Having just played through DD2, this game feels clunky. Its just so GD slow. It doesnt feel like an NES game either, instead of two buttons to jump, jump has its own button. This probably is fine if i had played with the controller config, but i just cant get over how sluggish this game feels to the OG NES games.
Very fun game especially once you unlock other characters like Ashida to play with.
Sadly, game aged pretty badly.

i'm guessing a lot of people have this morbidly wishlisted and a bunch probably bite on each sale. I bit on the current 50% so it cost about $3.50.
I won't spoil the jank fun for those people, but I can say I got about exactly $3.50 out of it. It delivered: the crazed unbreaking guitar line in the track for Mission 3, a solid hour of gawking generally, 1 funny video, then that was it. I think it was worth it.
There's plenty to pick over, but the main thing I'd like to point out is that the gameplay is pretty faithful to NES DD. Unfortunately, while it appears to be DD2, the balance is more like DD3. However, they give you a huge health bar, which you'll need to just tank a lot of hits because it's like an overtuned Blockbuster rental game, like DD3 NES. So be forewarned that the main thing that made me eventually stop is that it plays like *drumroll* Double Dragon. A once through gives you your 350 worth and a quenching of wonder about just what on earth this thing is.
feels like playing a upgraded version of the arcade version of double dragon 2. must play for double dragon fans or beat em up game fanatics
