It is a 6/10 game to be honest. Nice story, nice voices, bad characters graphics when they communicate, easy straightforward, quite short too (Most of the time i was afk).
For a 2016 game I'm unimpressed.
This one came across as pretty bland and wooden for me. The art didn't do anything for me, the animated scenes were atrocious, and the characters were just laughable.
Pretty soon after starting the game, I realised there were no hidden object mess scenes at all in the game. Typically these types of games come with them to add depth and fun to the gameplay, but ultimately the game just boils down to: find objects, join things together occasionally in your inventory, use objects, solve mini-puzzles. That's it.
And to be honest, the puzzles are pretty tame. Even with getting stuck a few times and having to do a 2nd play for a missing achieve, you can see it still only took 4 hours for me to complete. You get the usual suspects - sliding blocks around to clear a trapdoor, untangling wires, rotating wheels to form an image, getting a deputy's hat and putting it on his head, drugging a poor old dude's mint tea with centuries old sleeping pills... any seasoned hidden object gamer would have no trouble here, but perhaps it's just a little TOO basic.
There are some typo errors too. Nothing a good proofread can't fix.
Storywise, it's solid enough. Slow and unresponsive mouse clicks however, can make it frustrating when you're in the zone and speeding through at a nice pace. Frequent cutscenes are slow to cancel as well.
Even though the achieves are pretty easy, I still can't in good conscience recommend this game. Good stories need good gameplay as well, and while it's a good attempt, it needs to do a bit better.
This is similar to HOG games but without the HOS (thank god). It's a great point and click game with quite a good story, nice music (meaning it doesn't make you crazy) decent voice acting and terrific graphics. The puzzles were challenging without making you run for a walkthrough and the achievements actually require a bit of "exploring" to get them all. My only con is that sometimes the translation doesn't get normal everyday English quite right, but it'll only bother you if you're a teacher or are OCD about language. There is a hint of a sequel and I would love to play it!
Must to collect if your that type gamer!
Like: Graphics, Sound and Music
Dislike: Wish there were two more endings and story means. Left me questioning what happened Alicia did she go have her vacation?
Personal Opinion: It took me 4 hours first play that is not recorded by puzzle error. Second play it goes recorded as 2 hours very puzzling.
Word note to whom fixes issues they may need to figure out why second flower puzzle has odd glitch that crashes the game I chose I didn't want loose my time spent on lovely voiced game but I chose skip fearing glitch would occur on another puzzle. :D
I thought I'll have my usual cereal, but I was wrong. This game is by far the best casual mystery game I've played so far. It has a really interesting story behind it, beside the graphics that are wonderfully done, the music which fits the ambient and the mechanics which are easy to understand from the very beginning.
Although some things have tugged on my shoulder as inconvenient. To take a few examples: the fact that you have to use the screwdriver every time for every screw; the low quality of your protagonist's voice even though the other characters have great accents / personalities; the "what do I do now" confusion in the last chapter where you are stuck in an ancient tomb.
All these will make you fill slightly off, but as the story unfolds, you will find yourself wanting more, wanting to find more of what has happened behind all those murders. And the killer will surprise you. I guarantee.
Pretty fair game, story was fleshed out really well. There are no hidden objects, just mini-games/puzzles.
A nice change, the devs mostly gave realistic uses for the collected objects (you even keep some tools to use more than once!); later in the game there were a few obscure uses for things.
Hint function wasn't always helpful.
Puzzles were fun. A few were hard, most were not.
Some things were hard to find, they blended with the background. I clicked a lot.
Map was clunky, with no "action here" flags. It was faster to just keep backing up to change places.
A good buy on sale.
OK but boring plot and revisit area's.
I'm not sure why some people claim this is a HOPA game; it's not. There are no hidden objects anywhere in the game. I'm not saying it's a bad game (not at all), but the "Hidden Object" tag is misleading and incorrect.
Having said that, I enjoyed this game very much. Some parts were frustrating -- not knowing what to do, or not knowing how to do something when you know what needs to be done -- but overall, I was very happy with it. As a departure from most adventure games I've played, this one has voice acting for all of the protagonist's lines, and the voice acting is very good. Additionally, even though this is a game about murder, there was a good amount of humor as well.
On the negative side, I did notice some misspellings and the spoken lines didn't always exactly match the subtitles, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of this game.
I definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes point-and-click adventure games.
A detective goes on a holiday and gets caught up in an investigation of a murder. It soon links to a past murder and our heroine is hot on the murderer's tail. The answer lies in the past and one learns about the Mayan culture and rituals.
I wasn't enthralled with this game. Graphics were just average, so was the music which I had to turn down. Voiceovers were very good and well done. Puzzles were fairly easy, but in some cases explanations were pretty basic. Twice I solved a puzzle, but the game didn't move on.
This is definitely not a HO game....more a point and click adventure. Another glitch I struck was that the fast travel map didn't work for me at all, so I had to backtrack a fair bit. Definitely buy this on sale. 6/10.
Recommending, with caveats.
1) Don't pay full price.
2) Don't expect anything new or special.
3) Don't expect actual Hidden Object scenes.
1)- Get it on sale, It is short, 3.6 hours for me, a full, very slow playthrough, clicking on everything just to see what the ?'s were there for. Honestly, not a terrible game, but not worth full price IMHO.
2)- None of the puzzles are new or innovative. The puzzles are actually quite simple, many solved by just randomly clicking on buttons or arrows until it "clicks". No real puzzle-solving skills needed. (Relatively easy 100% game, if that's all you want.)
3) I honeslty don't recall any Hidden Object scenes. It was more a Point & Click, with the cursor changing to indicate objects you could interact with. None of them really felt "hidden", not even close.
Music is okay, but repetitive, a bit boring.
Voice acting is "meh", lacking appropriate emotion, and often oddly paced. (Too slow, pregnant pauses that are into the 4th trimester before the words are birthed.)
Some minor spelling and grammatical errors in the text, some text and voice acting being different in English. Repeated typo "week" instead of 'weak" was a tad cringy.
Typical back and forth from one location to the next and back again, to get items to complete a puzzle. The back & forth got really heavy and felt a bit padded toward the end, like it was done just to increase playtime. More content would have been a much better idea.
Nice fast-travel map with good location images did make the back and forth a bit easier to deal with.
The art was fine. Not great, not super "realistic", some images felt a little underbaked, but not terrible, decent enough quality for what the game is.
"Secret" achievements that don't make your brain bleed trying to get them. A plus if you like easy 100% games.
Trading Cards, that I will need to idle the game for a bit to get the last one.
3.6 hours was, again, a full, 100% playthrough, no hints used or needed (other than the one you must use in the tutorial). Some folks can probably zip through it faster, without batting an eye.
All in all, it isn't a horrible game, if you want easy, a bit bland, and typical. Worth a few bucks, get it on deep discount. Don't spend full price, you'll probably feel badly if you do.
6.5./10
Not a bad game. There are no HO scenes, and sometimes that is refreshing. Some of the tasks you complete are not really related to the story at all, and the acting is not on the top of the list of great features, but I did enjoy some head-scratching moments. Some of solutions were possibly slightly illogical, but not that far off the mark. I even wanted to hit that hint button a couple of times. And the mini games were generally pretty good, if sometimes a little too easy. But there were some challenges as well, and again, sometimes I was tempted to just hit that old skip button. I would recommend getting the game on sale though, and partly because I'm finding these games are getting more expensive where the value for what you pay for is not necessarily increasing with that hike.
A very well done detective game. The story of a famous writer who was murdered in a cabin. In the same time, detective Alicia was visiting that town for her vacation which seems to be cut short due to the sheriff's request for her help. Accepting his request, Alicia starts her investigation. I enjoyed the story which contains four chapters, once you finish a chapter, the investigation will move to another area which will not allow you to re-visit the previous locations even with the fast traveling map which the game has.
This game doesn't have any hidden objects scenes, however, it has many puzzles which varies from easy to hard. I loved the game's art, loved everything about the details and colors choice. The characters design wasn't bad, but not the best.

They did a very good job with the voice overs especially the main character. It is rare to hear the character commenting on everything happens and doesn't sound like a loop. I found her sarcastic comments funny.
I liked the addition of the very good and useful journal which keeps track of the story, characters bio and your gaming experience (How many puzzles you've skipped/solved and how many hints you've used!)
Pros:
+Beautiful graphics.
+Good soundtracks.
+Interesting detective story.
+Good voice overs.
+Fast travel map.
+Steam achievements.
Cons:
-The cutscenes seem a little bit slow.
Judging from the ending, the game seems to promise a sequel which I can't wait for! I do recommend this game for casual adventure gamers who love puzzles!

The Game Review
Game Visuals
I want to mention that the visuals in the game are well done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu.
Game Audio
I want to mention that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well.
Gameplay
There are four different game difficulty modes to choose from: Casual; Adventure; Challenge and Custom.
The notebook keeps track of the progression in the game. Such as story events and clues.
There is an interactive map in the game. It allows the player to fast travel between each location quickly without having the need to constantly backtrack. It also indicates that there are a variety of tasks that can be completed at various locations within the game. The interactive map is not automatically given at the start of the game.
There is no padlock feature that is available to lock the inventory panel in place to make it stationary. The inventory panel automatically comes stationary.
There are some interactive items in the game. Some of the interactive items may require extra components before they can be interacted with. All interactive items are marked with a symbol in one of the corners.
The hidden object scenes consist of the following: Shadow items; Traditional word lists; Fragmented items and Picture items. Some of these hidden object scenes may require a little or no interaction.
The puzzles are fairly easy to solve without having the need to skip any of them.
There are thirty-five different achievements that can be unlocked from playing the game. Each of these achievements does come with some requirements that need to be completed before they can be unlocked.
Miscellaneous
There are five different trading cards to collect. Only three of those trading cards are given out by the game. There are several ways to get the rest of the trading cards: Purchased from the Steam's Community Market; Trade with friends; Booster Packs and its Booster Pack Creator.
Final thoughts: I have found the game enjoyable to a certain extent. The replay value for the game is low. I would recommend this game, but not at the game's full price value.
Not so much a hidden object game, but more a classic point-and-click adventure. The story is not too bad, although the first part was more entertaining than the second part of the story. Also, it moved from detective to supernatural in a rather abrupt way. The last part was a bit of tedious bore of puzzles with less obviousl logic.
Still fun enough for the prize.
I really enjoyed this game. Hopefully the sequal comes soon
