This is a really cool, musical puzzle game. It has a chill feel.
Very nice atmosphere and attention to details, good puzzles.
Healing the animals and environment is a great extra motivation to see what's next. Would be awesome to be able to pet and/or play with them a bit at the end.
Currently, the extensible metal rails are a bit fiddly at times, and I got some rare reprojection when too much physics was running, I guess (i5 4590).
I think I prefer Grav Lab in terms of mechanics, but this one is certainly more aesthetic. Spooky fox but fun nonetheless!
I expected this game to be soothing and calming, but all the bugs make me want to trash my controllers on the wall, starting the game starting without sound (has to be started as admin, remove headset, turn screen on, click, turn off screen, put headset back on), and the ingame bugs.
I've played through about half of the included levels, and a couple community levels. I enjoy this game a lot, the art style lends a lot to making it feel fantastical, and it does a good job of making you feel clever while solving the puzzles, especially when it takes a lot of trial and error to get to a solution. There aren't a lot of cons, except the non-sale price point is a bit high, and there were a few performance issues with the game when a lot of graphical elements were on-screen. All in all, it is a very fun puzzle game, with a nice atmosphere. I wouldn't say it's a must-have VR title, but definitely get it if it's on sale.
I do love physics puzzle games, and currently this one is my favorite. The ball physics are smooth and reliable, and the surroundings are minamalistic, but pleasant. The standout on the surroundings is of course the animal whose attention you continually get more of as you solve puzzles. The items you use and interact with all have a decent amount of detail, nothing feels like placeholder art, unlike SO many VR games currently.
There are small touches that most devs just don't deal with, like "what happens when you get too close to an object"? In Awaken, it sort of melts away so you don't have it blocking your entire field of vision, yet you're completely aware that the object is still there. The spheres emit light that reacts beautifully with nearby objects, which helps everything feel more...real.
I purchased the game during a sale, when the devs released the second island, doubling the number of puzzles from 30 to 60. I'm quite pleased with the content for the price I paid, although the non-sale price is a bit steep for the two islands. When they add in a third, then yes, the full price would easily be justified. There's also a level-making area, but the devs are trying a LITTLE too hard to make the game text-free, and it's incredibly confusing. Hopefully they'll sort that area out later. Another VR game I love, Cloudlands Mingolf, thrives on its amazing level editor, and I'd love to see this game with piles of user-generated content as well.
I had fun playing this game, having the spirits in the background kept me wanting to help them thereby making me want to finish the next set of five or so puzzles. The carrot was delicious? Im glad I got to play this game but there was one really big drawback. My game froze up after having beaten 40 levels and when I got right back in I was on level 2.....OMFGADFKJSL. I dont know if there is a quick save option as you just go go go but if you find it, USE IT.
Sad I wont get to save the big cat, but I dont really want to play the same puzzles again if I might end up loosing my progress again.
Still recommend for a good time, I love physics puzzles apparently.
Using PSmoveService DIY roomscale setup here and Awaken is perfect for it. Nice and relaxing game, great atmosphere, have enjoyed the first few puzzles thoroughly and look forward to sitting down and playing a few levels after all the running around while playing some of the more stressful wave shooters. If you see this on special, definitely grab a copy.
I love this game. It's fun and challenging. The puzzles start out easy, but later ones will require some planning and creativity to solve.
The minimalist environment is nicely done and the music is relaxing. I love the Guardians, their movements make them seem very 'alive' and I actually care about freeing them.
If you like puzzles and physics, I recommend this game.
This game is fantastic! Very entertaining puzzler with some fun tools at your disposal. Haven't finished it yet but 70 minutes in and I'm looking forward to progressing. I guess I'll see if it auto saved as I didn't see an option to do so. Overall I'm pretty impressed so far.
*Oculus touch user here*
This is just an initial impressions post (thought it was best to post now since it's on sale). I just wanted to say that I'm impressed with this one, it's got some really nice game design and nice little touches (they make clipping into objects with your headset look neat). It's really nice; the surroundings, sounds and gameplay are pretty relaxing. I'm reminded of Crazy Machines with the rube goldberg style gameplay and Sound Shapes with the sounds that go with it. Another nice thing is that it runs really well, I don't have a GTX 1060 (yet...) so for now I'm stuck with a GTX770 and limited to what I can play but this runs well on that and not many games outside of AAA Oculus titles seem to.
Can't wait to play more when I can
The game was already brilliant, but the devs kept on adding some more things to enjoy...
Great game, and great team.
This game is amazing coming from someone who switched from the gear vr having loved Land's End. Its sounds and ambiance transport you into a world of color and you can feel free to get immmersed. The puzzles may be difficult in some cases but they are all solveable, and when I solved a puzzle that took me a while I found my self yelling at Travis (Yes, i did name the fox) that I did it. if you love old physics puzzlers and have a knack for a indie feel in a game I highly recommend this to you.
Really fun game to play and look around, i recommend this if you liked Fantastic Contraption. This game has the potential to be better and i hope will be better than it already is soon.
An immersive puzzler.
The concept is simple: get the ball in the hole. But the atmosphere and presentation is so polished that it feels like much more.
There's only 30 levels right now. But more are sure to come. I can't wait to see more content arrive.
Review updated following second major content release. Video review (and updated) available at end.
Was a bit scared buying due to the price, but I'm happy I did. Though it's a bit short at the moment.
Pros (Updated as of second content update):
Good atmosphere.
Nice VR experience.
Fun mechanics.
Sand-box style.
Very satisfying just watching your puzzle solution run if you take the time to make something interesting.
Difficulty increases over "main" levels, and more sadistic challenge levels on offer.
Content on good trajectory for value for money.
Cons (Updated as of second content update):
Overly minimalist design at times just feels lazy and unhelpful - still persists. A case of form over function still.
The music reference in description I feel is a bit misleading.

I really love this game with it's beautiful, simple graphics and enviroments. The sounds and music are great as well. The puzzles are fun and the later ones are tough and engaging, making you move around the whole space just to set up the puzzle just right. Every couple puzzles the enviroment changes, and, adds a new 'idea' to solve the puzzle. Very fun and I whole heartedly reccomend this, even if it's a bit steep. I cannot wait to see what the developers create. Put my money to good use!
Edit: (There are currently *2* enviroments, haven't finished the second one but the first was great!) :)
I like this game, but I can only really recommend it if you like games/experiences like Thumper, Redwood and Fantastic Contraption.
Yes, I like it, and I'm going to continue to play it, but in its current status, it didn't completely blow me away, and because of that, and because content is (currently) limited, I think the price is a bit too high. I know that the team is going to add more puzzles, but I hope they will be in different environments as well. So far I've only seen the (minimal) world where the game begins, and then a forest where the puzzles are located.
The forest reminds me of Redswood VR, meaning an arty, minimal forest created with Unity (I think). I like these kind of graphics, but it's not for everyone.
The music is a similar concept as Thumper (which I also like) : your actions define more or less (part of) the music, so if you get a part of the puzzle right, you continue and you hear extra sound added to the music.
The gameplay reminds me of Fantastic Contraption and Bounce, although it seems like this game is made more by artists, and less by engineers, if that makes any sense :)
And now the big question... do I recommend it? Well, I certainly do recommend it if you like the referenced games I mentioned. If you don't like any of them, then you probably won't like this one. And if you like some of them, well... then you'll just have to try it out. :)
