Frontier is a room-scale sandbox where you can enjoy a simple, colorful and immersive visit to the wild west! Play with guns and animals in three stylized environments in virtual reality.
Discover a world bursting with life, from adorable bunnies hopping through the wilderness, to grizzly bears stalking you in the snow. Explore deserts brimming with colour, snowy woodlands with towering pines, and see the dawn of modern civilization in the bison inhabited great plains.
You can hunt a wide range of critters, but the wilderness also holds larger animals like deer, bison and grizzly bears!
The sky is also dense with hawks, snowy owls and bursts of tiny birds.
Every animal on the frontier has fully interactable (and sometimes even pickup-able) rag dolls, which thanks to the amazing quality of the HTC Vive, feel incredibly real. We recommend trying out the night time lighting, as the warm glow of your camp sites lamp mixed with truly dark nights leads to some of the most immersive virtual reality we have experienced to date!
Progress through the game, discovering new areas and guns as you hunt and explore, or experience the completed scenes immediately. It's your choice how you experience the world of Frontier.
Pulling off impressive aim and speed will reward you with a range of guns inspired by those of the wild west.
Looking for a simple set of classic revolvers? maybe some sawn-off shotguns? or even a sniper rifle?
Well you can shoot cute little bunnies with all of them!
Frontier is room-scale, and is based around locomotion-free interactive scenes.
Shooting wooden signs will take you between scenes, and you can always go to an interactive menu by shooting any "Red Rocks" sign post.
Some notable things you will find on the menu are:
Input: you can choose between a very simple 1-button input (recommended for people new to VR) or a 2-button input, which makes use of the grip buttons.
Random: pop into a random scenario, with some special animal encounters.
Reset and Continue: when you first launch the game, you will be able to play through the games progression. If you go back to the main menu and continue, you can resume progression. If you instead shoot a destination sign, you can play that scene with all the guns unlocked!
Cheats: if you really want to, you can shoot the bucket on the menu and enable some debug cheats. when using debug, press your Vive's menu button to teleport yourself around (helpful for setting a custom seated position).
Have you ever experienced a massive steam train rocket past in the dead of night?
Regardless of whether you are brand new to virtual reality, or a real enthusiast, there's is a lot of fun to be had in the wild west.
You can even pop your grandmother straight in, as Frontier uses incredibly simple one button input (or include the grip buttons, if you prefer) and contains absolutely no locomotion that could cause discomfort.
No matter what you are looking for in a VR game, Frontier will give you something to love!

not much here, but what is here is pretty amazing.
Almost not even a toy, let alone a game, and this came to Steam back in 2017... no updates. The lighting, something the dev tries to sell you on, is terrible with no light sources!

Game description key-points: 4 different 360 spots in nature, sort of a Demo - preview. Several different guns to interact with and observe some physics, ... yeah wish for ...
Overview: 5 minutes is enough to realise full potential of this game. Isn`t worth spending time even for free.
Frontier VR is an instant drop into immersion-town. It has that hyper-performant stylized Blocks type aesethic, and runs at a million frames per second. It has excellent soundscapes, flora and fauna. Physics interactions are good, and it has guns and you can shoot the wild life, eh? The weather effects are also very effective. This is one of the vr apps you just sit down in and soak up. Feels like a demo. There's not much to do. I like the graphics. The ability to move around, maybe some simple puzzles, or be able to cook the animals you kill. It just needs MORE.
Frontier VR is a cute little game where you get the oppertunity to shoot a few different guns... One is a rifle with a scope (which I actually enjoyed using). There are a few little puzzles in the game that trigger things to happen which makes things a little more interesting.
The art style is similar to Guagepunk's other game Rolling Line. It very simple but extremely pleasing to look atas its not too in your face but also not extremely detailed. It also makes the rabbits look super cute.
Overall I'd give this game a 7/10. If you want a fun game that you can just jump into to shoot things for a bit then this is the game for you. If you're looking for a story game or a free roam game this game is not for you.
It is an amazing experience with fun ragdolls!
Nothing special at first, but then i started cranking supersampling up, and i could go up to 5.0 times supersampling, resulting the game looking absolutely amazing!
Definetly one of the games i show my friends who are first time trying VR
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
This game asks the age old question, if you were alone in the forest and a baby bunny comes up to you, do you pet it or do you blow its head off with a sawed off shotgun? The answer depends on whether you are a psychopath or not. I will admit that I did blow off the baby bunny's head off with a sawed off-shotgun. I didn't want to. But I had the shotgun in my hand and the little cute guy was just hopping merrily towards me. Sometimes you want to see the world burn and sometimes you do stuff for review purposes (I promise it was the latter!).
I didn't really want to buy this game but I thought I have seen this game on sale so many times. It looks bad. It doesn't show Oculus Rift compatibility. I should buy it to test it out so I can report the news to my fellow Rifters. And it's only $2 and it may not be so bad. So, Yes my fellow Rifters, the game does work perfectly as intended. And now because of you guys I have to go to counseling! See below!
You have 3 environments (desert, winter forest, and plains) with day and night cycles or 4 if you count the main menu where you can also shoot cute baby animals. You can select from a variety of weapons including scoped rifle or no scope, shotguns, and pistols. I'm really sad though that there were no rocket launchers or flamethrowers or dynamite. Who goes hunting baby animals without dynamite? I mean if you're going to hunt baby animals it seems you need dynamite. You can also shoot the sun or the moon. You can also shoot yourself to go to the main menu.
Rate 4/10. Game should really be called Future Spree Killer Simulator.

Looked like a fairly simple shoot stuf game. I'm not big on shooting, so I would give it a pass
I can't recommend this game in it's current state. It doesnt have enough to do yet. I see a lot of potential as the enviroments are nice and the art style is really good. However I wish that there was more depth to the game, I think adding locomotion and expanding the environments would be a good Idea because at their current size you cant really "explore" like the description states. Also keep in mind however that it isn't much to spend if you're looking for a place to meditate, also the devs have been very active on the updates which is a good plus. I believe if they expand the environments, add some sort of story elements, and give the game more depth in general that it could become a pretty good game.
Really enjoyed, atmospheric and in my favourite list apps. Recommend
It's three environments with tons of animals spawning which you can shoot I guess. Extremely boring, not too much detail in the environments, all around not more than a techdemo at best. This is the sorta thing people previously released after they tried out new technology, not sold as a game...
