So Greedy. They have a downloading station on their website yet if you don't pay, you get 5kb/s downloading speed. Seriously?!?!?! We are in 2025 and you still get 5kb/s. Guys, act like you are normal human being ok???

Need worrying to tall people, this is a money pit. It's a joke. Hard to fine a game to play with friends.

I was a fan of Trainz for many years. I created a few in depth routes and purchased content both from Auran and 3rd parties over the years. It was for sure a memorable investment of my time. I would say I have put easily over 5000 hours into all the games combined. This was even before Steam existed.

However, I find myself WANTING to play the game, but feeling that it is much too glitchy and obscure to invest my time into. In this age of software, the engine seems to have not been able to keep up with change. It is often difficult finding the right track elements, and objects which used to be freely available are now payware - ruining old creations. It is a bit of a disheartening thing, when you invested so much time into creating something. Now my son is old enough to appreciate trains, and I wanted to show him the route I built. But no - it is so broken, I won't be able to fix it.

It is bad, when I think I could likely code my own game to accomplish what I want out of this game, easier than it would be to recreate what I made in the past, in the current game.

That being said, the driving experience is fun. And the pre built routes are very nicely done. Just sad to see this become a bulky, overly complicated - pay to win (or pay to play) platform if you want to create anything yourself.

Pros: Great game, Great route building features, If you can model and script you can create your own assets like locomotives and railcars, Tons of 3rd party mods you can buy and download.

Cons: You need a really good computer, environment effects could be better, Unmoderated Itrainz Chat.

Overpriced much better train games out there than this graphics are showing there age.

This game has many bugs and design issues on Mac that can make a player wonder if it is professonally developed and sold software, not just a piece of freeware/shareware.
There is a decent graphic and a lot of content. Although many pieces of this content are hugely overpriced.

If you run it on Mac, be prepared for occasional restart you computer in a manual way as the software may hang not itself with OS. It is sensible to purchase this software only with 75% or more discount to get a good value for money. This review about 2019 version. 2022 version crashed on Mac and was refunded.

A promising simplified train driving piece of software, teaching the basic rules of driving and inertia, whilst avoiding the complexity of multiple cab controls and safety devices.

Software is let down by freezing at various times. eg Tutorial 5, getting stuck on a map page and then becoming stuck both on the test track and later whilst manoeuvring a large steam locomotive.

Additionally, it proved difficult to find a scenario to play because the software kept directing me to purchasable items. Luckily I found that there were sufficient glitches already, to avoid throwing good money after bad.
Therefore not recommended to anyone and uninstalled forthwith.
