Killing Floor 2: Intense, Satisfying, and Brutally Fun Action
Killing Floor 2 is the ultimate adrenaline rush for fans of fast-paced, cooperative shooters. Developed by Tripwire Interactive, this visceral, action-packed game has earned a loyal fanbase due to its nail-biting intensity, gory combat, and satisfying gameplay loop. Whether you're playing solo or teaming up with friends, Killing Floor 2 delivers an exciting and challenging experience that’s sure to keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
At its core, Killing Floor 2 is a wave-based survival game where players fight against hordes of monstrous enemies known as Zeds. Each wave brings more enemies with increasing difficulty, culminating in a tough boss fight at the end of every round. What makes the gameplay so addictive is the perfect blend of chaotic action, strategic decision-making, and teamwork. The Zeds come in many shapes and sizes—some are fast and nimble, while others are huge and powerful—requiring players to work together to stay alive. Cooperation is key, whether you’re holding off waves of enemies, healing teammates, or strategizing for the next round.
The combat in Killing Floor 2 is brutal, satisfying, and incredibly fun. The game emphasizes visceral, close-quarters combat, allowing players to choose from a wide variety of weapons—ranging from melee tools like machetes and sledgehammers to powerful firearms like shotguns, assault rifles, and flamethrowers. Each weapon feels impactful, and the gunplay is precise, with satisfying feedback every time you eliminate a Zed. The melee combat is equally thrilling, with the game’s gore system letting you dismember enemies in spectacular ways, which adds to the overall sense of power and satisfaction. The kill animations and the sheer destruction caused by your weapons make each encounter feel exhilarating and rewarding.
The game’s progression system is another key factor in its appeal. Players can choose from different classes (called Perks), each with unique abilities and specialized weapons. Whether you’re playing as the Commando, Medic, Berserker, or Gunslinger, each Perk provides a unique experience that complements the team dynamic. As you level up your chosen Perk, you unlock new abilities and upgrades that make you feel even more powerful, adding a sense of progression and accomplishment. The variety of Perks ensures that every playthrough feels different, and the constant unlocking of new abilities keeps things fresh and exciting.
One of Killing Floor 2’s standout features is its emphasis on teamwork. The game can be played solo, but it truly shines when you team up with friends or other players online. Cooperation is essential for surviving the increasingly difficult waves of Zeds. Whether you're covering each other’s backs, sharing resources, or coordinating tactics for taking down tougher enemies, the game encourages players to work as a team. This team-based dynamic, paired with the intense action, creates a sense of camaraderie and achievement that’s rare in many other shooters.
The environments in Killing Floor 2 are immersive, atmospheric, and terrifying. From abandoned laboratories to decaying urban streets, the levels are designed to create tension and challenge players. The dark, claustrophobic corridors and eerie ambient sounds make each level feel like a horror film come to life, and the dynamic lighting adds to the sense of dread. The Zeds can appear from any direction, making the environment feel like a living, breathing entity that’s always trying to swallow you whole.
The sound design in Killing Floor 2 is top-notch. The game’s soundtrack, a mix of heavy metal and industrial tunes, perfectly complements the high-octane action and amps up the intensity. The growls, screams, and grotesque sounds of the Zeds add to the atmosphere, making every encounter feel more menacing. Each weapon’s audio feedback is equally satisfying, from the sharp crack of gunfire to the sickening thud of a melee weapon striking its target. The combination of intense music and atmospheric sound effects amplifies the sense of urgency and danger.
Killing Floor 2 also offers plenty of replayability. With regular updates, new content, maps, and seasonal events, the game keeps players coming back for more. The vast array of unlockable skins, weapons, and cosmetics lets you personalize your experience, and the variety of game modes ensures that you’ll never run out of ways to enjoy the game. Whether you’re tackling the main objective of surviving waves, trying to complete challenges, or just having fun with friends, Killing Floor 2 is endlessly replayable.
In conclusion, Killing Floor 2 is an exhilarating, brutally fun shooter that offers a perfect mix of intense combat, strategic gameplay, and cooperative action. Its fast-paced, visceral combat, diverse Perk system, and relentless waves of Zeds make it an unforgettable experience that’s both challenging and rewarding. The focus on teamwork and the game’s exceptional atmosphere keep it fresh and engaging for hours on end. If you’re looking for a game that offers a thrill-packed, action-packed co-op experience with plenty of gore, humor, and intense firefights, Killing Floor 2 is an absolute must-play.
good game besides fix the jumping like Tf your character jumps like 500 lbs fat guy
Excellent game, shitty monetisation.
What a surprise !
At least you can grab the base game for less than 2€/$ in sale.
I hope Killing Floor 3 will not be another Payday 3...
Mechanically decent zombie shooter with good weapon variation.
I bought it on a limb for me and my boys as it was was 95% off.
I cannot recommend this game due to its simplicity, repetitiveness and lack of enemies. As far as i've seen the game progess only consists of "higher numbers" and no meaningful gameplay changes.
Killing Floor 2 Review - Over 160 Hours In
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
After more than 160 hours of playing Killing Floor 2, I can confidently say it’s one of the most addictive co-op games I’ve ever sunk time into. It’s all about chaos, strategy, and a whole lot of Zeds. Whether I’m hopping in for a quick match or grinding out perk levels with friends, this game just never seems to get old.

Gameplay - A Bloody Good Time
The gameplay loop is straightforward: pick a perk (class), grab your gear, and survive wave after wave of Zeds. But trust me, the simplicity is part of the appeal. Shooting feels ridiculously good—every headshot is crunchy, every explosion is satisfying, and every weapon feels unique.
Personally, I’ve loved experimenting with different perks. One day, I’ll play as the Medic, saving everyone’s bacon, and the next, I’m a Demolitionist, blowing Zeds to bits while probably getting myself killed in the process. It’s all about finding what fits your playstyle, and there’s a perk for every mood.
The bosses, though? They’re no joke. Hans Volter and the Patriarch have wiped me and my team more times than I’d like to admit, but pulling off a victory in those final moments? Chef’s kiss.

Visuals and Sound - A Carnage Symphony
The game is over-the-top in the best way possible. Zeds explode into chunks, blood covers the map by the end of a wave, and the maps themselves are beautifully detailed. From creepy labs to Christmas-themed horrorscapes, the environments keep things fresh.
And the soundtrack? Absolute perfection. Blasting Zeds to heavy metal riffs feels like the perfect way to start or end a day. It gets your blood pumping—literally and figuratively.

Highlights - What Keeps Me Coming Back
Gunplay that feels ridiculously satisfying—headshots never get old.
The perks system lets you try tons of playstyles, from healer to tank to pyromaniac.
Teamwork is key, and when it clicks, the co-op experience is unmatched.
Seasonal events like Summer Sideshow and Twisted Christmas bring fun themes, cosmetics, and challenges.
The bosses are challenging and keep you on edge every match.

Cons - Not Everything Is Perfect
Solo play doesn’t hit the same—this game is best enjoyed with a squad.
The grind for certain weapons and skins can get tedious.

Final Thoughts - From a Zed-Slaying Addict
Killing Floor 2 is the kind of game I can pick up anytime and still have a blast, whether it’s a short session or a full evening of Zed-slaying madness. It’s not just about mindless shooting—there’s strategy, teamwork, and a level of chaos that keeps every match exciting.
If you’re into intense co-op games, love experimenting with different weapons and classes, and don’t mind a bit of grind, this is a must-play. Just grab some friends, crank up the metal soundtrack, and prepare for waves of carnage.

Requires teamwork at harder difficulties or you are stuck running as medic all the time to heal yourself. Too bad most of the time the teammates are braindead. Find yourself a capable team and the game is really satisfactory.
Absolutely love this game, so addicting and the gameplay never gets old 9/10
Runs like dogshit, enemies just pin you in a corner and you can't move, couldn't find another living soul to matchmake with. Heavy microtransactions too.
Absolutely love the game, it's an amazing game to play with friends(or coop/pvp alone). The game though does take a bit of time to get use to, like the aiming, map such and such but once you get a hang of it, you will easily spend hours on it. The graphic looks amazing. Overall, it is an awesome game to play with friends or team up with online players, and best of all you get to create and play on custom maps! Loving it and really enjoying it!
Absolutely love the fast paced action, team work dynamic and cinematic value of this game. It's kept me hooked for hours and coming back again and again!
For $2 how can anyone complain about this game. Shoot undead and upgrade your guns. good times and better with others on your squad
note: base game recommended when on sale (only 1.40 euros)
Killing Floor 2 is a fun horde survival co-op shooter for up to 6 players, featuring 10 classes, confusingly termed 'perks'. Each additional player increases health, damage and number of enemies, and each class earns xp with a new perk every 5 levels. You earn currency in each round and can shop for armor, ammo, upgrades and entirely new weapons. Games last 4, 7 or 10 waves, with an additional boss round (5, 8, 11). An 'endless' mode exists as well, but I haven't tried it yet, nor the up to 12 player 'versus' mode. There are numerous, good looking maps. Even in late 2024 there is no shortage of players for most of the day from what I can tell, but it is decidedly less fun solo - when I can't find players I prefer Vermintide 2, where the 3 other slots get filled by bots. Running alone through the - usually - very large maps is... not so much fun.
The 1.40 euros for base game when on sale are well invested. DLC are entirely cosmetic (I never buy those), with the exception of 2 'armory' DLC which provide new weapons. Neat feature: if even one of the players of your team has those DLC, the whole group can use them!
Be aware that the game is 'always on', although once the game loads there is an option for 'solo offline'. I haven't tested that yet and don't care to tbh (I've had a few online games where nobody joined, usually after midnight, hence my complaint about solo play).

The game is really nice. But the most annoying and stupid thing added to this game was the slow motion part. It is by far the most annoying thing the devs added in this game. When you are surrounded by a bunch of zombies and the slow motion process begins it is a real hamper when you are trying to shoot and focus. I have no clue or understanding why the devs put this crap in but for the love of god TAKE IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!
The Game is more fun when played with friends or online. More players more fun.
Solo experience might become a little boring since it becomes repetitive.
The fps is capped at 62 ( unlockable ) and can drop significantly when hordes of zombies surround you.
Graphics are good, gore is good too
overall nice game but lil repetitive
A very fun game with friends.Very fast pace game. The emotes honestly are the best! haha. Can be a little overwhelming at first. Once you play a game or two its easy to follow. The down side is the game takes awhile to load up and does crash. Still worth it. <3 Should def give it a try!
Really enjoy the game, it is very simple but alot of fun. Love the wave shooter aspect, wish more games could go back to the simple multiplayer.
very good game with amazing graphics and tons of weapons you can use to get through each wave. This game is highly recommended 5 stars :)
Bloated, takes 5 years to load up the game, lots of hitching 8 years after release.
A fun addicting shooter had over 200hours on console had to get this baby on pc with max graphics its really fun give it a shot
good game,I play it everyday. It has a very good style, everyone has own job and character in the group, and the commando chicken is my favorite suit.
Great game. Easier than the first one, though. My main complaint is with the playerbase. They aren't jerks, but they just do NOT seem to comprehend how to hold sectors so no matter how good you are at the game some dip is going to let clots and crawlers get in behind you.
Super fun wave survival zombie game. The gameplay loop can be a little repetitive, but there is enough to keep you interested for hours! Way better w/ friends.
its a fun game only played for 30 minets and already favorite game easy to learn and ist cheapn so i would get this game if i were you
Fun solo or with others.
Worth full price.
Get in there and kill some Zeds.
10/10
Excellent round based coop game, many classic with lots of weapons to pick from, mix and match to your liking.
fun game and design a nice followup to KF1, terrible execution and poorly programmed cluster f$%k hard drive bleder. a 2016 game that is 100GB and takes 10 minutes to startup the dam thing and constantly bugs and frame drops even to this day, the devs are more focused on creating hats than fixing the script.
I've bought this game for multiple friends and family, I love it.
It doesn't show on Steam, but on PS4/PS5 I have over 2000 hours in this game.
It's an extremely skill focused game which makes it enjoyable long term.
I had all the trophies on PSN for it.
Played since Killing Floor 1 back in the 2010 era. I remember seeing trailers for the original killing floor only to buy it and be majorly disappointed that it was a wave-based shooter. I got over this arcade-feel after a while... and just kept playing. Now I have a second copy on steam and intend to get back to where I was on PS4/PS5, which was all maxed/gold perks & all achievements.
Killing Floor 3 comes out soon, and I couldn't be more excited!
My favorite horde game ever. Very excited for 3. Wishlist it now or I'll steal your organs for entertainment and profit. Kind regards.
i think it took like 8 hours to do 80-90 levels. kinda wanted to do the full 100 but fatiuged out with the other 3. if you want to piss your day away shooting zombies this is it.
Killing Floor 2 is very good game, the players are very friendly,no one is toxic, you can always find a game, custom servers are also great and MONEY RAIN
very good at what it sets out to do. sad I can't play as lods emone in this game tho
Excellent round based coop game, many classic with lots of weapons to pick from, mix and match to your liking.
TLDR: Go play Killing Floor 1 Ultimate Game Servers >>> this. You'll thank me later.
Nooope. Even after all this time, I won't/will not/ever recommend this. Drifts apart from the original and even makes it worse both in monetization and enemies, sluggish and unoptimized. Why am I not surprise it went down the "pay up paywall fortnite route" e.g. that cash shops gets more value than the actual game but patch it up with DLCs consoomer glazers to justify it. Nearly every modern game is basically just this. I am tired of it. Denuvo included for added middle finger points like PC gamers get enough nonsense as it is.
Also don't get it twisted wasn't made by Tripewire, it was made by Harsuit Labs; the bootleg Tripewire hence the why the quality went down. Tripewire only publishes games now they don't make 'em.. congratulations, you fumbled the bag.. and now with Killing Floor 3 with these garbage specialists thing it has going on yeah... even if I have issues with KF1, I'll still play it in protest against KF2 and KF3.
Gameplay is very repetitive. It is better with friends but there is nothing to write home about. There are different classes to fit different play styles and perks you need to grind for to unlock. You need to grind for each class separately. After level 10 progression begins to really slow down. The zombies are the same regardless of whatever map you pick, higher difficulties only increase their HP and damage making waves very boring, repetitive and the amount of money earned per round is heavily reduced. The final bosses turn into sponges at higher difficulties, very boring and the fight is very drawn out.
Killing Floor 2 is a wave based zombie shooter. The gameplay is fun and each perk feels unique. This game has a ton of maps at this point, and most of them are great. Unfortunately, the game is pretty dead at this point. Lobbies can still be found but not nearly as much as the Steam player count would have you think. The objective modes are really repetitive, and the game feels fairly dated overall. That being said, this game is still a lot of fun if you enjoy pretty mindless shooters, and has enough content to justify giving the game a try.
The Complete Killing Floor Experience 10/10, still lots of players around to play with.
Good to spend time with, some class are pretty OP with the DLCs always better with friends. Good for achivement hunters
Great game, awfuly monetization.
DLC weapons, crates, skins, etc.
Hard to find specific lobbies, let's say you want to play a certain map on a certain difficulty for an achievement.. that will take like 10 minutes.
Great gameplay garbage everything else. Stablity, cancer ftp monetization, disgustingly overpriced DLC weapons etc.
Will occasionally suffer from mystery crashes for seemingly no reason.
Good luck getting a decent lobby with the settings you want in less than 15 minutes.
Would give the game a neutral review if I could, but due to its many problems I lean negative.
Great game. Fairly unique zombies ZEDS formula, unique weapons and classes make it fun to try new things. Love to load it up and just gun down some zeds. 10/10
I am very bad at fps games. I also get jumpscared easily. KF2 helped me get better with both. Easy to play, hard to master. The best part is that you can play the firebug class and set EVERYTHING on fire. Overall, game is super fun, satisfying, and fast paced. Great if you only have 30 minutes to kill or are trying to go for a full night of gaming with your friends.
I played a lot of killing floor 1 when younger and now, after trying the sequel, im very disappointed. Either my memories deceived me into thinking this game was ever good or it was really because its made for children... its paintball mechanics and the enemy variety is unbelievably small, after consulting the wiki i can say for sure that there are only 6 enemy variations besides bosses, the rest of the variations are just too similar to one of those 6 enemies.
The bullets fly and reach the target instantly with zero spread and zero falloff, its literally a raycast shooting trigger, every gun shoots like a CS Sniper. The melee combat has horrible hitboxes for both you and the zombie, both have to be way closer than they should ever have to be to hit each other. The map layouts are just not made for a shooter game, severe lack of open spaces and verticallity. Zombie AI is amateur and bad, defeated the hardest boss in the game using a single pillar and it wasnt even that thick, the lack of polish is horrifying, that, btw, is the only horrifying thing about this game because this game is very bright with cartoonish textures for enemy and allied skins.
Overall it doesnt even feel like it was made by the same developers that made killing floor 1, its amateur and it lacks love, its feels like a student project made for teenagers, it plays really really bad, it plays like a mobile port to PC, cannot undermine how horrible the gunfight and kiting mechanics are, the art is also sh1t, it reminds me of borderlands and theres a very good reason why we dont have zombies in borderland, doesnt fit the art style.
I feel dirty with this which forces us to download more on windows and the game is empty anyway.
didn't have any item authentication issues with kf2 servers but i've been getting brutal ping recently bad enough that my friend group cannot play . kf2 is getting up there in years but its still really fun when it works
Very fun, great mechanics. Looking forward to KF3
really fun killing zombie killing game. but it needs more things to do. events or something that that.
7/10
played for hours on console and the game is still fun. wish servers were better but the game is great
This has one niche over games like Dead Island and Dying Light
A hammer modified with a pressure activated nailbomb charge
Satisfactory
My favorite rhythm game, you toss on your favorite tracks and the battlefield is your instrument. I hop, blast, and melee to the beat. You work on your aim (never ads, turn off crosshair) and all the sudden you are controlling dual fully automatic handguns and weakspotting all high threat zeds and just ripping through them. A satisfying parry system, generally good balance (all classes have a role, some are easier/more powerful than others but all good) and workshop support so whatever you don't like you can modify. Game runs great and has throughout multiple hardware changes. 100% great game to solo or play with friends, can't recommend enough. If you don't wanna wait for a sale there is always grey markets, I have *allegedly* bought this game 23 times for friends for $3 USD a pop. The only reason I've slowed down on playing this game is I beat every map on HoE and the fellas got bored, but we always come back around. We're all just trying to reach FatCat status.
