Devil May Cry 4 immerses gamers in a gothic supernatural world, where a new protagonist clashes with a familiar hero. As the new leading man, Nero, players will unleash incredible attacks and non-stop combos using a unique new gameplay mechanic, his powerful "Devil Bringer" arm.
On the coast of a distant land lies the castle town of Fortuna. It is here that the group known as the Order of the Sword practices a mysterious religion. They revere the demon warrior Sparda, who as their god fought to protect humans, and are committed to the extermination of all demons. Nero, a young knight from the Order, is tasked with finding Dante, the mysterious assassin who murdered the head of the Order of the Sword. At the same time, more demons begin to appear throughout the city. Nero will soon come to discover the motives behind Dante's appearance and the truth behind the intentions of the Order of the Sword.

I do not currently recommend this game for anyone right now. It is fun game but as of late the game crashes on launch. I wish Capcom would look into this.
Gameplay of DMC4 is phenomenal, Character mechanics all feel very unique and fun on all 5 of them. Only issue i have is repetitiveness of levels and lack of inspiration when it comes to enemy/boss designs but that won't really bother you unless you're going for the 100% achievement completion like me. overall i'd highly recommend it to any DMC enjoyer.

jogo todo bugado
The voices in this game is kinda hard to hear unless you max your volumes or wear headphones. Still recommend it if it's not gonna be a problem for anyone wants this game, but if it is then get the console version of dmc4 since it doesn't have that problem.
Devil May Cry 4—what can I say? It’s a fun game and took a fresh approach with Nero’s unique mechanics, but it faced issues due to corporate interference, from what I’ve gathered. The team was constrained by time and other factors, leading to nearly half the game’s content being cut or left unfinished. As a result, the second half ended up reusing the levels in reverse with some minor additions. It had the potential to be incredible, though it still turned out decent. The main problem is that while the combat system is solid, the enemies and level design primarily cater to Nero, leaving the game feeling less complete than DMC 3 and DMC 5.
Fix the game so I can play it on modern hardware. This can't be that hard to fix Capcom come on.
Ratings: 8 out of 10

the first half of the game which features Nero which has nice level designs and puzzle while the second half felt repetitive, unfinished and a bit unbalanced combined with how hawt dante is in the cutscenes . Even from the story itself, there is a lot of potential to dive deep into on some plot points. And at least the characters are well developed, i guess lol
TL:DR - DMC4 Dante? Would.
i cant play through the game, because in certain black loading screens or cutscenes the game will crash, and will show an error with "memory overrun." looking it up it seems many people have had this issue occur on a lot of different loading scenes. there seems to be no consistent fix. if you get this game pray that your machine can run this sh1t a$$ ps3 port smoothly.
Unfinished piece of ass, dmc1 was more fun than this shit.
Well, I DID love this game when it worked. CAPCOM - fix this, purdy please. Game crashes on start up even after running compatibility mode, turning off overlays in steam, changing hex code, and installing older directx runtimes - still doesn't work. Game loads a black screen then immediately crashes. I smell a refund if there isn't a patch in a year's time to fix this.
But when it works, it's a lot of fun. Just wish it worked like when I first bought it lol.
DMC 4 is an almost perfect continuation from the series after 3. Basically every one of the 5 characters feel unique, with each of them having their own 'gimmick' that keeps the gameplay interesting for repeat playthroughs with the other characters. Nero's ACT mechanic and arm moves, Dante's style switching, Vergil's motivation, Lady's gun-play and Trish dual-welding are all very cool mechanics that differentiate the characters other than "well this one has a different sword". The level design is usually well though-out, the soundtrack is fire (like all of the dmc games) and the story is one of the better stories (beat out by three and five), in my opinion. The only real complaints is that, although I praised the character's different mechanics they can feel a tad one-note at times, ESPECIALLY Lady and Trish, unfortunately, but this may be me just being bad at video games idk. The other complaint is the lack of Dante cutscenes, but the good ones REALLY deliver, continuing the series' goofball nature. 8-9/10
tl;dr: good game that is a worthy continuation of the DMC series.
...............................IAM THe sTrOm thaTS..........APPROChinG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . BTW LOVE THIS GAME SHOULD TRY WHEN ON SALE ....... ILOVE ALL THE CHARACTERS AND GAMEPLAY SHOULD RY IF YOU LOVE GAMES LIKE GOW OR DS .......:)
My first DMC adventure was the DMC: Devil May Cry reboot. I liked the gameplay, style, combinations and story. That's why I delved into this world and discovered DMC4.
I've been living in this world for a while now and I'm shocked that I didn't know this title before. When I first played DMC4 I understood where all the hate for the reboot came from.
DMC4 is an amazing game in terms of cinematography, story, characters, difficulty of modes and the game itself, not to mention earning achievements.
I agree that DMC is one of those games that are demanding, time-consuming and mentally exhausting. However, mastering this game, its mechanics and specifics gives a huge satisfaction, and using different skills and combinations makes you want to improve yourself even more.
I recommend DMC to everyone, and especially to those who like challenges and a good sword fight.
Any price is worth it to play this title.

Devil May Cry 4 is, honestly, a good old game. The storyline is simple, featuring the introduction of a new character, Nero, on a very simple mission (as many male protagonists of that era were) to rescue his girlfriend from villains while discovering more about his demonic abilities and enigmatic background. Don't compare it with those modern games. This old turtle may be old and simple, but it’s still enjoyable and provides plenty of fun.
Devil May Cry 4 is the game that changed the dmc series, the game overall has annoying enemies and they feel like they were made for nero only since they are balanced around him, dante feels so randomly included here but overall dmc4 is the game that many people enjoy and started with. The special edition offers 3 playable characters, some costumes for the characters and a new gamemode called Legendary dark knight mode which is a bit annoying but overall the difficulty is super fun, dmd feels a lot easier compared to the previous ones excluding dmc2 and the new hell and hell mode is alright, vergil is super fun to play as and they really improved him since dmc3, lady is straight up a broken character during story mode, trish is a good character, she feels like a dmc1 dante and nero the new character is a fun character to play as since the game revolves around him and his devil bringer.
it is a good game would recommend :] perfect like cell.
It has really good combat but this port seems to have some serious jank. It crashed a couple of times, my inputs aren't always recieved, dantes part of the campaign is weak
Devil May Cry 4 is a good game.
This PC port of DMC4SE from Capcom is unoptimized, unstable, buggy and just all around annoying.
Stay away from Capcom PC ports.
Capcom is it that difficult to update the fucking controls
far from perfect but still a must play especially with how fun devil bringer is I was a happy camper while playing
After playing the other 3 before this, the camera controls are way better and I loved the fighting.
Best gameplay in the series bogged down by a lackluster story and mission design. 8/10
puzzles are so trash but the gameplay is so good
Today we ask the age old question:
What is the devil bringing?
An extremely flawed game
First things first, it's guarantee to crash whenever anything pop-up like an overlay and there's no auto save.
Honestly the only thing good about this game is the combat but only for Nero and it is heavily aerial focused. It's the only game in the series that I cannot bother to 100% (yes that mean I even did DMC2) minus the remake. It's not a bad game, the game is fun up to a point, how far that point is depends on your tolerances to these problems:
- Unfinished campaign. There are 20 missions and 13 of them are for Nero, Dante only get 7 and his missions are just Nero missions but reverse, meaning you have to fight the same bosses 2-3 times. There are sections in some missions where you have to push some gyros or play a dice game and they're just TERRIBLE when you play through the game more than once which is the intended way to play this genre.
- DMC4 continue the tradition of having garbage enemy designs but this time it's even worse. Instead of getting to play and experiment with combos, you'll have to focus on the quickest, safest way to dispatch everything. It feels like Pokémon, where you’re constantly just saying “X is weak to Y, so use that.” Over and over (I wanted to rant about how terrible each enemy is but that would just make this longer and there's no lacking of videos about how bad DMC4 enemy designs are).
Not only that, if you don't use the "correct" attacks you'll do almost no damage or unable to hit the enemies. Further more the enemies are designed for Nero and his Blue Rose Charge Shot 3 + Buster Arm, the game is fine when you play as Nero but once you changed to any other characters you'll start to see the flaws in the designs. Charge Shot 3 is powerful, it does a lot of damage, ignore shield & armor and is the main tool for Nero to stagger most bosses. Buster Arm is like heat action in Yakuza games, really satisfying to use especially on bosses, all enemies can be grabbed while they're in juggle stage, most bosses has an attack that can be parried by using Buster and then execute a brutal counter, it can also snatch enemies from afar or bring Nero closer to big enemies. That's all very well but other characters don't have Blue Rose's CS3 and Buster.
Dante has to compensate this by having a wide variety of moves and abuse Distortion glitch for any real damage, meaning Dante has to use a specific attack on a specific enemy to be able to damage them instead of just Charge Shot + Buster, not only that but they nerfed the hell out of Dante's styles and damage, unnecessary complicated, Gilgamesh is just discounted Beowulf with only one strong attack that is also a glitch, Lucifer is not a real weapon since most of its moves don't do any damage up front or staggers, more like a trap you set up for some extra damage and only useful to kill one specific enemy. This is the least fun version of Dante beside DMC2, even the remake is better than this.
Vergil is a powerhouse, almost the same as DMC5 Vergil just lacking some attacks but even he isn't immune to the terrible enemy designs. Blistering Swords and Just Judgement Cut are the only way to deal reliable range damage but they're not as strong as Charge Shot so he has harder time to deal with certain enemies.
Lady is the only character that has a stronger version of Charge Shot but her playstyle is depend entirely on range attacks making her gameplay really boring even though she's even stronger than Nero.
Trish is like Dante with Devil Sword Sparda + Beowulf with lightning but instead of having to switch weapons, she just has cool combos that use both with great crowd control and high stagger. The problem is her damage is even lower than Dante for no reasons, Pandora's Revenge is the only attack that can deal some real damage and it consumes 3 DT bar, Round Trip is great but spamming the same move over and over is just boring, she is just not good on anything higher than SOS.
[*]Boss fight are mostly alright. Credo is the coolest fight in the game and you only get to fight him once. Sanctus is a garbage boss, all 3 fights are garbage, the first and third fight are basically the same, literally only one attack can be consider effective at breaking his shield and knocking him down, second fight is just a gimmick fight. Nero vs Dante isn't a fun fight, he's an input reading scumbag unlike Dante vs Vergil in DMC3, there's no back and forth, he will counter anything you try to do, the most effective way to fight him is to just blue rose spam and then snatch + buster. Bael & Dagon like to run like a b!tch just before you're able to stagger it.
This game almost made me skip the HD Collection because I thought I didn't vibe with the mission design of combat + puzzle + platforming, turned out this game campaign and mission designs are just fkng ass. DMC5 was my first DMC and I didn't like Nero gameplay much compare to Vergil & Dante, he felt too simple but after playing all 5 games I actually kinda like Nero now, he's like a slightly upgraded version of DMC1 Dante in a way, Buster counters on bosses are really cool although the combat rely too much on Charge Shot 3 + Buster in DMC4, Showdown feels useless unlike in DMC5.
Truth be told, it would have been nice if capcom actually had the time and money to give us the unique bosses Dante was supposed to have, but I think the special edition with playable Virgil, lady, and Trish is a nice silver lining. This game is awesome and a worthy edition to the DMC series. It’s the first DMC game I played, and is probably the most accessible title after DMC 5
Pretty damn fun until you play as Dante through recycled levels.
But they aren't that bad and Dante is still entertaining.
Just beat the game and play bloody palace.
Campaign gets a 7.1235243654/10
Mechanics gets like a 9.213854823/10
I can't fault this game, but I didn't enjoy playing through it for some reason. Maybe levels are ass. I love bloody palace and gameplay. Revving is my favorite mechanic in these games. But still, story mode sucks ass.
My ranking after playing all 5 DMC games:
1. DMC 5
2. DMC 1
3. DMC 3
4 DMC 4
...
what the fuck happened?
...
????.DMC2
so, i know the game is kinda old, so the "static camera" and the graphics are of that old days and isnt a "problem". But theres a really big problem with this game, and are the bosses and the place, the game repeat almost every boss and place. You know those game quest where you have to "go there and then come back" and that is it, the whole game is like that. The only good part about this game is you can play with the femela characters, play as lady was really funny and i enjoy it a lot. I would like to recommend this game, but... i cant.
Flawed, but has the fun core ideas of the DMC franchise. Nero is a blast to play, moreso than Dante in this game.
Game keeps shutting down when I try and play it, waste of my money all this time btw.
Game's great but the lock-on and camera handling in this game are utter garbage also most enemies are more designed to be fought as Nero, as Dante you'll struggle and his system is suddenly complex to get used to and requires you to p ut twice or thrice as many hours if you aiming to perform well and get S on missions. PC Controls are terrible but thats expected of a port so recommended to own a controller in case you change your mind. All that and game's still enjoyable just very frustrating
not the best dmc but it can stand on it's own two feet, story and music is good, gameplay is pretty good too, this is the only game where u can play as lady and trish so that's something. Dante dresses like a gay cowboy, so there's something. Vergil is there, kinda. good 8.5/10 game. (nah cuz whatwas the art direction in this game Dante looks so big and stuff idk how to explain it)
I CANT FUCKING PLAY THE GAME, IT ALWAYS EXITS WHEN I PLAY AS VERGIL, SOMEONE FUCKING HELP ME
Performed an SSS combo on my brother
He's now sleeping peacefully on the floor
actually really cool other than navigating the backtracks
also i don't like how there are 2 currencies and one purchase increases the price of everything that sucks
but still this game is amazing
Amazing game, but chapter 19 is so fking bad
This prime Dante cool af can't say same shit bout 5th game, This is the BEST DANTE where he's actin between being serious and being badass at the same time. Bossfights could be better but cutscenes are just something incredible i'll give it an S rank, There's a lot of backtracking, which is a little annoying and boss fights didn't changed at all. But overall the game is great. Just buy it for Dante if you love Dante because Dante is Dante and Dante always cool. Vergil cool too buy it if you love Vergil or Dante or Vergil or Dante or Nero Dante whatever
1. Game doesn't open, looks for a fix
2. Issue affecting everyone playing on a specific windows 10 version or above, you have to download a hex editor and edit the game's exe to run the game
3. Hex editor doesn't work, look up possible reasons why
4. You have to download an older version of the game's exe with steam's console, replace the up to date one and edit the old one with the hex editor
5. Game gets stuck in 1080p, cant switch to 1440p ingame
6. Find out you have to use different hex values for 1440p
7. Game doesn't open again after using the new hex values
8. Tries again with 1080p hex values, game opens to the menu but crashes when starting a new game
You need a computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, cyber security and astrophysics degree to even open the game. Just play something else
it's all fun and games until you realize the real boss battle is trying to look cooler than dante
This is the best DMC game by far. The graphics, playable characters, game feel and ui is much better than the others, only rivaled by DMC 3. I know this opinion is one that a heretic would have, but I had so much fun playing this compared to the rest of the series.
game is not even starting crashing at the time of start not even booting the game. I started game through exe the small black process window appeared and boom game crashed...
If you buy this product, there is a good chance it will just not work. A known issues for years that capcom won't fix apparently. Won't launch in full screen. Crashes when you try to open the settings. Editing the config file did nothing to help me. So yeah buy this if you want to troubleshoot for a few hours before playing it.
Good game but doing 100% is grindfully painful.
i was really excited when i bought the game, but then i loaded it up and started a story it kept saying an error, and always crashes whenever i open the settings, i also tried some people suggestion to fix this issue but all of them didn't work, please fix the game.
good old fashioned hack and slash devil may cry, but with more weapons
Game lets you be on the menu and then when you go to hit play.. it just crashes everytime. People say you have to edit the .exe coding through it's hex codes and that is not something to be forced on for those who can't do so. Until this game launches a proper update.. I'm not keeping this
this game would be a 10/10 if it wouldnt crash randomly and lag a fuck ton
