$30 isn't really worth it if your gonna gut the content that was on the original version of TS back from 2015 version Sherman hill and a few other routes and locomotives were included as part of the BASE game when the physical was available for purchase in stores as well with the digital version was available at the time as well. Now the original locomotives and routes are DLC now. The hell happened in the company to make that decision its 25% of the original game gone behind as paywall? Even the few "DLC`s" are in a subscription which is completely pointless cash grab. Hours may seem low because steam decided to delete my original steam account which has the physical copy of the game from 2015 when the game wasn't gutted to its current state. Decided to buy and play to remember my childhood and yet a game that i loved went inti a bad direction.

Brilliant game worth recommending especially with Armstrong Powerhouse packs if you are in the UK some routes aren't brilliant. But as I'm a Train Spotter best Train Sim out there not so much graphics but gameplay brilliant. 10/10
i love the game
This game is genuinly one of the best games i have ever played. It reminds me of old games i used to play on my old pc with the disks 10 yrs ago and they were some of fav childhood memories. Recommend and a must buy for any train fans like myself

It's gorgeous, sometimes frustrating, but still the #1 train simulation overall due to the seemingly infinite content available, as pay- or freeware.
Build your own library, create your own content, discover enhancement packs that make this game a joyful experience. It's a universe, and its vast DLC library offers something for everyone, something that's likely not to happen again in any other simulation.
I have spent nearly 10,000 hours on this game and can give a definite recommendation.

Despite being a decent game. It tends to crash no matter what settings I've got. My PC specs are well above minimum. Have a few realism gripes as well but if you don't care about 100% realism. Play it.

I picked this game up in 10 minutes and immediately enjoyed it, there tutorials for stopping at starting are far better then anything else I have experienced. 100% Recommend
Train Sim Classic is one of the best games and I would highly recommend to new players.
Lets be honest this is what i think about the game: 1. the price is way too much for game that has nothing in it 2. optimilization its really bad its running on some old engine it crashes and its slow 3. the graphics.... just look at it and again its for 30euro so i expect it to be good 4. the huge plus is that there are lot of 3rd party creators which make lot of content in the game and dovetail makes lot of things in it too but overpriced the pluses in this game are like there you can make ur own tracks easily u can make scenarios u can do anything u want and another huge plus is u can make the graphics better by buying rw enhancer which is pricey too but its good that u can even customise the graphics cuz theyre awful and another really huge plus is the realism if u want really realistic train sim this is for u it basically dont have competitors and thats all bye (btw u can download lot of tracks locos and textures on internet) hope this helps bye:)
What is with this game? The throttle sucks. Pure and simple, maybe I'm missing a better way to control the throttle than the on-screen control, but it gets stuck at a certain percentage,and unless I raise or lower it by more than roughly 10%, it jumps back to where it was. There's no fine control of the throttle.
I took a subscription out to test out the Soldier Summit route. Maybe there's a keyboard shortcut for the throttle that fixes this but I wanted to stop playing get a refund and maybe I'll buy the game on sale in November.
Because here's the main reason I returned this, and I'd only pay maybe $5-10 for the game and any DLC I want:
In Trainz I can have the game on one screen and work on the other screens while I keep an eye on things. This is critical that I can get stuff done while I run Trainz.
But no, when I click on another screen in Train Sim Classic 2024 on the Soldier Summit Route, I see the game disappear and half the time it crashes.
Maybe it's my video setup I'm on a MSI Pulse GL 76 with a "3060 laptop" video card. I do run a USB to HDMI adaptor for a third screen, so maybe this game has issues with something in my system. It seems to get decent reviews otherwise. I just find this issue makes the game unplayable, I rarely focus my full attention on train sims.
And fwiw I can run a wide variety of other games like a couple pinball games, several train sims / economic sims, American and Euro truck simulator, and more, none of those games have this issue with my computer.
I do have to say I thought the quality of the graphics was excellent! But unfortunately, the "Provo Amtrak station" looked nothing like the actual location, and none of the nearby buildings or properties looked remotely like the actual buildings at that location.
They do an OK job of capturing the Soldier Summit route, as far as I saw it. I only got down to Mapleton/Spanish Fork before I got frusrated with the game and asked for a refund.
I will try to get this again if it's on a real super sale in November, for now it's back to Trainz and Railroad Empire 2.

Great game, comes with many dlcs (all quite expensive). Realism is ok, it could be way better though.
It doesn't look good, performance sucks, tutorials suck. You'll be searching the internet trying to figure out how to play the game. It's work and frustration.
I am in a model train club and have been working on my operations certificate. The program is very helpful for practicing that skill set. Very realistic and also very much fun to operate.
Kindly update the graphics and make it directx12 compatible or else its not worth purchasing in 2024. according to graphics

This game has been released for more than 15 years. But yet, there are still broken achievements. Many achievements can't be achieved and it's a waste of money and time buying all those DLCs without the ability to "fully 100% complete" the game.
Devs team, please prioritize resources in fixing broken achievements please.

Great Train Simulation and what I like is the variety of Freight Trains available. Unlike TSW this one has alot of US freight trains, which is nice and what I mostly buy.
add a livery editor to do it manually is so painful and un user friendly. other than that this game is alright

I like the flexibility of the game, how you can change everything and make your own content. It is great if you like railways. There is also a lot of free add on content and payware.
По традиции, в обновлениях игры обновляется только год в названии) А так, дополнений мало, так как разработчикам не предоставлен адекватный инструментарий для этого, оптимизация очень средняя.
Зато пару лет назад перевели игру на 64 бит, чтобы она использовала больше 2 ГБ ОЗУ и видеопамяти и не вылетала на маршрутах с большим количеством объектов.
