A hardcore, open-world survival sandbox set in a post-apocalyptic world where players must scavenge, craft, fortify and fight to survive against hordes of infected and other players. Scenarios let you choose your zombie apocalypse story and difficulty.
Zombies
Zombies are slower and more docile during the day. When the sun sets they become alert, aggressive and are out on the hunt.
Vehicle Fortifications
Vehicles are fully fortifiable. Cover windows and add strength to gain the advantage. Attach a plow or lights to make your vehicle the ultimate survival machine.
Structure Fortifications
Every structure is fortifiable! Plank windows, doors and place free placed barricades to secure any structure.
Mobile Homes
Don’t want to live in a structure? No problem. Find an RV or similar vehicle and take your base with you. Cook, sleep and store your items in your mobile base.
Placement & Storage
Settle into your new home by using pegboards, player storage and blueprints to put your stamp on the place. Physically place your items in the world to make your perfect survival hideout.
Zombie Hordes
Hordes increase in difficulty over time. Challenging even the best players to progressively make their base stronger and better protected. The harder the horde, the bigger reward.
Nutrition & Hydration
Cook over an open fire or directly on a stove to manage your calorie and hydration needs. Maintaining your player vitals will increase your overall strength and carrying capacity over time.
Mental Health System
The mental health system discourages the "Kill On Sight" mentality, promoting alliances for better survival against the zombie threat. While PVP is still a factor, players have ways to correct a negative mental state.
Hunting
Sick of baked beans? Head out into the wilderness to hunt for larger animals.
Crafting & Inventory
Simplified text-based inventory and crafting allows us to greatly expand on in-game items and crafting possibilities.
Blueprints
Blueprints let you visualize your free-placed fortifications before you build them. Layout your base and build it as you gather materials.
Weapon Customization
Weapon attachments let you customize your gun and get it just right for your play style.
Traps
Use traps to get the upper hand. Traps can give you the edge when zombies or raiders arrive.
Vehicle Maintenance
Every vehicle is repairable. Engine and wheel parts are required to get a vehicle running. Items can be stored in trunks and on truck beds.
Electrical System
Powering a structure can provide light to make nighttime activities easier. Some structures also require electricity to power interior and exterior doors.
Farming
When food stores start to run out, turn to farming for your calorie needs. Protect your crops indoors under light or grow them outside in the warmer months to produce food that will last through winter.
Zombie Numbers
Optimizations allow the game to handle massive amounts of zombies. They might be slow but numbers can really get the better of you.
Server Hosting & Solo Play
Simple game hosting that uses steam relays. There’s no need to port forward. Simply choose your settings and start playing.

Browse through official and community-made scenarios to find your perfect zombie experience.
Customizable Experience
Can’t find your perfect scenario? With over 100 configuration options, you can set things up just how you like them. Once you’re done, you can upload your world save to the Steam workshop for others to enjoy.

Explore the different points of interest to find valuable location-specific loot.
Weather & Seasons
The weather is dynamic including all four seasons along with seasonal vegetation and foliage.
Day & Night Objectives
Spend your days preparing to survive the onslaught at night. Zombies are more aggressive and alert when the sun goes down.
Day Objectives: During the day, focus on resource gathering and fortification. Fell trees, craft planks, engage in hunting and trapping. Collect loot, food, and fortify a structure. Ensure doors and containers are locked, fuel generators, and prepare power systems. Keep your health up by lighting fires, crafting bandages, and gearing up for the night.
Night Objectives: At night, prioritize safety and stealth. Team up with friends in a secured structure, favor melee over firearms to stay quiet. Activate generators, power up structures, set traps, and cook meals indoors on wood stoves. The key is to survive until morning.
Steam Achievements
If achievements are your thing, we’ve got you covered. With almost 100 achievements, you’ll be busy for some time. Can you ‘Choke a Chicken’?
Plans for Future Updates
Expand electrical systems - This will include electrical traps, house alarms, heating systems, working stoves, more lighting in towns and roadways, light towers, functioning water pumps (water tied to power).
Expanding weapons - New weapons and improved handling.
Additional vehicles - Expanding on “mobile survival” such as adding box trucks, trailers and light aircraft.
Fishing - Spend your days shore side with a line in the water, if you think it’s safe.
Character customization - A full scale character customization feature including the implementation of a female character
Expand on STN+ and Workshop - This includes more furniture, structure painting, holiday lights and decorations, proper Steam workshop implementation and working arcade’s with API.
Grouping system - Players can join a grouping system with friends.
Island wide community missions and events - Come together to clear out larger structures. Band together and share your loot to repair the power station and provide the entire island with power.

Solid game, just keep updating and making it better.
Tried to do the tutorial got clean clothes was never able to craft them into bandages it just kept crafting sleeping bags
Well, got it on sale and had a few hours of fun, so I gotta give it thumbs up for the price. However, it's a bit of a disappointment for how long it's been in early access. I expect a heck of a lot more content by now both in quantity and quality. There are 3 animals and very little variation on the zombies. Sure, some run faster but I didn't encounter anything special. Of course, I only played solo PVE so maybe that limited my experience. The vehicle system is nice but the devs need to give the core game play more love. Get it on sale and game on!
Welp.. thought I found a good replacement for 7 Days to Die but god was I wrong. There's a reason why it's still in early access, and honestly? It should stay there.
-Game hard locks you out of tutorial quest if you dont spend your talent points right, making it so you cant craft things
-God awful UI and inventory is just a list of items rather than anything with images.
-If you log off mid session, you also better kiss your progress goodbye because you cant save and it'll teleport you back to the "starter home". The other
-Standing near a random fire heals you
-Looting is absolutely abysmal and you can just randomly pick up anything (including a couch?)
-You cant run and melee/shoot at the same time
-Hunger, Water are hidden in game making you have to constantly press F to show it
-Barren wasteland of map with very little to take in. (no wildlife or zombies to be found outside of small city
-Horrible optimization, running on a 4080 super, I was still getting frame stuttering and map generation took forever to load at times.
I could go on, but within just an hour, there were enough issues that just made me not want to continue. I dont really recommend this anytime soon. Hopefully they get their stuff together before GTA6.
I don't consider myself autistic, but if I was, I'd be diagnosable exclusively on the fact that I continue to buy these forever-early-access-zombie-survival-crafters and expect anything more than the most tasteless and bland gameplay out there.
I'm sure I'm just seeking the feeling of playing Project Zomboid for the first time ever.
You'd be marginally better off playing 7 Days to Die, or just about any other half functional zombie game out there. Whatever's cheapest.
Better yet, do yourself a favor and play Project Zomboid.
first person is scary as hell but after a while its fun. Theres some basic things that i wish would be a thing like jumping out of the window or cutting yourself if you punch glass but its really fun to play.
Its buggy at times but fun cant wait too see how this game look when its fully done

But 20 bucks? Yeah its not even slightly polished enough to demand that much money.
I loved this game at first. it's been a year since i have played it and coming back there is changes that I do not like so i have uninstalled the game after only a hour of playing and have no intentions on going back to it because I do not like level and experience reset every time you die. I like to be reckless and be crazy about things so it had removed any fun i had because it forces me to be careful. The glitches and game breaking caused me less frustration than this.
If an option is added to disable that i'll change this review with the things i like but i've read it's a
core feature and probably won't be able to which is BS because it wasn't a factor before.
Definitely recommend to anyone that’s a fan of this style of zombie survival crafting, can’t stop playing it.
This game has brought me hope in the survival and apocalyptic games as the game-play is very fair and the customisation in the menu is not too much nor too little, id recommend this game for people who love the lone wolf type of style, but would be great as a duo or a team, there is a lot of hard work and time needed to be put into the game if the settings is set fairly.
Ran into small bugs like the zombies having a little more reach than the character but i guess that's just the hit boxes being weird and the small lag spikes going fast in cars, i also saw a purple line in the supermarket building in one of the door frames in the town Sage Creek, also as a personal opinion id love to see some animations in with the character when interacting with vehicles and maybe instead of a 2D journal we could possibly have a book animation that we take out of our bag.
Overall tho i still enjoy this game even on my own, love the aspects and i will continue to support this game in the upcoming updates.
I just gotta leave a review for this game, is it a perfect game? no, but the game is receiving constant and significant updates showing the devs truly care for the game, i cant wait to see what they add next.

Not worth it in my opinion. i have tried to play this game a few playthroughs now and i always end up quitting due to a game bug or just the game running poorly. Driving around in a vehicle causes a ton of lag and i have a 3090 so that shouldnt be the case at all. hitting anything in your vehicle causes the collision to go insane and you often get stuck on zombies in the middle of the road. Id love to see this game get some love and care but the poor performance and excessive glitches make the game unenjoyable. I recommend going with DAYZ or arma epoch mod if you are looking for a zombie game. 7 days to die is a great game too.

I didn't think this game would be this fun when I first saw it I was spectacle, with everything looking all cheap thinking it was me staying in one place with relentless hordes but I was wrong, mostly positive reviews are right , I would say this game is the best zombie game ever created this should be a case study on what to do for a zombie game, yet don't get me wrong this game got flaws like Car physics, UI, game physics, there was a time I couldn't grab a gun off a workbench or food on the shelf. I love this game Its simple realism that makes me come back and the fact that I can change my play style is great this game is the example of the games cooking pot just putting every little bit of food you saved up into the pot and some how getting the 5 star dining achievement and I love the dev most would take what they have a run never come back but they seem to keep updating the game
Underrated game, actual realistic zombie apocalypse game unlike tryhard games like dayz etc
Good game, still needs a bit of development but for now I recommend it, there are a few bugs like cars disappearing after leaving the game or when getting out of the car it teleports you a bit further than the car but still a game worth its price. I can recommend it !
Yea its cool but holy f**k are tools hard to find, i got an ar15 and fully decked it out before i even found a wrench.
For the £8 it is now its really good fun, i wouldn't say its worth the asking price of £16 for me Right now in development, but that's just me being picky about features, like: the lack simple storage system and mainly just "hold E" until a object is gone, maybe having to actually deconstruct furniture and other things and the lack of storage containers, i find them really rare, but systems like Tetris style ones in games like Tarkov, rust and more would be class, the almost arcadey' fighting, i was craving a proper Fighting melee system but they are hard to create which i understand but like swords with nice mechanics and how they interact with the environment, and the lack of difference in zombies, i felt like i saw the same models over and over again, however i'm pretty sure this is an indie game and i feel like the developer is KILLING it, yes the updates are still coming and i cant wait to see this game flourish, some positives are that i absolutely love the building, placing planks on windows and other things however the crafting system is a little boring and the UI is stale, it works and i cant really complain... i'm not sure if the developer is open to this much feedback but i feel like these refinements would send the game-play into the stratosphere for me,

If you like bashing Zombies it's ok to run around in this game and loot stuff. I just wish I could run over z's with my RV and not take damage.
So Far So Good! If you want a fantastic cross between 7 days to die and rust this will be the perfect fit! tons of different game modes so you can find one that works for you! Haven't ran into other players in lobbies so can not say anything about the community XD (I'm betting there pretty great though :D) Keep Making this game more fantastic devs! :)

Do not get this game one of the settings it's borken and because i can't properly play the game v sync does not work at all and it's another shitty unity game.
Even though this game is early accsess it's absolutely brilliant loads of potential. Been looking for a realistic zombie survival for a long time to fill the void until stae of decay 3 if they do decide to go ahead with it. This game gives off massive walking dead vibes and if you don't prep for trips you will soon know about it
Could be a good game but doesn't run correctly most of the time. Waste of money.

Kinda mid atm but I like the idea. Just remember its in Alpha. Project zomboid and 7 days had a baby and it still has some growing up to do.

Building items is blocked, trying to follow the story is a failure (creating story items is unclear - for example, how to boil water in a flask? I've tried everything - no way).
The same 7dtd is much more intuitive.

needs a lot of work. its fun though. lots of different scenarios to download but they kinda all feel the same with slight variations. Graphics are not very optimized. Gameplay is fun though. i like exploring but honestly with 7 days to die the only selling point this game has is the RV stuff. that is why i bought it. the driving feels like Ranch Simulator though.
died while in my rv thats stupid. took damage from the outside and it kills me.
Not for everybody obviously, despite the odd glitches it's still an enjoyable game to play. I play 7 day to die too and it has it's own strengths, some people forget the 7 days had a lengthy time until full release came around too.

Not really the review type, But this game has brought my kids and I closer together. 10/10 value right there. As for game play, yes its glitchy, yes there is bugs, but despite me being thrown mid air across the map, i found it super enjoyable. with the amount of customisation available for the actual game-play, by far my favourite zombie survival. Worth a shot, You'll know within the first hour or so if this game is for you.

Despite being in alpha it's a very good game with good ideas. Definitely worth a try, content is not lacking. If you played project zomboid, unturned, dayz or any zombie survial game it's pretty good. Even if it's not finished fully it feels like a good game unlike 7 days to die. If hesitant read this small list about the content:
-Make yourself a base: barricade houses or be on the move in an RV (you can place stuff on top or inside it and drive off with your home set inside)
-Find parts for vehicles: by heading to a car dealership (best option) and assamble a car by looting off compopnents from other cars
-Guns are pretty good some even one shot to the chest ammo can be plentyful and can modify weapons (use oil filter from a car for early supressor)
-Depending on settings hordes come every night which is optional, gives a true meaning to fortify your base
-Skills are essential to survival: mechanic for repairing cars metal and woodworking for base building, weapon skills for better handling etc.. the game is pretty straight forward if you look at it enough
-When you eventually die just like in project zomboid your skills reset aside from the starting skills. Days reset as well as horde difficulty, but it's not hard to level up.
-Combat is pretty good, axes one shot in the head and some others. There's a chance that some zombies run by default but they are rare, also they ragdoll so funny. Maybe a bit janky but not as bad as in other games.
-There are many maps to choose from official and unofficial, be sure to explore everything. There can be some secret places.
-Game optimization is not bad, there can be some lag like in the police station, but it's a specail place you will see why.
-Inventory management is something you will need to get used to, it's similar to project zomboid or the last stand union city.

I've been playing Survive the Nights for a few days now and I must say, it's a breath of fresh air in the open world, zombie survival space. The game is f*cking brutal, though. You start with a set of "attribute points" which can be put into skills such as weapon crafting, stamina, health, damage resistance, etc. As you progress and level up, you gain more attribute points to utilize. The only catch is, if you die, you lose all of the attribute points (except the ones initially assigned) and your level resets to zero. This can be frustrating when it comes to needing bandages or wanting to disassemble cars, so the game forces you to be mindful of your decisions. While I've died probably 8 or 10 times in my 13.7 hours of gameplay (scrub), I've been having an absolute blast. There's much work to be done in the way of rendering distance, animations, and UI; but this team has created a unique, interesting experience that feels original. I haven't encountered any bugs or issues that have interrupted my gameplay. Just one time I got a school bus stuck inside of a tree and it began spinning like a particle generator.
I love the weapons/gunplay (especially the chainsaw), I love how I can piece cars together without running 5,000 meters to find parts (looking at you, SCUM), and I love that leveling up doesn't require an unimaginable amount of time. Additionally, I've noticed that the pathing for zombies is almost perfect. Some walk, some jog, and some will ALL OUT SPRINT like a track star. The only time they've become confused is when I'm standing on a rock or other un-breakable object. Aside from that, they WILL chase you and punch you in your face. Not to mention, it's the eeriest sh*t I've ever experienced when I'm looting a gun shop at 2am and start hearing floorboards creak a few feet behind me. Talk about some suspense!
Overall, I keep finding myself coming back to Survive the Nights. I'm looking forward to leveling up so I can beef up my defenses, craft higher level weapons, maybe break into a police station, and retire to my dream home in Union Point. If you're on the fence, I would say give this game a chance. You won't be disappointed.

#1 Old folks home simulator. 10/10
Very fun so far! Old School Zombie vibes deluxe! No "special" zombies, just pure Day/dawn/Night of the Living Dead feel - and i'm all for it! - BUT..... Online required.. Yea, you can technically play it solo but.. not really. And the online servers for me is rarely under 300 ping. Playing on Pub Server a lot of the zombies "dies" visually, then you start to take damage and realize it did in fact not die, and is suddently popping up again - often inside you since you were going for the potential loot. This is so common that in the end I expected them to do it.
Thumbs up for the game itself - it's Great! - but I will most likely not play it anymore - at least not until I can actually play it alone - or a server pops up with a fair ping
(Solo play is always failing to connect and yea, it's probably a firewall thing but i'm not going to mess with that just to play a Solo experience..)
How do you play multiplayer without joining a public server? Why not make it like every other game??

It's a nice game, with some chalenges, with a great margin for improvement. It's time well spent exploring all the map.
It's like a 3D Project Zomboid, seriously it is. Easy to pick up and get going. So much fun its now my favorite zombie game!
