Katy and Bob: Safari Cafe

It is a super easy game, and is essentially the same the entire time, with a change of fruits each area. It could be repetitive to people, but if you want a game to play just to pass some time, it's good.

A nice little time management game, although it's extremely easy. Not sure how you'd ever lose a level. Sometimes there are also relatively long periods of waiting for customers to arrive. It's rather boring compared to other time management games. But it's good if you just want something simultaneously chill and moderately stimulating.

as to quote Pattee from the big fish games website: "This would be a fun game for beginners to this type of TM game but for those who have played any of the Diner Dash, etc. type of games .... you will quickly become bored due to the lack of challenge."

i love the seemingly outdated graphics, but i hate how repetitive everything is. with other time management games you often change maps with different layouts but here the restaurant more or less stays the same for all the levels and you just upgrade here and there which just makes it very boring. the game isn't challenging either so it quickly becomes a snooze fest.

not only is this game boring, but it has no cloud saves. so when i uninstalled it and came back to it to get all my achievements i had to start all over.

on top of all this, when looking at the devs game history it seems that they just make the same game over and over again and only reskin it. very lazy and not appreciated. at least the game is cheap but i would still only recommend it on discount.

I completed the entire game and received every achievement. It was a really fun but simple game. It really scratched a dinner dash/cake mania itch that I have had for a while as I grew up playing these types of games. If you enjoy that type of experience, this is for you!

I found the basic mechanics of K&B Safari Cafe to be well developed. I was able to manipulate the use of the fireworks to make so much extra gold coins that I had my kitchens completely built less than halfway through the play for each kitchen.

Which brings me to the complaint: They removed the different kitchens for the most part. Knowing that I had to complete my kitchen within x numbers of levels was the very thing that made me excited to play these games. Once that feature was gone, the game just became a question of wtf am I doing this for???

I'm guessing that it was the result of too many complaints that made the devs decide to make that one fatal decision to NOT give us a new kitchen every 10/20 levels. WTF guys??? WHY?

You removed the very thing that made these games so charming. Now, this one plays like all of the others out there. Very sad indeed. PLEASE fix this if you make more!

I did I get my money's worth as I bought this on sale--or in a bundle--or both???
However, because game play was in the same kitchen for most of the game, I often found myself shutting the game down, or just not wanting to play. So, the value on this game was minimal this time around because it was not very enjoyable to play overall.

I HIGHLY recommend this game IF it is on sale.

Katy and Bob: Safari Cafe must have been a product of a brainstorming session that ran out of steam halfway. It's a game that manages to combine the tediousness of repetitive gameplay with a narrative that's as thin as tracing paper, and characters whose depth is comparable to a puddle.

The game is advertised as a time management adventure featuring a couple, Katy and Bob, who are running a cafe in the middle of a safari. But the reality of the game experience is far from adventurous or exciting. The tasks are mundane, and the pace doesn't elevate the experience. It's like the developers decided to wrap a dull, everyday job in a safari-themed wrapper and call it a game.

The character development of Katy and Bob leaves much to be desired. For a game that centers around a couple, there's a conspicuous lack of genuine connection or relationship dynamics between them. They might as well be two random people tossed together for no apparent reason. The character interactions are about as stimulating as watching paint dry.

I'm not advocating for gratuitous adult content in every game, but when you're dealing with a couple, a little bit of romance or intimacy wouldn't go amiss. Instead, Katy and Bob's relationship is as sterile as a hospital room. There's no passion, no chemistry, nothing that makes you feel like these characters are in a relationship.

The game seems to deliberately avoid any mention or hint of their relationship beyond the bare minimum required to call them a couple. This is not about expecting hentai or any explicit content - it's about wanting to see a believable and engaging portrayal of a relationship. A little bit of depth and complexity would have done wonders for these characters and for the game as a whole.

Short but enjoyable game. It was frustrating to start all over again each time you enter a new region (3 regions total), but I guess if you don't play it all in one sitting it wouldn't be as bad.

I know some people may like this game for this reason but I found the speed and pace to be too quick. I play games like these to unwind and de-stress but it's difficult with how fast guests and orders come and how many things there are to manage: like the juice, burgers, freezing, fruit for the monkey, there was too many things combined with how fast the pace is and it just wasn't for me. I recommend it if you like games like Penguin Diner or Diner Dash and it's a good game, but just too overwhelming for me personally.

For what it is, it works well. Kinda wish the clickable locations were a bit bigger so it is easier to play but other than that, good game.

A graphically beautiful little game. I found it to be both simple and fun. Every interaction is done through the mouse and the ability to upgrade parts of the shop after every level gives a compelling sense of 'need to do' that can keep the player going for quite a while. I've certainly had a good time with it and can easily imagine my self returning for more in the future.

I will start off by saying, this game is not for those looking for a challenging time management game. It was a pretty easy game to play. The first game (Katy and Bob: Way Back Home) was far more challenging and had a bit more story line. All that being said, it was a fun game. For the price, it had hours of game play. It would be good for the truly casual or new to time management players.

I've always got all of the upgrades before completing the game. It felt a little bit empty that I had all that money and didn't have what to spend it on.
Short game - I finished it in about 6 hours, worth the price. I would definitely recommend for anyone who plays these games to relax.

This is a great little game. Although I purchased this, it was on such a great Steam sale it was practically free. I mean, where else can you find a game for under $1.00 these days? Amazing. This is on par with any number of flash games you might play on social media for free that have a restaurant format and are all about time management and serving orders to customers and upgrading your food service, etc. Pretty basic. I do like that they've got a whole series of these available and if you're in the mood to play this type of game, the safari theme was really fun. I'd play it again. I'd consider buying other games in this series as well.

Katy and Bob: Safari Cafe is a traditional point-and-click time management game where you will be running around the shop taking orders from customers, fulfilling them, and checking them out for money in each levels.

If you are seeking for enriching stories in this game, then I would advise to lower your hope - as I had mentioned, this is pretty straightforward time management game. So, the story itself in this game is pretty blandly straightforward.

The visual graphic in this game is pretty decent. Nevertheless, the artwork style and the color palette are notably incredibly outdated, compare to their first season of the series "Katy and Bob: Way Back Home". Furthermore, the safari-themed soundtracks are quite endearing and the sound effects are pretty much on-point.

Overall, it is still pretty decent game to pass the time. Thank you very much for the game.

Woo! Another fine game in the series! This one has improved on graphics, game play and everything else. I really enjoyed reading the comics, having fun with the safari and listening to the fun soundtracks. This game only crashed once, which was an upgrade. I also find this game much easier than the first one, but no complaints. Lots of fun was had, that is important. It was also amusing to see the artist guy disappear and reappear to give the character money. Fun! Thank you for the game and the advancement of the story line!!! :D :D :D

If you ever want a cute and relatively length time management game with practically zero challenge, then the second Katy and Bob is definitely your pick.

Long version:

Katy and Bob 2: Safari Café is barely more than a reskin of the first game, with a safari theme instead of a tropical one. Only the difficulty changed—as in, its rating dropped to essentially non-existent levels, turning all 60 stages into a repetitive yet still adequately fun routine.

On the plus side, Katy and Bob 2 is the harmless kind of non-challenging casual title that takes the word “casual” rather seriously. If you want some lazy fun, then serving fruits, juice, and grill meat for a bunch of surprisingly patient customers should be right up your alley.

Like in the first one, there is some semblance of a story to go along with all this, but it is just there to have some plot; it is probably even more of a phone-in than last time. Still, like the rest of the Safari Café, it is innocent enough to never turn into a disadvantage.

Katy and Bob: Safari Cafe is a very fun serving sim. It's much better than Katy and Bob Way Back Home. It doesn't have glitches or clicks not registering like the previous one. Overall a fun casual game.
