If you dont know much about cars this game will teach you soo much about all of the basics, it will introduce all of the concepts and set up a working understanding for you to learn more complex aspects. Its fun, competitive and under priced.
Good car building game! Graphics could be better.
This game just keeps getting better and better after every update.
This simulation experience of a game really made me appreciate "econoboxes" more than ever before. Like I just recreated my first car's engine in this game trying to create a 1-to-1 recreation of it, and I have like never had such a profound understanding now of as to how robust such a small and meticulous engine it is.
And when I remade the body to try and make it all lighter so that the engine can create the power-to-weight ratio every petrol-head hints at, it made me appreciate automotive engineering even more as an artisan's craft brought to the forefront or frontiers of engineering marvels.
Man, makes me wish I was an automotive engineer or a mechanic. Nevertheless, I think I can be one if I try my hardest. Great simulative software of a game. Makes me wanna use my creations in this as a blueprint for real life builds or mods and such.
It is very fun and you can do a ton of stuff in this game

Its good but not the best. If it had better crashing physics in BeamNG it would be better. Also you can make beast engines and cars its amazing imo.
Been a long road, but the team's dedication and public feedback has made it the most in-depth simulation of running your own car company in the world.
The fact you can also export the cars you make to BeamNG Drive and drive them anywhere is pure genius and unique in gaming.
its very good, but i wish there were better options for ignition timing, to be able to set it to what you want, not just a range. Highly recommend if you like designing vehicles/engines.

After 132 hours of crafting, moulding, honing, tuning, painting etc. I've enjoyed this game a lot. Obviously the game is in early access and has its quirks but its a very fresh look at bringing engineering and creativity and a realistic environment!
I know there's regular updates and all, but there is no real reason why a game like this should still be in alpha/beta and not fully released by now. I bought this game in 2015, and God knows how long its been in early access before that. I am not saying that there isn't complexity in this game, i am not saying that at all. I am saying that the level of complexity and features this game provides does not rise to the level of development time. Its maddening. To come back and play this game after not playing for 5 years and to see that it is essentially the same as when i last played it, is jarring to say the least. It still has the same generic God awful song playing at the title menu.
Maybe its being developed by one person, and if so, Go bless them to staying with it all these years. However, you have to wonder, if it will ever be finished.
Great game. Had difficulty getting into the swing of switching between screens when building engines and then comparing the specs.
Great in depth game, pairs nicely with BeamNG.Drive, but not needed!
Very fun game have spent hours just tuning cars and trying to make the perfect engine and design. But very frustrating to have the games campaign not work for me. Randomly gives errors and bugs that ruin a car project and make me lose all progress.
I've played 30+ hours now including a 12 hour solid gaming period. I have really enjoyed my experience and personally love it. The ability export my creations to BeamNG.drive and drive them like a mad man has unlimited hours of fun.
I have one major complaint that led to a rage quit for me and will for many other players until it is fixed. The game will randomly delete completed car projects. I rage quit after my best seller / best design / most market diverse car randomly fell off the face of the earth leaving me with a major hole in my vehicle line up. Cars Exported to BeamNG.drive dont randomly delete. Food for thought.
this is a really fun and detailed game that is great for people who are into cars and i personally love it

Incredible. Always wanted a car design game to experiment with. Now I have it. It's also great that you can export to beamNG and test your creations out.

Very fun game. I often find myself wanting to play again. Automation has very detailed specs you can change and a detailed description for what each of them are and what they do. I would recomend also having beamng so you can drive the cars you make.
So good for beamng when i want to make a car and drive it, easy to learn but you do need to practice to get a good looking car, love it and would highly recommend

It's a very fun game, you can make any car you want. The only issue is that making interiors is literally impossible. I would recommend. I rate it 9 Opel Astra G Coupes out of 10
its a fun game you can also use it for beam.ng.drive to make cars but i have a problem with the interior making i dont know what to do so i usaly dont make it but its still pretty good

i can highly recommend this game to anyone who loves cars, engines and/pr design.
Automation has the added bonus of a partnership with BeamNg so you can import your creations and actually drive them, test them and crash them... as for automation i've had the game since super early access and it has come a long way.. at its core its always been a really fun game...
i'm writing this review now as i think it's at a state where it is extremely enjoyable to play, as it has me coming back to it here n there when i feel inspired to create something unique.. it has a career mode all be it a bit awkward still... but the game at its core is fantastic.. the detail and ability to shape cars and build out every detail including interiors now is great and will keep anyone entertained for hours.. the modding community is great if your someone who wants mods..

Boy oh boy where do I even begin. Lebron.. honey, my pookie bear. I have loved you ever since I first laid eyes on you. The way you drive into the paint and strike fear into your enemies eyes. Your silky smooth touch around the rim, and that gorgeous jumpshot. I would do anything for you. I wish it were possible to freeze time so I would never have to watch you retire.
You had a rough childhood, but you never gave up hope. You are even amazing off the court, you're a great husband and father, sometimes I even call you dad. I forvever dread and weep, thinking of the day you will one day retire. I would sacrifice my ownlife it were the only thing that could puta smile on your beautiful face.
You have given me so much joy, and heartbreak over the years. I remember when you first left clevenland and its like my heart got broken into a million pieces. But a tear still fell frommy right eye when I watched you win yourfirst ring in miami, because deep down,my glorious king deserved it. I just wanted you to return home. Then allas, you did, my sweet baby boy came home and I rejoiced. 2015 was a hard year for us baby, but in 2016 you made history happen. You came back from 3-1 and I couldn't believe it.
I was crying, bawling even, and I heard my glorious king exclaim these words, "CLEVELAND, THIS IS FOR YOU!" Not only have you changed the game of basketball and the world forever, but you've eternally changed my world. And now you're getting older, but still the goat, my goat. This would make a nice £10 add on to Beam ng but as a standalone game eh. i don't really see the tycoon side of it. its nice to be able to design cars here and then drive them on beam ng, but the designer is bad. not really for the exterior, that's kind of okay, but it falls apart bad trying to make interiors.
There's a lot of customisation options it's really REALLY detailed and that's a good thing, but as someone who wants to get into it without years of research and experimenting its not the most inviting. I want to love it because this is my kind of game, its just executed poorly.
a simple change to make this more inviting would be to add snap points to different items on the interior. a more user friendly widget for movement and rotation and a tutorial.
if these changes were made I would pick the game up again. Refund given.
with couple mods this game is perfect for bisnesses learning try it its worth every penny
very broad, which enables you to free your mind of creativity in the world of automotives.
On it's own, it's fine. I suck at making anything anyone would actually want to buy, BUT, when it comes to making a 1.5L I4 making over 1000 horsepower, I'm the guy.
Also, buy beamng.drive, it makes it so much better when you can actually drive your cars.
every time i go to set turbo or anything to do with turbo the app glitches, annoying and all work gone not worth it, out of date
Started campaign, earliest start date. Started to design a car. Started to design an engine. Can't continue because I need to select VVL but there's nothing to select from, not even "None".
Searched forum. Issues has existed since 2017.
Solutions seems to be starting at a later date (in that case, the earliest start date should be changed) or play on the beta branch of the game (so the devs have fixed the problem but refuse to release a hotfix?).
really fun lots of different engine designs and tuning and tinkering options available, as well as being able to import to beamng where you can easily show of your engine creations , the online community on youtube and discord is very open and extremely active
absolutely recommend to anyone who likes cars and engines
This game looks great and is incredibly fun, especially with friends making dumb cars. And the fact that these cars can be put into BeamNg.drive is even better. Campaign is incredible too, highly recommend to get if you like cars.
This is a very cool game. However, in order to make semi-realistic car models, I does take quite a long time to become decent at modeling the cars. Basically, it is not very user friendly, but after playing a while it is an extremely fun time.

- Make the engine of the car (it knocked itself out)
- Spend time making the fixtures
- Become super proud and export it to BeamNG Drive (the game is compatible with BeamNG Drive)

- Close BeamNG and make another car project

I have really enjoyed this game and have sunk many hours into it. Here is my list of of the things I have enjoyed the most and some constructive criticisms.
What I have enjoyed:
-The creation, tuning, and customization of several engine types. Engines, as they should, really define the car. I am able to build similar engines, the same architecture and HP, but the performance can be completely different
-The visual customization is great, and I have never even used mods on this game. Overall I am able to create unique models and get pretty close to what I envisioned
-Multiple simulation test tracks to bench mark my performance
-Customization of the cars chassis, suspension, interior, tires, and brakes all affect thee performance of my vehicle.
-The photo mode is great for capturing image of your cars
-The sound of the engine are unique across platforms and individual engines. They sound great.
-Continual game support and updates
What I have not utilized to the fullest:
-I do not have drive bmg, so I have not been able to physically drive my models, but you can import them into drive.
-Again, I have not used mods, but there seems to be a lot of mod support.
Things that need work or I was not a fan of:
-The campaign is really complex, which is not always a bad thing, but I found it too difficult for me personally. It has a lot of potential and this is a feature I really want to use, but for right now it does not seem to be worth my time.
-The cosmetics can become stale, but again I have sunk a lot of hours into this game.
-The cosmetics can be a bit buggy sometimes, especially when using them on angles or curves
-Sometimes larger engines with turbos will have the radiators protrude past the body. Maybe these engines shouldn't be allowed
if you like the nuts and bolts of engine building this is a great game for that. what ifs are what this game is about. I love it.
I can't in good conscience recommend this game.
It has all the great marks of a game that could be good, but progress has been slow over the years. This is another early access game that will never be released, its an unfinished product that will always remains as such and likely make good money doing so, paving the way for future half finished games.
DLC is a dirty word. DLC for an unfinished early access game is ludicrous.
If engines is your thing, then there's a free engine simulator you can download online.
great simulator which can be used as teaching aid for technical student to understand the engine component and its performance based on material selection and additional component to produce optimum horse power and torque. its can feel the gap between theory side and practicality for automotive engineering subject.
super fun to build 5,000 hp cars and then import them into beamng drive and see what the fastest car you make is.
Got the game out of spite, and 170 hours later I still have the game, and get a dopamine high from making vehicles. good thing this is a game and not an actual job because I would be more in dept than the US military could ever be. Would highly recommend.

If you like engines and cars this is most likely a good pick for you. the sounds of the engines are pretty good as well. also the option to move both your engines and car to other games is cool as well. but i would watch videos on it before buying to make sure you like
Really good if you have windows so you can export your cars to beamng but if you have a mac like me you can not export
