NOTE: You must add your own game ROMs. Setting up New Retro Arcade: Neon may seem like a daunting task. It is indeed a labour of love. If you have no knowledge concerning emulation, or you’re expecting a fully working arcade with pre-installed game ROMs, then this game may not be for you.
We are trying to be as transparent as possible. Please consider the above before purchasing Neon, we do not want you to be disappointed and potentially regret your decision based on not properly reading the games description. After all, it’s your hard-earned money.
About the Game
New Retro Arcade: Neon is an Emulator Frontend where you can add and play your own game ROMs in Virtual Reality. (Can be played without a VR headset) There is support for over 30 arcade cabinets, 18 console cartridges and 10 handheld games for you to setup and play using your personal collection of game ROM's and our Arcade Builder tool. With over 10 mini games including Zombie Problem II, Aimbot, Bowling, Air Hockey and Skeeball, there are plenty of memories to relive!

Despite the frustratingly slow development progress, the pain of setting it up, the inaccuracies pointed out in other reviews, and the game certainly leaves me wanting a bit more... I still find myself coming back to it and haven't once considered refunding. I feel a lot of the gaming, and especially VR community has become spoiled to expectations... but despite the bugs it's solid. Playable roms, customizable cabinets, upload your own movies, etc. It's a long ways from being perfect but until someone out-does it, I can't leave a negative review
your character walks a bit too slow, but other than that total blast, play bowling, or a game that is a copy paste of goldeneye with friends, and just hang out at the arcade! how fun
Just asked for a refund, would be ok if it is free, but there are too many quirks and workarounds you have to do to even make it playable, not acceptable for a product that you pay for.
On quest 3, controller is not recoginze, you have some weird HTC vive controller que weirder control scheme.
When trying to play the games, connected xbox controller does nothing, trying to configure controller does nothing, literal nothing I click on the button mapping to change > awaits input > I press the desired button on the controller > nothing changes and the awaiting input dissapears.
Sad that it was abandoned by the developer, would have been something nice with some more effort. But still charging money for this seems like a rip off.
Takes a LOT of figuring out but it's pretty good. Fix the nightly MAME core's screen rotation, and also a Candy Cab type would rule.
