Rule Your School is a game in which you create and manage a school. Choose the correct decisions at the right time and become the best school in town! You are the headmaster, you decide what happens. Organize proms, hire teachers, force students to work in the gardens or be generous and let them play football.
With over 150 objects to choose from the possibilities are endless. Pick the right floor type and a wallpaper. Build classrooms with modern tables, or rather use classic ones. Your choice.
- Design and build your own school.
- Hire teachers, train them and customize their pay. Make sure they are content or risk losing your most valuable employees!
- Draw in new students but make sure your school is big enough!
- Keep your students happy and healthy. Pick what food is available in the canteen and set their prices. Everything affects everything. Make the right decisions!
- Your students and teachers will present you with dilemmas. How will you respond to these dilemmas and how will it change your school?
- Inspect detailed statistics about your students and teachers to help you better respond to certain events!
- Unlock many objects, possibilities and make sure your school is up to standard!

The controls are a bit wonky\annoying and you instantly get the achievements in the tutorial. I am sure some of you discovered this game through youtubers torturing the students and turning it into a sweatshop, and it is an okay sandbox for this kind of content.
If you desire to do entertainment for children or young adults and make videos, this is an easy way to do that, but the models are pretty ugly as its just the default stand in assets and meshes.
Build mode is a bit like sims2, maybe some differences.
The game is not well designed. The building system is hard to navigate. You cannot delete something after it is placed. Buy at your own risk.
(This is all my opinion you may think otherwise)
This game is very fun, but there are many things that need fixing, including the many many bugs this game creates.
Before you continue reading just to let you know, this game isn't for everyone, I personally thought the game was a lot of fun before encountering bugs in the game, also if abusing children or running a sweatshop for the money is your thing, totally recommended if not and you enjoy playing games similar to planet zoo or sims still recommend it. However if neither one is your thing don't waste your money.
Pros:
1. this game has lots of fun aspects, including the creativity that you can put into one of these schools
2. the price of things can get expensive if you start running out of money, but thankfully loans are a thing
3. getting money is really easy, especially once you've unlocked chemistry and garden beds
4. the price of the game is fantastic for the fact that it is very buggy (I got the game when it cost about $4 in Australian money)
Cons:
1. Mentioned this about a billion times now, VERY BUGGY
2. Moving things is very annoying if you have to fill an entire classroom with desks, pottery wheels and chemistry tables
3. Great concept not greatly executed
4. students bug out for some reason and then they are stuck in the floor
Good idea of the game but a lot of bug etc. sometimes you cant move anything and you have to shutdown and restart the whole game and others the wall will stay attached to your mouse. dont want a refund btw
The game has a few defects/shortcomings though also a few good points. Its gorgeous that you can scroll, zoom and view the entire town and school from any angle this way advanced , seeing nice buildings around and cars, students walking in, on other side also though building, placing furniture is bit cumbersome, you have to click some place to place a furniture to see it, its blueprint outline does not follow your mouse prior, after placing it, its position is not finally defined, it will get moved whenever you click it wont get deselected until you select different furniture. Sound effects are bare but at least you can turn off the music, but aside of chatter audience, no other event sounds i think. The tutorial is aimed to be very precise whats good, but its overdone to the extreme it holds you very firmly to the extent its annoying, micromanaging every step like some things are clear to players unless you are first time with computer and its your first game like how to resize room and closing dialogue and closing something else, significantly intrusive and hindrance. And its in every menu like that, not confirming it it asks you if you want to close the tutorial which you dont want, you just want it being less intrusive, perhaps displaying at different place and not having to click it once you finish the requested action, it could perhaps progress alone without clicking, confirming it. And already mentioned that placing object you have to already click it on some position to which it was place initially automatically it seems, and resizing rooms you have to click its already placed position and clicking on arrows which are there closeby, not quite standard of resizing, but works and usable but little unfamiliar.
Overall this game is a buggy mess, but also somewhat fun
The game can be fun if you know how to work around the bugs. Overall, it's really boring and hard to figure out--even with the tutorial. I don't recommend this game unless you are purposely trying to break it or turn the students into unpayed labor workers.
Love the concept of this game, however, there are so many bugs which make it unplayable. It needs some serious updates and fixes unfortunately.

- Places objects in totally random areas compared to my view
- Cannot place flooring/wallpaper
- Walls get 'stuck' while building and end up with one huge long wall where it would not 'drop' the wall from the cursor.
Waste of money!
I had bought this game because I saw a youtuber play it and it looked like fun. Upon opening the game, I was unable to properly move or build. I wanted to build a cool school in sandbox mode, but it will not let me hire teachers for some reason. I left it in my steam library and forgot about it, until recently when I opened it back up to try it again. I experienced the same issues.

This game is terrible in the best kind of way. If you just want to mess around on a cheap game then I recommend this, but there's no way you can take it seriously.
To put it simply, the game needs work. But, I want to start with the good aspects.
Firstly, this is a good concept ; like the Sims, but taking place in a school. Additionally, the music is simple and charming and doesn't drive you mad. The "Progress" function is unique and gives a driving factor to continue the game, though obviously needs expanding on. I found the "Health" function to be interesting too, just another thing to keep the player on their toes. The game is fun with these smaller, well designed aspects.
However, the major problems in this game overshadow the little things. Mainly the User Interface. When you're new, it's frustrating having to adapt to it. Controlling the camera using WASD was a poor decision and would be much better by giving the option to control it using the mouse and by holding MOUSE1 and dragging. Another thing that bothered me along these lines is how moving your mouse in one direction will cause the camera to violently move in that direction, which is frustrating when simply clicking a button. The tutorial often pops up at inconvenient times and is quite annoying when starting out, especially with how slowly paced it is. I also found that it is never explained on how to delete objects and had to go looking in the forums.
For a game at this price, it's well done and once you figure out how to work through the interface, it's entertaining and a good time killer. :)
The game was fun for the first couple hours I played it. You get to design you own school, hire teachers, furnish it with items you unlock with achievements if you fulfill them, and occasionally you are asked to make decisions that affect your school's status. You have to fulfill the students' happiness, health, and grades, while also not going into debt maintaining the school. But the game's progression is so short, that it leaves a lot to be desired and makes it a bit boring and stagnant once you reach a certain point, and have more money than you know what to do with it. I mean, I guess I can't expect much from a game at this price but I still think there could have been a lot more done.
The achievements aren't very challenging to complete and there isn't a lot to unlock anyway; you can probably unlock everything within an hour except decorations (that are unlocked when your students paint). You get to unlock fancier desks, boards, and some amenities such as a toilet, sink, and vending machines. Some things clearly affect your students, such as making vending machine junk foods free (lowers health), but some seem to make zero difference on the students?
I wish there was some sort of description or numbers that state how this affects your students' happiness, for example if a cushier desk boosts their happiness or the digital board raises their grades.
The game also lacks depth, which is surprising because I feel like there's a lot you can do with a game that revolves around running a school. It gets redundant to be asked the same questions in the game over and over that don't really have much effect on the game long term: should your students be allowed to smoke? Use phones in class? Drink alcohol at prom? These same questions get cycled throughout the game.
You only get regular school desks, easels, pottery tables, and lab tables as far as setting up classrooms go. I think a larger variety of subjects would be much more engaging, or if you could assign different subjects to different classrooms that don't have a obviously special type of desk. Maybe weights for a weightlifting class, sports equipment, a kitchen for home ed, fish tanks/terrariums for biology/ecology, etc. There's so many different things that could be added. Maybe school clubs, or cliques, or the ability to pick out school colors, or more school events besides prom.
There isn't even anything to make a cafeteria or library, which I feel is a quintessential part of a school. You get a soccer field that serves no purpose other than maybe boosting health and occasionally notifies you that your school's team lost, and gardens that help you get some more money. That's it.
On top of adding different subjects, the teachers also are pretty useless. You could hire teachers with higher experience to raise your students' grades, but it would be neat to see each teacher have a different set of skills and hire them to teach different subjects accordingly.
My biggest issue with this game besides the lack of depth, is how clunky and difficult it is to put down items/furniture. You will click to add an item and it'll appear in a completely random place. This gets annoying as your school gets bigger because it can be hard to find smaller things such as a router; it'll be on the complete opposite side from where you want it to be, so you have to scroll all the way there to drag it back to where you want. There's also the problem of not being able to move items at all after playing for a while, so I have to restart the game.
This isn't such a big issue but I wish indoor decorations went beyond just potted plants and paintings. I'd like to see some more miscellaneous things such as bookshelves, bulletin boards, bins of school supplies, banners, a school mascot, a hamster cage for a class pet, drying racks for art rooms, etc.
So overall, it isn't necessarily a bad game for the price because it's still fun to play for while, but it's very lackluster and doesn't have a lot of replay value.
I recommend this game because it can be hilarious to watch the game brake and it's also so funny how you can torture the students but i also agree that this game needs major fixes in a lot of areas
Oh it's dire.
I only paid 39p in the sale as I wanted to give this a shot but it's so easy to make an irreparable mistake that I can't get anywhere.
If you hold down the mouse button to edit a desk, for instance, and don't quite catch it and hit the wall instead, it extends the wall and then you can't move the wall back. I tried clicking the red button but that just asks to delete the whole room (and fails because there are used desks in there).
So it is far too easy to click the wrong thing and ruin the entire school by extending a wall into another.
The twisted nonsense that the kids say is distracting and very poor grammar and spelling.
I didn't get any fun out of this after I finished the tutorial despite multiple restarts to try and fix my errors. It's just to easy to slip and screw up the while building.
This game is alright. I was actually having fun. I saw the bad reviews but since it was so cheap I thought I could give it a go. So everything was running good. It was pretty fun until I ran into a bug. I couldn't move any objects or create more walls. This was kind of a downer, The game has potential! The graphics are fine. Everything seems fine. People just don't play the game like you need to. It can be fun. But the developer(s) need to fix those bugs that can ruin the game. Please fix the game, it would be so fun without problems :(
Really a cool Sim Game, but buggy as hell!
I just had a bug, which happened not only once in my few hours playtime, that wouldn't allow me to zoom out anymore, so i decided to save and restart. Which all the times before worked. But after Loading, the walls of my Headoffice went missing, with all the Interiour still there, game would neither allow me to build new walls around it and make it a functional room again, nor to delete headoffice desk. Noone showed up anymore i get closed by the city. My whole Savegame went to shit and im not sure if i will play again or recommend this before a new update arrives.
This game looks unfinished. There are a few bugs that I came across (like I can zoom in, but not all the way back out) and a not-helpful tutorial. I didn't know that I could raise money with vegetable gardens. I feel like there needs to be more items and harder challenges. I'd like to be able to assign a teacher to a desk or set up a school gym. It was alright. On a brighter note, the random things the students have to say are funny.
Even after some time to get adusted how strange the placement work I still not manage to get the rooms at the place I want to have them all the times and have things placed I didn't want to place (like suddenly have 3 doors at the same wall),
Worst of all the Students and Professor running out of the room and then go around the complete building just to go trough a wall!
So over all the idea would be great but the execution not even come close to what I would call a game out of the beta.
This game was on its way to doing well as what you could do with the school was growing but then development completely stopped, hopefully nothing bad happened to the developer.
You can have proms, school sports, various classes, teachers and students making amusing comments, people may find this game worth a go despite its hiccups here and there but the game definitely fell short of what it could have been.
What can I say about this game. It needs some touching up and additions to the game. At the low price that it is, I can understand why not a lot of objects are in the game.
Pluses:
1. The game lets you design the rooms and school yourself.
2. If they change some settings, this game has great potential.
3. The price.
Minuses:
1. Even though they've updated to allow deleting of a game, it doesn't work very well. If I name the game the same name, it pulls up the old school. I even named it a different name once and got the last school.
2. There needs to be some guidelines or something. I can't tell how many blocks are being used as their is no grid showing you what you have and there is no way to edit.
3. There is no way to edit or move anything once you've approved the placement.
4. The field wouldn't move to the far side of the lot like I wanted.
At the moment, I would not recommend. Should they adjust some stuff a little to make for easier game play then I will change my review.
