Forgot you need ubisoft to run this. kinda lame, also wish there was a way to import your console progression too.

I really wanted to tell you "Yes, it's a fun game with lots to do". I wanted to tell you about the graphics and open world style.

I wanted to tell you that it's worth buying...but I cannot.

After all this time there are still inexplicable crashes. There's still twitchy controls from time to time. There are still graphical glitches. The NPCs still don't care whether they move in front of your firing line.

Worst of all, no matter what difficulty level you choose, you're enjoyable game is pretty much over once you hit the "Sam Fisher" mission. No shooting the enemy and not getting seen. It is probably the most frustrating mission in the game and you cannot proceed until it is done. The difficulty level is off the chart and there's no way around it.

It's easy to say "Get gud" but the mission is unnecessarily difficult and not in line with pretty much the rest of the game.

Go play FarCry instead.

I'm normally not much of an FPS player, but this game has done such a great job. It's equally fun to go slow and precise using drones and rebel support and be super strategic or you can also just go in guns blazing for fun and since dying isn't a big deal except in Ghost mode, you can try out things and just have fun!

The HUGE open-world is impressive and it reminds me a little of AC open-world games so if you are familiar with that genre/style, this plays similarly but as an FPS.

This game is the de facto immense open world sniper game. You can get to almost anywhere and hide and snipe, drone etc more or less without being detected if you are careful. It is the best open world game I have ever played.

The weapons are cool, and you can mix and match them to suit your style. Setting up ambushes and taking out enemies feels super slick, especially when you’re working with your squad. If you love messing with tactics and outsmarting your opponents, you’re gonna have a great time.

One of the best tactical shooter game I've ever played. The game also open world with HUGE Map you can explore. Love the characters and weapon costumization, you can build your weapon base of your preferences. This game also offers you highly engaging gameplay, allowing you to choose between playing stealth, more tactical, or engaging in direct combat with enemies, depending on your playstyle. The story kinda basic, nothing special. The graphic was great, and you can play in co-op with your friends for more exciting experience. Highly recommended to play, just buy when it's on sale.
Only one thing I don't like about this game is that you have to login to Ubisoft Connect before you can play. So unfortunate that such a Great Game like this was develop by Ubisoft.
I hope someday other Game Developers can make games like this, even more more more better than this one.

Lucky for me to have got this during sold cause it's a fucking scam. Ghost Recon Wildlands should not cost this much for having so little to offer, even worse considering all the cosmetics that you also have to pay for instead of just unlocking them while playing or having them for free. It's both awful at stealth and regular action, I can not recommend this for anyone interested in a "tacticool" TPS.

Ubisoft adds an additional launcher, requires a new account, and takes 7 days to respond when you have an issue with said account. Game is pretty good, Ubisoft is not.

This game has a very open world story I have never played a game with so much freedom and dont get me started on the graphics it has support by Nvidia

Generally speaking dont buy anything ubisoft, let the company burn. Their business practices are putrid and every game is a repeat.

Good game, not enjoyable collectibles, good firing feeling, horrible La Unidad.

Before the game used to take 10 minutes to start, even after all the possible fixes online and even the ubisoft support, nothing improved. Now, the game doesn't launch it doesn't matter what I do.

This game is very very good, exciting and addictive, the campaign missions are very enjoyable to play and very immersive

Wildlands is MASSIVE Open Worlds done PERFECTLY. A TON of biodiversity, probably over 10 unique biomes, all regions feel distinct from another, tons of cool little places with some lore attached to them that you can find, and the INSANE render distance, especially for a game that released in 2017. You can unironically see cars driving around, in the form of little lights, even if you're 10km away.
And the visuals of the game are out of this world for a 2017 game. If the future ghost recon game has to get something right, its the open world. If it even manages to come close to Wildlands' world, then I'm happy.

Idk why there's a penalty for killing civilians, US Special Forces do it ALLL the time.

Quite possibly one of worst stealth shooters I've seen. The premise of the game is meant to be a tactical shooter with the idea of being as covert as possible in an open world environment. Instead, we have GTA style stealth game with spicy diarrhoea DRM and Ubislop connect on a seven year old game to remind the people they don't own their games.

The AI is smoothie of frustrating and abysmal awareness. Enemies are omniscient enough to see the player through dense foliage whilst the player can't effectively track. AI teammates are too inaccurate and unreliable without heavy, unnecessary grinding. Rebels are so dense, they have a bone in their brain. They either give away your position or commit explosive suicide by grenading the road they'll drive over if there's an enemy in front of them. Unidad patrols are annoying. No matter how fast you kill them, it results in swarms of patrols, sometimes in sparse rural areas as if they wear trackers on them. The end result is a poorly designed swarm shooting gallery which typically ends when you find cover or die. There is no other possible outcome. The worst feature they put in is "on the spot revivals". This basically means where you die is where you are revived. It would be fine if my team cleared the zone, but what typically happens results in a near instant death from where you are revived with a maximum of being revived twice.

The gunplay has not been improved since it came out. Far Cry 5/New Dawn, Ghost Recon Breakpoint (yes, I know it came later) are a few other examples of what the basic gunplay boils down to. It may be satisfying for many people, but it does not satisfy me. Most sniper scopes do not seem to work. The game offers no instruction how to aim with them other than to guess. I've used AI and manual search queries and found a brain drain of people who could have taught me but don't exist. You've reached peak laziness, Ubisoft; when will we be able to calibrate the sniper scope and get real laser rangefinders?

The map design makes me upset. Objectives are often intrusive such as one stealth mission spawning underneath me when I was flying a helicopter. The mission failed because everyone was on orange alert and I lost my helicopter, forcing me to walk. There's another set of missions where you have to find parachuted boxes all over the map. Mountain climbing doesn't work, meaning helicopters are required. The rest of the game is playing Christoper Columbus and walking to objectives you can't exactly fast travel to.

And for the other sources of frustration sync-shots take forever to coordinate and are unreliable. Invisible walls soak up bullets if you try to defilade in a firing position in some places. Tagging enemies in helicopters has become so unreliable, I often hide behind cover and use my drone to fly into the helicopter rotors instead of trying to shoot at it. Literally works with any drone.

What has this game accomplished? So far, it has a competent story, the environment is great, and the options to use rebel support is fairly innovative. Some of the best mechanics in this game are the attention to detail such as when Nomad calls out the number of targets or when your squad calls out the target location in relation to actual landmarks. It's a slightly better polished turd than Breakpoint with the Ubisoft stain still smeared onto this product.

Great graphics, easy to understand and get the basic of the game and how to play, no rush of the story line

what a great game you can play solo but i recommend playing with friends, it has 4 player co-op and it has a really good end game feature for the solo player to grind after the main story is finished.

you cant go wrong with Tom Clancy, They spend millions on their tv series "Jack Ryan" which i highly recommend watching but their games have endless support and amazing gameplay as we dont have to worry about them going under. game is massive, def worth its value

For an AAA game it's pretty good. Most of the missions are fun (But some of them are _SO_ hard at least for me. Though the missions aren't the best part. The best part is just messing with the enemies and attacking the resort at the lake. All around it's alright, my favorite Ghost Recon game by far.

Its tone is weirdly mean-spirited even by Clancy standards, the open world activities are fairly dull, and it's occasionally buggy and busted in a way that only a big map game like this could be. However, as a silly co-op game with 2-3 other people, would recommend. Don't play this alone though. There are so many other Ubisoft games you could play alone and have a better brain-off time with.

I bought this game on release for Xbox, and it was so good that I replayed the story mode 2x and then bought it on Steam to play it again after a few years.

I love that this game is free-roam and I love that I'm able to fight who I want, when I want. I can choose which territories to take over first, and I can choose which missions I want to choose.

For the time this game came out, it was ahead of it's time in my opinion. The map is huge, and there's so much to explore and I feel like you still unlock new events and locations even after playing the game for 7 years. The graphics are really damn good for the age of this game. I feel like other Ubisoft games that came out around this time slacked on the graphics. The player customization is awesome, and I feel like I can really make my character mine. The weapon customization is awesome too in my opinion, but if you want a specific part you either have to search where it is on google, or spend many hours finding parts until you get what you want.

The AI are dumb as hell I can confidently say, and they have definitely messed up a couple of my stealthy missions. Besides them getting in the way, they're a nice addition when the enemies stack up too much and it's too much for you to handle. I'm pretty sure you can turn them off but I do like the extra backup at times.

It's OKAY. It's Ubisoft, so if you played Far Cry or AC or GR before, expect nothing new. Much as I enjoy the customization and weapons and 'military vibe'. It just gets boring and repeats itself already in under 5 hours play time. Hard to find the urge to play it anymore because it's just rinse & repeat now.

Graphics are really good and the map is extremely large. Combat is stealth-oriented and is quite entertaining, but after a few hours it becomes repetitive. The missions are all the same and are essentially pasted over the entire map. It is typical Ubisoft gameplay loops and progression which often lacks in variety. Wouldn't recommend.

Typical ubisoft formula game full of copy and paste map design and repetitive missions , only get this on sale if you got nothing else to play , this would be a pretty good time killer.

Honestly i have some 50/50 feelings about this game, one issue is when i land my helicopter a bit harder on the ground and i exit the heli before it hits the ground i will clip through the map and it will lead me back to the loading page and i have to wait for it to load again making me lose my heli and teleports me about 200-300 meters back. The missions could have been a bit more fun but meh idk. Overall its a 7/10 game with needs some adjustments but the rest is fine

I have played three Ghost Recons so far: the original Ghost Recon from 2001, Future Soldier, and Wildlands. I was excited to see that Wildlands was on sale because I really loved the other two I had played before. After downloading Wildlands, I was struck with what seemed like a very interesting setting: Bolivia turned into a narco-state where the U.S., as always, has to interfere for one reason or another.

Although the premise is pretty cool, its execution isn't (at least not for me). Let's see the main issues:
1. Doing a good open world doesn't seem to be easy. This is another one of those open worlds that I feel is just empty and full of recycled missions.
2. I spent most of my time just driving from one side of the map to another. If I wanted to buy a game to drive I would just get The Crew (which was just recently being sold with an ~95% off discount).
3. The only way you'll get a real challenge from this game and force you to actually play stealthy is if you play on very hard or extreme. The original Ghost Recon would punish you harshly for any display of recklessness regardless of the difficulty you chose.
4. The developers stated once that they chose Bolivia because of its beautiful landscapes, but then during the first hours of the game you hear the main character and its side companions complaining about how everything looks like trash. This is pretty ironic.
5. Even though it is set in BOLIVIA, all I could hear were STRONG MEXICAN accents. This just continues to build into the stereotype that all Latin Americans are Mexicans. This is what I hated the most, it seems like they paid the voice actors to make the most exaggerated Mexican accent ever. I wouldn't mind some Mexican voices, as it seems that the druglords import some of their thughs from Mexico. But why is EVERYONE speaking like they are Mexican?

Only 10% of total playerbase have been able to play this junk on multiplayer whereas the other 90% might be busy on the internet searching for "How to solve NAT strict issue on wildlands" for past 7 years.

Should have refunded it earlier. Now it's just a junk lying on my steam library which I'm not able to play with my friends.

Really wish we had a neutral review option, this game is a nice idea and it was my first contact with the Ghost Recon series (I bought it on a sale cheap af to play co-op with a friend).

Pros:
- cars and helicopters are easy and too simple to drive/pilot
- many customization options
- nice overall theme
- new player friendly hud and controls

Cons:
- it's a bug fest because Ubi can't make 3D models not even if they really tried hard
- it's a eternal grind fest to get an ability that will not even help you because the main character is just plain paper to the enemies
- lootboxes for weapons everywhere and honestly I just wish triple As could stop with this shi already but they never will
- bad optimization because Ubi doesn't know how to polish their stuff
- at some point you'll get bored because you're just doing the same thing over and over again
- adults and operators with the cringe sjw dialogue from a terminally online Twitter/Tumblr user

Should you buy this game? If you'll play with a friend, maybe. If not (and are now trying to give Ubi a second chance) don't even bother. Unless you really doesn't have a life or enjoy bugged grindfests.

I made a character that looks like me and dressed him up as a self insert and the dialogue is so cringe i had to make a character that was not at all like me so i could play the game with as little connection to the character as possible.

The friendly AI is god aweful, the cars feel terrible, The helicopters are simplistic and boring with pathetic guns, and all in all the game just feels off.

The game is great and alot of fun with a friend or multiple friends in a coop campaign.

I bought this to play w a good buddy and we played the entire main storyline to the end. I think he liked the game a lot but I would have never played it solo.
My overall word to define this game is 'clunky'.
The overall game mechanics are beyond clunky and the driving and plane mechanics feel like a student project in game design that is just looking to get a passing grade and the AI is beyond braindead.
Braindead as in: jumping out of a chopper 1km above the mission area and landing somewhere in the mission area and then the chopper falls down and crashes INSIDE the mission area and NO enemy even cares lol.

The most interesting part of the storyline were the side missions where you play alongside other Tom Clancy titles' main characters like the Sam Fischer mission as well as the missions with Walker. If the main storyline missions were as cool as the above mentioned ones, this to me would feel like a AAA-title without a doubt.

Currently playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint and I can be thankful for the fact that Ubisoft got it right on this try of the title.

Wildlands feels like a Source engine mod at best but I would still recommend playing it with a friend if you're looking to have fun in a HUGE open world.
Because "stealthing" a mission by crashing a plane or chopper directly into the mission area was pretty fkn fun for the ridiculousness of it all.
I probably wouldn't recommend it for people who ACTUALLY enjoy stealth shooters bc this ain't it.

It’s a good game. I recommend taking the stealthy route like I did—thoroughly recon the areas and take out multiple targets synchronously with your AI buddies. It really makes you feel like a squad leader. Just be careful not to keep them in the front too often, or your cover will be blown in seconds. They can be a bit buggy at times, occasionally clipping through walls, but that’s that. There were times when I spent over half an hour at a single outpost, and it was immensely satisfying.

If you prefer a more aggressive style, you can definitely go all out, but be warned: you won’t get far in UNIDAD territory with that approach. The open world is impressive, boasting a vast map with diverse, beautiful biomes. My favorite aspect is the alternate ending—it truly completes the story!

Amazing game, started after it was released back in the days. Beautiful graphics, rich story, great co-op mechanism, you'll love it. Imo way better in terms of gameplay and story than Breakpoint

**POTENTIAL BUYERS FYI**
The game is easily one of the best games I have ever played. I have enjoyed many hours playing as a legendary SF Op taking down an entire drug cartel. The story is great, the gameplay is solid, and the world is gorgeous. I really would recommend this to anyone......HOWEVER (and with a lot of displeasure in saying this), it IS a Ubisoft game and they inevitably found a way to mess it up. Now you can't get the game to run without jumping through half a circus worth of hoops. From launching as admin, to manipulating game files, etc, all just to play the vanilla version of the game. It can be incredibly frustrating and off putting. I feel that if you are considering buying this game due to the current sale (Sept 2024) you have a right to be aware of this.
If this isnt a problem for you/ you aren't deterred by this, then again, I highly encourage any of you to play this game as it is a really great game and a fun time.

My friends tried to play this but the game keeps telling us to change our IP addresses which we don't want.

missions are bugged as fuck and want you to lose, stealth mission where u hop in a helicopter undetected but when u get in vehicles like that everyone in like a mile range will spot u. so u either have to kill everyone without them finding a body or hearing a shot or time it perfectly which i have not been able to do.

I would recommend it if they didn't use Ubisoft Connect. It prevent's so many people from playing games that they've paid good money for, and for that reason I cannot support them with a positive review. But they're french, so....

It's been such an ongoing problem that I'm not surprised your stocks dropped more than 10% over a 2-day period. Honestly, I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.

I love this game,it is like action movie,good optimization,character customization,but there is many wish i could change. for example it is not story rich game,it almost has no story,it has only missions (still enjoy btw).
