2», Fallout, Dragon Age, Prince of Persia).

The only good thing about this instalment is that the artwork is still good. Not at the same level as the two previous ones, but still good.
The puzzles and story has so many illogical turns and the only satisfying character plot was the lady in the subway.
The navigation in this game is so horrible I felt I had to comment on this and the only reason I bothered writing my first three reviews on Steam. Additionally there is only an autosave feature, which means when you decide to end the game for the day you'll end up for the most part playing a previous cut scene (not too bad if you've put the game on hold for a week or three) and you find yourself having to redo some of the things from your previous session.
Worst game I've completed and I will not be playing as Oscar since I do not feel like paying for (or even playing) the DLC.
This game came out 13 years after Syberia II, and honestly, if I had to wait that long and Syberia 3 was the result, I'd be kind of pissed off about it. TL;DR: Only pick this up if you REALLY want to go through all of the Syberia games. Otherwise, give it a skip. The World Before is a much better title.
First off, this is one of the worst controlling games I've ever played, and for a point & click game, that is damning. When you move with the WASD keys, the direction you move is based on where the camera is when you're in an area. When moving to a new area, the camera will often change perspective, and the game doesn't account for you holding down the movement key, so you'll be holding W to walk up into a new area, only for the perspective to shift to directly in front of Kate, causing her to walk right back into the area you just came from.
I didn't really have this problem when moving with a controller, but using a controller comes with its own problems. There are some puzzles in this game that require you to examine something closely, and when using a controller, the camera zips around so erratically that it's borderline impossible to focus on smaller details that you need to examine to progress. I ended up using a controller to move Kate around, and my mouse and keyboard to use and examine items, and no, you cannot adjust look sensitivity. Both controlling methods suck for different reasons, and I shouldn't have to use a hodgepodge of both just to get by.
This game is far from a looker, too. The color scheme is very drab, full of grays and browns throughout most of the experience. Sure, the original games from the early 2000s looked like that, but in 2017 with the game trying to be a much bigger and grander experience, it makes everything feel so dull and lifeless. Not to mention every character in this game looks so ugly. Kate looks fine, since she was made to resemble how she looked in the first two games, but the other characters are stylized in a way that's really off-putting. It sort of makes it feel like Kate's in the wrong game.
The voice acting is generally quite bad across the board. Sharon Mann returns in the English dub, sounding just like she did in the first two games. Unfortunately, this means she has the same stilted line delivery, the same awkward pauses, and the same weird inflections. Mann returned again in Syberia: The World Before, and she delivers a much better performance in that game, leading me to believe this game suffered from poor voice direction. The other voice actors don't do much better. Many of them have voices that don't at all match the characters they're voicing (there's one character whose dialogue implies he's supposed to have a German accent, but the voice actor doesn't even try to do one), and the delivery of many lines is often quite flat. There's a moment where a character from the first two games asks Kate, "don't you recognize my voice," and that really doesn't work when the actor playing that character has been recast. Mike Pollock probably gives the best performances in this game, but none of them are worth writing home about. The lip syncing is clearly not for English, so the character's dialogue does not match their lip movements at all in this version of the game, and there is no way to change languages in the settings.
And finally, there's the story. Without diving too much into spoilers, the story isn't very good. While the first two games had Kate going on this journey clearly motivated by her own innate curiosity, and a desire to help someone accomplish their dream, this game has it feel like Kate is being dragged into the story and is just kind of rolling with it. None of the characters really stand out, one of the returning characters being in this game creates a minor plot hole based on how the second game ended. There are new creatures introduced in this game that, ironically, sort of make the world feel less special. And then, there's the ending. Again, I won't give spoilers, but the ending is abrupt and unsatisfying, basically scrapping everything that happened to lay the groundwork for The World Before, and it leaves you wondering what the point of the game even was. It did lead to The World Before, which is my personal favorite game in this series, but it shouldn't come at the expense of making the entire game that came before borderline pointless.
Oh, and the story DLC sucks too. It's way too short, and doesn't add anything substantial to the main game's story.
Overall, Syberia 3 controls poorly, looks bad, sounds bad, and has a story that was definitely not worth a 13 year wait. Personally, I'd skip over Syberia 3, read a cliffnotes version of the plot, and go from II to The World Before. It's a much better game artistically and narratively, and it'll be a much better use of your time.
Amazing!
no
It was a somewhat shitty game 8 years ago, it still is a product on the shittier end of the scale. Facts:
- Story's nice, if you have the patience to finish it.
- The feel of controls are very much not of this planet.
- Mouse cursor disappearing bug persists 8 years after release. This is a potentially game-breaking bug, since at some point you'll need to move the cursor very quickly to complete the puzzle. If you can't see the cursor, you'll have to practice to become a very quick blind person to continue the game. It is borderline intolerable. It is almost a crime to ask players to put up with this kind of bug. Oh the French.
- No escaping cutscenes and dialogs. Really?
- English voice acting AI-ish, even 8 years later.
- Bad controls for keyboard and mouse, again.
Recommended if you want to know more about misKatwalk's journey, even through great pains;
NOT recommended if you are a newcomer. Play Syberia 1&2 first before making a decision. PS. a great deal of effort transitioning from 1&2 to 3.
I really enjoy the story of the series, but compared to previous games, this one has some drawbacks. You can't skip dialogues or cutscenes, and at times, the cursor disappears, or the interaction icons fail to appear in certain scenes. These issues made the gameplay feel slow. However, I still give it 4/5 stars for its storyline, graphics, and puzzles.
Still has the cursor disappearing issue players experienced all the way back in 2017 and which was posted to Steam for company review back then. There voice acting also goes back and forth between human and computerized voices. This game is buggy and far weaker overall than the previous two. While I've heard the fourth game got better, I'm not going to pay to play it.
This game desperately needs a remaster. It would be great to see a remaster for the 1 and 2 parts, too.
I can recommend it only because it still Syberia, but the plot is not great, too many grotesque characters. Also I recommend consulting with an expert familiar with Russian culture and language. The controls are clunky, many bugs, performance issues.
i started this game with high hopes; the first two were well done, the graphics were better, and it had autosave! However, with the new controls, interface, and gameplay in general it no longer feels like a Syberia game. It is dialogue heavy with few puzzles (at least for the first 2 hours), and has a very different feel to the storyline. The setup was there for future reveals, but I was so off-put by the dizzying cinematic camera and awkward interaction controls that I'm just shelving this game for now. Truly disappointing, as it has such potential.
Absolutely loved playing the game
Good story-telling and puzzles were quite intriguing.
Kate walker sure gives vibes of Lara croft it was actually fun knowing the characters especially Oscar silly and funny.
Although controls and camera angle were janky at some points. Maybe playing it with controller will solve most of the issues.
Overall, The game was 8.5/10 well at least to me.
Epic third part. Downside is the inability to save the progress by hand, it's autosave in this game. Also the conversations with the characters cannot be interrupted.
everything is amazing
I didn't love the bugs and constant lagging, but I am an OG fan of the Syberia Series and been here from the start, so it's impossible not to recommend Syberia 3. Good storyline and I liked the downloadable content, it added to the game.
I liked the whole game. Some of the areas are difficult. But overall a very nice game./
The story is okayish, but oh my god, the controls, the voice acting and the animations are so bad, that it's just not fun all around. Ended up using a guide, because the controls were so bad, that trying out things was just a waste of time. Wanted just to be done with it.
Aside from the fact that the main character is named Kate Walker there is not so much connection to the first two games, so feel free to skip this one.
The controls are frustrating. Lots of NPCs that don't matter getting in your way preventing you from walking places. A lot of unimportant chatting with NPCs as well as unskippable dialogue/cut scenes. Also it just doesn't recognize inputs sometimes. It's pretty terrible. However, it was tolerable when able to progress the story.
I was actually enjoying the puzzle aspect of this game but have now encountered a game breaking bug and cannot progress past the initial Yukol village. It simply will not let me give an item to the vendor. It's pretty frustrating given how good the first two were.
Nice and relaxing 3.
The game controls are intolerable. A total piece of crap. Don't waste your money and time on this game or any other by this company. Who would release something like this and take your hard earned money for it. A totally dishonest company.
Worst control system I've ever seen in the games
Dizzying camera movements. Horrible controls. Borderline unplayable on PC. Quests became minigames. Player gets stuck everywhere, cannot pathfind. Do not recomend strongly. Don't spoil the good memories.
A nice continuation of Kate Walker's adventure.
I'd give this a positive over a mixed review. Sure it's 2025 now so it's an old game, but the controls weren't too clunky.
Negs: Auto-save features are a curse to the modern gamer. Too long between saves.
The conversations were a bit tedious at times. Do we click on the convo twice? three times?
And as you'll see, one puzzle have driven a lot of people crazy.
Still...worth playing if you like the story so far.
Point négatif, la jouabilité qui parfois peut être pénible, mais l'histoire, la musique, les décors !!! Juste énorme ! Je dis un OUI !!!
Yes, but no. For fans only. The gameplay is bad.
controls sucks even in PC, nice story.
I've always enjoyed the imaginative and fantastical worlds of Benoît Sokal, and Syberia 3 was no exception. Although the game has received mixed reviews, I believe it deserves more appreciation despite being a weaker and less polished game than the other three installments.
Pros:
- Lore-rich setting: The game retains Benoît Sokal's magical world-building touch, which I have always loved.
- Attention to detail: The environments are filled with small details that make the world feel truly lived in.
- Story: While some have criticized the story, I disagree. The antagonists may be less fleshed out than expected, but their actions and decisions, including minimal violence, are understandable given the more subtle in-game lore.
- Music: Inon Zur did another amazing musical job.
- Artwork: Beautiful with attention to detail, and authentic to the franchise.
Cons:
- English dialogue: The English dialogue isn't particularly good. However, this didn't affect me since I am bilingual and played the game in French, the original language. The lipsyncing only works for french.
- Controls: The controls are somewhat clunky but not as bad as some reviews suggest. They have improved significantly since the initial launch.
Overall, for a continuation of a franchise that was paused for over a decade, Syberia 3 went remarkably well, especially considering the transition from the original point-and-click style to 3D graphics and controls. I strongly recommend that any fan of Benoît Sokal's imaginative worlds give this game a chance. I personally rate this game 7/10.
DLC Review: The DLC is quite enjoyable and adds some extra character building. However, it feels short and cutscene-heavy, almost like a deleted scene. I suggest getting it on a big discount. DLC 6/10.
Superb!
This game is a technical disaster and controls horribly. It clearly was not made with PC in mind. Since it was in development hell for quite some time it looks and plays like a game from 2013 although it was released in 2017. On an RTX 4090, this does not run in 4k 240 FPS even though it looks poor also for 2017. Only play this if you are a fan of the first two Syberia games and want to experience all the games yourself. It seems the successor was at least better.
Unfortunately, the distinct art direction from the first two games is missing and so is its charm, especially considering its mediocre story and contrived antagonists. Puzzles are almost completely absent save for pick up item A and bring to place B. Its biggest sin, however, are the camera perspectives. These are not fixed unlike in the first game and regrettably this makes orientation harder than it should be.
sure wish the controls weren't like #that
It's good, but the story seems off compared to 1 and 2. The script obviously wasn't written in English, so the translation wasn't very good sometimes. Also there are inconsistencies with how the adversaries are scripted vs the personality they're supposed to convey. The "ruthless" Colonel and his band of thugs could easily handle Youkols and Kate Walker with their weapons, but they don't. It's like the story came out of an early 20th-century 7 year old boy's brain. Maybe that's by design? I don't know.
[H3]Worse than the first two parts. Lots of bugs, terrible controls.
Pros: I enjoyed the storyline. The puzzles were quite easy to figure out and complete. I like the Syberia games. I could finish the game, even with the controls not perfect. Good graphics.
Cons: The controls was quite difficult in the beginning, but got better when you figure out how to work around it. Sometimes the views moved so much it made me feel disorientated. The voices were sometimes not inline with the mouths moving.
I would give this about a 6 for my experience.
Still need to play Automaton with a plan. Cant wait to play nr 4.
I really tried to like this game, but it just felt boring and lifeless to the point I had to give up. Shame, since I quite liked parts 1 and 2
The name is not the game
Syberia 3 was supposed to be a sequel to the first two parts of a mysterious saga. It is nothing of the sort, let me assure you. Enough negative reviews have made it abundantly clear already, going into the atrocious details of horrible UI, lack of mystery, hand-holding, itty-bitty picky pseudo puzzles, non-skipable dialogues, so I won't go into that but just mention it here for the sake of... i dunno, for the sake of it. The actual puzzle is how to enter and/or exit areas and rooms, use items etc. without hair pulling, screaming, ceaseless eye-shutting and hopeless sighing. Putting up with all that just to enjoy a good story, is it worth it, really!? Yes, Kate Walker learned to walk faster than in Syberia 1&2 so that's an improvement, I guess.
I got this in a bundle, otherwise I'd have requested a refund.

!! What are you doing ??
This is one of several games released in the late 2010s that have nothing to do with what gamers long for. Instead, their development and release seems to be rooted in an attempt to profit from an already established title, yes, that too. But here I am talking about something quite different. The games I am talking about are meant to raise awareness for global warming, new woke policies, and moraline-soaked attitudes. Within the first three hours, I was confronted with overt racism, lockdown protcols, brainwashing methods, passport issues, and the players are held to adhere to these 'standards', 'procedures', 'rules and regulations' in order to progress. Bureaucratic issues are criticized while at the same time, the player is primed to obey because whether or not you like it, the story needs you to do certain things which IRL would be outrageous enough to rebel against them. The games I am referring to are superficially shiny just as they are clunky, laggy, buggy, broken, unstable. In this respect, I am reminded of Tell Me Why and LiS: True Colors which do not resonate with me for similar reasons. Syberia 3 was released in 2017. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

One more thing. I wonder: The texts of readable items I come across in this game are written in Russian. Is it intentional to exclude players who don't speak Russian from understanding these pieces of information? I tried to change it in option but could not find anything that would render them English. I don't know of any other game that does something like that...
I love Syberia!
I played knowing from the other reviews that the controls would be clonky, and they are! But I really enjoyed the story-line :) I used an achievement guide to get the more obscure achievements (didn't fancy a second walkthrough!)
Syberia 3 tries too hard to be a worthy new chapter in Kate Walker’s series, but it’s frustrating and disappointingly flawed. It is a shameful ending to a beloved series.
The game is very beautiful and interesting, I personally loved it. The bad reviews are unbelievable for a real Syberia lover. I found the story very original and well crafted. The only problem was of course the bugs and problems, that kept occurring during the whole game. I can't believe this hasn't been fixed as it was a real hassle. Yet, I'm very happy I got to play the game and didn't listen to the bad reviews as I really liked it. I'm now ready for what is said to be a masterpiece : the 4th one. Oh, and yes, the French voiceovers were appalling, such a shame (despite Kate/Françoise Cadol of course). As a professional VO myself, I can't understand this choice.
What a downfall in this chapter! They just went for money after watching the great success of Syberia I & II! "It'd be so fun fooling the fans with high quality graphics and extended stories" NO! This game was supposed to finish in Syberia II, It'd be absolutely masterpiece. This is why I hate those developers who ruins the games with updates! This game has:
- Wrong subtitles
- Insane amount of bugs
- Worst ending (which doesnt make any fking sense!)
The bindings and 3d view is so annoying! They didn't even display the binding for once! In some dialogue option, there was a bug which didnt show all the dialogue option (1,3) but wheres 2 hello?
I am so disappointed cause this is one of my most fv game, nonetheless the puzzle was so good, loved every puzzle. And I was crying after seeing Oscar and playing as Oscar! The best part was when they were holding each other, absolutely beautiful.
This game is diabolically. I bought all three and the first two are good but this one is terrible. Clunky, slow, NO DIALOG SKIP!!! Come on devs! I paid full price for the 1st 2 and had no complaints but got S3 cheap so I'm not asking for a refund but I would do if I'd paid a bit more for it.
I have all of the older ones and Loved them so much but this one does not play well at all. I spend most of my time completely frustrated
As much as I love the series, in the third and final chapter of this saga, the developers tried to reinvent the game by using Unity 3d engine. And it was the worst decision.
Throughout the game often my cursor dissappears. Gone. So I need to button bach my keyboard, or go back and click around the screen, before I can go back. Walking, running in different directions is a nightmare. Stairs.. I hate stairs now.
The storyline is not bad, but Im seriously thinking about abandoning the game and just watch the walkthrough on YouTube and see how other people suffer and skip the bad parts.
I'm glad that they went back to normal point and click in the new game so I might try that. But this is simply unplayable and not takes away all the fun of the story.
Controls are bad, buggy and i also there is too much political narratives in this game. Syberia 1 and 2 were way better than this.
Only auto save
No way to go to dialoug or cutscenes faster or skip
The gameplay is cumbersome
The camera angles are strange and disorientating
I managed half an hour before deciding that I its nor worth it just to have a complete story
Had to stop playing. The game became more like a tedious job than fun. The gui is gooey, literally. Camera angles and motion are bad. Graphics: seen better in 2005. Annoying, sometimes cringe storyline. Some puzzles illogical, some just right down stupid.
