Abandoned software.
Without any support from the dev.
Making cards for Tabletop Simulator on this is finicky and a chore. There's no search function (so it's hard to double check if you've already created a card,) and it doesn't let you customize the output resolution for Tabletop Simulator. Also you have to be really careful not to duplicate cards when using Microsoft Excel importing/exporting. You have to make sure that you give all your card templates a card ID, and you can't delete cards based on ID alone from excel importing; it only adds extra cards.
Great for making cards
Card Creator is not being supported by developers anymore, do not waste your money on it. There are severe and detrimental bugs and glitches that are not worth the time and effort.
I had to create a prototype. Fast. I got stuck on really weird bugs. Remade. Got stuck on more strange bugs. Remade and was surprised over the exceptionally steep learning curve of something that should be intuitive. Remade everything. Run into so many design decisions that makes no sense whatsoever, that I had to redo everything. So I did it again... Until I realized that it's impossible to use blueprints in any meaningful way. You have to redo each card...
I can't express how amazingly fiddly and buggy this garbage is. Which begs the question:
If you want to make fast designs, use paint, which is faster and looks at least just as good.
If you want to make good looking designs, use Incscape which will be a lot more precise and look a lot better.
Why on earth would you use this garbage?
BEFORE YOU BUY!!!! You may want to hold on on this and not waste any money on this because, I have lost a lot quality ink and paper printing this to the card size and it won't do it, This is also buggy When it's time to save or sometimes even export stuff The little popout that comes out just stay stuck there, Speaking of export what exactly does the export CVS really exports cuz it Doesn't Really export anything All I get is a cell sheet with like numbers on it that's about it It really doesn't export anything else Than the numbers of the cards which seems kind of lame and useless that it won't export everything in the data that you have put into it.
This is very useful if you need to just get basic card concepts quickly made and easily put them into print and play or table top, but it is very poor for actual design and is clunky in way too many areas. It is a very useful tool if you know what you are using it for. 40 USD is absurd for what you get. I bought it on sale for 15 and that felt much more fair.
Does exactly what it needs to do for a card making program, the only hard part is getting the templates for repeated use.
