i don't like it, puzzle is quite ok. Story just meh. Jumping is tedious. Only final boss fight is a little bit fun. 4/10
You need more than half a brain to solve the puzzles + be great at doing certain jumps. Also that last key in the pyramid... T_T
I rather turn on (yeah, I know how that sounds) the sun and freaking ray sunbeam the sheep out everything. If there is no world, there is no more of anything. That means I both win and lose.
the keyboard controls seem somewhat weird or bugged, and after nearly ten minutes of rather unimaginative jump and run and none of the humour the concept promised, i got bored and uninstalled it. might have missed out on the good bits, if there are any (the god powers might make the game worthwhile, i only saw the rainmaking)...
I enjoyed the game a lot! Nice story, fun riddles and puzzles, cool music. I missed a few gems and might go back to pick them up later.
There's not many games like this. This one took me about 7 hours on my lazy day but there's something special about it. 5/5, fun little game :)
Really a good game beyond my expectation.
Good graphic, UX design, even have voice cast..
It is an action puzzle game but indeed action part is trivial.
You can only jump, can't attack, dash, and so on.
But it is fine enough, and the puzzle part is real fun and creative.
Also there are lots check point let this game easy to enjoy.
In a nutshell, recommend.
the sun dial puzzle is beyond difficult on controller - after millions of attempts i had to give up.
the graphics and the game play really pretty and unique but the controls are a bit of a let down.
It was fun in spite of the clunky controls. I was just guessing how to solve some puzzles and eventually got them right. I didn't really enjoy that part of the game. It still has a lot of fun aspects and it looks good. Get it on sale definitely. I found it to be pretty fun. The last boss was very difficult but I think mostly because of the controls. I finally beat him, so if I can do it, anyone can.
Poor puzzles with little explanation of what is expected. Controls which are buggy. Good for a quick thrill nothing more. Needs more polishing before it was released.
Aout 3 hours to complete a "full" playthrough, but double or triple that to get the last two achievements (finish the game in 1h30 and finish the game dying less than 10 times). I liked this game a lot, but the gameplay is frustrating. Jump height isn't consistent, it felt to me, and I dropped many times from ledges I should, in my mind, have been able to hold onto. Some puzzles are particularly hard to do, you need to have the elements just right or you'll have to start (but at least there is a handy "reset puzzle" button). I encountered a few bugs (most notably gears in the plant puzzle that wouldn't turn (I exited to the main menu and loaded the save again, and it worked that time).
So this game is fun and frustrating at the same time. Be warned.
Excellent puzzle platform game. Highly recommend this one. Awesome graphics, nice puzzles. Playing this one with my son. Great fun.
Wasn’t so bad at the start, but got pretty annoying towards the end. Art style was okay and the sound was decent; narrator did a good job. I found the controls overall to be pretty crummy. I guess this is a case of a mobile port’s touch controls not faring as well on PC.
The stupid Stonehenge/sun dial puzzle towards the end of the game broke me - spent way too much time trying to figure it out, to no avail. I even watched the one Youtube video that showed somebody successfully solving it; still made no sense to me. Gave it one last try and finally said f@ck it, I’ve wasted enough time on this BS.
Thankfully, I got this for dirt cheap. Just wish I hadn’t spent my precious time on it. Even for a dollar or less I wouldn’t recommend this. 🙄👎
Good game ruined by bad controls and a floaty character.
Nice game in which you can spend hours of playing without noticing how much time has passed.
(Well, this is just my opininion, since i often find myself lost in games like this very easyli.)
Sometimes it's hard to solve the puzzle to continue, but that makes it more fascinating.

TLDR: Gimmicky platformer. Platforms become twitch and timed physics based annoyances at some point.
Decent thematically. Simple mobile graphics but has basic options, detects Xbox360 pad fairly well.
While I like the slow and predictably cumbersome movement animations and I thought the use of on screen text worked alright as a plot delivery mechanism, the game starts taking itself seriously fast. I am not sure if the puzzles were first designed for touch screen and you could more easily mess about with multiple abilities at once but its a bit much using the controller trying to eartquake a boulder in a position while managing water levels and moving clouds.
Game was very very good until last part. Stupid puzzles and movement based moments. Couldn't even finish it. You will spend more than 50% of your time on last part.
A nice and simple platform game for fans that want something fun and not very demanding.
You control a beggar that found a mask which transported him to another world where he have special powers.
When he wears the mask he gains powers like making it rain or tilting the earth. He uses those powers to solve puzzles, so he can move on to the next area of the game. The beggar also collects some purple crystals along his way which I don't know if they change anything at the ending apart from satisfying our thirst for collecting items. The puzzles are challenging but not very hard, apart from 1 or 2. There are a couple of enemies which you can either avoid or learn how to exterminate them.
I liked the mechanics with the mask and how you use the powers to solve the puzzles.
I liked the graphics and the music.
I also liked the fact that it's not a long game (you can finish it in under 1.5 hours).
I didn't like the gameplay as is it was a bit laggy.
I didn't like the vagueness of the story; "One day an old man finds a mask..."
If you find it on an offer go for it.
This game has a ton of beauty to it. The story is okay. The puzzles are easy.I believe that this game was an IOS port. That being said I found the found the platforming in the later part of the game to be way too penalizing for the keyboard/mouse. Jumping is always a problem and there is a lag at times. Very frustrating. I got the final part and said "that is enough". I read all the reviews statng how casual it is......they are obviously using a controller. If ou are like me and play games the old school way then I would say NO. Really too bad that it was sold as a casual game....and it just might be if played on a controller or in IOS format.
The Beggars Ride is a Casual Puzzle-Platforming game developed by Bad Seed. The game originally is a mobile game which has been ported onto Steam.
Pros:
- Good Artstyle with a nice colors and effects.
- Casual Puzzles which are easy to solve.
- Good game mechanics that are engaging and add a good touch like changing the weather or daytime.
- Great Narrative with a good message.
- Most of the Achievements are fairly easy.
- Nice soothing soundtrack that fits the game pretty well.
Cons:
- Sometimes the jump mechanics didn't work well in some platforming sections of the game.
[*]Puzzles are not that Mind Bending.
Conclusion:
Anyone looking for a casual puzzle platorming game, The Beggars Ride doesn't dissapoint and offers just the perfect experience the user is typically looking for.

+ Some nice puzzles (but never really a challenge)
+ A funny looking character!
- Bad controls. Not optimized as they should have been (and this take its toll on the game's enjoyability)
- Some puzzles are just absurd
- Lacking full controller support (seriously, this is a must for this genre)
Overall it's a fun and relaxing game.

The Beggar’s Ride is a casual puzzle platforming adventure with a well-told story. The game starts off fairly easy, and new mechanics are introduced as you discover mask abilities. You use this mask to enter God State to manipulate the area. By moving the earth, controlling the sun and moon, and making it rain, you solve puzzles to progress. I almost always enjoy puzzles in most games, so this game was no different.
There were a couple areas that I died repeatedly, so I did find that the platforming got a bit harder towards the end, but I admit that I am not the greatest at platformers to begin with. Fortunately, the game is very forgiving. All the crystals you earned before you died still remain collected, so you don’t have to find them again. Also, with a fair amount of checkpoints throughout the game, and infinite lives, the game is friendly to people looking for a more casual experience.
Pros:
- colourful, cute, and visually appealing animation style - everything looks great
- a nice mix of puzzles and platforming with good gameplay mechanics
- map showing all the checkpoints, and where you haven’t been to yet
- map also allows for teleportation to certain checkpoints that you've already activated
- awesome narrative - it was done extremely well, and it did an amazing job telling the story
- good story: it conveyed a strong, positive message that some people might have forgotten...
Cons:
- [*]puzzles were too easy throughout the game
Conclusion:
The Beggar’s Ride took me about 3-3.5 hours to complete. Normally, I don’t pay much attention to mobile games, so I had never heard of this game until its Steam release, but I am glad that the developers ported this over to PC. I enjoyed the game, and am completely satisfied with the purchase. If you're a fan of casual puzzle platformers with story, it’s a solid buy.

Minor spoilers in the review:
This game is about a beggar that finds a mask(s) that gives him godlike powers, sounds cheesy right? Well it isn't, it has a pretty intresting bigger backstory to it that I won't spoil.
The music is pretty great and provides a nice calm atmosphere to the game, while the gameplay itself is AWSD to move and a right click to jump kind of control.
The gameplay mostly involves solving puzzles that may sometimes be completely easy and sometimes might take a couple of tries, it may not be the easiest puzzle game but it kinda is easy. The graphics are cool and whenever you switch between your beggar self and god-like self the world around you changes in a cool way.
However, I don't know if it's just me but the manuvering in the game and going through levels to unlock different powers is kinda hard, like rn I'm kinda stuck cuz I don't know where to unlock my last power. The level manuvering is kinda messed up because you don't know if you're sometimes going ahead of where you should be or if you're on track. That's probably the only negative thing I've noticed...
I would recommend you get it but it's not rly a must-buy, it's still a pretty great game and I'd give it a 7/10.
If the game is on sale (like it is the time I'm writing the review) then it would be pretty great to grab it.
