A phenomenal campaign. Definitely Call of Duty's best (that i've played so far).
just wanted to archive my refund request here
1. this game literally takes place 3 months from now (upon release, that was THIRTEEN YEARS into the future) and it still costs 60 dollars
2. the game isnt fun
3. cod wwii campaign is miles better
4. the multiplayer is riddled with dangerous bugs, and the one project that attempted to remedy this in the SLIGHTEST was shot down not 1 year ago.
5. a game developed by 2 people (ultrakill) is somehow more fun and action packed than a classic game made by treyarch studios funded by activision.
6. id rather eat sand than pay 60 dollars for useless oldhead memorabilia on my account
thank you for reading
Flogging this game for £40 with it...:
- Being a sad excuse for a PC port
- Being 13 years old later this year
- Now no longer being in the future
- Freezing my entire computer up on multiple occasions including on the last section of the last mission of the fucking campaign
- Multiple game breaking glitches like mouse sensitivity issues rendering segments like the jet part near the end and various other segments like the Valkyrie rocket on mission 1, wingsuit sections and driving sections
- Multiplayer being filled with cheaters and hackers
- The only zombies maps available without DLC being Transhit, Bus Depot, Farm and the only decent one out of the lot, Town.
- Flogging the complete edition of the game for close to £70
...is unacceptable.
If you have an Xbox or Playstation or whatever, get Black Ops 2 from your local game store for what I've commonly seen is under £12. Don't let Treyarch mug you off with the prices here on Steam.
this game is so fucking good, not on pc tho its unbeatable on pc, get to cordis die jet part and youll understand
Do not buy game does not even start really disappointing I hope they fix it Still a amazing game though
1. it didnt even launch when i first installed it, and i would rather emulate it of off the internet. 2. this game came out 13 years ago, and yet the price is still $60. and finally for the cherry on top of this shit cake that is an activision product is that its now 2025 and black ops 2 didnt even predict the future. although it sounds like ive just said that black ops 2 is the worst game to ever be released, there are still some positives and that being that the campaign, zombies, and multiplayer are great, i would still recommend playing this game, and i think that the downfall of this game is due to the lack of maintenance from activision
It's officially 2025, there is literally no better time to play this game than right now. Highly recommend, one of the best Call of Duty games, and the last one from the Golden Era (2007 - 2012).
an amazing campaign, with great story and action, but i wish it was longer.
Another bad PC port by Treyarch. On top of being one of the six-ish games that are still vulnerable to remote code execution by bad actors, it also runs badly. Be it the campaign with lots of stuff going on or just Nuketown zombies, the game is constantly hitching, every couple of seconds, sometimes multiple times within a second.
The game's graphics options are outdated, with 90 (actually 106) FOV being the max and LODs popping in all over the place, and there being no way to adjust them. Ambient occlusion or whatever also messes with anti-aliasing and smoke. So whenever there's an object in front of smoke or other similar effects there's a visible, ugly outline to it.
The cherry on top is that it took almost half an hour to get the three different game exes running, as the "updating executable" bug refused to let me launch any of the modes, even after verifying the files multiple times. After enough trying it eventually worked, but it's still somewhat glitchy right now and I had to restart my PC. This seems to not be exclusive to this game, as I've seen post son the general Steam discussions that this is happening for other games like AvP and etc. as well. So it's a Steam issue apparently.
Either way, I wholeheartedly enjoyed this back in the day on XB360, but coming back to it on PC years later I'd say just pass on this game. Regular MP isn't safe to play, the P word launcher although safe has an annoying watermark and the devs behind it are stubborn regarding any feedback that people bring up, and just for solo play in ZM/MP or the campaign the asking price isn't worth it.
Maybe it'll run fine on your system, with overkill DDR5 RAM and such, but even then I don't think it's worth it to go back to. If you want zombies just get BO3 for $20 on sale. While BO3 has performance issues at well (this time due to Steam/Treyarch blaming each other), you can alleviate it via a community patch that fixes the stuttering in menus.
BO3 still isn't perfect performance-wise, it's always been a coin flip too if you bother to read the discussion threads regarding performance, but it's definitely better than this game overall, in both content and performance. For the most part BO3 runs better than this game, and it has a workshop.
Specs for anyone who want to shame and blame my PC not being good enough for a game built on 2005 7th gen console hardware:
Xeon 1230 v3 (roughly an i7 4770)
4x8GB DDR3
1060 6GB
OS on SATA SSD / Game on separate SATA SSD
Last thing I have to say is that other titles like SHG's WW2 run fine. CoD: WW2 was made for 8th gen hardware, yet it runs essentially flawlessly. This game is just a bad PC port, just like BO1.
Broken, won't launch. Just says "Updating Executeable". Works fine on my Surface Book 2, but refuses to launch on my desktop. Incompetent devs.

SV_SteamAuthClient in various Activision Infinity Ward Call of Duty games before 2015-08-11 is missing a size check when reading authBlob data into a buffer, which allows one to execute code on the remote target machine when sending a steam authentication request. This affects Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops 1, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
This story should have just ended RIGHT HERE and now we got alot of bull shite years later.
got this on sale in 2022 for PHP 600, had great times while playing notably while on call with a love interest back then. 10/10 poor losers in 2024 has this on sale so expensively outrageous PHP 1012
Goated COD. Peak. At its finest. Has never been the same. Just don't touch the multiplayer. That shit is dangerous.
Amazing COD game, beat the campaign twice already and it still was just as good, I would get it on a steam sale for like $20.
Standard CoD fare. New stuff and Strike Force is an interesting take on this series. Otherwise, point and shoot and don't get enraged.
its from 2014 so woke far left silliness is at a minimum (mostly confined to cut scenes) story a bit unbelievable but hey, it's a video game and at least there aren't black guys leading ww2 special ops precursor groups or female muslim women ordering muslim men around leading an arab resistance force, so it could be worse. all in all one of my favorites as far as cod goes, for whatever that's worth. one of the few still worth the buy and play , but only on special, no way i'd pay full price for it.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" is seen as a landmark entry in the series, blending a compelling campaign, innovative multiplayer, and an engaging zombie mode. The game's futuristic setting and dynamic storytelling make it stand out, with players praising its immersive and complex narrative. The multiplayer mode is widely regarded as one of the series' best, offering a wealth of customization options, varied maps, and balanced gameplay. The zombie mode, while not without its critics, remains a fan favorite, providing hours of cooperative fun. Overall, "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" stands out as a high point in the franchise.
This video game Might if not is the best Call of Duty on the Market. Lets say you wanna play a black ops game. 4 is shit, 3 is good by zombie standards, and 1 is great. But the best one, looking at all angles, is Black ops 2. This game has a Campaign so great it'll make you shit yourself from excitement. The multiplayer is more nostalgia then amazing, but that doesnt mean its NOT amazing. And how could i forget the zombies? Tranzit is bad at best, die rise is over-Hated as shit, Mob of the dead is the best map in that game, Buried is a fun map to wind down to, Nuketown is meh, and origins is great. PLAY THIS GAME. YOU WILL NOT REGRET BUYING THIS.
Good game to get for 20 for multiplayer & Campaign but if you're going for dollars its best to buy the deluxe for 40 unless you don't care about tranzit
One other note. Be careful when playing online.
It doesn't even launch and they're still charging full price for a 12 year old game? Activision can fuck itself.
WARNING:
The steam version is exposed to an RCE (Remote Code Execution) Which allows attackers to execute commands on ur device without you ever knowing. Full of cheaters & hackers
If ur gonna play this, atleast get plutonium to be on the safe side

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the perfect blend of gripping storytelling, player choice, and thrilling action, making it my favorite COD game of all time. The campaign’s dual-timeline narrative — spanning the Cold War of the 1980s and a near-future conflict in 2025 — offers variety and depth, while Raul Menendez stands out as a complex and unforgettable villain. What truly sets Black Ops II apart is its branching story, where player choices lead to multiple endings, making each playthrough feel personal and impactful. It's a shame Activision and Treyarch will never forge a better COD than BO2.
Great innovative story mode with 2 separate timelines...lots of new weapons and gadgets. I loved playing this one.
Me kill zombies, semtex sticks to zombie, zombies a runner. Zombie runs at me cornering me, zombie gets me red, kill the zombie. Semtex kills me. Good game, moral of the story dont get semtex's.
In 2 weeks this game won't even be classified as "Futuristic" anymore, yet the price is still $60.
best cod campaign although on the 3rd mission theres a stupid softlock bug that kind of a 50?50 on whether it works or you have to restart the first 10-15 min of that mission
hardly a complaint but the inability to sloppy kiss frank woods devastates this community in secrecy do better
Multiplayer and Zombies are filled with Malware
This game is a perfect depiction of Call of Duty, the multiplayer, the campaign and the zombie mode is insanely good. My mom showed me Call of Duty growing up, and I loved it ever since then.
amazing story with pretty good gameplay
good game and fun to play, the campain was very good
One of the best games I have played and nostalgia might be hitting me like a truck ,but I think you should play this game. Just make sure it is on sale though.
12 years later, Activision still prices this mid, recycled game for full price. Not even worth %50 off
2nd greatest COD behind MW2, Menendez is the best villain in the series, the characters are awesome, the action is absolutely absurd, the setting is amazing, and this is all just about the campaign. The multiplayer is COD BO2 so it needs no explanation, and zombies is the only thing that holds it back- Tranzit SUCKS
blast to the past. cant wrap my head around the prices for these older games on steam. good thing im in the civil court represented by mason llp for steams outrages prices.. still worth the $60
I do not know anything about multiplayer and I do not even want to know but story is beyond horrible. All this fictitious modern warfare nonsense gave me a major headache. I am going to skip all the Black Ops and stick with the Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare.
It's one of the last better COD campaigns I've seen personally. The campaign itself imo is the best one I have ever played, and I highly recommend it.
Don't play the fucking game, it's so fucking bad, constantly racist and rude people playing then game and non the less the servers, don't even get me on the servers, the servers fucking suck. You either get kicked after one kill or you get kicked the moment you join a match and you have to sit queued up for 30 minutes before a game, don't fucking bother playing it, the game is dying down, it's not 2015 anymore. don't waste 60 dollars on this game, if you do, at least do it for only zombies, fuck multiplayer.
GOATED zombies multiplayer and campaign
Black Ops 2 is the epitome of the golden era of Call of Duty; probably the best CoD ever made. Unfortunately, they are still charging full price ($60) for this game from 2012. The multiplayer is full of security vulnerabilities and hackers. Even though the game is great, the price is completely ridiculous and as such you should only get the game on a sale. If you want to play multiplayer I highly recommend using the Plutonium modded launcher which fixes the security issues and has an anticheat.
Good campaign, Strong Multiplayer at the time of release and a good zombies, one of the best Call of Duty games ever released.
This game will always have a special spot in my heart. I've loved the campaign since I played it for the first time in 2012 on the PS3. 12 years later i still come back and play the campaign over from time to time. I cant tell you if its the nastalgia, the story, or the characters that keep me coming back, but at least once a year i go through and play it through one more time. I dont think ill ever get sick of this or the first game for as long as ill live. It truely is PEAK Call of Duty, and no one can ever change my mind. 10/10 would recommend.
I know this game isn't gonna get updated, but it would be cool if y'all merged the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies into one game, made all the DLCs free and add a basic anti cheat
me played it today got all the achievements feeling happy but, want to die right now because of the Veteran achievements and also i beat it
Going back to play the og cods is so fun. Bo2 has to be one of my favorites. TOP TIER GAME!!
Black Ops II was the first call of duty I owned and bought with my own money, it brings back so many memories and I have a lot of love for it.
Don't give Activision the $40 for the game, its a sham.
If you do want to play it though, I couldn't recommend it enough. The campaign, and zombies rock. Sadly the multiplayer was taken over by cheaters long long ago.
