What is annoying about this game is the endless dlcs you have to buy but it is enoug if you buy like 3 ish
I have enjoyed the game a lot and also playing from time to tine
Do I even need to explain? This game is near perfect, maybe should get an update like new guns, new map, etc. Overall 11/10
theHunter: Call of the Wild is, hands down, the best hunting game I’ve ever played. Everything about it—from the stunning graphics to the realistic gameplay mechanics—makes it an unforgettable experience.
The graphics are absolutely breathtaking. The landscapes feel alive, from misty forests and rolling hills to the sound of birds and rustling leaves. It’s one of the few games where I just stop and take in the view.
Gameplay-wise, it nails the hunting experience. The tracking system is deep but intuitive, the animal AI is smart, and the gunplay feels authentic. Whether you're stalking a deer or waiting patiently in a blind, it all feels incredibly immersive.
I also appreciate the variety—different maps, animals, gear, and even time of day/weather make each hunt feel unique. Plus, playing with friends in co-op adds even more to the fun.
If you enjoy hunting games or just want a relaxing, realistic outdoor simulator, this game is a must-play. I’ve spent countless hours in it, and I still keep coming back for more.
great game would like more dog and small game like a rabbit dog and dove
A perfect game to relax and immerse yourself in nature. The hunting experience is not excellent but still very good for a simulation game. The weapon and equipment design is still crude and inconsistent. The missions are sometimes extremely challenging, sometimes too easy.
Strengths:
- Diverse maps, huge game hunting library.
- Moderate difficulty, easy to adapt.
- Beautiful graphics, excellent environment and climate.
Weaknesses:
- Terrain is uncomfortable for both traveling and hunting in some reserves.
- Animal behavior is sometimes unpredictable.
- The inventory interface is not optimized, leading to equipment management being a nightmare.
- Too few interesting weapons to choose from, including DLC.
- Characters holding weapons in a resting position make them not appear in the player's POV much unless crouching or prone, which makes the weapon-holding experience unsatisfying. I hope we will get an active weapon inspection function.
- Spring Creek Manor hunting lodge was a mistake.
This is A great game and the best hunting game I have played. I have played A lot of hunting game but this one is by far the best ever. Get it now!!!!!!!
Unfortunately I can not recommend this game. While I have really enjoyed my time in it the fact that as a completionist with a compulsion to 'finish' mission lines etc; the bugs and parameters not being changed for game changes means its impossible (or for all intent impossible - I would need to hunt over 1000 black bears to see the colour scheme I need for the mission).
It is a shame for if the devs actually fixed said issues which have been around way before i started playing it the game would be amazing.
Fun realistic hunting game, quite a difficult game. But as you progress you will get used to it. And also don`t get upset if you don`t find an animal immediately. It really can take a few minutes.
The game is great to play if you like hunting. They have made it somewhat realistic and I enjoy playing it a lot.
The missions are fun to a point, I don't like that they have made the mission animals so hard to find, because of that it takes quite some time to complete some of them. I wish they would make the game a little more real in the sense that the animals react more natural and bear and deer and other animals react like they do in the real world, but hey it"s a game, so enjoy it.
This is the BEST hunting game I have EVER played. It has so many animals and guns, while being able to play multiplayer.
This game is fun IF you are looking for a hunting simulator, NOT an action game. That means this simulates the actions of: stalking game animals, being very quiet and crawling slowly for extended periods of time, missing your shot by 0.3 inches and chasing the mildly bleeding animal through the woods for eight hours only to find that is nearly worthless. The point is the sport, which also means the guns are less that realistic in their stopping power. I know it sounds like maybe it's not fun but I have 50 hours in it so it can't be that bad.
This game is surprisingly beautiful and addicting. its not overly complicated nor is it super simple, it has a very nice blend in between. the menu takes a minute to get used to but once you do, you wont have a second thought about it.
it reminds me of a really good version of Dangerous Hunts without the danger or the wonk.
i do feel like its lacking in a few aspects. there is a very limited number of weapons to use, same goes with lures and decoys or callers. and what is offered is so far away on the level up by the time you get it. you mastered the art of not having it. theres not any tree stands or blinds of the sort either to buy in game ( i realize theres a tent dlc) there generated spots on the map to build but you dont get the choice of what and being in them is cramped if you stand your almost too tall and if you crouch you cant see out the windows and they are never facing the proper direction which is super weird. i feel like its a highly missed opportunity.
again this game is great. its gorgeous, its peaceful. its fun, its better with friends like anything. i would recommend.
its just lacking on the equipments and modifiers only a few rifles most are just a reskin of itself, 3 shotguns all 12g, 3 bows all 60lb compound, 4 pistols, 4 scopes, couple iron sights 1 antler rattler that only works on roe deer.... for all the detail that went into the trophies and scenery and the cabins that look like something out of cabelas home decore. it really bumms me out how little there is on actual Hunters gear.. but that is my only real negative about the game. i use what they have and do have fun.
I love hunting irl and this is the best hunting games when its not hunting season
Relaxing, chill, and beautiful game. Been playing this game with my dad since I was 13, I'm 19 now in the military, even though we're 1000 miles apart, we still get on here and enjoy the same game we've enjoyed all this time.
bro this game is so fun i recommend playing it and i hope you like it have fun and a graet summer
Best hunting game out the
Pretty much the GTA of hunting xD
Originally played on xBox and have just recently moved over to PC. I cant rate this game high enough for either platform. Constant development, amazing graphics and sounds, realism is spectacular with a touch of arcade
I keep getting lagged out and cant log into my xbox acc. still same thing
SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT
a game where I can kill Bengal tigers and Lions, and nobody and nothing actually gets hurt except but a couple pixels :)
I played this years ago but only got into it when friends wanted to play it. Too many dlc that are over priced for what most should be base game content. Taking a glock and blastin gators like east side baltimore is fun.
I was playing this game when i heard Trump got shot lol.
If you're buying this game for the sole purpose of walking around and taking in the scenery with the occasional break to shoot a Whitetail, then this game is great. The atmosphere is really well done, and I enjoy listening to the sounds of nature as I sit and go about either playing the game or doing household tasks.
However, if you're planning on playing this as a video game with a story, missions to complete and things to do for others, then perhaps you should wait until either a deep sale or you get gifted it. I say wait, but some of the mission bugs have been in the game for YEARS at this point so I doubt they will get addressed any time soon. Support tickets are closed and marked solved even though the issue has clearly not been fixed, and one look in the forums should say what the developers really put the effort into. I'm not saying they don't have talent, but when a mission is still broken for 2 and a half years, then there's an issue somewhere and it's not just with the game. A flag or dialogue trigger is most likely a culprit for a lot of the bugged missions. Might be a case of changing it to another task via an update for the mission to work properly, or even interacting with a POI again. I don't know.
If you want to shoot a bear, buy it. If you want missions to complete and things to see and do, 100% skip. I have already decided to vote with my wallet and I gave my money for the upcoming map to the creators of WRC and got 8/9/10 on Xbox. It may be a better use of my time rather than deal with bugs from years ago.
It's obvious that developers have put in a lot effort creating this game. The maps, the open world, scenery, animals, weapons are all top notch. It is not my cup of tea as walking around for hours just so I can get a glimpse of an animal and might be lucky enough to shoot it. 99% of the time I was not able to kill it and went on to another hours long tracking of a wounded animal never to locate it again. Then again, its just probably me.
Realistic hunting simulator.
Including the part where nothing ever goes as planned.
very good graphics and very good hunting
Good graphics and good animal behaviors however there are only 2 reserves base game and not very many weapons how ever ther are a lot of base game animals you can hunt and online mode let's you hunt on reserves that you don't own
sometimes I've seen this good glitch where i can literally stand in front of a moose and it will just stand there.
great open world hunting game
theres been multiple times where ive domed a buck in the brain with a high calibre rifle and it ran off into the forest to never be seen again just play rdr2 if ur wantin to have a realistic hunt with out buying a real rifle real ammo and tracking down whatever your wantin
This game is fun, relistic, and lets you explore all kinds of maps and animals.
This game are so fun you have to be patience to play this game
theres so many animals that you can explore
and also play with ur friend this is a vast open world
Best game still alive and so relaxing very realistic I wish they could add stress and broken legs sunburns things like that hypothermia needing to keep warm weather changes oh that be sick anyway I've bought it all I live this game it's lit seriously I love this game !
Freedom of exploration, complex ecosystem and breathtaking visuals result in an unbelievably strong sense of communing with nature. TheHunter: Call of the Wild clearly provides with a realistic feel of hunting. Seasoned hunters would adore it, but it may push away casual players.

Personally, theHunter: Call of the Wild is the easiest and at the same time the best game in the hunting simulation genre.
Of course, patience is key to this game.
Nature’s Escape, Anytime, Anywhere
When I’m away from home, theHunter: Call of the Wild™ is my perfect escape. Thanks to NVIDIA streaming, I can dive into the peaceful wilderness even during dull meetings — and guess what? It doesn’t even need a blazing fast connection.
The atmosphere is stunning. The sound of the wind, rustling leaves, and distant animal calls is oddly therapeutic. Whether I’m quietly stalking a majestic elk or just wandering through the forests, it calms my mind like no other game.
It’s not just a hunting game — it’s a digital getaway. And for those long, boring business calls? Let’s just say the forests of Layton Lake are more interesting than any Zoom screen.
Enjoy the view slow down your pace enjoy nature yada yada.
There are times when you need to get from point A to point B. It's painstakingly difficult. And expensive - Aggressively placing vital quality-of-life items as DLC items won't make people spend more.
Multiplayer wastes time for non-hosts on map exploration aspects.
When you get 20 hours a week to burn for this and trained yourself to expect no reward for every 2 hour straight on average, sure go ahead.
I might just suck at the game, but everything is so damn skittish. I would probably benefit from in-game tutorials that explain some of the mechanics that aren't as naturally clear. It's not intuitive what terrain makes more noise, what bush will actually reduce your visibility, or when an animal will actually hear you. As someone with no IRL hunting experience, the game could use more hand holding as to how to actually get better as a hunter. I'd love tutorials that aren't just a wall of text and that give you dynamic feedback as to where you went wrong/ what to improve.
Love this game. Start with the base game and see what you like to hunt, then wait for a sale to pick and choose the DLC that you think you'll enjoy--it's worth it.
Best hunting game ever made, even though I fully suck when hunting for things, when I do get something. It's pretty fun
I've played this game on Xbox for 2,000 hours, I then switched to PC and lost my DLC's but i'm enjoying the game rn. I highly recommend the silver ridge peaks DLC along with the ATV or "Rapid Fire Pack".
This game have amazing Graphic and the view always makes me amaze and snap a lot of picture instead of hunting, lmao. I really in love with this game and it makes me feel peaceful just idling watching the view when I'm resting from hunting.
Like hunting animals this game has it from deer all the way to lions and bears
Please make Turkey hunting realistic. have them roost at night and gobble from the tree in the early morning. add Different types of turkey gear and calls. have them act realistically to calls
Super realistic and fun, as well as rewarding. Also, DLCs are great but not at all necissary. BEAUTIFUL graphics as well :)
After getting used to the functionality of the game's Inventory and Store, I have found that this game is probably the closest to reality all the way down to the time of day the animals move and where. The sound files are as close to reality as I've ever heard on a game. All in all, I would recommend this game to my most experienced hunting buddies as well as new hunters. This could be a good training tool for beginners. Nothing like actually being in the field though.
Great game, great graphics. I do think the animal behaivour should be updated and slighly more realistic, but for the most part its amazing
I think this game has something going for it, one of the only hunting game's that I really grasped and enjoyed. But, the DLC is too predatory and unnecessary. I'm not sure why they don't just make the game $40 bucks and make it come with all of the reserves OR equipment. I think having DLC is fine but right now you just miss out on so much stuff and it makes the $20 price tag seem like bait, especially with the frequent 70% off sales.
I love the game, and don't get me wrong, you can have a lot of fun without needing any DLC. But it should change the way it monetizes itself. And for that I'm negative about this game.
goated game i will be playing it again at some point but just a thing to watch out for is jumpscares from the animals cause i was chasing a moose then it started squaring up with me lol
I see tiger, i aim gun at it. Another tiger is behind me.
This is a horror game.
Very engaging game. Can be easy to just walk around and find animals, but very challenging to find the right quality. I'm also an avid hunter (not just in the game) and i feel that this has helped me with shot placement.
its fun to just walk around hunt animals as the game intent you to, but when your beautiful red deer gets scared off by an overweight furry and his fat furry friends you just want to blow your head off your shoulders
I want to love this game, I really do. Graphics and scenery are just amazing. Its fun to go out for a random hunt every now and then, but this is where the problems start. If you can't invest a HUGE chunk of time into this game (i'm not even remotely exaggerating here), then just don't bother. This is not a game for casual players, or people with a 9 to 5 and a family to spend time with. Progression in this game feels slower than waiting for your internet to load up in the 90s. 200 hours and many, varying kills in and I'm not even half way through a single character progression, or even laid eyes on anything better than a gold. Its said the fastest way to get experience is to do missions, and yet you can spend a 4 hour gaming session just looking for the animal they want you to kill, and simply find nothing. I've lost count of the amount of sessions I have played where I haven't even fired a single shot. I've just been looking for that one deer that the game seems to have forgotten to spawn in today.
Now don't get me started on how unrealistically timid the animals are. Its like they know exactly what you are, that you are a threat, and that you can kill them from where you are, despite being 200+ meters away. I have some hunting experience and can tell you it is much easier to get close enough to an animal to shoot it in real life than what this game makes out, even as an amateur hunter. This leads me to how unrealistic their senses are. I don't know how many times I've written to the devs telling them about an animal that has detected me from the other side of a hill, with no line of sight, when I am laid in the grass inching forward at the slowest imaginable pace, sound and sight meter completely flat, and yet they get spooked. Spending 2 hours tracking this one animal, because that is your target, to finally get a big F**K YOU like that really just makes your entire game play experience feel like a waste of your day. The devs are more interested in adding new areas and new equipment rather than fixing the annoying issues that plague this game.
