Great game , map is big and beautiful

good trucking simulator, cutomization of rigs, finances, missions and storyline
This game has a huge background and its super fun to play with and it has an in-depth story line with different type and sizes of payloads and long journeys out all across the states. Absolutely beautiful game for its age.
the feel of driving around California is awesome but should be able to run properly on al current pc and laptops made within 2022-2023 cause its not a big game but it crashes randomly for no reason
Hard truck 3 / rig'n'roll is a respectable game with serious "game engine flaws", wich funny enough were in the previous itteration ( hardtruck 2 / king of the road )aswell , but could be fixed by editing some game engine stuff, however in this game its not so easily possible:
memory leak caused by game night/day cycle
memory leak caused by saving the game progress a.k.a save game.
memory leak caused by competitor/traffic ai trucks having broken/invalid upgrades crashing the game as per game logs.
also the game engine runs out of allocated ram? , probably because its a 32bit .exe , also the more you play the slower the game gets, usually within 3-4 ( ingame day/night cycles ) fps drops from ~120 to ~ 22-25...and CTD follows soon, regardless of any ingame setting/display resolution/whatever.
i know that it is 2023 but ive been playing sense it came but iv to say that its a great game i also think that it is the closest game to amarican truck simulator and 18 wheels of steel so ill give u a five star review
One of the worst games I have ever played.
The game crashes after about an hour of playing and although I personally like the game due to things like story, similarity to GTA and others, the fact that it crashes so often just outweighs the pros. Do not get.
i bought it last year i played it 10 years ago on a laptop and honestly its cheesy as fuck but the trucks are cool the customization was cool for its time and overall its alright its a nostalgia thing for me honestly
Don't listen to all the bad reviews this is a fantastic game, if you loved the 1970's trucking movies then it's like your in them. Love the cut scenes too. Don't come in comparing this to a simulator or Euro Truck as it's nothing like them and not a sim but arcade with a story mode. I have run this on my desktop and Omen gaming laptop with no issues and on max resolution. For me this is best played with the keyboard and even though you can map a wheel and gamepad it doesn't do the game justice. The best experience is with the keyboard. But once you give it a chance there is a great load of fun here and a load to do growing you business and upgrading. For the price it's a bargain. The graphics are great, yes sure there dated but I think it makes the game better with style and time it's kind of set in. So take the game for what it is and don't compare and you will have a great time. I was running at 2560 x 1440 with no issues other than 1 crash in 5 hours of gameplay. With all graphics settings on max on a Omen Laptop on Windows 11. Also run on Windows 10 on my desktop same settings with no issues. My Logitech G920 did work but combined pedals and ffb on 1. Xbox game pad tested and did work but needed like wheel remapping but the wheel and pad felt digital and and not as smooth as I'd like in my opinion. It would be nice to see a new version of this format as I think it's great and not as serious as other Truck games for the better if you are looking for something not so serious. Recommended. To add I do own ETS2 and ATS which are excellent simulators not arcade like this one.
pretty fun game, it was made 7 years before ATS so give it a break, and at least you you don't have to sink over $bucks in to get all the content lol
I used to dream about being a trucker. Both my grandpa and my father (may he rest in peace) used to truck. Obviously its too late for me to be a trucker BUT with this game I get to live my dream. I only have three downsides. Game freezes sometimes, some of the missions seem impossible to accomplish or seem to refuse to let you progress, and there arent enough REAL trucks. I would love to see Peterbilts, Kenworths and other real trucks added. Plus I wouldnt mind seeing an Expansion Pack download with movie themed trucks. Wouldnt it be cool to drive the Blue Mule from WHITE LINE FEVER? The Green Goblin from MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE? The old dirty Peterbilt from DUEL? Endless potential here.
The game had a story to it. It also had the most advanced UI when you are at an office. You can pretty much hire anyone (even people with colorful records).
What a joke to release this after fantastic previous trucking game of the very same developer. These trucks have no mass, speed up and brake almost like your Toyota Prius would. And what IS this shaky camera feature... just WHY?
Not even talking on the optimisation / performance side. 14-25 fps on high settings (not ultra maximum everything) in 1280x960 for a game from 2010 on quad-core 2013 cpu with a mid-tier 2016 videocard. What a bad joke!

Rig n' Roll is a Trucking game that is set in the United States. You Get to play through a story line as well. I highly recommend this game. I actually prefer it over Euro Truck Simulator 2, because it has mroe feutures. Its Damage is more in depth, and it also has visual damage. The AI traffic is also smart, however, the traffic acts poorly when a highway exit appears as they will come to a complete stop on the highway and wait to change lanes, and when the changes lanes, they can block up to 2 lanes because they are waiting for traffic to pass. But apart from that, the AI is pretty good, if you are on the oncomning lane, they will aviod you. There are also Police chases in this game, and the police are quite good at keeping up, However, Evading the police dosent seem to be possible, but Dont take my word on that one. The game also has a good 'fine' system when busted by the Police. Do more wrong things and the fine will go up and it will tell you what you did. In Euro Truck Simulator, if you find a motel, you park in one of the stops and you rest. In Rig n' Roll, when you find a motel, you go inside and choose how many hours you want to check in. In the delivery warehouses, there is a variety of jobs you can pick that suit your style. For Example, If you want to race with AI Semi trucks, go ahead. If you want to race with AI Semi trucks when you and the AI trucks are carrying a trailer, go ahead. Or, if you want to keep it more realistic or you want a peaceful ride, go and pick up a trailer and do a normal delivery. There is one thing I dont like, however, and that is the trailer delivering time limit. So Instead of giving you a penalty for being late, If you are late, you will instantly have to pay the quitting fee and then deliver it to where you want, withought getting paid.
I really like this game, and If you see this game or this review, buy it over ETS2. Trust me, you will have a more fun time.
TL;DR
Don't waste your time with this, even when its on sale! Just spend that little bit extra and get either Euro truck simulator 2 or American truck simulator by SCS.
Can't call this a simulator like Euro truck simulator 2 or American truck simulator... I wouldn't even call it an arcade game, I think that would be an insult to arcade trucking games such as Big Mutha Trucker, 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker, Hard Truck, etc etc.
Pros
(Within the 20 minutes I attempted to play this I can't really find many to be totally honest)
-Vehicle damage both player and AI
-Police chases

-Controls are clunky and unresponsive if using a controller, not much better using the keyboard
-Visuals aren't too good, reminds me of an old PS2 or original Xbox game
-Confusing and no help on where to go once out of garage, this is of course after the 5 hour long unskippable cutscenes
-Not worthy of being an arcade racer (in my honest opinon)
This is a very fun truck drivin' game,you can have a good time over the road and driving in a nice truck.But my problem is that the frieghtliner fld is super mesed up but that doesnt matter because the realism of this game is amazing.
Rig n Roll
The name itself I like, it seems well fitting. Although the game itself is rather a disaster for me.
The graphics, all in all, looked pretty decent on the steam web page screenshots and in-game.
Unfortunately, the game isn't what I hoped to be.
What's Wrong About It?
Quick Summary Checklist:

In Depth Details of my experience:
The Camera View isn't very good, the Camera ends up being so close to your truck In-View Cabin's windshield and outside of the truck, it's horrible to control with it.
Optimization I had problems with. I had an old laptop and had issues running it on Medium and High settings, and I was over the recommendations by far. Now, I have a new PC that I got with an RX 480 8GB, I thought it would get rid of the issue and fix it along with my decent CPU for this game. Wrong, the game, in fact, ran worst than it did on my laptop. Why? I have no clue.
The cutscenes man, I can't handle them. To me, it was awkward dialogue left and right along with the character movement. I just wanted to drive some trucks, not seeing these cutscenes left and right.
There's no map to know what sense of direction to go. No checkpoints, GPS or anything.
Final Overview
Look, if you want a decent truck game that's simulated I would rather stick with the SCS titles. I understand that this game is dated but the older titles of the 18 Wheels Of Steel Series was better than this with a whole lot more content. This game would only be good for such an 'arcade' feel I guess. I'm disappointed with my purchase on this, just glad I got it on sale, although unfortunately, I cannot refund it.
For my rating, unfortunately, tanks with this game.
I would have to give it a 3/10.
I would recommend checking out American Truck Simulator as I stated for a simulator.
When it comes down to this game, I like it. But it sometimes has the ability to make me want to put a bullet in my computer. As of late, it stopped working and I really liked playing the game. But now, it says it is running for five seconds and then stopped. I even went as far as reinstalling it. I put it on my other computer and it didn't have any problems! What the hell?! If anyone else had this problem, my condolences, but I also think this game should work properly.
I like this game, it's pretty fun and doesn't take itself very seriously at all. It's just an evolution of 18 Wheeler and Big Mutha Truckers. My only complaint is the really wobbly physics...makes sense, top heavy and all that and I found it doesn't lend well for controller or keyboard (Way too many functions to map) so maybe a steering wheel is in order.

I have not changed my mind. The map is large, there's lots of cheesy cutscenes to watch and races while delivering to be done. A steering wheel, with pedals and a gear stick makes it much better.
not a bad game dose not work well with XBOX360 controller but its still a giggle getting to a police chase in a 18 wheeler best controller setup is to use the keyboard i would give this game 5/10 at the moment it is in weeklong deals so i would recomend it as it cheap but if you want a realy good trucking game euro truck simulator 2 but as an arcade type trucking this is a cool game to own hope you find this helpful
Look at this as a simulator and you'll be let down. Looking at this as a truck-themed arcade game, and you'll praise:
• An amazing map - no prefabricated undersized intersections. The bespoke highways are properly scaled and a joy to drive on. You can do more than 30mph without tipping over. The map itself is huge - takes several hours to cross despite higher speeds and straighter roads than ETS
• You can see your hired drivers on the road as they work, and join them in competitive jobs
• A far, far, far more detailed truck diagnostics system than other games. Worn brake pads grind against the discs and degrade braking performance. Panels get beat up, the engine runs like crap.
• The truck upgrade system is excellent and features things like side and rear mounted cameras to cover blind spots.
• Cops (could be a con for some!)
• Nice side-missions, help out hitchhikers if you want, pick up extra jobs from cafés or over the radio
That isn't to say this game is without flaws. The iffy handling and dodgy physics are geared to racing, not driving. There are competitive jobs where you are pitted against other drivers to race cargo to its destination (very unrealistic). There are also truck races and out-of-this-world missions to complete, too.
In summary, don't look at it as a sim and you will be able to forgive its shortcomings. Go for a race or forgive the iffy handling and go for a really scenic drive.

Graphic look like a computer game that was set in the early 2000s
The story mode is unplaybable, after only one mission I found the game was bug
The physic in this game is non-existant
The camera view are horrible
The truck are 10X more worst than Euro Truck simulator 2
The AI traffic is horrible
There no waypoint tell you where to go.
If you thinking buy this game, DON'T DO IT, Instead play Euro Truck simulator 2 or wait fot the new trcuk game American truck simulator.
