In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God saw all that he had made, and it was good. Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
'Ooops,' said god, seeing he had created a fool. But before he was able to remedy his error, man spoke;
'No backsies!' he chirped, and scuttled off into the forest.

Didn't expect the ending.
This absurd graphic adventure takes place in a serie of Renaissance paintings and the main character has to commit all seven capital sins in order to be absolved. Don't worry, it makes sense in the context.
The only flaw of the game is that it's fairly short, but if you're into either point-and-click or art (or both) give it a try.
Moderately entertaining and silly game. The puzzles weren't crazy difficult, but a few required a bit of thought to figure out. Overall an enjoyable, if short, experience. Worth it on sale.
An enjoyable Point-And-Click romp with some fine appreciation for classical and renaissance art pieces. Quite the nice humor and puzzles to go along with it as well. I do take some slight issue with some items you need to grab blending in with the environment far too easily, alongside the playtime, but regardless, still a fun time.
Definitely a recommend for anyone who enjoys both the genre and art period.
Art
A quick, fun, and silly game.
Really loved the lighthearted approach and so many paintings of the Old Masters, very nice!
Fun but you can finish it in a couple of hours. Okay for a couple bucks.
Medieval ... Monkey Island? Yup. Never would have put those two things together but it absolutely works.
Good puzzler, very well put together and japes with old ale (or urine) abound.
Pathetic.
A funny and delightful point & click that'll give your brain a moderate test working out how to commit all seven deadly sins. It also looks beautiful in an arty way
Waat a fun game. Sit down for a couple of hours with a drink and enjoy the experience.
This is quite a short point & click adventure game, but it is a gem for sure.
I spent roughly 2 and half hours on this game, and that included getting all of the achievements. I actually wanted it to go on for longer as I was really enjoying it, but the given the premise it makes sense that it was the length that it is. I'm not going to say too much about the premise as I think it's better that you find out for yourself what the goal in this game is, but I think it is a really fun concept.
At the heart of this game is a silly (and a little crude) humour. The description itself says "It's kind of like if Monkey Island had been made in 16th century Flanders, by a time-travelling Monty Python fanboy", and I think that sums it up pretty well.
I really enjoyed the humour in this game and I love that it is contrasted by the art-style literally being composed of renaissance art which is known in general for having a very serious and illustrious feeling to them. To those that play a lot of point and click games, when a character has something you need, you expect to have to find something they want... not offer a "sexy little dance" and then watch your little character twerk his way to getting free sh*t.
I love art, and love being in art galleries and artistic spaces, but I don't know a whole lot about renaissance art (or classical music for that matter). I maybe recognised little bits here and there and it was a lot of fun seeing things that I have seen before pop up in this game. If you are a big fan of art of this era, I can imagine that this game would be even more amusing to you.
The music is in game is fun, and it felt different to what you would expect in a video game. I don't think I could name another game that plays classical music as the main soundtrack, and it fits so well in this game.
I really enjoyed the fact that each scene actually has musicians playing in it, and better yet, if you interact with them your character will tell you what they're playing. It's a small detail that I really enjoyed.
The puzzles in this game are also pretty good. I find with this genre, that games can go wrong if it's too easy or the puzzle solutions are a bit nonsensical. Thankfully everything in this point & click is logical, so for me it struck a good balance.
In terms of achievements I would say this game is a pretty easy 100%. There are some missable ones, but they are easy to go back for.
Overall I love this game, and I was actually really happy to see that the developer has made a few others of a similar style, so those went straight on the wishlist.
A Divine Comedy of Absurdity
I've played Four Last Things start to finish many times, and it still stands unrivalled in its wit, charm, and clever puzzles. The humour here is everything. sharp, irreverent, and completely original. The puzzles are inventive and satisfying, each one a delightful twist that keeps the experience fresh. This game is so unique that I truly believe it could never be replicated. It’s my absolute favourite in the trilogy, and every playthrough reminds me why it remains a point & click masterpiece.
A short and quite funny point and click with art made entirely out of classical paintings and music. The puzzles weren't as straightforward as I'd expect them to be, judging from the short playtime. But they also weren't too hard. If you're a fan of absurd humor, you should like the game - it does have the vibe of Monty Python animations.
Well this is definitely a game of all time. Its very clearly a satire point and click adventure that requires a bit of thought or a guide for some things [spoilers](I'm too dumb to read!)[/spoilers]
I honestly can't say much without spoiling the experience, other than I was pleasantly surprised, and for the price of $3.74AUD, its definitely worth it.
I'd recommend it if you enjoy bizarre, surreal games, as well as classical art work and satire. Maybe if you Monty Python as well you'd like this.
Pretty pictures
bit overhyped?
most "paintings" have no interactions
and way to short
Bring some bloody culture into your sorry and sinful life.
Short, funny, and sinful.
1/3 of one of the weirdest trilogies in video game history. Joe Richardson has done it again and gifted us with yet another delightful point-and-click adventure composed of various art pieces from the Renaissance period. An animated montage of Renaissance art and music that’s been cut, mangled, and pasted to create a smart and funny tableau of LucasArts-style narrative with Monty Python awesomeness.
It's funny, but not that funny. Definitely not worth the full price of almost 10 euros. I mean, there are only 14 screens, and it took me about two hours to complete the game.
But I can definitely recommend it at a discount.
If you like Monty Python and point & click games, then this game is for you. It's a short game, about 1 hour long.
Short, but incredibly funny and with a great premise.
One-of-a-kind visual style approach and fun to play. Although it may be short, I still think it's worth recommending.
Monty Python, Monkey Island, classical music, paintings. This was a very fun and short thing. I fully intend to purchase and play all of his other games now.
Very short, but sweet.
Mechanically, it's a fairly traditional point-and-click adventure, but the use of Renaissance art visuals and diegetic classical music give Four Last Things an identity all its own. Thou shalt LOL.
Such a unique, fun, scandalous little game. So well made! 5 Stars. Would sin again.
Four Last Things – A Renaissance Riot
Four Last Things is like Monty Python stumbled into a medieval art gallery and couldn’t stop cracking jokes. It’s absurd, clever, and hilariously irreverent.
Four Last Things is a charming game full of point-and-click witty, religious dark humor that's built off of Renaissance-era art and music. Unfortunately, as a sinner, you must commit all of the 7 deadly sins again in order to be granted the right to confessions before you encounter the four last things: Death, Judgement, Heaven, or Hell. 6/10
Like another of your games, this one is funny too!
As a kid in museums I would always imagine myself in the paintings I was watching, It was always an interesting experience as sometimes you would have proper Heaven and Hell scenarios like Hieronymus Bosch. Where pain and suffering was so easily visible next to the far reaching paradise that is heaven. It's a chaos that this game recreates, and I never thought a point & click game could not only be this good, but be this interesting. It's a genuine fun experience that showcases and recreates art in a liveable sense I haven never seen before.
Funny, sarcastic and a little bit mean. Happy sinning!
Just finished the game, loved it! A little but of a puzzle wrapped up in comedic writing about Christianity, short and sweet.
Quick game, but enjoyable
This is a fun little point-and-click game made with plenty of charm. It’s just the right length, avoiding the frustration that can come from too many complex puzzles. The main objective is simple: commit the seven deadly sins and confess them to the church.
The game doesn’t overwhelm you with too many areas, making it manageable without feeling repetitive. You’re given a limited set of items, and unlike some other point-and-click games, you won’t find yourself trying every item on every object just to progress. The key is to focus on committing the sins, and if you ever feel stuck, simply move on to the next sin (they’re somewhat interconnected).
Be aware that you can miss certain achievements, but I recommend playing through the game first and using a guide afterward to collect them. The intro is brief, so you can quickly jump back in and focus on the missed achievements.
My only real complaint is that some areas are easy to overlook. There were two locations in the back alley that I only discovered after consulting a guide.
Overall, it’s a short, satisfying game with a clever concept and a good balance of puzzles. I’d recommend it for fans of the genre looking for a short, enjoyable experience.
So much fun.
calling this a masterpiece is a tad bit pretentious
I started with "The Procession to Calvary", the second game in the series and pretty much an amazing piece of art, and I must admit that Four Last Things is a bit of a warmup in comparisson. Shorter, more humble, not as funny, and just not as powerful in general - but it was still fun, and it's surprising to see how well did Richardson manage to estabilish his unique style so early on.
LOVE. Feels like this was made for me specifically. A click and point game with a healthy dose of stupid? Art and Music? I'm obsessed with this game and its sequels.
First time in my life I literally solve a puzzle by being AFK while drinking my tea.
silly game, what more is there to say
Hilarious love letter to the renaissance art. Kudos to the dev!
A humorous and quirky adventure. Visually stunning, and rather compact, easily finished in a few hours time. Some of the puzzles are a tad tricky, but the game sets you up without much hassle. Absolutely worth checking out.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Short and charmingly funny point and click game making great use of classical art. Good puzzles with only a couple logical leaps I had to look up (mostly I knew what to do—just not how many times I had to do it in some cases).
enjoyable point and click game, though i was expecting it to be longer. my one critique is that, while i understand our protagonist is a sinner, not allowing me to feed/pet the stray dog was truly the most egregious sin of all.
charming as it is, pick it up on sale. i dont think id pay full price for how short the experience was. i did also have to look up a hint just because i didnt realize you could pick up the jug by the landowners because of how it blends in with the rest of the artstyle. i think having a stronger way of differentiating what items you need from the environment would prevent players from mindlessly clicking everything in sight in case its a collectible (but would also cut down the games runtime, i imagine.) so i guess thats 2 critiques!
I don't get the hype. I was attracted by the art, but it turned out to be just another silly humour game. Very disappointing.
Wonderfully bizarre little puzzle game. You can figure out most of the puzzles, although there were a couple of logic leaps that I couldn't quite make without looking them up. Very amusing as long as you aren't too uptight about religion.
This game is a piece of art, I was always stopping to watch the scenes and the artstyle and the music is really nice as well. Very pleasant experience
