Best hunting game ever made, even though I fully suck when hunting for things, when I do get something. It's pretty fun
I've played this game on Xbox for 2,000 hours, I then switched to PC and lost my DLC's but i'm enjoying the game rn. I highly recommend the silver ridge peaks DLC along with the ATV or "Rapid Fire Pack".
This game have amazing Graphic and the view always makes me amaze and snap a lot of picture instead of hunting, lmao. I really in love with this game and it makes me feel peaceful just idling watching the view when I'm resting from hunting.
Like hunting animals this game has it from deer all the way to lions and bears
Please make Turkey hunting realistic. have them roost at night and gobble from the tree in the early morning. add Different types of turkey gear and calls. have them act realistically to calls
Super realistic and fun, as well as rewarding. Also, DLCs are great but not at all necissary. BEAUTIFUL graphics as well :)
After getting used to the functionality of the game's Inventory and Store, I have found that this game is probably the closest to reality all the way down to the time of day the animals move and where. The sound files are as close to reality as I've ever heard on a game. All in all, I would recommend this game to my most experienced hunting buddies as well as new hunters. This could be a good training tool for beginners. Nothing like actually being in the field though.
Great game, great graphics. I do think the animal behaivour should be updated and slighly more realistic, but for the most part its amazing
I think this game has something going for it, one of the only hunting game's that I really grasped and enjoyed. But, the DLC is too predatory and unnecessary. I'm not sure why they don't just make the game $40 bucks and make it come with all of the reserves OR equipment. I think having DLC is fine but right now you just miss out on so much stuff and it makes the $20 price tag seem like bait, especially with the frequent 70% off sales.
I love the game, and don't get me wrong, you can have a lot of fun without needing any DLC. But it should change the way it monetizes itself. And for that I'm negative about this game.
goated game i will be playing it again at some point but just a thing to watch out for is jumpscares from the animals cause i was chasing a moose then it started squaring up with me lol
I see tiger, i aim gun at it. Another tiger is behind me.
This is a horror game.
Very engaging game. Can be easy to just walk around and find animals, but very challenging to find the right quality. I'm also an avid hunter (not just in the game) and i feel that this has helped me with shot placement.
its fun to just walk around hunt animals as the game intent you to, but when your beautiful red deer gets scared off by an overweight furry and his fat furry friends you just want to blow your head off your shoulders
I want to love this game, I really do. Graphics and scenery are just amazing. Its fun to go out for a random hunt every now and then, but this is where the problems start. If you can't invest a HUGE chunk of time into this game (i'm not even remotely exaggerating here), then just don't bother. This is not a game for casual players, or people with a 9 to 5 and a family to spend time with. Progression in this game feels slower than waiting for your internet to load up in the 90s. 200 hours and many, varying kills in and I'm not even half way through a single character progression, or even laid eyes on anything better than a gold. Its said the fastest way to get experience is to do missions, and yet you can spend a 4 hour gaming session just looking for the animal they want you to kill, and simply find nothing. I've lost count of the amount of sessions I have played where I haven't even fired a single shot. I've just been looking for that one deer that the game seems to have forgotten to spawn in today.
Now don't get me started on how unrealistically timid the animals are. Its like they know exactly what you are, that you are a threat, and that you can kill them from where you are, despite being 200+ meters away. I have some hunting experience and can tell you it is much easier to get close enough to an animal to shoot it in real life than what this game makes out, even as an amateur hunter. This leads me to how unrealistic their senses are. I don't know how many times I've written to the devs telling them about an animal that has detected me from the other side of a hill, with no line of sight, when I am laid in the grass inching forward at the slowest imaginable pace, sound and sight meter completely flat, and yet they get spooked. Spending 2 hours tracking this one animal, because that is your target, to finally get a big F**K YOU like that really just makes your entire game play experience feel like a waste of your day. The devs are more interested in adding new areas and new equipment rather than fixing the annoying issues that plague this game.
First fucked up “theHunter: Primal” and abandoned it after selling it in EA what is Scummy AF and now this
You need to buy a Tent DLC in order to Save/Load outside of Camp
When you don't have it, and you save the game it will just plop you back at the last Outpost/Camp you found, even if that was several hours ago, what is the point of having a save system? You will literally lose hours of gameplay because of this crap.
To be precise, there are 52 DLCs worth €257.58 ($292.81) ATM.
I understand when it comes to content that's added later and is more than promised.
But I have no understanding for features that should be in the base game for everybody to use without extra cost!
Those Devs are only about money and nothing else and in my opinion they do it the fishy way
Very realistic, even with its steep learning curve just a fantastic game overall
Great game, love the mechanics, but why does everything have to be locked behind a DLC
good game good graphics i love the mule deer and the musk deer so good
Best hunting simulator I've experienced. Feels like I'm actually in the wilderness hunting with my friends. The graphics look amazing.
The game is great because it allows you to hunt the way you want to. The AI in the game respond accurately for the most part, some things are a little off for example when you shoot at an animal they will run around back and fourth zig-zaging often times running directly into you... which can be frustrating the most dangerous animals like bears and cougars never attack, but a turkey or a whitetail will try to take you out almost every time. The animal sounds are so confusing when trying to judge how far away they are. If the animal is 300 yards away it sounds the same as if they were standing right next to you. Basically run around a lot and shoot at animals that pretty much always stay in the same spot. Nothing is really random, it feels like farming more than hunting. The greatest thing about hunting in real life is not knowing where the animals are going to be, which this game is lacking. Have the animals spawn randomly and have more of a variety of antler types would be amazing, if you want to try to hunt down a trophy non typical whitetail, then this game isn't for you. Weapon selection is actually pretty decent, only negative thing is the gear that should just come with the game is only available if you purchase a DLC. Micro transactions are ruining gaming because that is all that game developers really care about, making as much money as they can. Which is really sad but overall I would buy the game.
Best Hunting game I've ever played, It's really fun and relaxing and I love to explore the wildernes, I got tag teamed by 5 wolves first time i was in the snow map.
it's a bit slow if you don't have atv but it's still fun.
I do recommend this game to others, It is quite realistic for a game, and has lots of things to do. You can play alone (as I do) or with others to accomplish your goals and earn game cash so you can upgrade gear and buy ammo. I do think the ammo is a bit pricey as are the weapons and gear. It takes allot of time and patience to earn what you need to grow with the game. You must hunt hard and strive for good shot placement to earn high scores and good cash for you harvests.
Amazing game, wish there was more dlcs and if they were cheaper. the free game guns are all the same. and it would be great if the add more attachments and higher trophy systems
good for starters
and also a good pretty game.
I'm completely and utterly hooked!
Although the game launched in 2017 and I just joined, I'm completely addicted. Never thought I would be to such a low paced game, but I am!
this game is a 8.7/10 for only 20 bucks worth it 100%! but if you see blood and it says very low just leave it its not worth it to chase it i tried
I hated the tutorial. I just couldn't manage to enjoy it whatsoever. Fifteen minutes was enough irritation for me.
At first, I thought this would be another one of many games that sat in my library untouched, save for the first few sessions. Just over 100 played hours later, it's currently the first game I think to jump into.
There's a lot to dislike in the beginning: the learning curve felt steep and the pace was much slower than I expected. Now, I find it deeply relaxing to wander around the beautiful reserves, with the excitement of getting something in your sights enhanced by the contrast from the tranquil meandering in nature.
As added bonuses, the online community is lively, featuring some really engaging streamers who helped me get my bearings, and the developers are very active; there is a ton of interesting DLC that I'm looking forward to trying already, and I'm eagerly awaiting whatever comes next.
Relaxing, slow paced game with pretty maps (that are huge.) Nice music.
how realilistick the hole game was i love all the great ones the maps are so cool some thick like new eglend some open like silver ridge peaks.
very chill and fun game to play super realistic with a lot of different animals to hunt wont get bored even better with friends once 2 bears saw me and they came at me and i pulled out shawty in the melodie in my head it keep ringing like lalalala
Deer god this game is fun, only complaint is that i can't use a throwable spear to cavewoman a water buffalo and that there aren't too many true predators that will hunt you down like the Bengal Tiger, would LOVE more predatorial animals that will make you wonder if you are actually the hunter.
Bruh for almost everything you need to play like quad or better guns but its a good game for old grandpas HEH
Since 1970 animal populations have dropped 70%, but it feels more like 95% in Call of the Wild! And then when you finally find an animal, sneak up on it, line the perfect shot, it's some emaciated bronze star bum. I don't mind spending a real life hour hunting an animal, but the pay off rarely feels worth it in this game.
Some side gripes:
- Dogs, bows, Alaska/Africa, treestands, ATVs, trophy lodges, all the cool hunting stuff is paywalled. The game feels pretty bare bones if you don't don't buy the DLCs
- No sense of progression
- No field dressing or proper harvesting mechanics. You walk up to the dead animal, click confirm and instantly get paid
- Animal animations are pretty janky. You'll rely more on reading the UI than reading an animal's body language to tell if it's getting skittish
That said, the game is gorgeous and can be relaxing under the right circumstances. Major props to the devs for still updating the game too.
Best simulation hunting i've ever played, and quite frankly, the best landscape graphics I've ever seen in my entire life.
this game is so dumb you hit the animal you are shooting right where you are supposed to in real life and the game says non organ shot. Plus i am not gonna crouch walk the whole game you move so slow but thats how you play. This is the game for you if you want to slowly walk around a huge map the whole time and when you finally see something and shoot it perfectly it runs away and never dies
There's a lot of weird disappointung quirks with this game, which seemed like I had potential at first, but now I'm just frustrated enough to not ever play again.
What's the point of having a save system, when the game will just plop you back at the last "outpost" you found, even if that was several hours ago? I literally lost four hours of gameplay because of this crap.
Edit: Apparently, I need to BUY a TENT DLC?! I NEED TO BUY DLC JUST TO SAVE MY GAME!
I'm done. Uninstalling this.
really good game for realistic hunting
This is honestly really fun to play, and surprisingly engaging for all the stealth and patience you'll need to perform. Some glitches, such as deer bouncing off trees like a light reflection striking back at you, slightly ruin the game. When scoping in, it's annoying for them to not load in, despite being the highest graphical level render distance, which isn't realistic. I swear the callers do not work; countless times spending 20 mins + searching for a single deer.
Still, pretty good!
7/10
Somehow after 8 years this is still the best hunting game I have found and because of this the DLC is greedy. Free mods make for a nice improvement.
i highly recommend this game for who can not go out side in world and never had a hunting experience even wondering in these maps is so much peaceful. ULTRA REALISTIC texture environment makes you a better mind set and peaceful experience.
I recommend this game when it goes on sale. If you want a good hunting game, set aside some money, buy the hunting starter pack bundle, a reserves bundle (if you find it), and a weapons + companions bundle (if you find it).
Look over the remaining DLC for anything that catches your eye, I recommend focusing on reserves for the most part; the game and a bunch of DLC is absolutely worth $50 dollars. DLC reserves that are mostly positive reviews are exceptional and imo must-haves (people are not lying about silver ridge), while the others ultimately just depend on your preferences. Read over the mixed review reserves' ... well, reviews .. and decide for yourself if you want any of them. When on sale, a lot of the unpopular maps become tolerable and even fun.
Bought during steam spring sale; very good. Would not recommend buying the game and a bunch of DLC otherwise.
Also don't forget to grab your free DLCs.
I absolutely love this game! It’s really sad that my main account got hacked, especially since I had been playing for such a long time. Even now, I still find it incredibly fun. Luckily, I managed to recover most of my progress by retrieving my old files.
I was never really into achievement hunting in this game, this game was always more about having fun and vibing with friends. However, after my main account got banned, I lost the motivation to go for 100% completion. It was disappointing to lose some progress, but at the end of the day, I’ll keep playing just for the fun of it with my friends.
Overall, I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves hunting games and wants to enjoy the experience with friends!
Takes a few hours to get into and get some high powered weapons. After that its very fun. You need the ATV or you could never explore some of the deep country or mountain top!!! Overall its a fun game if you like stalking or calling in game!!!! The long range shooting is also good!! 243 or 270 ALL DAY!!!
This game is actually amazing. I don't play lots of hunting games but this one is just amazing. The graphics, the sounds, and the atmosphere are perfect for a game like this. The only thing I don't like are the DLCs, but 5 dollars isn't that bad. PLEASE BUY
If your are looking for a fast pace hunting game this is the game to play. This game is very good but one thing you shouldn't do is try to get a great one the second you get the game. I started trying to get one after 50 hours into the game and realized i need a lot of money and time for it. You will get burnt out after a bit. This game is very good but don't rush it.
Whether or not you would like this game depends on the kind of games you like, if you enjoy games that are slow paced then this game is for you. However if you prefer faster paced games then this may not be you, it is worth a try and if you don't like it you can get a refund. Overall, it just depends on whether or not you like these kinds of games.
A fantastically looking game that runs exceptionally well for the visuals it offers. Vast habitats that look stunning and it is surprisingly responsive in its movement/terrain collision. The levels of detail at a distance blend so well that you can't pinpoint separation lines, and it visuallizes the entire world, which is multiple kilometers long/wide. The vistas that are revealed at the top of hills are stunning and accurate (in the sense that what you see - you can go there). Genuinely a fantastic game. More than fantastic. The "story" missions also have full narration, something that even AAA games are missing sometimes. It is worthwhile buying some of the DLCs, which is a bummer that content is separated into DLCs, but the game costs 20 euro without sales and looks and plays like a 60 euro game. I don't think there is anything else that captures the beauty of nature in a better way.
Literally just saw my first ever great one moose the minute i hit 700 hours, this game has become my life and it should become yours too
buy the game now and buy all the dlcs too! (just like i did)
its worth it.
Very good game its amazing and recommended. Pls add the Pamir mountains tajikistan map its my fav idea yet.
