Ah, pavlov a classic. I had quite a few hours on my quest 2 standalone, and it was pretty fun! Pavlov shack was free, fun, and I had a few laughs while doming kids or befriending some chill guys. I longed to play something like this again with the PC version. Even looking at the reviews, I decided to ignore them since I didn't mind the removal of mods. Some mods are actually supported, but quite a few got the boot. I didn't mind that either. The quest 2 standalone didn't have (if any) mods, and I still had a lot of fun.

However, there is a very very big problem currently.

Little Timmy decided looked at a mod,cheat, or whatever the hell method they use to significantly tear down recoil. Quite literally, the machine gun is the worst weapon to ever exist. You start spraying and praying, and the gun's intended use is to shoot in close quarters. Me and a teammate were so far, it'd take a couple shots to hit us long distance, and this person would dome us (with a machine gun) every single time. Even spectating this dude, you can def tell there was absolutely NO recoil.

I'm not sure if it's a mechanic to be exploited or whatever, but this game needs a rework. If you're a casual player, you'd probably have more fun playing contractors. It's not that I'm terrible at shooters, but I manage to top myself on the leader-board every now and then in contractors. In pavlov, it happens every single time


Heed my warning and a different vr shooter. There are other games that update the game more frequently than this bullshit.

(I also did a terrible mistake in buying games in bulk. I had three games I had to refund because they're terrible. Praying steam might refund this shitty unchanged product.

They abandoned mods for cross play with PlayStation; the very thing that made up the games player base and community. I thought it was bad with the UE5 upgrade which broke mods, but now they totally removed them. Very sad and unacceptable! Not worth the money.

Not worth playing anymore, the latest update ruined everything fun about this game. The game itself was the most underwhelming part to enjoy, but the mods made it so much fun. I could have spent hours playing countless maps downloaded from the workshop, but now everything is gone, player base is gone, mods don't work, and you cant even host your own coop lobby anymore to play more than 1 map of zombies. Until they put it back, not worth more the $2.

Do not recommend, devs have 0 respect to a small remaining community, make changes that nobody asks for that ruin game and then ignore community outcry. Apart from Push which seems to be carried entirely by the community, everything else feels dead and it will only get worse.

game was good, had great potential and a fun game play loop, even with its price, although, now, you have to pay for in game skins, cross play is bad and modding is even worse, the game is not fun anymore and for some reason, a paid game is asking for micro transactions, such as 15 AUD for 3 skins, which mind you, are for specific guns and not universal, in an already 36 dollar VR game, micro transactions are unacceptable, there are far better and more fun multiplayer shooters, try Contractors, or literally any other shooter, because there is no way this game is going to get any better.

Killed by crossplay, was the first FPS VR game I played back in 2017 and so unfortunate to see them turn their back on an established community just to try and earn a few extra bucks.

Fuck weapon skins. Hell, why not add player skins? For the sake of completionism, Vankrupt might as well follow in the shit-smeared footsteps left behind by the recent CoD entries. I think we need Nicki Minaj, Boykisser, and Deadpool, since we're clearly set on adding pointless, unrealistic, terrible cosmetics.
What do you all think? Personally, I think we should also add horses to the game so that Vankrupt can sell horse armor to us.

They removed what made the game fun: Custom Mods.
Instead of improving the mod compatibility and simplicity to install the mods,
they thought it would be a better idea to focus on MICROTRANSACTIONs and MONETIZATION.

Just started playing vr again after 2 years, this game is changing in a worrying direction as this was my COD/CSGO for VR, if things continue ill probably jump ship to a different game like this

I've been looking forward to have my VR again and apparently in my absence Vankrupt Games decided they wanted to take a new direction and become Bankrupt Games by tanking their game's enjoyability.

Another game ruined by greed. Used to be one of my favorite VR games, thanks to the community workshop content, but since that is all removed there will be nothing to make this game stand out anymore.

i really loved this game, especially the ww2 push maps and the scp maps xd they went away with the addon of crossplay with quest, then the game was only fun with friends going against each other, but now they added skins xd it feels now more like a cashgrab then the game i loved so much the game i started up the moment i had a few hours i could play a game, im sorry for this downvote, but the addon of the skins made me lose all respect for this game, i hope i can get some friends to play a few matches and talk about the past and then forget the game for a few months.

this game was the csgo and the gmod of vr then they killed the steam workshop which was a spit right into the face of all the the community developers who were actually making all the content. and with the community devs gone it's players went with it, then the vankrupt added micro-transactions just in case people were holding out hope they would actually make their game good again. this game is dead don't buy this game can only get worse, used to be the king, now its dead

Can't recommend because of the direction the game is going. Everything that was fun about this game is long gone. the cod zombies, the minecraft zombie maps, the halo zombies, star wars zombies, the ttt maps, the prop hunt maps, all gone. if Nabiil didn't keep his map updated this game would have been added to my junk game list when the ue5 update came out. Now paid micro transactions and skins? No thanks. Don't know how the Devs are going to dig themselves out of this but they better start shoveling quick.

It's sad how out of touch the developers of this game have gotten.
What was once a thriving community of modding and content creation began to dry up due to lack of content being added to the game. Then, in an attempt to "bring the players back" they ported the game to UE5, which nuked all existing mods. Then to make matters worse, they finally did release skins as promised, but locked behind a paywall.

This is not how to treat your community, especially not a community built around modding your game.

this game has been 'dead' for quite a while now and has less than (on average) 300~ people playing
this has been the case for a while now due to the devs killing the modding scene
the game WILL feel very empty if you decide to play
additionally, as an insult the devs put in microtransactions as if that's gonna bring anybody into the game

you should have played this game around 3 to 2 years ago as the community and modding scene was much more alive.
it is not worth playing today as the game feels empty and hollow with the lack of players and the lack of modded maps.
to all my fellas that i played with before the nuking of mods it was fun playing with stupid maps like tornado time and (forgot the name but it involves one team trying to kill the other team with trucks,clowns involved :D )
however due to the nuking of mods, many fun and goofy game mods are simply not available to play because the devs of the mods didnt bother to fix them or werent able to fix them to the new standards
im afraid we wont ever be able to experience the goofy fun of those stupid maps ever again, as the newest update shows how little the devs care about modding features and instead want to milk the game dry as much as possible before the playerbase completely dies out

I'll be honest, the gameplay is genuinely fun, especially with friends. It feels like a VR version of CS:GO.


However, no support should be shown for anything that kills its modding scene just to implement micro transactions no one asked for. Do better.

"You will never pay for skins" is what we were told four years ago when they destroyed local skin modding and said they were going to make their own system. We're now forced to pay for skins. Updates are too far and between for people waiting for bug fixes or new content.

The game is literally split up between PCVR, Quest, and PSVR. Crossplay is a thing yes, but only for base maps, which this game was not built on. The steam workshop made it easy for people to play custom maps and get them, but now if you play on any kind of crossplay lobby, good luck. The chances you even find a lobby with people that you'd be willing to join (anything over 4 people) is exceedingly rare given the player count at time of writing is 250. Last year, the highest peak was 606 PC players. It's dropped by nearly two thirds.

This game is not what it used to be. It's not going to return to what it used to be, especially with how little Bankrupt, sorry I mean Vankrupt, does for their own game. Go play Contractors or Breachers or Onward.

This game is the equivalent to loosing a loved one to alzheimer's. This game raised me and got me into vr, gave me hours upon hours of memories and fun, I've met some of the coolest people on here and now... The game is just an old man sitting in a wheelchair staring outside the nursing home, rambling occasionally about the good old days and false memories that never happened, and every once and a while you come to visit in hopes that they might be okay enough just to remember your name, but instead, I arrive to a living breathing corpse. I met the dev once, for 5 minutes, didn't say much except thank him for creating a game I gained so much joy from. But now, I don't hate him, I'm just sad a titan die from kneecaping itself, the modding community is what carried this game from day one, and killing it is like a NBA player removing his legs for wind resistance. Like sure you have less mass but you can't play the game cause you ain't got no legs. To all those I met over the years, to all the memories and joy you've given me in my darkest hours of need, I thank you. But to davevillz and Vankrupt, you lit the neatly made bed on fire, so don't be surprised when we don't lay in it. R.I.P. Pavlov, take your rest champ you've earned it.

It used to be THE VR game. Like, if you had any capabilities to play VR, this was the game you HAD to have downloaded. The mods were phenomenal, it was basically Garry's Mod in VR with working RP and jailbreak servers to boot. Then they screwed up the modding and nearly over night killed the game. Since then, all they have managed to do was port the game to a new engine that completely killed performance, and add in micro-transactions. In a reverse Midas touch, they turned gold to garbage, and it's an absolute travesty.

Used to be the best VR game until they nuked it by removing the best features and lowering the overall quality for support on other platforms. They killed their own community then decided to add MTX to a VR game because why not. This is one of the saddest things I've seen happen to a game that brought so many great memories.

Get these coins outta here, man. Adding microtransactions while the game is still plagued by optimization issues is NOT the way to go.

This used to be THE VR Counter-Strike. It was great. It really pioneered VR shooters and set an example for the rest. It had a modding scene. It had Steam Workshop. More than 1000 consecutive players.
Now?
It quietly exited early access. It no longer has a Steam Workshop. It no longer has even close to a thousand consecutive players. What it does have, now, is microtransactions.
It's sad to see the way the wind is blowing in the VR industry. It's hard to fault devs for slowly othering and abandoning PCVR as they start focusing on their favourite child from Meta instead. Like many others, these devs are focusing on their Quest version. It's not the first time, and it won't be the last time. At the same time, as PCVR player who's been an early adopter of games like this, it's also hard not to feel slighted when this happens once again. It's like watching dominoes fall.
I've witnessed many dying gasps in the VR scene, but this one really is especially sad to see.

Oh yes, microtransactions for a vr PTP game. Devs are trying to make cs like system, but they are forgetting, that cs has trading and market. That update will not help surpass 500 players, but rather lower the subcount even more

Contractors is like this game but not dead. A living modding community thats not actively being tortured by its devs. And has dev's that actually care for the game instead of using it for money.
So go play contractors instead

Once upon a time this was my favorite VR title. The New Mombasa Halo "Zombie Flood" map, as well as all the remakes of the COD Nazi Zombie maps were absolutely fantastic.

The devs have since killed that facet of the game with a lackluster update to add crossplay. Mod authors are unlikely to update their content due to the difficulty presented by the new update, and as a result, the game lost nearly all of its appeal for me. And I am not alone.

New laptop, running it through the VR wringer, figured I'd see how this game fared. Not much left here, and I mean both in content and player base. The lack of players on top of the lack of content makes this game feel empty, despite the fantastic gun play.

This game was a foundation, and the modders really built on it. Then the devs pulled the plug.

Pavlov is finished. It was fun, I hope to see the zombie and Halo maps back, but this long after the "Great Disappointment," I think its time to accept the fact that this game is a shell of what it was, and shows no sign of improvement.

Devs, it is truly incredible how badly you screwed this one up. All you had to do was make like Bethesda and let the modders cook.

Before the update this game was amazing. Hundreds of players, so much community maps. After the update, they added cross play and that's what killed the experience. Now the game is a ghost town. This game had so much potential if it focused only on PC. But the devs got greedy for money and wanted to push it to console... sealing its fate in the coffin.

So basically, this game was amazing. Now? Don't even waste your money.

I swear the devs rework "features" only because some cracked players put the dick down on them. I can't put Picatinny rail accepted sights on a Picatinny rail? Why does the .50 cal sniper not accept a simple red dot sight? Stupid bullshit. They reworked the recoil/gunplay to a point where it's unplayable unless you have a physical stock to work with. I swear to god the simulated stock doesn't help at all. It looks like I have parkinson's disease. This game truly is worthless at this point.

It's okay. The guns and the overall feel of the game is decent, but lacking compared to other games like HHH. I don't particularly enjoy the multiplayer, but the real reason I am writing this review is because they stopped supporting previous versions of the game, which completely ruined the steam workshop and all of the custom maps.

Removing the legacy beta is the most retarded move they could have done to fuck over the entire community.
Codz was the only thing making me play this mediocre game but now we cant play any of the hundreds / thousands of workshop maps anymore because of the devs sheer incompetence.

All good maps were removed, its essentially a watered down version of what it once was. There's really no point wasting money on something so bland. You'd be better off erping with Mr Romber if you're that bored.

Ever since the update the unreal 5, this game has been total garbage. All of the interesting maps were deleted and now we have buggy maps that crash the game when launched. The game is essentially dead with no more than around 10 servers daily. Why even switch to unreal 5? the game is the exact same but without all the things that make it fun.

This was basically abandoned for the quest port which isn't free anymore. to get meta kids to buy their ripoff cod points for boring knife skins.

The core gameplay mechanics of Pavlov are solid enough that it's still worth trying, even after the developers pushed out an unnecessary engine upgrade and removed the steam workshop, which together practically killed off the custom mapping scene entirely. This game peaked years ago before those changes were made. Despite this, Pavlov is still a good game to pick up if you're looking for a solid VR multiplayer FPS experience.

Man I was really looking to get back into VR and playing this again, but it looks like the Devs nuked the game by destroying the workshop which was 90% of the reason to play this game. Don't spend your money on it,

The only reason I played was because of steam workshop. As it stands its basically a CSGO knock off in VR. Wouldn't recommend for free.
