WHAT??? 80 DOLLARS FOR THIS??? GET A GRIP, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING...WHY ARE THE CALL OF DUTY GAMES STILL SOLD??? LIKE SERIOUSLY? disgusting company...if i could shut ya'll down I WOULD. Took many good games and put your dirty fat arse on them, activision, treyarch, thry all need to go. I've never felt so horribly used by a company. I'll never forgive the people in charge of call of duty...scum. not even cool at this point
I remember playing this game on the Xbox 360, spent countless hours playing multiplayer and the campaign, bought this game on steam a while ago to keep it as a memory. The multiplayer is unsafe to play without third party programs. Despite this, I love this game and I think this is where the CoD franchise reached it's absolute peak. I've been wanting to write a review on this the day I got it but i kinda forgot. With this aside, if you're looking for some nostalgia avoid vanilla multiplayer at all costs and buy this when it's on sale, you'll save a lot because Activision still thinks it's reasonable to sell this game at full retail price after more than 10 years since it launched. (Well would you look at that it's also currently 2025 as of writing this). I'm looking forward to obtain all of the achievements on the campaign on this platform. (Multiplayer is impossible to 100% without mod menus because of those league achievements lol)
Easily one of the best CODs, both campaign and multiplayer wise hands down. However this is killed by the fact that the game is still 60 dollars (mind you this came out in 2012 and the multiplayer is basically unplayable due to hackers without using third party servers) and still has full price DLC.
If you still want to play this I reccomend getting it on sale or via key as sixty dollars for a game now over a decade old is ridiculous.
Played this as a kid and recently got this for my girlfriend best purchase every since shes so bad at Cod it was funny watching her struggle on recruit
esta versao para pc nao tem como jogar dois ou mais jogadores na mesma tela , somente online com outros jogadores , joguei muito na infancia concerteza marcou a minha geracao
You cant hate this game and if you do then you were born after like 2012 and even then surely you played it at 1yrs old like a true COD fan
there just isn't enough players anymore. plus when i find a lobby, there's always a hacker. shame. hope they remaster this someday, but knowing activision, they probably wont. so yeah, this game is not it on steam.
ive only played the campaign, but i love it. the gunplay is amazing, and the graphics are surprisingly good. 9/10 definitely recommend.
I enjoyed Black Ops II for its engaging story and intense action sequences, but the technical issues ruined the experience for me. Audio constantly desynced, screen tearing was nonstop, and the mouse input would glitch out, making horizontal movement impossible at times. I had to switch to a controller just to pass certain sections. While the story was solid, I can't recommend the game due to these frustrating issues.
Good graphics and game play. Action packed.
Very good campaign i liked it a lot please make better games and not ruin your reputation
Everything about this game is amazing, i was creaming my pants the entire time while playing the campaign. If you want a never ending stream of jizz running down your leg, play this game if you haven't already.
BO2 has an absolutely stellar campaign, never thought this would top BO1 but it has for me. Menendez is tied with Makarov for CoD's best antagonist, there's this neat contrast with past and present/future missions, even more fan favorite characters than the last game, it's honestly fantastic. Even your decisions affect the narrative and outcome of the story, which may warrant a second play-through from me.
Zombies though, eh. I've heard negative things about Tranzit and I think I feel the same way, and I'm not interested in buying DLC maps as of right now. I'll stick with BO1 on that front, thank you.
campaign is fun and multiplayer is fun but it's also hard and thats good for challenges
Absolutely one of my favorite games, by the way it works perfectly on the steam deck, just change the screen size and it works out of the box so yeah it's great
good game, the multiplayer is fun but you should definitely use plutonium to play, the campaign is pretty good but not as good as bo1 and the zombies is pretty good too but it is way overpriced so you should not buy without sale
Game is fun and all, as long if you play it on Plutonium. (servers are dying slowly)
Please download Plutonium before playing this, playing the vanilla version of this game without being in Steam Offline mode. + This game's server is hacked, and people can rce or rat your computer.
This game is a fantastic cod game, one of the best campaigns, great Multiplayer and zombies. However I don't know where the actual fuck Activision gets off raising the price to $90 CAD ($70 USD) 12 years after release while simultaneously not providing anything new. Sheer greed. Do not buy this game unless its on sale
There is nothing to do outside of a basic survival do i recommend spending 60 dollars on a watered down version of black ops 3 no if you wanna just get into the feel of bo2 then its exactly the same.
This is the First ever COD i've played and lemme tell you something.
The fact that you have to install a client made by the community to play multiplayer cause Activision doesn't care about the old COD's is actually crazy to think about.
Looking at the prices and the PC requirements, what you get for it is not as good as you could expect in 2025. I was expecting some good content cause a lot of people in my class kept saying that it's really good but in fact looking at the graphics, the security problems and a lot more.
This is not worth 60€, not even 20€ and if you look on SteamDB's website you can see that the lowest recorded price was at 17,49€ in 2014, so don't ever expect Activision or the devs (idk at this point) to make their historical price lower than 17,49€ for old COD games such as BO2 and 3.
Don't waste your money unless you're rich.
behind the rose tinted glasses and fond memories the game legit holds up a decade later. interactive and immersive story, innovative and dynamic story elements, plenty of challenges, achievements, easter eggs and secrets to keep it fresh. truly the last of the golden age of the franchise.
Still fun to play in 2025. It runs great. But there is periodically a launch issue where it simply doesn't launch. You just have to reinstall the game to fix it.
From what I've heard, multiplayer is overrun with hackers, so it's really only good for the campaign. What does the campaign have? Strike force missions. I don't care how good the rest of the game is.
If your looking for a great game this is where its at, its very reliable, multiplayer may be a bit shabby though.
Some I.E.D missions are important, tutorials are lifesavers.
Played this around the time of release and I've gotta say its never let me down.
Very well made, not a huge cash grab like modern CoD's, I would say it is very good for it's time and it gets the well deserved respect for that reason, it has an amazing story line and the multiplayer experience is a bit iffy, i have not played to much but i would not recommend online multiplayer if you are new. But overall, i would recommend for so many reasons, it has created so many memories among all of us players.
Banger Campaign. Don't bother with multiplayer, it's deserted and unsafe. Plutonium isn't as good an option as it would seem.
Fire game that definitely doesn't have any major security vulnerabilities or anything.
One of the best campaigns in the series, just fire all the way through. The story telling in old COD games is a sight to behold.
In this game you get a call to do a duty, but this time there is a black ops for the second time
multiplayer is dead and i got the base game for 19 dollars wich is still too much
i killed a lot of people in this game lol while running a 4060 gpu with a core I9 cpu, also with a 240hz monitor cuz why not
1000/10
It is criminal that this game is still $60, and also the muliplayer is plagued with constant disconnections these days.
Campaign is awesome, multiplayer is fun & the zombies is a real blast from the past.
Pagar por un bug waos
Fair warning **DO NOT** go on multiplayer without plutonium. vanilla bo2 has been taken over by hackers and they can mess up your pc. if you want to play bo2 multi or zombies get plutonium t6. otherwise, you have an exceedingly high chance of getting a virus on your pc. The game is still peak with plutonium tho. hope a remake or smth comes out soon, I miss bo2.
Other than the rampant hackers on vanilla servers, the game still holds up and it is fun as BALLS. I haven't played search and destroy in years, and trying it again today has resulted in nothing but flagrant happiness.
love you, black ops 2. i will never forget
This game is pretty great, if you want to play online modes such as multiplayer and zombies I'd recommend installing the plutonium client (which is why i have no hours on this game)
Also only get it when it's on deal.
Childhood Game i played with my cousins on 4-splitscreen co-op zombies (TranZit) i played it every time they come over for the holidays and pull out their XBOX 360. i never knew how to play zombies at the time and throughout playing it more and more, i realized what perks were (yes i was that stupid but come on, i was a kid.. xd) i knew how to use them, i knew how to beat zombie maps, i knew about the easter egg songs and other shenanigans and whatnot. i'd give it a try again but the classical nostalgic way....The 360 Era..
while i do not agree with the price being what it is to this day. if this game is on sale, definitely give it a shot (mainly for the campaign). the campaign at most is the only reason i play these older cods to this day but i mainly find myself coming back to play this one from time to time, almost like a tradition lol. very interesting and chaotic campaign, thats basically all i recommend it for.
This review will be separated into 3 sections about each gamemode. Hours are not accurate since they don't include my console time. Don't ask me why I'm reviewing this in 2025.
Campaign
Easily the most replayable campaign in Call of Duty history, with story elements that change from your actions, a good story with lovable characters continuing from Black Ops, and customisable loadouts, it provides a solid casual single player experience. Difficulty isn't ridiculous even on veteran and is very easy to grasp for newcomers.
Multiplayer
Surprisingly a lot more active than I expected it to be. Given you're probably gonna need to search at weird hours and play on high ping depending on your region but you can definitely still find games of tdm. Wouldn't recommend getting this game solely for the multiplayer though unless you really feel like a nostalgia trip or happen to live in the US/UK
Zombies
Black Ops 2 offers some decent zombies maps if you are willing to fork out more money for the dlcs. The only on-disk map is the infamous Green Run, starring TranZit, Town, Bus Depot and Farm survival. While these can be fun every once in a while with friends or just a casual game, they don't have much replayability and feature many tedious mechanics. The dlcs are a definite improvement but still have their flaws. Do not buy this game if this is your first zombies experience, Black ops 1 and 4 offer a better time for both casual and seasoned players, and I only recommend it if you want a complete zombies experience or are looking for more content.
I played this in late 2012 to 2014 on PS3 with over 700 hours (Campaign - Zombies - Multiplayer), I fully nostalgic and have many flashbacks in Raid, Nuketown 2025, Slums, Town, Tranzit, and more...
The sad thing now about this game is that it's no longer based on the future .
A classic for sure. make sure to turn your graphics in game up though.
friggen goated, friggen loved this one so friggen much makes my heart all butterflie
Dear Treyarch, you and your nasty patty company, have brought me nothing but grief and emotional trauma! WHy you choose to sell your 40 year old grandpa game for 60 Gigadollars. Get the hizeck outta here yo! Issa good campaign tho, u remember raul menedez, goshdarn.
Please bro ||(This is a joke)||
1000/100.. nothin but pure nostalgia when it comes to BO series
It was good for a while until I started to play again the first match was fine until the second one starts I get booted for so called Timed out when I was actively moving then after a few more of those I got a steam server failure message so I hoped off went to CS:GO and started to rubber band for no reason in several different lobby's rendering me useless even though my whole team was fine and I had good connection. I assumed I got hacked and uninstalled bo2 but I'm still rubber banding. Why hack peoples accounts to steal card info and mess up others account what what perverted feeling's do they get from this. Whats next steal my account that will not be bought because the people in their crappy third world country can't afford video games. so if I was hack good for them they got two dollars off my account and removed a real player of of bo2.
Its been 13 years and its still #1

This game is still amazing. Although the game is a massive security risk. Hackers have breached the servers and can execute code on your computer.
If you're just playing the campaign boot the game whilst Steam is in offline mode. If you want to play Multiplayer and Zombies without cheaters, your best bet is to use the Plutonium client.
Play this classic safely now!
If you can find this on deep discount its cool. Classic single player with awesome battles and set pieces. The story flashes between the past and future! Very cool!.....Multiplayer is dead and hackers will use it to take over your PC. SINGLE PLAYER ONLY!
The best COD of all time in my opinion. This game was a huge portion of my childhood besides YouTube but I mainly watched Vannos and the crew so I guess it was still the game lol.
Игры похожие на Call of Duty®: Black Ops II
