started playing this game on console around 2018, loved it. Playing it on steam is an improvement in every way
Good game, But I'm a little tired of it, Maybe I'll come back
When I take all of its additional content.
But, in principle, I recommend this game.
Game kicks ass. While I haven't played KF3 and only really watched a lot of videos on it, I think KF2 was probably the peak of the franchise. Still has a decent sized playerbase and a lot of content if your thinking of jumping in this late in the game.
Killing Floor 2 vs. Killing Floor 3 Beta – A Quick Take
Killing Floor 2 remains a co-op classic—fast-paced, gory, and endlessly replayable. Its brutal gunplay, flexible perk system, and cinematic Zed Time make it a fan favorite even years after release. It’s a game that nails the fun of teamwork and chaos.
In contrast, the Killing Floor 3 beta has disappointed many and that includes myself. The new locked hero system removes player freedom, the iconic gore has been toned down, and performance issues plague the experience. It feels like a step backward rather than an evolution.
If you're looking for pure, satisfying Zed-slaying, Killing Floor 2 still does it best
Awful way they went about adding workshop you need to create your own dedicated server to even play any workshop items with friends, Imagine not just adding p2p like bo3
After a long time baking this game is classic now. It's a fun game, a great game to play with friends, and one that will always having you come back at least every now and then to play. The combat is satisfying, the gunplay and meleeplay is great. I hope they do kf3 justice, I really do.
I've spent hundreds of hours on the PS4/5 version, and the PC version is even better. With Killing Floor 3's disastrous beta nearly souring the franchise (thankfully Tripwire took our fan feeback to heart and delayed 3 to fix it!) I decided to dive back in, and man it feels good to mow down some Zeds again.
This game good. Kill zeds (zombies of a different flavour) with various weapons. Game still looks pretty solid, and the gore system is fun.
One of the best zombie waves-coop games out there. Had a blast back in the days with KF1 and KF2 just improved on the basis of the first one. The only downside compared to the first title is the lack of a darker and grimmier atmosphere, more like a survival horror setting.
Killing Floor 2 has a deep class customization, an extensive variety of weapons to try out and a quite fair learning curve movement and positioning wise. This is a must try if you like first person shooters, coop and zombie waves games. Looking forward to see what Tripwire will do with Killing Floor 3.
Love Doom? I know I do, this game even though its a little older than your normal game has one of the best gore and feedback from any weapon.
fun to play, my only purpose for giving dislike is get rid of that vote kick im sick and tired of that crap this needs to remove the kick vote, plzz remove it. ty
tons of fun as a casual player. Enough classes/progression to keep you busy, but with a low swill floor so anyone can pickup and play. graphics are good for it's age. Only cons are the events no longer exist, and large file size due to all the lootboxed skins
Good but the modern aesthetic won't beat KF1 and it's way overdue when comes to crossplay implementation. Waiting for Killing floor 3!
seems like an amazing game on the surface...... lots of customization and replayability make KF2 a great experience.
Until you find out they are british
ugh cant believe they bait and switch a cool zombie game with those islanders.
Awesome soundtrack, fun game for killing time when you're unsure of what to play in your library.
600+ hours (and counting) since I picked this game up a decade ago in early access.
I still play almost daily, so I definitely got my money's worth. I can't recommend this game enough. Great maps, monsters, weapons, classes, and gameplay.
Great must play game. (Im the greatest player in the world)
Good horde shooter, satisfying gunplay with a variety of perks (classes) and weapons to choose from.
its better than kf1, more fun gunplay and various kit in cost no more gritty atmosphere, rather the game knows its a game so every stage looks like playground and the character talk like the zombie is just everyday occurance unlike in kf1. i enjoyed it very much, but the size of this game is too much for me, pure mp with 100gb data size, this why pve always thrive than pvp, even this day there still 1000 rooms you can join.
I enjoy this game immensely. Sometimes you just want to kick back and shoot Zeds. It doesn't require too much calculation or strategy, just grab a team and start shooting (or swinging depending on your weapon).
Some bosses are better than others, at least in the aspect of which I prefer to fight, but my favorite levels by far are voiced by Gary Busey. I just love the idea of him being Santa for some reason.
great fun, especially with friends, simple zombie killing fun
A buddy got me to try it. I plugged in 12 hrs and went back to L4D2. 5 years later I'm a man and need a mans game.
Pros
Overall gameplay is fun
All the perks feel great to play
The weapons are vast and satisfying
The enemies are actually competent
The maps feel and look good
Cons
The optimization is horrible
It can be really enraging when you die all because you were cornered by a horde or get cheap spotted by bosses last minute right as they were gonna die
Microtransactions are a little carried away
The bosses can be annoying sometimes. Mainly the patriarch with how he goes invisible and runs away to heal
This isn't really an issue on my end but I hear how many people have bad experiences trying to run the game with it crashing and lagging on them and straight up not working on windows 11 when windows 11 released.
Maxing out perk talent trees can take forever. I played this game since 2023, and i only got one perk (berserker) maxed out
Overall, the game is great just be warned of what could possibly be issues
it has its problems but it is at its core a fun zombie wave survival game that is pretty fun alone but great fun with friends!
Great horde team shooter. Nothing else really to say is great fun with friends or randoms
played for a long time getting back into it kf2 is the best of the series
The characters are great, the writing’s super chill. If you’re into cozy RPGs where not much happens but it still sticks with you, you’ll probably love it. It’s one of those games you can play to unwind nothing too intense, just a relaxing escape when you need it.
a great came as its own, but the DLC makes it hard to play since it limits variety of the guns
also fuck the prices for the DLC guns
also fuck the animations for the more 'newer' DLC guns
also fuck you tripwire
F*ck yes this game is worth EVERY cent.
Hopefully the Devs look back on Kf2 & take lots of examples from this game & put them
back into Kf3 as idk why they would take them out in the first place lol??
Anyways all up to Devs now all I gotta say is Good on them tho for Delaying Kf3 after the community didn't
like the Beta.
Fan since Kf1 & VERY Happy with what they did with this one.
I'd load up this Mother F*cker anytime, anyday, & kill some f*cking Zedz!!!!!
30/10
Second part of this epic zombie slaying franchise takes everything that made the first game enjoyable and ramps it up, delivering a more polished, intense, and satisfying co-op zombie survival experience. The visuals have received a huge upgrade, with more detailed environments, better enemy designs, and impressive gore effects that make the action feel even more visceral. The waves of mutated creatures are bigger, nastier, and come with more variety, making each encounter more thrilling and unpredictable. The fast-paced combat is just as enjoyable as before, but now there are even more weapons, classes, and abilities to choose from, giving players more ways to customize their playstyle and tackle the waves.
One of the biggest improvements in Killing Floor 2 is the enhanced combat mechanics. The gunplay is tighter, with more impactful feeling weapons, and the addition of melee combat options adds variety and excitement to battles. The perk system has also been expanded, allowing for more specialized roles in the team, from a medic who keeps everyone alive to a demolitions expert who can wipe out entire hordes with explosive firepower. The new enemies, including towering bosses, provide satisfying challenges and add to the sense of chaos that the game thrives on. The multiplayer is a blast, and the new features like the ability to purchase weapons mid-wave and more varied map designs keep the game feeling fresh, even after multiple hours of play.
Overall, Killing Floor 2 is a substantial improvement over its predecessor, offering a more refined and brutal zombie survival experience. It’s got the same addictive loop of surviving waves, leveling up, and upgrading weapons, but now with more depth, polish, and new features that make it even more fun to play with friends. If you enjoyed the first game, Killing Floor 2 is a must-play, offering everything that worked in the original with a significant upgrade in every area.

Interesting game, I like the graphics, and great online
This is a very good game considering how old it is. I bought it for 2 dollars and I have almost 100 hours on it so it's worth the money. Great time to buy it before killing floor 3 comes out.
If you like cod zombies, it's that but actually shown some love and attention. Tripwire takes care of their fans and often fulfill our ideas. I have had this game on 3 different platforms and I love playing it every single time. This is a game that you download, love playing, and often come back to with your friends who also fall in love with it.
Really fun even when you are playing alone or with randoms but when you have friends its a whole different experience. Really worth playing especially when it goes on an insane sale. Highly recommend
cool game but my teammate won't stop closing the doors on me!
extremely late to post this as it was my first game on steam and im passing 3k hours in time to come but....good game i like it.
8/10 Overall
A fun little shooter that is better than most new games released by AAA studios in the past 3 years.
Pros
- Great price if you wait for a sale
- Good Graphics, environment, etc. for when it was made
- Great theme, reminds me of a high quality version of zombie panic
Cons
- Slightly short on content (maps, characters, weapons, etc.). With the content you get out of the box it is worth about $5
- Movement is slightly sluggish
- User Interface is very poorly made
- Missing the most basic game optimizations Poor performance on even lowest video and sound settings. There are frame drops randomly due to map and memory leaks and other poor quality workmanship.
- Basic game features like key-binds sometimes have issues.
super fun and satisfying game! however:
- file size is bloated to hell and back with unnecessary garbage like cosmetics. why does my goofy horde shooter have to be almost 100 GB?
- paid cosmetics and loot boxes. customization should be free in a game that costs money. but hey at least that's only with visuals that don't affect gameplay, right? oh wait- ⬇⬇⬇
- cool weapons are locked behind paywalls. very obnoxious practice for a game that's more than $10. dunno if KF3 is gonna be good or not, but if this shit remains? not buying. i'll just wait for a scoundrel to solve the DRM riddle, then sail the seven seas for it.
- game takes forever to start up. intro movies, plus the game keeping you on a black screen while it takes a galactic cycle to connect to the item servers. for a game i wanna quickly hop onto and kill some things for a bit, this sucks. i've found ways around these wastes of time, but i shouldn't have had to in the first place.
- the process and documentation for getting a server up and running is strange, confusing, and doesn't even work. likely just a me problem, but regardless, it's a problem i can't find any solution for.
i'd like KF3 to be good, but my hopes aren't high.
While I was doing the yearly KF2 session with friends, one of said friend's girlfriend said this game looked like Fortnite, and from that day onward this game is now forever referred to as Fortnite. 10/10 would build an entire apartment complex just to jump off of it and miss the stationary clot at the bottom.
With very little hours on this game, and barely any clue what weapons are the best, I'll give my general opinion on the game:
The graphics are really nice, It's dark, sure, but that makes the atmosphere ever more better. It keeps you on your toes, wondering what zed might jump out of the dark when your flashlight runs out momentarily.
The zeds feel satisfying to kill, even the more tankier ones feel like there's a way to defeat them, while keeping the challenge on harder difficulties. I haven't gotten the courage to try out suicidal difficulty yet, since my roles aren't high enough to be the recommended level, but even on hard it really feels like a genuine challenge, especially on solo.
The bosses at the end of the game feel unique, with each of them looking and fighting in their own ways.
The voice acting of the game also sounds good, with funny lines. Each of them feel like a complete different person, with their own, personal background from where they come and who they are.
The maps? WOW. The official maps and their collectibles are super fun and give a little side objective to look out for, while fighting off the horde getting ever more closer to your position.
The weapons feel unique, each with their own special traits and recoil, as far as I've tested them. With each role having their own specialized weaponry, it makes it feel like any combination will work, once you learn the gun.
TLDR; The game feels satisfying, and if you're even slightly thinking about getting the game, I can recommend.
You get good at it. Then really good. Eventually, you change difficulty levels. Plays like a different game after.
I like the game, but this simple zombie shooting game is somehow almost 100gb big, so I usually would rather have games other than this installed.
Everything about the gameplay and visuals is better than OG killing floor (even though I still enjoy KF1 more). But there's two major issues.
1: The game can be a technical mess even refusing to start for a fair number of people
2: It has one of the worst cash shops I've ever seen. And I played FFXIV.
If problem 1 doesn't hit and problem 2 doesn't bother you then you'll have a great time.
Despite all the microtransactions and mostly distasteful dlc and lack of updates, the core of the game is still fun and worth the money when it is on sale. Grab the one with all the weapon DLC because they are fun but of course, not all of them are good. In fact some are kinda shit.
I just wished they handled KF2 better and hope that KF3 will be better than its beta and gets better treatment than KF2 did at the end of its life.
You'll still find players and populated servers. However, I suggest searching for servers yourself and not rely on the game finding a match for you because they will default to high ping servers, at least for me from where I live. Hitting headshots are never the same after playing this game. Trust me.
I will say that if you are an achievement hunter, this game's achievements are kinda bland and same-y. At least compared to KF1 imo, but I haven't played much of KF1 as I struggle to find populated servers with low ping on that game. The custom content in this game can be awesome but can also feel like a fever dream sometimes so pick your poison I guess.
Chaotic, explosive, and often unfair! Suck it down! Learn to parry or die!
No private lobbies sucks but there's plenty of empty ones you can hijack for game night.
Quite fun but NOT IMMERSIVE cause of the environtment and cosmetic shit Micro transaction If you only buy game to just having fun with who ever you wish KF2 is a Great place to start your journey
Intense Gameplay, Repetitive, Team Play, Easy Understand Mechanic, BUT NOT IMMERSIVE
Just run and gun. A game cannot be more fun and simple as this concept. It's a must buy.
great content and excellent action with good graphics that don't over tax your PC too much.
Good learning curve that has a normal, hard and even harder-core modes for the truly crazy FPS gamer. I always have good times with randos in matches, the community is very good in this game, players are helpful and not sweaty since its a PvE monster wave shooter
Pretty gross that the first main menu feature the game highlights upon first launch is not the tutorial, but the in-game microtransactions shop.
Upon starting a round, the next thing you notice is that crosshairs are disabled by default for some reason and needs to be enabled in the options. Gameplay-wise it's like a worse L4D where instead of naturally encountering large amounts of zombies on your way to get from point A to point B, zombies unnaturally comes to your position in predetermined waves, with time to restock on a weird shop in between (probably some kind of asset-flip, judging from how out of place it is). The perk system is just poorly defined classes that exists to give players something to grind rather than diversify gameplay, it's not like you're locked to any class's weapon set, have unique tools, or restricted to gain exp for any particular class. You might have different starting grenades, but the difference between HE grenade, Frag grenade, nail bomb, or the dynamite stick isn't explained, nor how the starting knives are any different to each other (other than cosmetically). Enemy variety isn't that interesting, most are cannon fodder, except for the last-round boss which has it's health and speed arbitrarily increased to ludicrous levels. There are no map or minimap feature, which is rather annoying, as you get hit in the back by enemies you can't see coming. Simply having outlines to identify nearby doors you can weld would be nice, instead of randomly wandering about looking for doors. If you accidentally back into a corner, you can get trapped between the boss and walls, doomed to slowly get shredded because there is no ability to push back or move past enemies. Jumping and mobility in general sucks and you can't even get over waist-high railing. Right-clicking to scope/iron-sight feels really bad in this game, the scope/iron-sight occludes too much of your FOV, and is generally unecessary as most of the shooting is in very close quarters.
Story might as well be non-existent, with no campaign mode to speak of, and characters are just vehicles to attach cosmetics to, as you grind cosmetic crap and loot boxes to make the ugliest and most out-of-place looking avatars as you can to break any semblance of the non-existent immersion.
