for how old this game is your probably reading reviews out of morbid curiosity. if your planning on buying this game just know your buying it because its a dumpster fire compared to its earlier titles for comical relief. it has its moments and I commend the designer for trying to expand on something already existing and playing with the formula. but much like that mid term paper for that project you thought would be your magnum opus, later turns out to be well lets be nice and say, "sub par." the map is wide open with navigation feels like an after thought but at least effective. the process of dispatching your targets often feels "on the rails" almost all the characters feel like carbon copies playing the same. "oh your a kid, a harmless creepy kid, yes you can intrude in my home and go anywhere without my say so," trope of this series even when exploring places like a court house, police station or a strangers home. this game needed mod support from day one and I think better serves that point if anyone was considering making a game presently.
is the game fun..? let me say this. its like microwave food. theres places of it that are the right temp but mostly unpleasant temperature wise, the taste is okay but its plain and with very little substance. there is certainly something better out there but its here now and its cheap. you wouldn't recommend it but you would consume it if it were in front of you and available but you know that by the end of it there was something better you would have better enjoyed.

a bit buggy but not that bad of a game 3/5
While this game has issues (such as bugs, jank and an unpolished exterior) i can't help but really love it as a sequel to the original game.
It brings back so much of what was charming about the original, showing off cool deaths and charming characters. Gabriel especially stole the show, love him.
Ultimately i think if you can handle the series jank by now, absolutely give it a go.
This is genuinely the ending the series deserved.
Even tho its janky I really enjoy lucius
This game comes off as really disappointing when you realize how badly it performs, even on a pretty decent computer. For this reason, I would only recommend buying it in the bundle and/or marked down). However, I do recommend it.
Despite performance issues, I thought the environments were extremely nice and well-made. I've seen some people say the developers didn't seem to put enough effort into the game, but I think they did--it just wasn't quite balanced between visuals and performance. It looked great to me, and especially if you are invested in the story, the visuals do enhance it. I see this a lot in the manor, which you see burnt down. It gave me a big feeling of emptiness and loneliness, and I think it probably took a lot of thought to be able to express the layout, even when destroyed, and understand how to place rubble and all that.
If you can deal with some wonky performance and mechanics, this might be worth checking out! Even if you don't buy it, watching some playthroughs or cutscenes online will be great.
Biggest piece of garbage makes me sad Lucius 1 and 2 were peak!
great flagship of a horror game
stupid game that doesn't know how to be original and plays terribly, but I had so much fun unfortunately. If you enjoy bad games, this is for you

Very boring, not well made
The game was pretty good for the most part. Didn't like how the quality got worse with each game or how Lucius stopped every time you made a turn grater then 40 degrees. But all in all it was a pleasure to play the trilogy. If you are a patient person and like to take a story as it comes then I believe you'll like this series and this game. Gg Gg
I guess this is what i wanted to see as Lucius 3.
It is very clear that they didn´t had any resources left to finish it as intended, but in my opinion it not really matter, because there can be many reasons for it.
It is still buggy like the other Lucius games. You are already here, you shouldn´t care about it.
If you can turn blind eye on the low blood sugar this game runs from Chapter 5, than you got a perfect Lucius game.
I really mean it, It is now my favourite Lucius game.
Many small things makes me feel that way.
-The empty bus with they arrive into Winter Hill and other metaphorical thing like the detective closes the church door after letting in Lucius, but with that he closed himself out from it.
You find out later why is it important.
-Gabriel as new character, who is irritating for me, but he was well written into the story. He is kinda like Lucius, tries to outsmart others to reach his goals.
-Lucius jumps. Not a big deal first and buggy too, but made me realize that yeah, he did growthed since his 6th birthday we first met him. He´s been a lot trough, made many horrible things, nobody really cared about him, even his father and step-father tried to kill him.
But now, arriving into this small town with different people, it feels like coming home. Even the detective became a father figure looking after him.
Now you can kill them all, one by one, almost every friendly or bully neighbors.
It was the second time I felt sorry for somebody, almost for everybody in this game. (First one was the bartender in the first game).
I think they wanted to let the player able to kill everybody, making the end of chapter 5 interesting and maybe they wanted to do a halloween event. At least there is a "scary" cabin for unknow purpose.
After ch.5 the game tempo became really fast till the end, but I think they closed the story properly.
It is clear what Lucius 3 all about. It gives Lucius care and love (in family matter) in the first time his life.
So you decide how Lucius should reflect to it. Just as a spoiler part of the prophecy does too.
Very well written story. Complete opposite of Lucius 2.
As a game... it is not really entertainting. You can fly as a crow, but if you don´t have a crow hearth, than you have to find one or walk a lot. Everything else is point and click gameplay with movie elements.
If the first Lucius was like a movie, the second one a Game, than Lucius 3 could be a serie. Every episode has one kill.
If it wasn´t succeded as a game series sadly, than should try out to be a serie instead.
If you interestd in the story, just try to enjoy it. The writer of it made a phenomenal job.
It was a strange experience, playing all Lucius games. He himself had a well-handled character development trough the triology, while everything else was wary.
I hope Lucius choosed the right decision in the end.
I had a lot of fun
If you enjoyed the previous installments, this finale of the series is worth trying.

A hilarious goddamn mess of a game. Terrible voice acting, awful cutscenes and animations, janky gameplay, random items in the open world you need to progress. A surprise guest appearance from MoistCr1tikal as a Napoleon Dynamite ripoff. A hotkey that lets you turn into a bird and fly around. It is staggering how poorly some of this game works, but honestly I enjoyed myself immensely.
