HAHAHA, what the hell? had good ambiance and i could tell something weird was going on with the audio which scared the fuck out of me, but then i got caught.... no crouch so i don't know how to be stealthy, BUT the big issue....... the monster is not only not scary looking, but actually funny...... and the loudness is inappropriate as hell.... dare i say dangerously bad for your ears..... avoid this one.

Pretty awful, but one of those awful games that are actually kinda fun. Recommended if you like bad games.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

It's one of the worst games in my library. And yes I like playing bad games from time to time just for a laugh. But this is not just bad, it is plain unplayable.

Beware of the generic troll(or whatever it is) that will chase you while you look for keycards on a spaceship???

The Preview Video on the Store page is misleading, this is definitely 'NO' hotel. Beds unmade, showers don't work, TV's with no reception, some extra-terrestrial critter plague, blood and bile painted on the walls, front desk vacated, I've stayed in better hostels than this. Having said that, Hostels in Adelaide 'the murder capital of the world' are somewhat similar. In fact if I was to go down to one of their Hostels and paint all their windows black, this could in fact be based on a true story?...

The other thing that makes the trailer on the Store page misleading is that it contains a very clever glowing nemesis of light. It seems that this was in the game's Alpha stages. Now, you’re required simply to dodge the whereabouts of a goofy looking ‘world of Warcraft’ ogre with a club, zipping around like he is the looney tune road runner. Why the change developer???!!!

It’s not that difficult once you realise that the ogre has a set path and that the 4 key cards you have to collect to open the fire exit door are always in the same positions. The map is simply a boring 'figure eight pattern', so it's quite easy to set yourself a speed run where you can finish the entire game in less than 3 minutes.

Too dark. Putting horse blinkers on a gamer, by making everything too dark, might hide some design issues and crude work, but it places all gamers in a negative mood straight away. Gamers want to see all the eye candy they have paid for. Not have it hidden. If I wanted to go to a cheap seedy low-lit joint with strange biological substances hanging on the walls and ceiling, then I’d go to your mother’s house Mr Developer.

Tips for developer…

• Over relying on jump scares just cheapens your game to a very immature crowd. Want to lose respect quickly as a game designer? Then continue to make games with no story and just have scary sounds in them. Your game's story should not be just on the store page as an afterthought, but more in the game itself. If you don't do this, then it just makes your game look like a poorly planned mistake.

• No AI and preselected path recognition makes the enemy a serious yawn. You might as well get rid of the monster and just have scary suggestions for some atmospheric environment and replace the NPC with clever puzzles. Having an NPC that keeps interrupting the gamer from enjoying all the gaming art, makes the experience of the game infuriating.

• Good games always have clear instructions on what a person needs to do, bad game design assumes that players know what to do. Game designers should care for their customers, wanting them to have a good experience while in product. The feeling of being 'lost' is not a welcoming feeling for gamers.

• No sound control options are vexing for recorders. No ambience musical score just makes your game drab for those wanting to be immersed in your imagined horror. Music really makes and breaks most horror games.

• Having options that don't work in your game like a save feature. Just yells out 'not finished, incompetence'. Get rid of any feature in game not working or fix.

In final, I've seen worse. But this hotel is definitely below standard. It needs to add proper story, good AI, satisfying puzzles, ambient soundtrack, more levels or tasks needing to be completed to raise it' star rating in the hotel industry. Granted it's cheap, a nasty insect problem, unmade beds, showers that don't work, blood and bile on the walls. So why isn't it called 'Adelaide Hostel'?

This game is a masterpiece, all those who've written a negative review are all uncultured and unintelligent Neanderthals who have yet to understand the deep and meaningful story that this game, no, this piece of art has to offer it's so much more than just another horror game, it is a way of life and it gives mine meaning.

Well here we are again, wandering around in the dark with a torch that needs an incredible amount of batteries to function. And this time in space. Really cannot understand why torch technology in the future is even worse than that of today...

So the game? Yeah its a dull find the key simulator. And of course there is an ugly and amateur looking monster wondering around trying to stop you. Well I think it is - sometimes it hunts you down like a heatseeking missile, other times it walks right by you. And if it does get you - the first thing it will destroy is your hearing.

By the way it's a completely different monster from the store video. In fact none of the things in the video are in game - such as cutscenes, or ambient horror noises. Other than your (loud) footsteps, and the monsters (quiet) footsteps there is very little ambience or audio of any kind. There is however a load game option that does'nt load anything.

Not sure if it's even possible to complete this, as I never could find the yellow card, and I'm not going to waste any more time trying. At least there is adecent amount of graphical options (but no rebindable keys) but when the game is this dull and ugly looking even that is a wasted effort.

I booked this through Trivago online after finding a number of good reviews on their site. After arriving we found they had lost our reservation, the first mistake. They were very nice about it and found us a room anyway, we asked about room service as we arrived late and were told there is a McDonalds just in the next solar system, second mistake.

When we were shown our room we found blood on the bed from what looked like an Alien being born through an unfortunate host. The bathroom had some kind of goo that looked like it came from a slime alien and it was stuck on everything like there had been a slime orgy in there.

The tv had only channels in Klingonese and the remote was broken, the fridge rattled all night and the air con did not work.

To cap it off a couple of large slug creatures from the planet Tatooine had sex continually in the room next door making the whole room shake and we could not sleep.

We told the reception and asked to see the manager but were told the Hotel caters to a large number of different life forms and we were being lifeist.

We decided to leave after one night and stayed at the Hilton Uranus which catered to humanoids only and was perfect.

Space Hotel is a cinematic masterpiece. I've had many a friend play space hotel and they've all loved it. Such great graphics for a tiny indie game. More in-depth details below.

Gameplay is very fluid, had no trouble understanding what was going on in the background. It is an extremely well done game.

Very scary. Almost didn't finish it but I powered through. The monster is quite terrifying!

Music is always boring to me in video games. Luckily; this game has none!

-Cons
Would love if there was DLC or some sequel to Space Hotel. I can't wait to see what the developer releases next!!

No story at all, just collect 4 key cards and LEAVE THE SHIP... Only horror in this game is the gameplay

In Space Hotel, your main objective is to find four colored keycards and make your escape via an on-board spaceship. While on a trade route, one of the engines on your ships breaks, forcing you to land at this location in the star system of Merope, in the constellation of Pleiades. Little did you know before landing that a massacre had taken place, and the killer is still lurking through the dim corridors.

See what just a minimal amount of creative writing can do to set the mood? Space Hotel sounds pretty alright, huh? Don't let the above description fool you, as that's all the backstory you get regarding this title, and absolutely none of it is located in-game. Actually, you aren't even told what your main objective is, you just wander around until you end up finding your first keycard and you go from there. The monster has a set path, and he never strays from it; meaning that unless you're directly in his way, he won't bother with you. If you do happen to die, it's back to the very beginning because the supposed save system was never implemented.

There's no ambiance, no soundtrack, everything is way too dark, the graphics are okay at best, the flashlight and stamina meters disappear if you ALT+TAB, the monster is a lurching axe-wielding ogre... which brings us to the next point; the video on the store page must be from Space Hotel's alpha state, as it is not an accurate representation of the current build of the game. The video shows a glowing, humanoid figure, plus some small cutscenes and scripted events that do not actually occur. It needs to either be updated, or removed entirely, as it's misleading.

Lasting 10 minutes per playthrough at best, Space Hotel is another drab sci-fi horror game with a stealth twist that just doesn't get it. Not to mention, it feels like you're wearing side-blinders for the entirety of the game since everything outside of the flashlight illumination is pitch black. It's definitely not the worst that's out there, but it's far from the best and a total waste of time and money; but hey, surprisingly there are no performance issues.

Rating: 1.0/5.0 - It's Bad.

This is the worst game I have ever played.
This is not an exaggeration.
Other than for a laugh don't buy this.

Sadly disappointed.

Had some high hopes with this game. The graphics looked good, the atmosphere seemed scary. I thought this would finally be the game to scare me.

Boy was I wrong.

Shortly after starting the game, I was able to walk right through a door.
Then met the monster moments after and the A.I. bites the big one.

Most times he knows where you are and attacks, even though you are following the directions properly on avoiding him.
Other times, he walks right by you when he should be attacking you.
There is no way to kill him. At least not at the beginning.

Just seems like a game that was rushed to get out and make as much money as possible.

Hopefully the developer will fix these issues, but has not as of yet, and these issues have been around for a while.

Don't get me wrong, I do not have any real issues with graphics or sound.
I am upset about the gameplay, and A.I.

DON'T BUY, IT'S A FRAUD!

Did you maybe saw video on game's Steam page and decided it can be ok since there is ghost-like creature, nice light, okayish graphic, FMV sequences and creepy atmosphere?
Well, nothing is in actuall "game" implemented.

We've got terrible amaterish Ogre, dumb as FCK (he goes on rails, you can avoid him standing still on one meter away, but out of his rails of course), light is in pre-alpha phase, glitching through walls, graphic is from 2004, no FMV sequences shown in advertising video here on Steam.
So, no ghost, no look and no atmosphere of horror, because once you realise how dumb is Ogre-on-rails, you just walk carelessly and explore all few rooms you have here.
Yep, "game" can be speed runned in like 3 minutes (ok maybe 4), and I mean it for real!
Not in first playthrough of course, but even then 15 minutes will be enough.

Avoid at any cost, this is just another fraud on Steam.

The game can be finished quite quickly. There's zero story to this game. You can read the "How To Play" guide and it just tells you the monsters weakness and to find a few key cards to leave via a ship on the second level. How did I get here? What happened to the crew? How did I even know there was a ship on the second level? The game just feels like a proof of concept that the developer could build something and throw it out there. The graphics are good and the sound effects are good too so that is something. Also, the video on the store page showing the creature as a glowing person. Nope! They completely removed that in the game and included instead a huge orge guy. Someone may want to change that video.....

I cover most of my feelings in my video below. I would say the game suffers from lack of polish overall. If your looking for a quick laugh for less then a $1 then give it a try. Also i was playing this game on a GTX 1070 at 1440p and i didn't get any frame drops...

The graphics are really nice and the atmosphere is scary. however, there are alot of bugs. if you go to options in game or alt tab your stamina and battery meter go away. you can go through alot of objects. direction in the game is unclear, there is no in game control info. if you run out of battery you might aswell kill youself because you cant see anything.

this would get a thumbs down if it wasn't so cheap.

The game runs at around 47 FPS on a GTX 1080 on medium settings. If you alt tab, the battery and stamina meter disappear. If you click "Return to menu" and try to start a new game, it crashes. The 1 monster has a predetermined path, so if you simply stand to the side, it will walk right by you. Items needed to complete the game can randomly despawn. Once you learn the location of the items, and the game doesn't crash or other bugs don't happen, you can beat the game in less than 3 minutes.

Basically this is a pile of shit and shouldn't be on steam.

Its not the best Horror game i played, but for the price its ok, you run around in this space station and need to collect different colored key cards to try and escape.
But theres a murderous monster around, so becareful :)
