This game makes me want to hunt in real life like it make hunting so fun. When you start out the game you probably wont know what you are doing but by the time you get the hang of it it's crazy fun to just go around and shoot animals!!

I don't understand some of the negative reviews crying about how you supposedly have to crawl through tall grass and never get anywhere.
Like, what did you expect? Were you thinking this is Call of Duty and you just charge in with an M4 and gun everything in sight down?
This game offers what it promises: A realistic hunting experience. There's a few dozen animals to hunt down, each requires their own strategy to take down. For example: Foxes are extremely easily scared, but you can lure them quite nicely within shooting distance.
On the other hand: Bison are aggressive tanks that you hopefully don't miss with your first shot (when the first Bison actually started charging me I could feel my heart pound in my chest, scary stuff).
I think they really nailed the pacing of the game. You don't have to wander around for 8 hours to find some game to shoot like you would in real life. Usually you walk a couple hundred meters and you are at least gonna find tracks, or you just travel to one of the need zones littered across the map.
Tracking is intuitive, game doesn't come sparsely (it's almost TOO much), animals are not spooked too easily.
It's a relaxing experience to play this, and ultimately great fun. You can somewhat forgive the occasional bug where an animal gets stuck and just doesn't run. The fact that the maps are massive and have several unique feeling areas makes this more than fine for me.
However, the downside is that the base game offers very little content. Think of buying one of those bundles when it's on sale and treat it as a 30$ game rather than seeing the price and expecting tons of content for it.
In fact, this is where I need to rant:
The 250$ worth of DLCs is really my only criticism. There's several free DLC but this type of "we have a base game without content and just keep shilling DLCs for it" money milking machine should, under no circumstance, be encouraged. I think steam should actively regulate this type of behavior before big game studios get the idea to sell each god damn toe nail for their characters as a separate season DLC content.
This is the Train Simulator type of milking where you have a total worth of DLCs that exceeds the base game price more than 10:1.
I genuinely don't understand why you can't make this a 40$ or 50$ game and just make a bunch of the DLCs into base game content.
Devs: Please, for the love of god, you know how horrible this type of behavior is and you know too damn well that this kills games in the long run. This is the closest steam gets to micro transactions.
It is a very fun game with a lot of animals to see and hunt. Only thing is that there are not many modern rifles like sig cross or some rifles like that. I also think they need to add some surpressors to the game because in real life you have them too and its just so comfartable to shoot in silent without spooking anything in a radius of 100 meters or further.

The maps are huge and theres so much to explore and so many different animals and different variants, the guns are truly realistic and the shooting sounds and effects are AMAZING!
Good game very realistic I would recomend. The reason why I don't have more hr's is becasue I do more duck/feasen/deer hunting irl but this game is dope I would 10/10 recomend!
This game is so realistic, you have to buy nearly every piece of equipment that's worth using with real money. $230 dollars of dlc is criminal.
Very fun game if you like to hunt but it's completely outrageous that all the maps and cool content are sold piecemeal.
to call this a hunting game is just plain deception. This is a walk around a forest for 30 mins to only hear a deer mating call but never see it. I'm glad i bought this dog trash on sale because its just a complete waste of time. Patience is for sure key and ive been overly patient there needs to be more added animals if you're gonna make a map this big and make you crouch walk everywhere which takes fucking forever. A small pace walk shouldn't be red lining my sound. All the parts are overly expensive for just 10 bullets. So many things wrong with this game its fucking crazy.

This is my favorite game ever. I can't wait for them to add more maps, especially another African map.
One thing I also thought would be cool, would be to add 1 Bigfoot to an appropriate future map, as a fun ultra rare trophy. Or even a cryptid map in general for Halloween or something. Just a fun thought.
Very good game overall and has a little amount of bugs in all my time playing. Definitively would recommend this game for all hunters and wanna be hunters out there.
I totally agree if you want to play a hunting game this is your game and if you have the money buy the DLCs when they are on sale but just make sure to get the essential ones but if you want a taiga map buy yukon if you want a easy map to play buy silver ridge map hope that helps
It's quite fun to play except when you die by a dumb moose running you over because it saw you also as a heads up you might also want to get the dog DLC to go with it it's way more fun with a dog to help you out on finding your kill.
This game is really fun. I am a pure beginner and started playing Leyton. I couldn't hit or see any animals for four hours, which was like wandering in a forest park for four hours. It was very eye friendly and helped me restore my vision to 5.0. Novices should buy more DLC expansion packs, as the weapons inside are essential!!
realistic in the best ways, beautiful animals and maps! very immersive gameplay, the only "slow"-paced game i haven't had an issue with. worth the buy!!

I didn't expect to like it, but it turned out that hunting down an animal for hours and then missing a shot brings a lot of fun. It's worth noting that it's also quite fun to play alone, but it was even more fun with a friend.
graphics arent the greatest but they still make you lag but anyways this game is great if are patient im not very patient so i keep losing animals this game is easy to learn but takes so much patience and for a game i got 70% off i rate it overall out of every game catagorie for rating a solid 8.3/10 recommend
This is a really relaxing game. It is just a beautiful environment, and the sounds of nature are really good - even the wind and rain. It is exciting to get a spot on your first game, but the learning curve and patience might scare off a few more action minded players.
Anyway, it is the best PC hunting game in my opinion.

Call of the Wild es la versión modernizada y comercializada de lo que en su momento fue tan sólo theHunter, hoy nombrado como theHunter Classic, un simulador de caza gratuito a manos de Expansive Worlds y Avalanche Studios.
Quizá tome un ratito agarrarle la mano y familiarizarte con las mecánicas base, pero personalmente lo encontré relativamente sencillo de aprender. Lo estuve jugando en cooperativo junto a un amigo y la experiencia fue muy grata, lástima que haya tanto contenido accesible solamente a modo de DLCs.
Es jugablemente cómodo y visualmente muy bello, es de ritmo lento y no puede ser pausado. Por desgracia es un desastre técnico, y se bugea con excesiva facilidad.
¿En conclusión? Excelente respecto a diseño para tratarse de un simulador.
After 70+ hours i can attest to this game being a money pit. Rewards do not match up to costs, tracking is subpar, "aggressive predators" is a joke. I tracked a male lion for 2 miles and all it did was catch scent and run, never circled back to try and flank, never tried to attack, just ran. If you are going to put APEX predators in this game make them act as such. I would much rather fight for my life against a pride of lions than chase one for miles just for it to be in vain. "tracking" causes you to get just close enough to cause the animal to flee, "scent eliminator" still allows animals within 100m to smell you. The game is so large you would think that the animals would have more realistic approaches to situations, however it appears the company is just money hungry and enjoys releasing worthless content.
I bought this game on sale after seeing reviews on reddit. My only other experience with hunting games is RDR2 and the Far Cry series. They are fun. This is not.
I understand the want for realism, but not if it is SEVERELY at the cost of enjoyment.
I understand the existence of DLC, but not if it's necessary to play the game.
This game is horrendously slow. Not "Take your time and immerse yourself" like RDR2 (which some people found too slow). This game punishes you heavily for doing anything except crawling through grass at the slowest possible pace, vaguely pointed in the right direction, with zero visibility of the incredibly tall grass. The second you get up to try and survey your surroundings, you scare off any and every animal in a 100m radius (100m = 5 straight minutes of crawling).
5 straight minutes of crawling, or following 18 sets of tracks without ever seeing the animal is what I would be prepared to do for an animal of some sort of prestige, not for a level 1 basic deer. This game does not get you excited in the beginning, then starts to make things difficult. Instead, right from the tutorial deer, you feel weak and underpowered. Instead of making you feel like you have potential with bigger game, it immediately tells you that you are going to have to struggle for more than 2 hours before you might even consider upgrading your gear to struggle just a little less for the same game. There's no "I just wanna shoot weak prey to practise a bit". You wanna hunt the weakest little rabbit that is worth less than the ammo you use to hunt it? Start crawling from the tutorial zone for 20 straight minutes in grass so tall you can't even enjoy the view and then maybe you can shoot one rabbit and maybe that bullet will do enough to kill it.
I decided to check reddit to see what I was doing wrong. The first comment on the first "help how to I play" thread I found said "go buy the dog and atv dlc". Excuse me? That's the best the community can do for how to play the game? Spend money? Every negative review of this game cites the greedy model the game is sold under. The community is made up of shills that have been brainwashed into thinking they have to pay more than the price of a game for the right to enjoy it.
This game, as well made as some people claim it is, is not fun. It is tedious, extremely monotonous, and slow. I got the game for $8,85 and had to download 91gb worth of files. The entire map worth of animals is 582kb. I cannot fathom what the other 90.99gbs are because its certainly nothing interesting or fun. Buy RDR2 for a better hunting experience plus an entire other game and story to play and enjoy.

Really fun to play once you get the hang of it. Yukon valley is probably the best map in the game would recommend that DLC the most.

If want to Buy just the Base game you won't have access to any Portable Structures
No dogs and the free Trophy lodge is God awful its basically forcing you to buy a DLC one

The game is really fun and the Graphics are really good but the only flaw is that you have to purchase many of things with real money like Maps and Better Guns

Beautiful, relaxing, and when its time to take the shot very exciting! I recommend getting this game only with a few DLC's already installed. The ambusher, Saber, power pack, tents and blinds, and bloodhound DLC make the game 10x better and would not want to be without them on the hunt. Legitametely the most well done and intresting game ive ever played. Merges real life and gaming seamlessely honestly.

Now oh my god this game is beautiful I recommend it 100% the feeling of waiting 2 hours plus to finally get that diamond fa-nominal. Also DLC's get them they are dirt cheap and super helpful for beginners, a good one to get is the "wild goose case" DLC because gooses give you a lot of money and I still use the shotguns today.

Seemingly a game that demands focus on account there can be an animal there one minute and then gone the next. But this game has given me hrs of fun interactive as you are walking threw the brush or the top of the mountains i do re ccomend on getting all the DLC for this game and all the maps for it as well on account you can hunt all over the world in different aspects of geographical features and just an all around great game. Oh and I got it for my son as well so now we hunt together in the comfort of our home. Great buy
I have no idea how to play this game. Changing things like scopes is really unintuitive – and the whole menu is confusing and hard to navigate. Loadouts don’t work at all, and the game physics feel strange. For something meant to be a hunting simulator, it’s missing a lot in terms of realism. The noise mechanics, which should be central, are incredibly basic – instead of a proper noise indicator, there’s a tiny icon that barely works. There’s some effect of vegetation on sounds, but it’s minimal and barely noticeable.
The missions are a complete joke; it’s unclear what you’re even supposed to do. Honestly, this game has a long way to go before it can really be called a hunting simulator.

Was greatly disappointed to get an initial spawn great one, took the fun of the grind away. Would not recommend to anyone who enjoys the release of serotonin released into your circulatory system.

The base game is great, but it gets old after a while. Would recomend buying dlcs.
now THIS is a hunting game, theres weapons, animals, and not much stopping you from playing it less like a hunting game and more like a CoD title, get that .308 weapon pack and just keep running til you find something breathing, and then make it stop! thats the most fun flavor of hunting, and this game captures it perfectly
