I am a 55 year old biker and trucker father, and probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my son many happy memories.
Thank you
A delightful little game with an appealing visual style that tells a story rooted in folklore.
Game-play is simple and 100% of achievements can be obtained in a single play through.
The whole "alien story told thru pictograph-glyphs is cool but gameplay is frustratingly slow and unintuitive.
A few weeks ago I downloaded the computer game "It's Spring again" from Baba Yaga Games for free from the internet. I liked it so much that I checked with Steam to see if the developers had developed another game. One Eyed Kutkh is about a pink alien who unfortunately has to make an emergency landing on a planet with his spaceship. The UFO breaks down and he has to go out to find the lost parts. In the following computer game, the player goes on a wondrous journey on the planet, explores labyrinths and can talk the sun and moon off a spare part. Unfortunately, this argues then within a submarine and the course of the day can no longer take place. A culture living on the planet notices this and sends a volunteer on a journey to solve the mystery. As you can see, the game is a saga and enchants the observers with beautiful drawings. The music is relaxing and the game can also be played by children. The puzzles are simple and abstract, so that even people who can't read can understand them. One Eyed Kutkh should not be missing in any game collection.
There are few games for small children (2,5+) on Steam. This is one of the exceptions. Creative, dreamy, tender and not long. Many replays possible. Kids understand everything without any words. Also easy to control with a mouse (with sensitivity settings lowered). Please, make more games like this one!!!
The game is unbelievably short, under half an hour, and most of that is due to the ridiculously slow movement and unintuitive way that actions are performed. Not worth over a dollar.
Great msuic, art and sound direction but the gameplay is basically nothing and didn't make me want to keep going.
Purposely slow-paced and genuinely beautiful, it's neither meant to be a race nor a brain-teaser. Rather, it's a calming interactive story where you take part in a myth brought to life.
This is a shot beautiful relaxing fairy tale. I want more stories from that North universe.
The game is wordless right down to the menus, which doesn't make it all that intuitive at times. In fact when I first launched the game I accidentally exited whilst I was trying to navigate the menu, which didn't auger all that well. Then when I actually managed to start the game the first 'puzzle' was one where there are multiple buttons to choose from as to what to press, but then it turned out that none of these selections had any actual impact on the outcome of the scene so trying to work out the correct answer was just a waste of time. It also took me a while to work out that all the navigation in the game is done via thought/speech bubbles and any clicking on the rest of the screen just results in cosmetic effects.
The game is pretty linear and none of the choices you make will affect your ability to make it to the end. There are no real puzzles to solve and there are a limited amount of interactions available to you at any one time (sometimes there's even only one action to choose from). That said there is a little exploration to be had along the way, but it's very easy to keep heading straight towards the end and miss things. Out of the eight total achievements possible six of them are missable and I managed to miss each and every one of those six.
'One Eyed Kutkh' is a charming enough game, but mechanically it's not exactly polished and it can suffer from slow pacing that you can't speed up or skip. I wouldn't say I regret playing it but at the same time I'm not sure how strongly I feel about recommending it to anyone. One thing to take into account is that it appears the game used to be Free-to-play but that doesn't seem to be the case any more, so any older reviews won't take into account the fact that it's no longer free.
I think there is something to enjoy here in terms of aesthetics and story, and I would rate it ambivalently, but seeing as I can only choose between making a positive review and a negative one... I think I'll go with a thumbs down on this.
Game play is just too slow. It's grueling to the point I lost interest after a short while. It's a shame because it let the whole thing down while the concept, graphics and music seemed appealing. But not enough for me to continue playing any longer. It also felt like a childrens game, but children a more impatient than me probably and so I really don't know if I could recommend it even for that. Sorry :( I regret paying for it, I truly expected more and I wish I read the reviews first but I gave it the benefit of the doubt.
