This is a short Walking Sim with a total of 4 puzzles/challenges. It should take you 2 to 3 hours to finish the game, depending on how agile you are. Climbing up the tower took me a little while because I kept falling off of the platforms which randomly appear & disappear.
You start out in a nice area, surrounded by giant rocks. Turns out, you're on a floating island. You have to collect 5 colored stones to place on a pedestal. There are 2 kinds of stones. The first ones are totally white, & these increase your movement speed. The second ones are the colored stones that go on the pedestal.
Finding the stones is like an easter egg hunt. (They're behind rocks, under bushes, at the base of trees, etc.). When you pick one up, it automatically places itself into a pedestal which is located somewhere in the area you're in. Once you find all 5 colored stones, go to the pedestal & "activate" them. This now allows you to move to the 2nd area.
In the 2nd area, you'll hop across floating platforms to get to 3 magic doorways. Through each doorway is a unique area. Once inside a unique area, you'll have to solve a puzzle or complete a challenge to collect a dream stone & get out of that area. The dream stones are big yellow hunks of rock. In each of the unique areas, you will again also have to collect 5 colored stones to be placed on a pedestal.
You will find 1 dream stone in each area, as well as several blue fountains scattered about. The blue fountains serve as checkpoints. You can save the game at these fountains, but you can not load games. When you die, you start back where you last saved. When you quit the game & return later, you start back at the beginning of that area.
After you collect the dream stone & leave one of the 3 unique areas, you'll find yourself back in the 2nd area, where you now pick another magic doorway to go through. You must go through all 3 magic doorways & collect all 3 dream stones to beat the game. You do not have to go through the doors in any specific order.
When you collect the 3rd dream stone, the game doesn't end, however. It puts you back at the very beginning of the game to start over. Just hit the "Escape" key to leave the game. Once you beat the game, there's no replayability. For me though, spending 50 cents for a couple hours of entertainment was worth the money. Graphics are below average.
The puzzle game lacks any form of assistance or guidance, requiring players to independently determine the next steps. Initially resembling an "egg hunt" game, it gradually transforms into a challenging puzzle experience. Dream Stone, a first-person puzzle game, presented some optimization issues during my one-hour playthrough. Despite this, the game remained enjoyable and featured a variety of tricky and entertaining puzzles. While the graphics may strain the eyes slightly, they are acceptable considering the game's low price point. I recommend this game for its value, although it may not meet the expectations of those seeking AAA quality at such a cost. One notable absence is the lack of a mouse sensitivity option.
