physics are way off and stutters for no reason
it's fun to play, pass time. the courses are not hard but still fun. i enjoy it.
God-tier game. Gambling, thousands of workshop maps, little to no bugs or glitches, flawless multiplayer experience and vr mode. This is such a solid game. The gambling might seem to be an issue until you find out you can trade cosmetics you earn to open the boxes. A must have game especially when its on sale. (not sponsored, i just really enjoy this game)

I really wanted to leave this as do I recommend cause yes I do but I play it in VR and its just a nightmare trying to get it to actually work. Used on both Quest 2 and Quest 3 no difference. Frame rate plummets and causes a nauseous screen tear. Cant hit the ball cause club goes right through the ball. Friend and I have tried many times through the year with no updates to fix bugs. Please fix the game and I will be back! I want to love this game.
This guy is very hard to have fun in considering the exact angles and power is needed for some maps and is a very bad game with massive FPS drop
I always thought this was the better option than "Golf With Your Friends", specifically because I like the actual physical putter swinging motion you do with your mouse, instead of clicking and dragging a power-bar. So is this game good? Yes. The physics can be pretty glitchy (especially when you have to swing really hard), and it can naturally be pretty rage-inducing at times, but I'd still recommend it.
Now that all that's out of the way, I shall now proceed with losing my mind at the INEXPLICABLE RETARDATION of the design of new assets in the 1.1 update:
So, to those familiar with this game, the "walls" of each mini-golf course are flat. This is good, this is fine, this is normal. However, 1.1 added some shiny new "Grasslands" themed assets, replacing the first official Grasslands map but not replacing the original assets in the map creator. Great! The intent is that mapmakers will be able to use these remastered, prettier assets instead of the old ones, because there is definitely an objective eye-candy improvement.
But here's the part where, somehow, single-digit IQ has taken effect. The new border wall assets specifically (the little walls that keep you on the correct hole) have these little decorative protrusions, and "nubs", and thingies that stick out of them far enough to look like you'd collide with them, but those thingies are VISUAL ONLY. Do I even need to explain why this is a problem in a mini-golf game, where you regularly bank off of, and slide against, these ACTUALLY SMOOTH walls, but that don't LOOK smooth? You can clip through these jutting out rocks and bits, and actually come to a stop while INSIDE these decorative parts, so you can sit there, chilling inside the map's border wall.
Thus concludes my rant, and my excessive use of Caps Lock. Have a nice day (Except whoever made those new wall assets, they all deserve to be bludgeoned across the facial region by a viking wielding a two-handed fish).
Regarding the new impact sounds, I generally disliked the pre-1.1 update's rather loud sound effects, especially the wood impacts, so some new ones are nice, yet I must say that they don't really sound like you're hitting the material you're hitting (like stone or wood). Also, the new putter-ball impact sound is quieter than before, which is nice I guess, but it sounds like a generic impact sound's not audibly recognizable as a golf-club-golf-ball hit sound effect. And the new ball-sink-into-hole sound is actually awful. Before, if you were blindfolded, and heard the putter's hit sound, or ball-sinking sound, you could accurately guess what you're hearing (like a gunshot versus a grenade exploding in a video game), but now they're just so... generic.

The best golf game to play with your friends - no contest. The variety of custom maps and creative level designs, game play that really makes you feel like you're in control of the ball, and good sound design all make this game a solid 10/10.

Looking for a game to play with your child? This is it. There are maps they can do well on. There are maps that will reduce them to tears. There are maps that reduce me to tears. Despite having better hand-eye-coordination and am able to play difficult and fast paced games, I am wholly unable to lob a round ball into a hole 50 yards away in a straight line, and that delights my kiddo.
I can't say that I would recommend this with friends, because it probably has the capacity to ruin friendships if you turn collision on. And if your child is under the age of 10, you WILL play with collision on, but you won't be able to maliciously use it (they can, you can't).
The base game is minimal but the workshop is where it's at. Nice work, workshoppers, you've inflicted us with over 50 hours of evil child laughter and fun.
I would recomend this game because you can exprese your self when makeing levels and make new friends when playing

In my opinion the best mini golf game on Steam. REALLY funny with friends, especially if you play on hard (where not only your strength of push counts, but also if you drift right or left) AND with collision on!

I was about to go to sleep when I felt a divine inspiration to write this review. There's no other way to say it: Golf It changed my life. I've been logging on daily at around 4 or 5 AM and getting off at around 3 AM every night. It's time well-spent. I used to care about pointless things like my credit score or paying bills or my annoying daughter. She's with her mom now. Now all I need is Golf It. I feel complete. I feel happy. Join me and play Golf It (seriously none of my friends play with me anymore they just tell me that they feel really depressed when they see that I'm still online after they have gone to sleep and woken up.) Please, I'm getting desperate here and pretty soon a big change will come if I don't get more multiplayer Golf It. I'll be forced to show those cool kids who's really in charge.

Last Patch over one year ago....
Horrible interface, inconsistent physics, bugs dowloading maps and joining games.
Declining player numbers and toxic community.
The game can be enjoyed while playing with your friends.
Get Golf with your friends instead.
p.s. the only thing that keeps me playing is the shooting mechanic, which indeed is great.
