Game is dead and so is the community. But I still think its a good game
If you have friends:
By all means, fun party game.
If you don't have friends, and want to play as Investigator:
Investigator solo is in my opinion still worth it, its hard, but definitely not impossible, and will be fun for quite a few hours as the monster AI is pretty good too.
If you don't have friends, and want to play as monster:
I actually don't recommend this one, while monster AI is great, investigator AI is bad and lifeless, they will just walk in random directions until they suddenly bee-line an objective, they don't actually see you until you grab someone, and will only shine a light at you if you purposefully walk in front of them before they turn around. Will be fun for a few matches, but gets older A LOT faster than investigator.

This game lowkey kinda stinks. It's not even scary and I'm afraid of everything dawg like.... it's mostly just frustrating. Also there is literally no one playing it so you have to play solo which is MID. IT'S BORING AND THE AI SUCKS. You can't even see the monster until it is literally right at ur cheeks. Like hello please fix that if you want ppl to play ur stinky game?????? The controls r lame there's like nothing to do. My friend and I also could not find how to make a lobby together, so we couldn't even do that - although that def could've been an issue on our parts. Still, it wouldn't even make it that fun. There's like 6 billion other games we could play with this concept better executed.
I played this game a long time ago and really enjoyed it. Playing it again today with the same group of friends is just as fun as it was several years ago. If you like horror games and you have a group of friends that you can play them with I highly recommend getting this game and getting it for your friends too. If you don't have anyone to play this game with, don't bother because this game is SUPER dead and you will be playing with bots 99% of the time.
This game is honestly one of the best horrors, the people saying that its "unplayable" because there is no active player base at certain times, clearly have no idea what they are talking about and are crap at video games, the game is definitely playable solo and i play by myself, its just idiots that want people to play with because they clearly have no friends which isnt surprising in the slightest. ignore idiotic reviews by people like "obey the fist" and enjoy the fleshed out horror experience you'll find in this game

I'm really neutral about this game, on one hand the concepts for this game sound amazing the only huge problem this game has is that this game is completely dead and the only ways to play the game nowadays is with friends or solo mode with bots which honestly isn't that fun.
It's a shame really, i wish this game had more active players.
One of the best horror games I've played
Sadly not worth getting unless you plan on playing with friend's there's like no one playing it even tho its not a bad game but that's the only reason i would say don't get it.
