"Rosenkreuzstilette Freudenstachel" is the sequel to "Rosenkreuzstilette", a level-based 2D side scrolling action game for PC.
STORY
Thousands of years have passed since "magic" was lost to the people. Now there are but a few who even know of its existence. Those who possessed magical abilities were faced with persecution.Several months have passed since Count Zeppelin's ill-fated rebellion against the Holy Empire and the Orthodox Church. Rebuilding the damage caused by Rosenkreuzstilette, the Pope issues a solemn decree: that all Magi are to be considered menaces to society and enemies of the state. Establishing his own strike force of magic-users loyal to the faith, Schwarzkreuz, the Pope and his followers set out to put an end to the last of the resistance.
Spiritia Rosenberg, the plucky young woman responsible for quashing the Count's uprising, is among the first to be captured during Schwarzkreuz's witch hunt. As Freudia Neuwahl, Spritia's lifelong friend, you must ensure the safety of the surviving members of Rosenkreuzstilette, put an end to Schwarzkreuz and the Pope's oppression of the Magi, and bring Spiritia home...

GAME MODES
ARCADE MODE
For those who want less talk and more action, select "Arcade Mode" to automatically skip dialogue during story scenes. Press the Status button during a story scene to skip the scene altogether. Recommended for veterans who just want to have some fun.
STORY MODE
Select "Game Start" to enjoy Rosenkreuzstilette Freudenstachel in its entirety, with story sequences peppered throughout the game. Press the Confirm button to advance dialogue, and press the Status button to close the current dialogue box. Recommended for first-time players.
ACTIONS
Your basic actions are shoot, jump and slide.
LEARNING
By defeating a boss, Freudia can acquire new magic powers.
Some bosses are weak to certain types of magic.
You may be able to beat powerful bosses easily if you discover their weakness.
[Standard attack: Freudenstachel]
Hold down the shoot button to attack repeatedly with Freudenstachel.
You can also fire while sliding.
Freudenstachel has a magic gauge.
If this reaches 0, you will stop firing when holding down the shoot button.
Also, the speed of your successive shots will be greatly affected.

Together with the first Game, this is my favorite Mega Man Clone and one of my Favorite Mega Man Fangames, if you can call it that despite being an original Series.
The Good:

The Bad:
- Short Stages
The Game plays exactly like you want a Mega Man Game to be. The Controls are extremely smooth and responsive and just moving around feels really good. The Stages are super fun to go through and are a huge step up from the first Game, offering more Variety and Challenge, though they are still a bit too short and easy for my liking. However, there is also an Instant Death Mode that is really fun to play and adds the Challenge i desire.
The Bosses are the strongest Part of the Game. A huge step up from the first Game as well, and i already really liked those Bosses. They offer extremely fun Patterns that may seem intimidating at first, but are super fun to learn and master. They also have much less RNG than in the first Game. I definitely recommend trying them Buster Only, no E-Tanks or in Instant Death Mode to see their full Glory.
I just love this Game to death. The Movement makes it so fun to go through over and over again in combination with the great Visual Presentation and one of my favorite Soundtracks of all time, and also Characters that i have learned to love. In addition there is also a lot of replay value through doing Challenges like Buster Only, no E-Tanks, Instant Death Mode, or just try to go as fast as possible, and save your successful runs through the handy Replay System! And then you also get to play as another Character that plays like Zero. There was also a Zero like Character in the first Game, but it's Playstyle fits much better into the Level and Boss Design of this Game and it is my favorite way to play the Game!
If you like Mega Man, good Music or fun Characters, i recommend you give this Game a shot!

By far the best Mega Man Clone game.
its as good as first one but the password save system still sticks
In a lot of ways, Freudenstachel is similar to the prequel. It's a mix of Megaman (gameplay) and Castlevania (aesthetics) with a few references to other franchises thrown in (Ghouls 'n Ghosts, for example). It's also quite difficult (especially when using the unlockable extra character), so don't expect to fully beat this game unless you're willing to memorize the stages and boss patterns.
I 100%ed this game as well as the prequel - and I don't regret it because the controls are fluid and the graphics and music are great. If you're more of a casual gamer though, I'd recommend staying away from this duology.
The first game is a bit harder I think (part of the reason why I prefer it) but both of them are pretty good in my opinion. So if you're trying to get into Rosenkreuzstilette I'd actually recommend starting with Freudenstachel because it's more forgiving (for the most part, at least).

This game is a good fast Megaman clone! Enemies, structures and traps, come right from the original games.
That out the way, the game is HARD! It’s quicker so that makes it harder, I managed to get to all starting bosses, which then all of them proceed to kick my butt; and I can beat Megaman 1-6 bosses with booset alone.
I’ll keep trying!!
Update: thanks to some developer hints (stackable T tanks), now I managed to beat 10 stages! This game is very fun if you love the classic megaman games!
