kenshi, Crusader Kings and perhaps Stardew Valley.
You play in simulated 880(?)AD england on one of a few decently sized maps with "passive" kenshi-esque control over your character. And it is one of those games that really simulate a world. The player is just one of hundreds of people populating it, no special treatment whatsoever. I love this design.
It's a bit janky, sure, the depth is limited, yeah, but it is one of those games that has a damn vibe. And it has this special quality of telling a different story each time.
Like, this one:
I started out as a bum, met a rich girl, proposed to her, got turned down because i didn't have enough money, grinded out the money... and then she had allready married another guy.
So i was pissed, moved to a different town, bought a hut, and met my future wife. And she is, without a doubt, the best virtual wife i have ever had (Which sounds way more sad than it is);
She has good stats in "waylaying" and melee, so she constantly gets into fights and tries to mug people. Sometimes she is successful and we get some cash, usually she fails, someones bones get broken and we have to pay a fine. When she isn't doing that she is buying ale and mead from our cash. Oh and yeah, she is also pregnant.
In short, this game is incredibly cozy and criminally underrated.
Saelig is a 10/10 medieval simulation that allows you to do practically anything from being a beggar to creating your own town or building a business empire. I was impressed with these options and the graphics. It's definitely on my top ten favorite simulations!
Impressive title from a single developer.
The first game in a long time to hit those The Guild 2 vibes, but SÆLIG has its own distinctive flavor. I like the setting and time period a lot.
Pathfinding needs more love, you can tell characters *really* want to follow roads, I'm guessing this is the most compute-efficient, but it leads to your characters taking detours sometimes, which can be frustrating in a game that's in part about time management.
Overall, it's a cozy medieval life simulation game. Thoroughly recommended
It's a surprisingly zen game. I did a trader start. Manually ran around moving goods to earn money. At some point upgraded my tent to a hut, planted a vegetable garden and grew my own food. Used my cart to continue trading, eventually saving enough to buy the local bakery. Now I'm employing 5 people and supplying the town with bread, while still earning money from lucrative trades.
The dev seems responsive in Steam Discussions and on Discord, and patches the game regularly, so for a passion project that's still very active after many years of development. So it's fun already, and likely will become even more fun as the dev adds more things to the game.
Fantastic game similar to The Guild, it is in early access but the developer updates it regularly, any bug reports are addressed quickly. Had an issue that the dev fixed for me in less than an hour! New features added all the time, buying early access games can be really risky but this one has truly surprised me with how active and helpful the dev is. I think this game would also be really enjoyable for any Sims players that like to mod their game to a medieval one, or enjoyed The Sims Medieval.
Any game that allows me to defecate in someones house as a form of revenge gets a thumbs up from me.
I love the idea of this game, really awesome!
However, it is a no from me as it stands..
The UI is a disaster.
1. No information about skills, what are they good for? Some are obvious but other less so. Ingame info is lacking in general. Everything should have long on-hover descriptions on what it does, how to use it, what is it good for, how to do it...
2. No progressbar on skills (shows only how much XP needed for advancement, like 0.767exp till level, what does that even mean? Am I 76% towards next level? How much do a I get per task? No explanation.. ).
3. If I level up a Skill, why not show it to me in the Log? You see all sorts of stuff but not leveling up a skill? Or really just show a huge "Archery leveled up to 15!"in the middle of the screen.
4. Camera is really poor. Zooming, rotating all is very wonky to say the least.
5. Animals are so hard to spot, and the trees being in the way is just very bad. Make the trees invisible when close to camera. This has been standard in gaming since at least late '90ties.
6. Game speed changes on its own sometimes. I have it on 4, pause the game (BTW why is default for Pause ENTER-key and not SPACE-key like in 99.9% of all games?) and then unpause and I'm suddenly on 1 speed. Why? Also I'm missing +/- speed change buttons. I have to use keyboard.
7. I should always see what my character is doing (think Sims), e.g. small icon next to their portrait, or even just text would be very helpful, as it often gets stuck somewhere doing something unproductive.
8. Queuing up tasks, (again thinking Sims)
9. Game is pretty slow even on the highest speed.
10. Leveling up skills should be faster in the low levels, and slower in the higher. Seems bit unbalanced.
11. Talking to other NPCs is really clunky. Even initiating conversation is uneasy as they are often "busy". Then the convo is basically randomly choosing things to say, to get + or - relationship.
That said, I really like the idea and will for sure revisit this game should more progress be done in addressing some of these issues.
