When you first launch GameGuru Classic, it may appear to be a simple level editor, but it's actually crammed with lots of useful tools you will need to make your own game, including a character creator, model importer, building maker, complete scripting language and of course, over 6GB of complimentary game assets to get you started. The fact it's as easy as any in-game level editor is a plus, and unlike level editors, you get to save out what you've made and even sell your game!

We've created a small game level for you to play and enjoy, which shows you how you might lay out your level, and balance the combat to give the player a challenging experience. You can, of course, edit this level any way you wish and learn from an existing demo level rather than start completely from scratch. We believe there is nothing on the market which enables you to create and share a 3D game as quickly as GameGuru Classic, thanks to a massive starter collection of assets, our easy drag and drop approach and built-in game logic so you don't need to code it yourself (unless you want to).
As a welcome bonus, we have also included an expansion pack with over 2.8 GB of additional game assets for you to get started, completely free! In fact, all the art you see in the screenshots above are included in GameGuru Classic and you are free to include them in your games, no strings attached. We do sell additional content DLCs, but with over 6,000 megabytes of game assets already crammed into GameGuru Classic, the DLCs are entirely optional.

Choosing Your Game Engine
GameGuru Classic is not designed to compete with professional development tools such as Unity, Unreal and Cry-engine which are ideally suited to producing commercial apps and games. GameGuru Classic is a recreational game maker, not a professional tool, and is still very much in development. GameGuru Classic is unsuitable for serious game development projects at this time, and we highly recommend you visit the forums and ask many questions before you make a decision on the game making tool for you.

If you're looking to jump into 3D game development then GameGuru Classic is still without argument, the best starting point. Although this game design engine has been around for several years, it has matured into a solid framework for quickly putting your ideas into action.
The interface is quick and uncluttered so you won't be distracted by some of the overwhelming features found in the top-end products. Perfect for low-end desktops/laptops and runs without issues on Windows 10. The huge collection of high quality DLC's available help to make your protoype game designs look like finished products.
Not to mention the excellent support from the TGC team if you happen to have any issues with any of their products.
Overall the GameGuru Classic is a classic masterpiece and IMO deserves the be on the top shelf of any gaming fan's collection.
good
Used this for like an hour and gave up, it somehow feels more limiting than TGC's own FPSCreator, which came out in 2005, and I think "feels" is the key word here: It's not that it actually is limiting, you can do in GameGuru what you can do in FPSCreator, but it just doesn't feel as good, fun, or snappy, for example:
In FPSCreator, you just grab a segment and make a room out of it. In GameGuru Classic, you need to go into build mode, place your building down, then pick a texture, place down the floors, then you pick another texture, add walls, then another texture, and then you place the ceiling.
I get that it technically allows for more freedom, but it feels clunkier, slower, and less practical.
I could go on, like I could talk about how for some reason moving the camera too fast to the left causes the editor camera to unfocus, or how the engine renders everything all at once, and (by default) with ZERO LODs so the game is a constant slog unless you look straight down like you're speedrunning Goldeneye, or maybe even about how outdated the graphics look compared to how they perform, but I won't, because 1. I don't wanna make this review so long that it becomes a nonsensical series of ramblins, and 2. I do personally think TGC are good people that have made great sutff in the past, and I use FPSCreator for a reason (mostly because it's free, but also because of that classic FPSC *stank*).
But either way, this engine is just not good, it's just FPSCreator but "modern", and not as good.
Just get FPSCreator, or if you don't mind coding, just use the bigger, free engines.
Yea sure... ''Make a game'', i would recommend getting good on Unity or Epic instead of using this damn app. It makes shovelware games on Steam even more disastrous cause this engine is used in a lot of these types of games.
laggy and kinda sucks
There is not even a mention of GameGuru Classic Discord nor is there any link to it. Also what exactly is this about the forum for it being closed to new postings?
I provided a link and see no mention of a Classic Discord for anyone to go to for support or to ask question about this engine.
