Find yourself in the middle of the adventures you know so well from the movies of old. Be the reluctant hero during world war 2 who has to save the world. Fight the evil nazi’s and a magical force awoken from her ancient desert slumber. Under a Desert Sun is a unique VR experience with realistic weapon handling and fully realised environmental interaction.
Under a Desert Sun will be a full singleplayer campaign game, currently in a "wave shooter state" to test game mechanics. This horde mode is intended to be kept as a seperate game mode, next to full game which among other things will contain:
- Realistic weapon handling: use your controllers to handle realistic world war 2 weapons.
- Flight: use your flying skills to fly airplanes and avoid death.
- Free movement and exploration: explore large environments any way you want.
- Impressive VR Graphics: feel immersed in the desert while being overwhelmed by the desert hordes. Incredibly detailed environments, weapons and enemies.
- VR only: this game has been built from the ground up for VR. All interactions and mechanics were built to experience in VR.
- Early access: you are part of this! Let’s make something cool!

i bought this for 89 cents and with a few minutes of play time i love it, its evry fun and updated! i do wish it was multiplayer for you and your friends but overall very fun. i would get this if i was you ONLY if its on sale, if it wasnt on sale i would hold off.
After just 30 minutes of gameplay, I can already say I enjoy this game very much! The guns feel great, the melee weapons are awesome, and the flight is everything I could wish for in a VR game. I highly recommend this game!
Decent little wave shooter with lots of promise! Dev is very active, pushing updates all the time. Also very active in his discord and very devoted to his game. I got this one on sale but would have gladly paid full price for what's available. Guns feel nice and have manual reloading. Can't wait for the upcoming single player campaign!
I love the theme of this game - give me some classic swashbuckling action any day! In its current state, it's a bit rough. You can explore a map and walk into areas that certainly aren't meant to be accessed - and you see the gray void that is the end of the level. The airplane flying, for me, was a terrible bright white mess. These bugs aside, the developer is super active, and the game shows promise. The core shooting mechanics feel good. The graphics and sound effects are nice. The starting room especially looks gorgeous. I look forward to seeing where this game goes! Thumbs: UP!
Still needs some polish, but over all it's a good game. Looking forward to more up dates.
Game has potential but is not quite there yet in terms of content. Though will definitely recommend it when the singleplayer map has been released.
PS. The developer has been very open to listen to critique and fixed a bunch of things that were a problem before.

Looks like the big vision for this game is a single player campaign, but in early access it's just swarm levels. Nothing wrong with that.
[Pros]
Graphics are great.
It's Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark or The Mummy VR (no levels yet)
It has both firearms and melee
[Cons]
It's not very intuitive. From level selection to even the options menu, it will take a bit to adjust. There's some collision issues with the level cubes too that I found really annoying. I bought this a while back but I couldn't even get past level selection because of this.
Not sure if the developers have Vive controllers. It was ok, but felt unpolished. Of course this is Early Access so it's ok.
[Conclusion]
I hope they do a better job of marketing. I did enjoy their Reddit posts back then but I'm not surprised that they're not posting as much any more given how toxic the virtual reality sub-reddits are. Hopefully, they can find another outlet to tell people about the progression of this game.

Worked pretty nice with Og Htc Vive. With Index, Controls are mess.
With Htc Vive it was pretty decent fun for the price.
Over all game seems interesting and fun but right now I can't recommend this product if you are using Index. ( I know it's early access. )
I'm going to keep eye out for updates!
Under the desert sun is a great game with a variety of levels
few levels are about to fight against waves of enemies momie and zombies
another level give us the possibility to explore a pyramid
and another level put us a pilot of an air plane
i love explore the pyramid mode but on the quest the grab is not possible to climb so i have not can continue this mode but the creator will work on this mode and will surely fix this
about the mode waves ,we can choose various weapons from sword to guns and a wonderfull fire bow
, the effect of fire particules on the arrow is wonderfull
my favorite level is the level in the night,
in vr the immersiion in this desert city during the night is great
and i enjoy to can change and use the different weapons to fight against momies and zombies
during the mode wave we are not alone , a friend dog help us and the animations of the dog are great worked and ge doesn't hesit to bite the enemies in order to help you
it is a awesome idea to can have a dog fighting with us against the evil zombie and momie

Under A Desert Sun benefits greatly from its choice of weaponry and maps that are offered to the player. The world war styled weapons were all fun and easy to use, while also making me feel badass. The different types of enemies are also heavily appreciated such as the terrifying horde waves. The game also just added an plane level where you can have dogfights with enemy planes over a desert map. This was a very immersive experience for me as I have never flown a plane in vr so my first time experiencing it was amazing. Overall, if you have the time and money I would heavily recommend this game for some old school wave shooting, and some surprising level designs!
I like the premise and mood of this game allot. It reminds me of the Mummy movies which is pretty unique for a VR Game.
It is early access so expect some bugs. The nice thing is that the developer is very responsive on discord and even steam and I noticed bug report are taken very seriously. There's a steady stream of updates all the time with improvements or big chunks of new stuff to do or explore.
For the current price this is a steal, especially knowing how the game is updated and improved regularly. Looking forward to seeing this progress!
Game looks great, and some things work well... but its still an alpha version, its clunky and unpolished, and needs a lot of work.
The game isnt on a release state, so expect a bit of frustration on how it works right now. (consider the date of the review)
Buying it now, at this "ridiculous low price" is more like support at this stage of development than anything else.
It caught my attention because it recently got an update, so, hopefully it will keep moving forward.
I recommend it because id love to fight mummies and fly airplanes, i mean prime Brendan Fraser simulator? count me in! (but it does need a ton of all around polish and fine tuning).
Note: I played on HTC Vive, with Vive controllers.
This game has some potential. It is still fairly early in development.
The game has free locomotion, which is quite nice, and snap turning.
There is manual reloading for weapons, which is pretty nice. The animations still need some work but it is not bad. It still has some quirks occasionally but nothing game-breaking.
There is not a huge amount of content or levels yet. FOr now there are some preview wave-survival maps but the developer is planning to create a proper single player campaign.
Appearance-wise it doesn't look too bad. There are some graphic style inconsistencies but for the most part it looks just fine.
It still lacks some polish but that is understandable as there is only one dev working on it.
I see this game going far. The developer obviously has his hearth in it. I'm very interested to what it shall lead. For anyone in doubt if they want to invest, just do it, it's the price of a cup of coffee.
An absolute mess. This is exactly how not to make a game. The controls are difficult and cumbersome, sometimes my gun just dropped without me pressing anything or just doesnt shoot at all. I did not always start the level with the gun i chose in the weapon selection level. my gun also did not always reload. movement is too slow and bumping into building is a collision nightmare. please add automatic reloading, faster moving and better collision system.

I have changed my mind once the developer has released the update Altha 0.595 and it gets some improvements that make the game playable in my opinion.
Now I really recommend this game because it is a really decent playable and budget VR game and hopefully a great game in the future. So, if you support it now you may get a VR gem for a cheap price.

Hi everyone!
I'm here just to give some feedback to the developer.
I'm going to give up because the game is unplayable for me at this point. Sometimes I try to release the magazine and then the gun dropped, I don't know why and this happens a lot and I'm sure I don't press the side button. When I drop any gun I can't catch it back from the floor, because of the track I can not reach it. It just doesn't work well as in other games.
I won't ask for the refund because the game is a cheap early access and it is a way I can support you to keep working on it once you are really responsive to community feedback. (guys, have a look at community hub)
I'll be back around 6 months or a year and see if it works better than now after few updates.
I hope to be able to change my recommendation until then.
Fun game, Has potential. Spooked the shit outta me seeing a zombie come from behind or a corner. The only wacky thing about this game are the controls. But you will get use to it overtime
I played this on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers and it mostly played fine
Another wave shooter, but I got this game on sale for .59 cents USD. I think this game is worth at least that much, but not much more. It could potentially be a great game, but it's very rough around the edges currently playwise. If the issues are every fixed, it could be a very fun game to play.
There are locomotion options. The default is moving by joystick or touchpad, you can also teleport. There's three different maps (although 2 of them look very similar). You can move around the map and waves of enemies will come towards you. Each wave brings more enemies. You can select weapons from the main menu. There's actually a decent variety of weapons. None of them feel polished though.
I don't think I would recommend this game at $2.99 until issues are fixed. But this is an easy recommendation at .59 cents if you are interested in another wave shooter, where at least you can move around the map and try different guns. Just realize, there's a reason why the game is priced so low. It needs polishing.
Sale Price Rating 6/10 ... low expectations were met
This game is fun to play and since the developers are very responsive, it has great potential. I'm really happy with the fast based updates. Can't wait for the new features to be implemented!
At 99 cents I found this a worthwile early access game to add to the collection. Creator has been responsive and I'm excited to see where it goes. Graphics are slick, music blends well. I don't know that I 100% agree with the choice of button layout - but hey, it's like only a few hours into early access. Will play more today for sure!
