Welcome to the char-grilled world of Burn Zombie Burn, where the best type of undead is barbequed undead.
The goals are simple: keep Bruce alive, as he tries to keep Daisy alive, and get the highest score possible. Standing (well, ambling) in your way is a never ending horde of the rotting, stinking and stupid undead. Fortunately our mild-mannered hero Bruce can get hold of some tasty weaponry. Burn, batter, shoot, maim, blow up, mince, and obliterate as many zombies as possible before they make Bruce their dinner…
Flaming zombies are faster and more dangerous than regular uncooked zombies. But burning zombies drop better pickups and act as a score multiplier – light ‘em up, score big, and have fun.
Key features:
- A hoard of zombie types – dancers, exploders, armored, infectious, and fire-farting super zombies
- An arsenal of weaponry – bats, guns of all sizes, chain saw, flamethrower, lawnmower, brain gun and groovy dance gun
- Big red button – use weapon combos to enable the big red button and trigger unique level events
- A healthy range of explosives – upgrade your everyday TNT for increasingly destructive explosives and mines
- A truck load of pick-ups – ammo, defense for daisy, rampage, speed, time, TNT, TNT range and type upgrades, and junk food health boosters
- 6 infinite play arenas – The Woods, Graveyard, Suburbia, Drive-in, Army Base, Secret Lab
- 3 game modes – Free Play, Defend Daisy and Timed
- 10 challenges with alternate styles of play
- Super un-lockable bonuses including multiple game rendering modes
- A coffin full of in-game achievements to complete

More than ten years later and this game still slays. Zombie killing made fun.
> Finally decide to tackle Burn Zombie Burn after it's been chillin' in my backlog for eons 🧟♂️🔥
> Game starts off like, "Hey, wanna roast some zombies?" 🎮🔥
> I'm like, "Sure, why not? Let's fry some undead brains!" 🍗💀
> But then it hits me like a zombie apocalypse: this game is more tedious than untangling headphones 🎧🧟♂️
> You gotta wipe out more zombies than a street sweeper to earn a bronze medal 🏅🧟♂️
> Silver and gold? Yeah, good luck with that, your hand will cramp up faster than a middle-aged dad on a trampoline 🤣🥇🥈
> Progression? More like a zombie shuffle of mind-numbing repetition 🧟♂️🔄
> But hey, burning zombies for a score boost is like setting off fireworks in a cemetery – dangerous but oh-so-fun 🎆🔥
> Some zombies are hilarious, like the ones in tutus or rugby gear 🩰🏉
> Others, like the dynamite zombies, are just a pain in the butt 💣🍑
> Graphics? Meh, looks like they raided the bargain bin at a retro game store 🎨🤷♂️
> Music and sound effects? Forgettable, drowned out by zombie groans and my own screams of frustration 🎶😱
> Controls are like your trusty shotgun – reliable but prone to misfires 🎮🔫
> Weapons? Underpowered AF, especially the baseball bat – might as well be swinging a pool noodle ⚾️🍜
> Big red button events start off cool, then become more annoying than a mosquito at a campfire 🔴🔥🦟
> Overall, Burn Zombie Burn is like a fast food burger – tasty for a moment, then you regret it later 🍔😅
> If you're a zombie fanatic, wait for a sale to snag this bad boy 💸🧟♂️
> 5/10 - Flaming good time that burns out quicker than a candle in a hurricane. 🕯️🌀
[The scene opens in Professor Utonium's laboratory. The Powerpuff Girls, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, are deeply engrossed in playing Burn Zombie Burn on a massive screen. Professor Utonium stands behind them, offering occasional tips and encouragement. Mojo Jojo, Fuzzy Lumpkins, HIM, the Gangrene Gang, Princess Morbucks, the Mayor, and Miss Bellum are gathered around, watching with varying levels of interest and excitement.]
Professor Utonium: Alright, girls, keep those zombies at bay! Remember, teamwork is key!
Blossom: Don't worry, Professor! We're multitasking experts!
Bubbles: Yeah, we've saved Townsville countless times. A few zombies won't scare us!
Buttercup: Speak for yourself, Bubbles. These fire-farting super zombies are no joke!
[Meanwhile, Mojo Jojo furiously mashes buttons on his controller, his eyes narrowed in concentration.]
Mojo Jojo: Curse you, Powerpuff Girls! I will prove myself superior in this digital domain!
[Fuzzy Lumpkins sits back with a bucket of popcorn, thoroughly enjoying the chaos on screen.]
Fuzzy Lumpkins: Y'all see that zombie in the tutu? That's pure comedy gold!
[HIM leans in with a wicked grin, thoroughly entertained by the carnage unfolding before him.]
HIM: Oh, how delightful! The flames of chaos dance upon the screen, much like the flames of my own wicked heart!
[Meanwhile, the Gangrene Gang is placing bets on which Powerpuff Girl will score the most points.]
Ace: Five bucks on Buttercup!
Snake: Nah, Blossom's got this!
[Lil' Arturo nods in agreement, while Grubber just shrugs, not really caring as long as he gets to watch.]
[Princess Morbucks, frustrated by her lack of progress, throws her controller down in a huff.]
Princess Morbucks: This is ridiculous! I demand a cheat code or something!
[The Mayor and Miss Bellum watch nervously, occasionally shouting out words of encouragement.]
Mayor: Go, Powerpuff Girls, go! Townsville is counting on you!
Miss Bellum: You're doing great, girls! Just a few more zombies to go!
[As the game reaches its climax, the screen is a blur of explosions and chaos. The Powerpuff Girls unleash their ultimate combo, wiping out the remaining zombies in a spectacular display.]
Professor Utonium: Amazing job, girls! You've once again proven that you're the ultimate defenders of Townsville!
[The room erupts into cheers and applause as the Powerpuff Girls emerge victorious in Burn Zombie Burn.]
Blossom: Another day, another win for Townsville!
Bubbles: That was so much fun, Professor! Can we play again?
Buttercup: Yeah, but this time, I want the flamethrower from the start!
[Professor Utonium smiles proudly at his girls, knowing that even in a virtual world, they will always triumph over evil.]
Ash - Burn Baby Burn
"Burn Zombie Burn"
You're all I've got in this undead twilight
Your rotting flesh and vacant eyesight
But through all the levels and the endless fights
We've never felt more zombified
Stumbling like the undead
Yeah, we're tripping over brains instead
Almost to the point of no respawn
Everything will burn, zombie, burn
Look into my vacant stare
See someone with decaying flair
Limbs that can't be reattached
Oh, this is slow decay in fact
Emotions that I can't revive
And never will be zombified
Oh, something inside has fried
You shamble like you're in a daze
Mindless groans in a graveyard haze
Like all the good times have decayed away
And their memory rots in a moldy grave
Stumbling like the undead
Yeah, we're tripping over brains instead
Destructive gameplay is all we have
Destructive gameplay is all I am
Look into my vacant stare
See someone with decaying flair
Limbs that can't be reattached
Oh, this is slow decay in fact
Emotions that I can't revive
And never will be zombified
Oh, something inside has fried
Cruel zombie bites,
Becoming more and more infectious
But you always keep respawning
And let me feast on your flesh
Stumbling like the undead
Yeah, we're tripping over brains instead
Almost to the point of no respawn
Everything will burn, zombie, burn
Look into my vacant stare
See someone with decaying flair
Limbs that can't be reattached
Oh, this is slow decay in fact
Emotions that I can't revive
Living in a zombie jive
Something inside has fried
In a game called Burn Zombie Burn,
Where the undead would twist and would churn,
With weapons alight,
They'd put up a fight,
And toast those zombies, oh so stern!
There once was a zombie so grim,
Whose chances of winning were slim,
But with flames all around,
It fell to the ground,
And joined in the zombie death hymn!
In the depths where the undead did creep,
Heroes rose from their peaceful sleep,
With molotovs bright,
They'd light up the night,
And turn zombies into crispy heap!
In Burn Zombie Burn, oh so dire,
The undead would never retire,
But with brains and brawn,
They'd go on and on,
Until those zombies would expire!
one of the most badass zombie games out there (EMPHASIS ON ONE OF THE MOST) black ops 2 still numba 1!!
This game has the perfect hook in theory but the execution leaves a *lot* to be desired.
*The technical issues*
Playing with a keyboard and mouse is an effort in frustration, instead of binding the mouselook direction to your local position it's global so as you move your cursor drifts further from you and makes aiming incredibly painful and frustrating. The hit box detection is all over the place and most melee weapons will damage you more times than the enemy especially with the "random" interrupt that enemies can cause on collision. LastLy the enemy AI that is apparently scared of fire will sometimes respond to fire and flee and other times continue to run straight through your fire and attack you. It's seemingly random as I could not reproduce the effects in any way (distance, direction, speed etc). Lastly for some reason you cannot fullscreen the game which makes playing it painful as you mouse out of the window constantly.
*The Gameplay*
The levels are all the same and the drops from the enemies are barren, this mystical TNT that will help push your score sometimes won't drop for a 15minute game making the content and scoring slow, boring and tedious. I was amused for a few minutes and then deeply saddened. Nor worth your time, there's a lot better out there.
Really fun game! Killing zombies is addicting. This game would be a great choice if you are bored and want to have some fun!
If there is any one thing that draws a lot of attention, it's zombies. To be honest, the word "zombie" in the title of a game piques my interest as well, so I was more than happy to take a Burn Zombie Burn! test drive.
First off, what is Burn Zombie Burn!? A PSN exclusive, Burn Zombie Burn! is an over the top kitschy mock-up zombie tribute game, sharing gameplay similar to a Geometry Wars style shooter. You'll play as a main character that vaguely resembles a Bruce Campbell-esque hero armed with chainsaws, various guns, and of course, torches to Burn Zombies. The undead you face will vary from small time standard zombies, to exploding zombies, to hulking beast zombies; each with slight variations in defeating them. Having a co-op buddy works best against the big guys, and its a bad idea to chainsaw a monster that'll explode when you get too close. Burning zombies are worth more points, but are also faster and more dangerous as they get close.
The key to this game that brought it back from the brink of being fed to the zombies, is the L1 button. This button allows the main character to auto aim while shooting, thus improving the smoothness of gameplay significantly. Your goal changes from; Run to a corner and buckle down until you die, to; tread slowly, and clear a path as you move around to pick up items and upgrades, while at the same time boosting your score with loads of kills.
lacks substance and very quickly becomes a grind. i'm completely mystified how one is supposed to actually play rounds as long as some of the in game rewards suggest.
Decent little dual stick shooter. Critics are brutal on it, but it's fun. Might wanna pick it on a sale though.
Do me a favor, do it, do it.
Fun game.... little mindless but that lends to the beauty of it. A definite fall-back on a rainy day.
This is an objectively bad game. The controls are a mess, everything feels clunky, and you just get bombed by random zombie spawns that damage you before you can really move around. Guns feel bleh, visually it's got all the appeal of a newgrounds game. Do not for *any* reason pay $10 for this, as there are better free games on mobile even. I hate leaving negative reviews, because it means I've played a VERY bad game.
Good arcade shooter akin to Smash TV, BUT... some niggly oversights stop it being truly fun.
Firstly, won't go full screen, always seems to be windowed. Secondly, doesn't seem to properly support my Xbox game pad (no aiming!). Thirdly, the explosions damage you AFTER they have already gone off which is really counter-intuitive.
Great styling though. Just needs tweaking.
This was in my backlog for years. I probably should have left it there. The whole game is so tedious. You have to kill so many zombies just to get a bronze medal. Forget about the other medals. Your hand will wear out before you get a gold.
Progression and achievement in this game requires mind-numbing repetition. It gets pretty boring rather quickly.
I bought this during the Steam Summer Sale 2017 and thought I was getting a great bargain at 80% off. The game looks incredibly fun, and I was hoping to add the 100k zombies killed achievement to my profile after some time.
But after loading the game itself, it crashes every single time I try to launch it and play.
Come to find out, the Devs have abandoned it a long time ago. Yet it's still being sold to unsuspecting suckers like me :(
Stay away from this broken, abandoned game.
Cute game and a decent diversion for 30 minutes. If you are looking for something to crush some zombies for a very short period of time, it's ok. But as a game, it does not stand up. It is too short and there is little point in playing (no progression to speak of).
Plus: Burning, shooting, cutting, chopping, blowing up zombies of all sorts. Decent graphics and KB/Mouse controls.
Minus: No real storyline, wave progression, play until you are overrun, get high score, exit game.

Short version:
Pros:
+ Decent in short bursts
+ Weapon and zombie variety
+ Great combo concept
+ Pop-culture references
Cons:
- Weak graphic design
- Poorly implemented mechanics
- Unfair difficulty
- Shallow, boring gameplay
- Wonky hitboxes
“Long” version:
Just like Atom Zombie Smasher, Burn Zombie Burn! is one of my first Steam games. It was developed by doublesix and published by P2 Games.
While I thought it was a somewhat good game back then, I recently came back to it in order to 100% it and, sadly, it does not hold up.
The game does not feature a story - the protagonist is here to kill zombies and chew bubble gum and he is all out of gum (this is an actual quote in the game). While it has some cute references to pop culture, such as Michael Jackson's Thriller, They Live or Night of the Living Dead, Burn Zombie Burn! does not provide any compelling characters; but honestly , it doesn't have to, twin-stick shooters don't need a story - they live and die by their gameplay.
Unfortunately, the gameplay is only serviceable. The controls are responsive enough, but every mechanic around them is poorly implemented. Burn Zombie Burn! features a high risk - high reward concept in its combo system - with the right mouse button you can set zombies on fire, making them way faster and more dangerous, but at the same time, worth way more points (it is mandatory to use this technique for metals). Thing is, this mechanic is too unfair. The zombie hitboxes are all over the place - sometimes one does the attack animation, you are far away, but you still get hit. On the other hand, you have some zombie attacks clipping through you and dealing no damage.
You get some weapon variety but most guns feel underpowered - the baseball bat, for example, is terrible. You will get damaged constantly when using it because of the lackluster hit detection. Zombie variety is good; some zombie types are quite humorous - zombies in tutus, zombies in rugby gear that charge you, etc. The only enemy type I did not like was the dynamite zombies, who self-detonate on you. Even though they also kill other zeds in the area when killed, they are too fast and too plentiful.
You also have a few other game modes but they are not good. One in particular, where your girlfriend, Daisy, is in a car chewing bubble gum and you have to defend it was a pain in the neck.
Graphics are subpar - while cartoony, they lack a distinct style. It looks like an early PS2 game.
You get to visit some typical zombie-movie environments such as a graveyard, a drive-in theater, a military base and an underground laboratory, but they look very generic and lack visual detail.
Music is there, I guess. Not only is it not memorable, it gets muffled by zombie groans and all the shooting. Sound effects have low quality and lack impact.
Burn Zombie Burn! Is somewhat enjoyable for 20 minutes at a time but you are better off playing other games, such as Assault Android Cactus+ or Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved.
It aged poorly and lacks replay value, making me unable to recommend it. Even on a sale, you can certainly find a plethora of better titles on Steam.
Final score: 4.5 out of 10.
If you enjoyed this review, please consider joining my group and following my curator page on Steam.
A fun little distraction if you can get it for $5 or less. My only problem is its a 'play until you lose' game where there dosent seem to be an end to fight to, you just keep going until you run out of lives and add up the score. Would be infinately more enjoyable as a coop game!
3/5
Nota: 2 / 10*
*Só por que não tem modo online.
It's Nation Red for Kids. Top down point and click shooter with endless waves of enemies. I've played flash games better than this. The weapons try so hard to be HILARIOUS and RANDOM that the end up being utterly useless. This game is awful, avoid at all costs.
I like this game. It has an addictive quality to the levels and there is enough gut spilling explosions to prevent the zombie hoards from becoming too frustrating. What's your favourite weapon?
