Variety of weapons is fun and very creative. This keeps combat from feeling too repetitive. Kill counter for zombies is a nice touch and goes well with the arcadey aesthetic. The story is OK so far and fairly coherent. Overall a well designed game that holds up well after all these years.

I would personally recommend the game to people who are newer to the Dead Rising series or just new to zombie games as a whole because this game is genuinely perfect, Dead Rising 1 was good but Dead Rising 2 is so much better because of its story, different endings, and characters.


Now moving on to something that also really makes this game fun is the crafting system, I think its so cool how off the bat you can make a really good weapon just by getting one weapon from the safe room and the other right next to the first crafting station you can see, it makes the game a lot more fun and personally I would even say its one of the best parts of the game entirely as almost everything you can see you can combine, hell you can even combine a teddy bear and a machine gun.


Another great part of dead rising 2 however, is the characters, more specifically the psychopaths you encounter throughout the game, they all represent different things just as one of the bosses represents grief over a loved one and another shows lust and resentment over the fact that their father doesn't approve of them due to being a virgin. So these characters really make it better to see how the impacts of the first game really mess them up.

Beautiful game, and it may be buggy or kind of crappy at certain parts but it is a really old game, and even for an old game I dare to say its better than most modern games. I really recommend this game and this is my 4th review so I apologize in advance if my review seems kind of shitty, to whoever sees this and buys the game, I hope you have as much fun as I did!:D

Good game but the servers for coop are complete dogshit

I mean it's Dead Rising 2. The DLC don't work last I remember, and I don't think this got the "Remastered" treatment like the modern console ports. I'd prefer it if we got those as an optional sidegrade when purchasing these games. Either way, good game, I recommend.

Dead Rising 2 takes everything that was frustrating about the first game and improves on it in almost every way. The restrictive save system is more forgiving, the survivors are actually competent instead of brain-dead liabilities, and the combat feels smoother with tons of new combo weapons that make mowing down zombies way more fun. Chuck Greene is also a more likable protagonist than Frank West, with a more personal and engaging motivation driving the story.

The setting of Fortune City is a great evolution of the mall from the first game, offering a larger and more varied environment filled with weapons, vehicles, and plenty of ways to creatively dispatch zombies. The combo weapon system is a fantastic addition, adding an extra layer of strategy and fun to the gameplay. Whether you're duct-taping chainsaws to a paddle or strapping dynamite to a football, the sheer variety of ways to cause chaos is one of the game's biggest highlights.

Overall, Dead Rising 2 refines and expands on the original in all the right ways, making for a much smoother and more enjoyable experience while keeping the series' signature blend of action and dark humor intact. Does the game do anything amazing to warrant me giving it a higher score? No, but that's okay because there is nothing wrong with just a good zombie game.

If you are looking for a Zombie hack and slash this is not it, The game is more annoying than difficult. waste of time and money. I did buy DR 1 2 3 and 4 so i will try 3 and 4 as well to see if theyre worth anything.

Outdated port. no modern controller support and the game permanently giving me a black screen after trying to alt tab it are immediate glaring issues. Yes, it even black screened me on different desktop tabs and I had to click stuff in task manager in the allotted time windows gave me every time I hovered over it on the task bar after pressing the windows key. No, there's not even an option to make it windowed for Borderless Fullscreen (the app). This coupled with what other issues I've been hearing about this port made me give up rather quickly, and killed my recent desire to binge the series after recently complete dead rising 1. Please only get this when capcom decides to give a damn and give the same quality the dead rising 1 port gave, which will be never.

before playing this game i had no girlfriend, no friends, and no will to live. after playing this great game with some annoying and tedious moments like the psycho's being way more annoying to kill than in the DRDR, none of those 3 things had changed. regardless tho this game was great.

I've always loved Dead Rising and 2 still holds up as probably the best casually imo- that said, despite its "Playable" steam deck rating, apart from the small text it actually runs *better* on Steam Deck than it does on windows assuming you use a controller because modern controller support on this just does not work normally.

That said you can play with KBM but more importantly, the game is still fantastic with that issue

Overall a pretty good sequel. The story definitely improved a lot and i really like the map design in this one. Only problem I really had with dr2, is that the time limits seemed to limit me more in the fun I had than they did in the first game, idk, at least that is what i remember annoyed me quite a bit.

This is THE best game of all-time, and I truly mean it. I have a spot for this game down in my heart that grows every time I come back to play it. The first time I played this was when I was 5 on my uncle’s Xbox 360. I wasn’t good because I was 5, so I just watched TheRadBrad play it on Youtube. It has the most impactful story I’ve ever seen right behind the original Dead Rising. You’re this badass motorcross driver that slices zombies in half with a motorcycle with chainsaws on it called Chuck Greene. You have a young daughter called Katie. You have to navigate around Fortune City, a zombie infested mall, trying to find medicine to give to her because she’s bitten. In the middle of this you have TK, a self-centered pimp that acts like Kanye at the 2009 VMAs, which wants to spread the infection because the mall holds so much money that he can swipe out if there’s an outbreak. Civilians have gone crazy and become psychopaths, lunatics which don’t even know what’s right or wrong anymore. On top of it, you’re framed as the person who started the outbreak and you have to not only prove that you didn’t do it, but also expose the lies of what happened in Fortune City while getting your daughter and anyone else out of there. It’s such a beautiful game. The gameplay still holds up to today. The graphics were amazing for their time. The gut wrenching feeling when you finally face TK and have an all out brawl overtop of the very stadium that you were slicing zombies in, which determines life or death, the truth getting out, and saving your daughter is unmatched by any other game ever made. Dead Rising 2 is a 10/10

Played this game on Xbox on my Xbox one and I'm glad I got to play it again. It's great and I played with some guy named MurlinDurl and I couldn't be gladder. It was peak.

Curti muito o jogo, a gameplay é satisfatória, e a história é bem legal. A única coisa que não curti muito foi o sistema de tempo do jogo, que praticamente obriga você a fazer as coisas correndo. No começo queria muito explorar todas as áreas, ai foi bem agoniante, tive que fazer rotas para explorar as coisas, só depois que vi algo de interessante nisso.

TLDR; your mileage may vary but if you enjoy a zombie horde sandbox with rogue-lite elements that can also be played co-op, it couldn't hurt to pickup on sale for a fun experience.

As somebody who bought and played through the game heavily in co-op on 360, my glasses are probably rose tinted with nostalgia but i'd argue its because of that i still thoroughly enjoyed my time so far returning to this game.

Its old and crusty, it controls bad, Boss and survivor AI is bad with path bugs and general combat jank. its a PC port of an old 360/ps3 game with no controller support. I can agree this is dumb, but the PC controls are far from the worst I've seen, and my only issue with them is aiming guns feels piss poor, but I'd argue 80% of the time you don't want to use a gun anyways, and i recall guns being trash on console too (as if the game was telling you to use the combo weapons instead).

as for the bugs, so far my 15 hours into this current save has had 0 crashes and minimal issues in co-op(the worst being 1 survivor getting stuck one time). but when purchased the game there was MANY reviews stating worse bugs and crashes, so that could just be dumb luck for both me and my friend.

The combo weapons are still silly and fun. Playing dress up with Chuck for silly cutscenes is always a good laugh. the Case system and rogue-lite elements are really neat given the time the game released, having to plan out your optimal route, learning secret item locations, the magazines and powering up Chuck physically to be able to rescue even more survivors faster.
I love this game, if you can get past the crust its worth just for the co-op fun if you have just 1 other friend

Literally the worst combat I've ever seen in my entire life. Constant boss battles against regular people who eat 200 rounds from an LMG and attack you as soon as you stand up from the last time you were hit with no window to dodge. These battles can also sneak up on you as you explore which is a bad mix with only being able to save at restrooms

Controller support is busted. Can't say I expected better of Capcom, oh well.

i love this game people should go back and play games like this instead of these new garbage can games that are coming out especially the unfinished ones that shouldn't even be out PLAY THIS
