i like train and this helps with addiction to train so very good game
Good starting Trains Simulator demo
I am not really into trains as such, but always had a soft spot for them having grown up with brothers and we had train sets and Scalextric cars (these were the very original simulators for us kids in the 80s!). And I watched Thomas Tank haha! But whenever I have played these kind of games I usually just use them to make insane tracks and try and crash them. But wow, was blown away by TS24, really detailed and you feel like your actually there. I am really enjoying this and had no issues so far. Steam gave me a handful of DLC with the base game so plenty to do until I decide to purchase some more locos and routes. I would recommend :)
I brought this game around 3 years ago and the general game is worth it however, I don't think having to pay so much money for the game and then have to spend a lot more to get your own routes and trains is very good. I do think the actual game is good though and a worth while purchase, although I don't recommend all of the Dovetail Games DLCs as quite a lot of them are not the best. Some I would recommend are the Portsmouth Direct Line London Waterloo - Portsmouth Harbour, East Coast Mainline South London to Peterbourgh, and the South Western Mainline Southampton to Bournmouth.
There are many 3rd Party places where you can pick up some much better quality routes, trains, and enhancement packs, such as Armstrong Powerhouse, and Justtrains who both make high quality trains, and routes with Armstrong Powerhouse making some excellent Enhancement Packs.
Overall I would definitely recommend the game, but be careful with what DLCs you are purchasing and do research on them before to make sure you are getting what you want for your money and if its worth it.

Even tho i have nearly 3 days on this game since i got it the reason for that is mainly the issues with the game
A not rendering stuff
B Crashing on UIs
And i really want to play the game there are other train games out there that are WAY more optimized and have more usability than this game and they are cheaper Like nearly 50 bucks for a DLC is a bit much when you also have to add in the fact you may have to Upgrade your Pc to use them
Tho The rail fan scenarios are Also Absolutely broken since the Trains that require DLC Wont load unless you buy them
Tho what makes It realy weird is i Bought the entire Sherman hill collection on steam And they still dont load
Like yah i get having to buy DLC to USE the trains for mission but to buy them to See the AI ones is A bit of a Dumb idea
The game is still filled with bugs. You can't tab out to other screens without it crashing half the time. The settings and menu are terribly setup making it confusing, and laggy. The game is okay when things actually work, but its absurd to expect that im going to spend on money towards the $14,000 of DLC when its probably going to be buggy and broken. Also, 20$ for a loco but it doesn't include maps or missions? You have to be kidding me. Lastly, the loco graphics are decent but nothing compared to train sim world, and the environment graphics are low quality and lazy, especially for how much money they want you to spend. Dovetail in my opinion is a 3/10 developer.
This is the closest sim of driving modern locomotives I have ever seen.

One of the most realistic train simulators to date, lots of detailed DLC from steam and external sources, especially DLC that comes from Precision Loco Developments and Armstrong Powerhouse
Really great game, unfortunately ruined by stability issues...nothing hurts more than being two hours into a career run, only to find out the game is no longer accepting keyboard input, or even better, crashes to desktop. Would be fantastic if it was more reliable.

If you want to play driving trains, its good. If that's not your thing, look elsewhere.
Great Game to play if you love Train Simulators.
Most like the steam engines rather than the passenger type trains. A good learning experience and the closest one can get to the real thing

$30 isn't really worth it if your gonna gut the content that was on the original version of TS back from 2015 version Sherman hill and a few other routes and locomotives were included as part of the BASE game when the physical was available for purchase in stores as well with the digital version was available at the time as well. Now the original locomotives and routes are DLC now. The hell happened in the company to make that decision its 25% of the original game gone behind as paywall? Even the few "DLC`s" are in a subscription which is completely pointless cash grab. Hours may seem low because steam decided to delete my original steam account which has the physical copy of the game from 2015 when the game wasn't gutted to its current state. Decided to buy and play to remember my childhood and yet a game that i loved went inti a bad direction.

Brilliant game worth recommending especially with Armstrong Powerhouse packs if you are in the UK some routes aren't brilliant. But as I'm a Train Spotter best Train Sim out there not so much graphics but gameplay brilliant. 10/10
i love the game
This game is genuinly one of the best games i have ever played. It reminds me of old games i used to play on my old pc with the disks 10 yrs ago and they were some of fav childhood memories. Recommend and a must buy for any train fans like myself

It's gorgeous, sometimes frustrating, but still the #1 train simulation overall due to the seemingly infinite content available, as pay- or freeware.
Build your own library, create your own content, discover enhancement packs that make this game a joyful experience. It's a universe, and its vast DLC library offers something for everyone, something that's likely not to happen again in any other simulation.
I have spent nearly 10,000 hours on this game and can give a definite recommendation.

its fun and realistic
Despite being a decent game. It tends to crash no matter what settings I've got. My PC specs are well above minimum. Have a few realism gripes as well but if you don't care about 100% realism. Play it.
