The combat is fun,challenging and satisfying The level design is goes hand and hand with it. the story is very personal and goes in many directions that I liked but it doesn't have much of a satisfying end to me and that "To B Continued" hasn't arrived. maybe when we get a sequel or DLC it will be better.

Highly recommend this combat puzzle game! I say it's a puzzle game because you have to figure out how to approach each encounter, though there is no definitive way. You will die, but the respawn to start over is almost instant. If you can get the controls down, it can be very satisfying to clear a section in style. The story and dialogue is actually pretty good as well. The music is BUMPIN! With about 4-5 hours to complete a play through, it's an all around good game. Also there are multiple endings and many dialogue choices.

This game is just, phenomenal. The graphics ooze charm, the music is so fitting and helps you to get in the groove, the DIALOGUE is so good. They use colour and other effects so great. I can't even verbalise all my thoughts. And, the story especially. It's one of the best video game experiences I've had, if not the best, and the DLC still has yet to be released at the time of writing! Yet when it does... It's FREE!

Genuinely, if you like getting into the groove of things, figuring out tough situations and seeing it through to the bitter end, this game is for you. I've completed every achievement sans the speed run one.... I still only have silver.

Absolutely phenomenal game with great music and such a good story. Can't wait for the DLC to come. Really fun trying to figure out strategies and understanding the movement and combat.

i played this initially on Switch, and rebought it here cuz holy $h1t... it left a big impression when i was watching the post-game credits roll late at night in my bed

if you're a fan of Cyberpunk and games like Hotline Miami- you'll like what this game brings to the table

the fighting is so good and enjoyable :DDD, but does gets difficult near the end

This game genuinely took my breath away. Between the incredible soundtrack, beautiful visuals, fast and fun gameplay, and the amazing story it just comes out as being one of the best games on steam you can buy. I can not express how much I love this game and how excited I am for not only the DLC but the future projects this developer brings us in the future.

the game has been so fun and addictive plus the whole neo noir setting and its mechanics makes it such a breath of fresh air with its heart-throbbing music, story has multiple endings and layers which makes it fun to play again and again after completing it once.

Katana Zero is a visually striking game with a unique atmosphere and narrative presentation. The story is intriguing, and the style stands out, combining smooth pixel art with sharp effects and a strong sense of pacing.

Gameplay-wise, it can be quite challenging — and while satisfying when you get into the flow, certain parts definitely test your patience. For completionists: some achievements require specific actions at certain points, and since the game isn’t forgiving with replays, it might be worth checking those ahead of time. Replaying the entire game just to reach a missed detail can be frustrating, especially considering the difficulty.

Still, it’s an engaging experience overall and worth playing if you’re into stylish action games with a darker tone.

I can't describe how much I love this game. Only I can tell you that after playing this game, you will add its soundtracks to your daily music playlist and listen to it over and over. Brilliant game!

This game and it's art style are so cool to me. One of the first games I did a speedrun in since forever ago and getting better is so rewarding since you can literally parry EVERYTHING, all while going so fast you feel like your actually good till you realize theres a hard mode and you have to speedrun the whole game... but it's worth it.

This game is amazing. I usually don't really care for the story of a game, but i was more invested in the story than the actual gameplay. The gameplay is very fun and easy to learn but the game itself over all is pretty hard. The game has a lot of replay value as there are multiple endings depending on your choices through out your play through. Solid 10/10

Anyway the gameplay is fun, the graphics are good and the free DLC comes out soon!I think the story is amazing.
And I am very sorry for the people who buyed this game when it released because the cliffhanger, I knew there was one but like that I could have never imagined it.

Plus points, because you fight as a guy with a sword against people with guns. That is fucking cool and I will not accept anything else.

Mesmerizing, mysterious, and challenging in a way that doesn't consume a lot of your time if you fail. I played it through a second time just because i enjoyed the gameplay so much (and, to be fair, because the game is maybe 3 hours tops). If you want something shorter with a very engaging story, then take a look at the trailer and see if the tone is something you would vibe with - it did for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I think the price is appropriate the story is really interesting and but I was very disappointed with the gameplay. There is a lot less freedom in the combat than I expected. the enemies are more like obstacles that you have to tackle in a specific sequence to reach the end of a room. if you can't clear the room, which you can only really do in that specific sequence, you start over at the beginning of the room, like a classic platformer.

I find it strange that the game lets you slow down time to complete the trickier sequences, and "rewinds time" to the beginning of the room when you fail, instead of just letting you manually rewind time as an ability. im sure that's easier said than done but while the gameplay is incredibly flashy, at the end of the day your only options are sword, improvised projectile, jumping, and sliding. the game is difficult but it always feels like theres one way you're "supposed" to do it, so it feels less like hotline miami and more like donkey kong country.

the story is really good though. I don't like the game enough to finish it, but I think if you know what to expect, you could still have a great time. it's simple but demands precision. it punishes failure in a way i think is tedious, but it never sets you back far enough to be a real problem. It still looks gorgeous and theres no two ways about that.

In a game where one hit is all it takes for you to die, every slash you take must be the one to kill. Katana Zero isn't about brute force, it's about control, timing, and flow, daring you to move elegantly, strike swiftly, and think tactically all within the span of seconds.

You play as a samurai assassin with the ability to slow time and predict the future, or at least, that’s how it feels. What you're really doing is dying over and over, rewinding, rethinking, and learning until your run is seamless. And when you finally clear a room in one fluid motion, it doesn’t feel like victory, it feels like choreography. Like art. Like you're directing your own action sequence and watching it back seeing it all play out beautifully.

I personally recommend this game just on mechanics alone, it's awesome, go try it.

- 워낙 유명한 작품이라 다들 이름은 들어봤겠지만 스토리 자체는 평작에 가까움, 그러나 뛰어난 게임성으로 인해 인생에 한두 번은 플레이하기 좋은 명작

before i played this game i was lazy, suicidal, sad, and didnt do much aside sleeping. Nothing has changed but game is good.

Being able to choose different dialogue options throughout the game was pretty neat and some of the options actually impacted a couple of levels. Some of the NPCS were pretty annoying while others needed more screen time. Slowing down time and closing the gap between you and the enemy came in clutch in near death situations. Still patiently waiting for the DLC...

this game left me at a loss for words. im going to be honest at first I pirated the game on an old laptop, but when i finished the game i couldnt believe how good it was. i HAD to go on steam and buy it IMMEDIATLY. the gameplay, the visuals, the music, THE STORY MY GOD. i cannot WAIT for the dlc. an absolute 10/10 game.

i only played it for 4 hours and, my god. the gameplay, the pixle art, the story are all Amazing(with a capital A). i rarely, and i mean RARELY, write reviews on games. thats how good this game was, it might not be everyones cup of tea but if you like sidescroller action games, this is a MUST HAVE. this NEEDS to be at the top of your wishlist, if its not... GET TO IT NOW!!!

Insane game. The gameplay is addicting when you get used to it. Never felt so badass in a videogame before. The story is amazing too, and the soundtrack slaps. This game got it all.

It's been six years since the game's release, and they're still working on DLC—and it's still free. What more can we expect from this amazing dev team? Every greedy company like Sony and Nintendo should take note, along with their brain-dead fanbases who defend paying for so-called "upgrade versions." for 10$ or full price lol. Wow, godamn. Especially the music and the story. I'm a sucker for short games, because when well done essentially you take all the effort and quality of longer game and condense them. Like this is that higher quality game from A to Z being amazing.

The story is just on another level, I freaking love it. All the questions that arise, all the twists, the deep and distraught nature of characters. Fantastic storytelling.

The music is another part that's on another level. It sounds amazing and also always is on the perfect front. Like, when it's much less noticeable or gone or whatever when the game wants you to focus on the lore and the kind of music which is used, the emotions portrayed through the music. Amazing again.

Then you have the timers on the choices, the fact you cannot save scum and "cheat" the dialogue options; yet every answer you give has impact. I thought I wouldn't like or care for this "detail", but it is much more than a detail. You have to play with game with the consiousness of your choices. That's what these details allow for, and it is well implemented.

Gameplay is also fun. It's also nicely balanced between storytelling and gameplay time, with nice transitions.

I freaking love and recommend this game

Been a big favorite of mine to play on my switch and I love it even more on my laptop! High-stakes action and fast-paced gameplay in a sick ass cyberpunk package! What's not to love?! Not to mention the incredible soundtrack! The pixel art style and graphic effects are a treat to the eyes and fit well with the music and gameplay. Slashing down enemies as zero is incredibly addictive and fun! 100000% recommend

Amazing story. Great theme and style. If you enjoy goofy humor and bloody fast combat this is your game. This is my favorite game on Steam Ever.

The fact that this just got a free update - I had to come back and reinstall it. This game is simply a masterpiece in a very small package. A must play, just as others claim it to be. Shout out to the amazing work the devs have done on this game.

An incredible, fun experience that allows for so much badassery on the player's behalf, while also delivering a riveting narrative. (or at least the first 3/4ths of it! Looking forward to the DLC!)

Really fun game that gets harder as you go on. The story is unique and the antagonists and pretty cool. My only problem with this game is that it felt a little too short, but that can be canceled out by the fact that a FREE DLC is coming real soon that expands on the story and characters. The soundtrack is very fitting, as well how they make use of it throughout the game. For 15 bucks I heavily recommend this game.

The best way i can think of describing this game is as follows:
A mix of John Wick Action, Hotline-Miami-esque vibes and gameplay (although its a platformer) with a touch of SUPERHOT through the Chronos mechanic

the story is NOTHING to scoff at either, honestly there are very few games like this on the market today.

I'll give it an 8.9/10 because it can get a bit hectic at times

It's one of those games that makes you wish you hit your head in the future to lose your memory so you could re-experience again, but i doubt that even a concussion could make me forget the joy and fun i've had with this game, every aspect of it is top notch and unforgettable.

100% beautiful and underrated, can't wait for the DLC
