Has a few glitches on controller but overall a decent play. I really love the nostalgic feeling this game has to it. I would definitely recommend

Fun and enjoyable John Wick type of action game (just mostly without the hand to hand combat). The hazy cut scene filter gets annoying and I wanted a bit more variety of action, but still a solid game of this genre.

Its an enjoyable game with over the top level action which is actually good.

Right from the get-go Im talking launch screen and the first couple of chapters its obvious the devs took a long, hard look at their earlier work. There’s this unmistakable nod to the original games, especially in how they’ve kept that gritty noir vibe alive. I mean, Im well into that whole internal monologue thing Max just doesn’t shut up, does he? But that’s what makes it brilliant. His constant moaning, bleak observations and bitter sarcasm all hit harder when layered over the backdrop of depression and booze-soaked despair.

A much needed conclusion to Max Payne. This game gives Max a closing character arc after letting him suffer in his own agony for decades. I appreciate this game.

Snappy gameplay and a well paced story will keep you interested. The level design can be forgettable but they don't last too long.

Reached Chapter 12 and closed game properly. Progress didn't save. I Don't want to start from chapter 8 and do it all over again.

This game is nonstop fun brutal and in your face non forgiving combat I love that the multiplayer scene is still active regardless of tryhards and campers and cheaters the game is amazing still through all these years

I know lot of people (included me) didn't like MP3 at the release time due to the big changes but playing it now I can clearly see I was wrong, very wrong. The gameplay is very good, the story is good, the story telling is very good, the pacing is also good. My only complain is that it's a bit short. Under 8h for basically a blind run is just a little too short, even if I didn't look around for all the clues and golden gun parts. Not having a game editor/sdk feels bad too, I'd love to play custom level!

Last I played it I was a kid, will it still be as good? I thought to myself before starting this game...the answer came to me in Max Payne's voice as I forced myself to stop...yes...yes it is"

If you played the other Max Payne games I feel like this one did a great job tying up the series for now. You got your painkillers, slomo, grittiness and the classic Max self dialogue throughout the whole game. The only two things I had a gripe with was the new last man standing mech they added along with how clunky the aiming felt at times. I know in the Old School difficulty it gets rid of last man standing but not sure if I want to sit through another playthrough hearing all the dialogue again lol. It does get a bit old at times. Somehow the aiming felt a bit smoother in the older games but maybe I'm just misremembering things.

If you're a fan of the series or just a want a good story with non stop action, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this one and you should definitely grab this on a sale considering how short the game can be. Now just to wait for the OG Remaster!

Amazing game super ahead of its time, I wish multiplayer was still active so I could 100%.

Amazing game, great graphics, the shooting has weight and feels great combined with bullet time and other things., the story is great too, was nice seeing max finally retire. The textures are a bit outdated but its not that noticeable since the game itself is very fast. The only problem is the constant cut to cutscenes, except that a classic max payne game with the same dark and gritty voice in the background.

made me have depression and also trained me to dive roll and dodge in bullet time
it is a pretty fun game and i reaaallly recommend it, it has a somewhat dark and depressing tone that i love.

underrated game tbh, surprised never heard people talking about it. love the mechanics of slow motion and all that story could be better in the way of telling it too much unnecessary yapping but if u dont really care about that and love shooting games this is a w game especially the pistols remind me of red dead shooting. would definitely recommend this game especially for its price!

I’ve beaten this game multiple times on different platforms over the years and it never gets old. A true masterpiece that doesn’t get the attention that it deserves.

Great story, great characters, unmatched shooting mechanics and it still looks amazing to this day. It’s a totally brutal and badass game that would never get made in today’s politically correct climate. Check it out!

Max Payne 3 illustrates the hard life of Max Payne . As a person who suffers from depression, i understand Max Payne fully and lots of time i even recognised myself with him. A final scene where he goes off into the sunset says a lot that even after hardest struggles there is always a good ending. Thank you Max Payne and RIP James McCaffrey. You were a truly Max Payne

Well, it's Max Payne. ... By Rockstar Games instead of Remedy Entertainment. Is it any good? YES!

And to be perfectly honest here... Rockstar Games knew very much that the original Max Payne was 100% solid perfection, and pure gold as a third person shooter. Hard to fuck that formula up, to be honest making a new Max Payne in it's simplicity in terms of gameplay which consists of short loops of bullettime mayhem and so forth. It's worth saying that the original Max Payne game had a very simplistic gameplay loop, but also had that gritty pseudo-horror-noir atmosphere which is kinda hard to categorize to this day. But this one is different and alas has a very different kind of "beat" to it in terms of atmopshere and feeling.

The gameplay is great with this one, for sure. And that's what matters in the end, in my opinion. Everything else? I don't know but it's GOOD. Whatever the fuck Rockstar Games were thinking while tampering with our beloved franchise, hopefully Remedy will remake the original one and blow this one out of the water.

What a fire game, great soundtrack, great feeling gameplay once you get use to some of the bits of jank, and overall fantastic end to the story.

wish this game ran, i followed countless tutorials on youtube.. rockstar games services will not connect.. honestly if i paid for the game i should be able to run it offline anyway...

DRM fing sucks a** on this single player game i got this on steam..... why is there a 2nd client to go into the game ???????????? i would say NO do not get any rock S**T games bc they will keep taking. They are so greedy what do they have now ? GTA and red dead. read dead is dead, they just have gta with their predatory microtransactions.

This game was great and the story was cool. I do feel like they overdid the jaded ex-cop with a troubled past trope though. I mean, everything goes wrong for him all the time. But it fits right in with Rockstar's style.

I think steam should ban all games utilizing third party apps. WHY do i need rockstar app? I already have steam. This game is mid/avg. + third party rockstar ap = below avg. steam has the power. They should say F*** your game if you force third party ap download to run it.

This is a pretty solid third person shooter action game.

This is not a Max Payne game.

Feels more like a GTA or RDR kind of game, but not Max Payne... no atmosphere, no comic transitions, no dramatic story. If you loved the first game and liked the second, this will probably leave you kinda disappointed.

One of the best shooters I’ve ever played. The whole jumping in the air in slow motion and shooting enemies is so fun.

The only game out there where you can play as a fat f.ck whose hobbies includes PTSD, eating painkillers for breakfast/lunch/dinner, talking to himself/inner thoughts drama, and killing bad guys.

Amazing Shooter Game! Still holds up really well in 2025. 9/10 would recommend. One thing that really surprised me though was how good the game looks but how little power it needs to run. Any card can run it at decent settings or even max settings.

For a 2012 game, the gameplay is smooth and cool. Furthermore, the story is engaging, 10/10 ost and the voice acting of Max Payne is great it's like watching a movie.

You can play the game if you didn't play the other 2 games.

Definitely a cool and entertaining game, though I'd recommend playing the two first games to understand Max Payne's character development better.

This is one of if not the most fun first person shooters, amazing gameplay, amazing music, amazing voice acting, amazing story, everything works and is perfectly paced

Max Payne 3 seems to have nothing in common with the previous titles, which is both good and bad. After all, the game turned out to be an interesting action movie in the Rockstar style.

The combat system itself is very similar, if not the same as the one we see in GTAV, so the gunfights are interesting, dynamic, but Max obviously lacks agility, so at some points you feel clumsy.

I couldn't get away from the feeling that this is not Max. It's not the Max we saw in the first and second parts, even though he's trying very hard to be. Here we are playing as a prototype of Michael from GTAV. Because of the similarity of mechanics and overall feel to GTAV, it feels like we've played a prequel to GTAV and learned more about Michael's past.

Either way, it's an enjoyable game worth playing if you're looking to have some fun with a typical action game. But if you want to feel the noir of the classic series again, I wouldn't recommend making big bets on it.

Where do I even begin...

This game is gritty, cinematic, and just straight-up intense. The gunplay is super satisfying, and the bullet-time mechanic? Still one of the coolest things in a shooter. The story's dark and emotional, and Max as a character is just raw and broken in the best way. Visually, it still holds up surprisingly well, even today.

Yeah, the cutscenes can break up the action a bit, but honestly, the storytelling makes up for it. If you're into story-driven shooters or you're a fan of John Wick-style action, this is an absolute must-play.

One of the best third-person shooters out there.

As my first intro to Max Payne, I had a blast. The game mechanics were unique, and left me yearning for more. An aggressive, grumpy, and almost nutty adventure.

i played it on 360 and played it here recently, its still fun as it was about 9 years ago.

Great playable single player session action. I'm not a multi player fan, preference is for single player strategy. KISS = sorry, short attention span for boring games in a busy working environment. The pace of this game suits my limited playtime availability. What can I say, good plot, expensive extras not required, integrated cut scenes fill out the story. An enjoyable game, it's not life. Sort of akin to a good movie, not a box office hit. Try it out, I highly recommended for those who are sick of ridicules paced slash and dash fantasy crap.

It's one of the best games that happens in Brazil with a huge story that seems to never end and it's alittle hard but besides that it's a pretty good experience and i will probably replay it when i get a better pc.

Just a classic slomo gory shooter thats fun i highly recommend even with the whole needing the rockstar launcher

-The game crashed only a few times, failed to load repeatedly. But nothing too bothering.
-Pretty simple cover and shoot. Guns don't always carry onto the next stage, so it sucks hoarding and not being wasteful with ammo, only to have it reset.
The early flashing and light work during cinematics was really bothersome. unnecessary and really awful lol
-Fun game, if you played the older ones you will definitely get the nostalgia from the voice over.
But unfortunately that is about it, doesn't really tie in to older games except a few references.
Just a quick new max payne adventure and without the old format even. Wish they would have done more. More fleshed out characters, people close to him, instead just another modern game with max payne slapped on it.
STILL fun though, still worth playing.
FYI. Achievements DO work. They weren't showing while I played but they did after I finished game.
