i agree with the people who say they should've just added a bomb-defusal mode to the original cobalt, though this is good as well, i guess
In concept, CSGO but 2D (bomb defusal, buying weapons). Fast paced and action packed fun and craziness. Would recommend now its 3
it's a good one. it seemed a lot different from the original at first, and the controls were a little wack coming right out of Cobalt, but once you pick it up it's a fun, fast paced spectacle shooter. a dead playerbase, but the bots are fun and now that it's F2P it might gravitate a new audience. 10/10 would use sniper recoil to launch myself on the point to use a stick of dynamite to blast jump into the enemy base leading to a sword and pistol multikill again.
rather fun csgo mimic with new and old cobalt mechanics. even though it's a rather obvious mimic it still adds enough variety that i prefer this to csgo
Play this game for the warmup.
This may seem facetious, but it really doesn't fulfill its job as a counter strike clone; the real fun to be had is with generous (but not overly so) supplies of cash and an infinite amount of time to fight over the battlefield. The game flows and reacts to your actions in ways that are somewhat hypnotic and deeply satisfying. Stock up on molotovs to stop a push, pick up a missile launcher to take care of a pesky bot, or strap on a semiautomatic and a belt full of flashes to push the advantage. Each life has a distinct job, and that sense of purpose makes the game engaging. The bots aren't half bad, either, so you don't even have to have friends to play it!
Really fun game, but failed to take off because of the extreme lack of marketing. According to Steam Charts, there are literally 0 players online right now and the all-time peak was 57 players. Fortunately, the bots are great and smart. The game is essentially CS:GO but in 2D.
Cobalt WASD is a high octane 2D shooter that just makes me happy. You can use tons of items to move around the stage quicker, and shooting things is super satisfying. The game isn't that active, which is a shame, but you can join the discord server, which is active, and find people to play with. It is basically a bomb defusal gamemode for cobalt, but with(arguably) better controls, and bigger maps, with tons of really cool guns, bombs, explosions,and grappling hooks. I really want this game's servers to pick up, but as of now, it is still really fun, and well worth the money.
This game is pretty funny but everytime ive been on in the last month there isnt a single server with players on it.
If I had to describe the game in just a few words, it would be "Fast paced, 2D, Really freakin' cool CS:GO". I haven't played the original Cobalt yet, so I can't say how this holds up as a second game but as a standalone game it is very good. The community on Discord is super cool and always willing to play a game with you. Whenever you get a double/triple/team kill it is super satisfying. You can just run around the map and swing like spiderman and shoot people with unique weapons. I wish there were a bit more of the time slowing mechanic, becuase that seems to be a big seller for the game, however, I barely ever see it used in game besides the occasional time bomb. Another issue is that games never really start, but this can be easily fixed by joining the Discord server and just asking people to play with you. If I were you I would buy it, the game is pretty cheap and super satisfying and fun to play.
While this game at first amazed me. i see there are some problems but dont worry these could all easily be fixed. the first is the online, for me it just doesnt work and as this is the main part of the game it is frustrating that i cant use it. This may be due to a lack of players but vs ai is still fun. Overall the game is beutifully made and while it has a steep learning curve, when you get into it and learn how to play its great.
But here is a message to the creators, you need to advertise this game, i truly believe it could blow up but there are no ads out there, this games will only do well if you advertise it. just get some 20 seconds skippable ads on youtube it would help so much. Please get this game out there its never gonna take off without a little help, i can see this having a fanbase in the gaming community similar to that of a game like rainbow six siege or rocket league (maybe a bit smaller though).
Really good and well balanced 2d shooter with plenty of equipment to choose from (shields with advanced tech, special abilities like grapling hook or jetpack + secondary, primary, throwable and melee weapons)
Only one game mode and no rolling possible. Gamemode itself is well polished bots substitude lack of human players and do their thing pretty well, if you die - u can take control of alive bot. Rolling would put this game out of balance and global time-slowing would be needed to fix this. If i am right, this game uses local to some area time-slowing, that doesnt provide any advantage to players outside of it. Main difference from original cobalt are maps, that are bigger without need to show all players at once. A lot of ways to deal with enemies in your unique style. Add some gamemodes to this and you will have best 2d shooter on the market.
I got exited for this... it sucks, if you want the gamemode, get CS:GO, if you want the gameplay, get Cobalt.
It's like CS;GO but it's 2D and you can bend time. Also, there are significantly less Russians.
It's a fun and fast game! Only downside is that if try to change controls my game crashes.
A 2D shooter with precise control, a good old game mode and the right weapons and support items.

This game takes a lot of the elements of the original Cobalt game and makes it more accessible to casual players. It has often been compare to CSGO, but I feel like this game has an advantage in some areas. For instance:
-One can ride a mech with a railgun in its mouth
-have a nice shield
-throw a canister of liquid nitrogen right into someone's face
-can be like Spider-Man with a grappling hook (and kill/stun people whilst swinging)
-use a time gun to teleport behind someone and kill them with a sword
-use a jetpack with unlimited fuel
-throw jars of pure radiation
-create a room full of healing sentries
-slide backwards down a hill shooting a machine gun
-and much more...
Cobalt WASD is worth your money if you are looking for a fast-paced, diverse, and downright cool 2D shooter.
Great game! Very satisfying when you pull off awesome stunts and clutches.
If you like FPS-games and/or like playing competitive this is a good alternative, (and is not an expensive one either).
Although if you are looking for a point and shoot game where there isn't much of a challange, you are looking at the wrong game buddy.
I say buy the game, (becouse you are obviously interested in it if you are already reading this, and what can go wrong?) especially with the new controls made for keyboard and mouse which are great!
It is newly launched (still in beta though) and with a strong community this game will become a true masterpiece.
If you like 2d shooters like soldat or cs2d then this is a great game for you.
fast combat, lots of weapons, a bunch of different combos to run, for 7 dollars this game is a steal.

Cobalt WASD is really great so far. It's very pretty, and it plays very very well. Some of the abilities may read as OP in the game description ETC, but it really is a fair game, everything has a fair good feeling counter. And the rounds are fast enough that its not super punishing to die in a round. This was a major issue with me in CSGO and I really like how they approached that issue here.
This is the kind of game you would play if you want to play CS:GO but you don't want to play Competitive and risk your whole mood for the day. Or maybe you're just feeling like you don't have enough energy for CS:GO or to dedicate a whole hour to a comp game but you still want to play a CT vs T type game.
The developers are great and competent and actually listen, and are very open in the Discord for the game.
The maps are great and have different layouts and playstyles. You can bum rush by using tunnels underneath or side paths, or you can build tanky and just push through the middle, eating damage and claiming your territory.
Another great part of this game is how they dealt with the overload of information in games like CSGO. You can do very interesting plays, while the game still remaining simple. The interesting plays rely on you as a player more than your weapons or suit (though they can definitely help.)
The sound effects and atmosphere of the game are really good. Really makes it fun!
Tl;DR: Super worth $7. A steal, really, especially with workshop support.
