mmm pacman
A great expansion to the classic Pac-Man experience, taken to a new score attack and endless mode format with additional powerups, visual styles, nods to other games, and potentially endless score-based replay value. Personally, playing with the PacMania graphics is a deceptively nice visual upgrade to the default.
Whether you play standalone or in the Pac-Man Museum+, it's a must play for arcade Pac-Man enthusiasts.
PAC-MAN 256 is an incredibly addictive arcade-style game. The premise is based on the glitch in the original PAC-MAN game, upon reaching level 256, the game will crash. Well, PAC-MAN 256 is in infinitely scrolling layout of PAC mazes with PAC Dots, power-ups, Ghosts, Coins (more on that in a minute), and fruit to collect to increase your score.
The game play is very similar to other PAC-MAN titles, move, avoid Ghosts, collect items to boost your score, and, of course, run from the encroaching glitch. Ghosts have specific behaviors, like other games in the series, fruit grant score boosts, coins are a currency to upgrade power-ups, and power-ups are far beyond the POWER Pellet here. Invisibility, Big PAC Mode, Tornadoes, Laser Beams, and more are at your disposal to eliminate Ghosts.
The music and sound effects are very familiar and suited for immersing the player in PAC-MAN. There are a ton of different layouts to choose from, if you tire from looking at the original designs. There are some customization options and the ability to use keyboard or controllers. Beyond that, it doesn't try to re-invent anything and performs well within the PAC-MAN game design. Also, similar to some other PAC-MAN titles, it is multiplayer (which gets very chaotic as you progress).
It is very inexpensive for the amount of enjoyment you are likely to get from it. Even at full price, it is worth the time. If you are a PAC-MAN fan, then you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended if you have a few PAC Pals to play with.
I have played almost every iteration of Pac-man that there is. This is my favorite. It pays homage to the classics by using graphics and sounds related to those older games but re-imagined as a constant runner. The bad guy that you're constantly running from is the kill screen from the original Pac-man arcade. It's what you would get if you were playing the original but instead of playing on a fixed grid it just goes on and on forever. The only limit is your ability.
More to the game than meets the eye, but otherwise a simple arcade-style romp. You can customize which power-ups appear in-game, and upgrade the ones you have access to, while also unlocking new ones. A fun little game for a fun little price.

*ROGUE-LITES YOUR PACMAN*
One of the very few games I've played on mobile and I liked it there and I liked it here but its pacman as an endless runner high score chase and well.. those old arcade genes still get the job done in spurts.
Great little game to play in short burst Pac Man at it's core but as an endless runner with a bunch of powerups and missions to do.

PAC-MAN 256 is a great "in-between" game, when you don't know what else to play. The gameplay gets easier as you put more time into it, since the late-game powerups are more useful than early in the game. Completionist for this game is a bit of a timesink, and the gameplay is obviously repetitive after 10+ hours. That being said, it's a fun addition to the PAC-MAN universe, and is worth picking up, especially during a sale. Would recommend!

dont let my low playtime fool you i used to play this game all the time on ps4, it was just cheap enough to finally get here
i love it, a great new spin on pacman that i kinda like more than the original
if there is one good thing about Billy Mitchell, we wouldn't have this game without him discovering the killscreen so there you go billy that's your legacy put some Rickey's on it and shove it up your -ahem
anyway runs on potato, runs better on better potatoes, keyboard is fine, its a great pick up and play for when you just want a simple distracting game, pick it up

It's a good fun casual pick up/put down Pac Man game. Great for blowing 10 or 15 minutes, especially on a Steam Deck.
Great Game for family fun. Save each other, and enjoy the teamwork. Also very challenging and quick rounds!
Definitely the definitive way to play this game, but I think five dollars is a little excessive for what's at its core a fairly simple mobile app. However, it is nice how this game is rescued from being assaulted by ads and microtransactions through this release. There's also a couple added features like a new powerup and multiplayer. Wait for a sale, as there isn't a ton of meat to this game to feel super reasonable at five dollars.
Good but short. You get bored after 8 hours. don't waste your coins on bad upgrades. The ghosts do have unique rules to them so pay attention.
